I just love the organic look that your pieces have. I was sitting here watching this (you know, the Queen of Procrastination, me lol!) and it occurs to me that I have everything I need to just get on with it and do it. Sometimes I wonder about myself, I have had quite bad flu and a bronchial infection but that hardly stops you making jewellery! (Master of Foresight too. I was just thinking what hobby come business could I do right into my dotage? Jewellery was the answer, I could do it bed bound at 103 years old, as long as I was careful with the torches and molten metal...lol...I'm busy kitting out the cabin/workshop in Scotland so I can work as noisily and smokily as I want and no neighbours to give me a hard time. ..can you imagine their faces at the thoughts of me with dementia and hot metal and oxyacetyline torches. ..actually, thats me now...oops lol!
Hi Theresa ! It's great to discover your online tutorials - I always used to look forward to seeing your designs and demos on JM. This is a great summer design - I have lost my wire mojo, but scanning your wire designs has inspired me !!
I love this bracelet. I was inspired and made one like it today! Copper is my absolute favorite metal. Thank you for sharing your methods and expertise!
Sorry! This was my first video. I made it with my webcam and I didn't know when I was filming how bad that camera is at focusing. I am considering a remake of this one, or something similar, in the hope I can get a clearer focus now!
Hello lilly! I have watched few of your videos and am already a big fan. I have a question, Do you first draw your designs and then go about making the piece or just pick a wire and see where the design takes you?
Thank you Vida, and good question! It's a bit of both really. Occasionally, I have a vision of how the finished piece will look, and draw it mainly so I don't forget anything! Mostly I will sketch out the basic shape to check that it looks right, and plan out the start of the wirework. Then once it's started, I try to let the design develop in the best way for that particular piece.
Sorry about that, and thanks for the feedback. It was my first video so I was still trying to work out the tech and camera angles. I hadn't realised that particular camera's resolution was so low until after the video was finished. It has been a very steep learning curve, but hopefully my videos have gotten better since then!
