    Hi I was wondering why there’s a HUGE difference when using the green transparent measure cup for musenmai rice. The rice turned out fluffy and chewy as opposed when using the non musenmai measure cup. It turns out wet and mushy. Any secret to the musenmai rice measure cup? Thanks!

      Hi! Due to the special milling they do for rinse free rice it needs a different measurement for it to cook properly in conjunction with using the Rinse-Free menu setting. This setting also has a different cooking flow that has a longer soaking time to allow the rice to absorb water. Hope this helps!

      @ZojirushiAmerica  2 роки тому +8

      Hi Anthony! We try our best to reply to all the questions we receive on here☺ For fried rice, it depends on what your preference is - long grain rice will make the dish less sticky and is commonly used for Chinese fried rice. Yakimeshi uses short grain rice for this type of fried rice that tends to be more sticky. Both types of rice are great and will be delicious! As for the garlic and ginger, you can add them to the rice when cooking it the rice cooker. We just advise not using too strong of a seasoning as it may leave a lingering scent. We hope this helps!

    In Asia these are 1/4 to 1/3 the price they sell for in the US! hmm... And these are rust prone inner lids and difficult to clean. And rice. doesn't come out any better with pressure. The regular micom $140 cooks rice just as well!!! And faster too!!!

    • @ZojirushiAmerica
      @ZojirushiAmerica  10 місяців тому

      Thank you for your feedback and sharing your thoughts on our products. The rice cookers we manufacture for use in the US and Canada are a bit different since they include settings that are popular here and come in 120V. As for price, there are a few other costs that affect the pricing, however we try our best to keep them at a fair price point for the product. In regard to rusting, this is always due to the water being used. If the water used to wash the inner lid has a lot of mineral content or is hard water, then when it's air dried, you will see the minerals left on the lid after the water has evaporated. If such is the case, then it's best to towel dry the parts and not allow them to air dry. The materials used for our rice cookers is the same in Asia, however, they tend to have softer water than in the US.
      Our Micom rice cookers will cook at the same rate as our higher end IH and Pressure IH. All our micro computerized rice cookers will soak, cook, and steam your rice to yield the best cooked rice. Now, IH and Pressure IH will improve the flavor and deliciousness of the rice because of the heating technology used. There is a noticeable difference in texture and flavor when tasting the rice. We hope this helps!

I transfer the already rinsed rice into the platinum pot. I also use soaking wet paper towels to wipe clean the pot. 1. That spot you mention? Where the current battery is HARD-SOLDERED to the circuit board? It could have been replaced by a coin-battery socket, where a coin battery could have easily been slipped out and a new one slipped in -- albeit under the LED display mounting frame.

      3. Oh, will your authorized service center replace the battery labor-free? Or will they charge me more than $100 to replace a $3 battery? And will it take more than a month to ship there, enter the repair queue, get repaired, and ship back to me? What do you want me to do in the meantime? MINUTE RICE?! You see my point?

    Can you still open the cooker while on pressure?

    • @ZojirushiAmerica
      @ZojirushiAmerica  3 роки тому +1

      The rice cooker will lock and not open while cooking with pressure. We don't recommend to open rice cookers while they are cooking rice as it will affect the cooking process. We hope this helps!

    I just ordered the NVC/10, not realizing their was a newer model out(NWC10). Would I still be able to cook Jasmine rice, Congee and Steal cut oatmeal, even tho it doesn't come with those extra settings?

      Hi Sidney! The NP-NVC10/18 is able to cook Jasmine rice and can make rice porridge but we don't recommend cooking steel cut oatmeal on this model. For more information on how to cook different grains in your rice cooker, please visit: www.zojirushi.com/grains/index.html We hope this helps!

    Is it possible to pressure boiling soy bean in this rice cooker ?

    • @ZojirushiAmerica
      @ZojirushiAmerica  Рік тому +1

      Hi there! This rice cooker uses pressure to cook rice but it's not a pressure cooker that can cook other foods. We don't recommend cooking anything other than the grains we have tested in the rice cooker. Otherwise, you run the risk of the rice cooker boiling over and causing damage to the internal components.

      @@freemax10 This rice cooker has a Reheat setting which is meant to be used with rice that has been kept in Keep Warm in the rice cooker. This setting will heat up the rice to the optimal serving temperature. Please note that this setting cannot be used to reheat rice from the fridge or rice that has been cooled completely. We bought this rice cooker a few months ago and last few weeks notice that moths are growing inside the panel. Called customer service and they said it is not covered under warranty. It is disgusting to see moths there when using it.

    I got this model very recent. How does AI come to play in this unit? Specifically how does it tell the rice it made was good and decide to replicate next time? If AI knows the rice was bad (mushy and broken grains) it made last time, will it not replicate next time?

    • @ZojirushiAmerica
      @ZojirushiAmerica  3 роки тому

      The AI will take ambient temperature and water in consideration when cooking rice. By doing this it will cook rice at the same consistency regardless of season, when ambient temperature and water will be affected.
