As an addendum to this video I paid a visit to my LCS. I found the IDW volumes of the original Gold Key Publishing Star Trek comics. They recolored them and it looks ridiculous! The line art is still awesome but lost is the textured earthy color tones that really show in the Checker Publishing version I show in this video. Therefore I didn’t purchase the IDW editions at $30 a pop. There appear to be 4 volumes, perhaps more. Waaahhh! I want a huge omnibus with all the issues in the original artwork! Maybe Fantagraphics will take on this project since they're doing fantastic work restoring the old Atlas Comics SciFi work. See my video "Spock In the Days of the Rockets!" 😊
I could purchase the original floppies but I don't want to start tracking all those down. I think I have a couple I snagged here in there but I'm not prone to collect the entire run at this time. Too expensive and too much space taken up. 😅
