Joseph shouldn't have been able to drag him to the door at all. Esidisi was fully fired up when Joseph did the trick with the yarn, which means his body should have just burnt the yarn as soon as it touched him. Joseph cheated repeatedly in his fight against Whamu, yet Whamu just gave up and let himself be finished instead of eating a vampire to level the playing feild. Joseph didn't just have good luck. Araki wrote his wins poorly. The Pillar Men should have won, every last one of them. The vampire Straizo was Joseph's only legitimate win, and even that involved him pulling an entire arsenal out of hammer space. Part 3 Joseph had more legitimate wins than part 2 Joseph.

Esidisi was actual best boy and should have won because his body should have burnt the yarn. The plan should not have worked. All in all, though, Esidisi was incredibly loyal, being the only person who stood with Kars against their whole race, and sacrificing himself to prevent the protagonists from intercepting the package before it leaves the country, to get the stone to Kars, which makes him a better soldier than Whamu as well as more loyal and more effective.

What's wrong with him crying? It was a funny gag and I still can't be sure if he was being serious or fucking with Joseph. I thought he had the most fun personality of the Pillar Men.
It's kinda sad to know that Santana and Wamuu never had a chance to live normal pillar men lives. Their parents were killed by Kars when they were just newborns and he raised them to be nothing more than his servants, brainwashing them with his darwinistic philosophy. They never had a chance to live free of his influence and follow their own paths.
And for Santana it was worse, considering Kars said he was “only useful as a guard dog,” and left him behind in the New World while he, Esidisi, and Wamuu went to the Old Worlds to search for the perfect Aja.

I have kind of a love hate relationship with Joseph in that way, as I did enjoy him as a character even though I thought his reasons for his behavior were stupid. A protagonist is supposed to have something they are trying to achieve and the antagonist is supposed to oppose them and be an obstacle. But Joseph just picked a fight on behalf of a Nazi soldier even when the Pillar Men weren't looking to kill any more people and tried to warn him off. Kars fills the traditional protag role better, as he has a goal and good reasons for pursuing the goal.

@@josephjoestar5248 Narative wise I don't think it was conveyed well that Joseph needs to stop them. He didn't come off as that sympathetic to me. I have kind of a love hate relationship with Joseph in that way, as I did enjoy him as a character even though I thought his reasons for his behavior were stupid. A protagonist is supposed to have something they are trying to achieve and the antagonist is supposed to oppose them and be an obstacle. But Joseph just picked a fight on behalf of a Nazi soldier even when the Pillar Men weren't looking to kill any more people and tried to warn him off. Kars fills the traditional protag role better, as he has a goal and good reasons for pursuing the goal.
@@ANPC-pi9vu fair point, all i can say is that some protagonists can come off the way joseph did, he wasn't perfect but he was definitely a character i could call one of my favorites
