I watched part 1 of Rebel Moon, didn’t like it so I’m putting off watching part 2 till I’m in the mood. But I am glad to hear that they explain the backstory on the characters to get me to at least care about them.
I was like, "Are they gonna get to Kora, because jeez, we already know so much about her at this point (there is further exposition in the first half of part 2) and this will be super-overdone." Fortunately, they skipped over her for the most part. Nemesis had a pretty good back story and I'm sure that was designed to potentially set her up for a movie or mini-series. The prince dude that rides the bird, I forget his name, he had one of the more interesting stories in terms of the world-building aspect and the boffo Snyder visuals associated with that exposition. I did enjoy that scene. The scene made me care a little bit more about Milius from her retelling. In part 1 she was just kind of there. Turns out she has one of the better action sequences in the final battle. I'll probably give the film another look over the weekend. Right now I've been watching the new DC Animated Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part One in bits and pieces over the past week.
