Hello! Anyone know what the inner pan is made of and with what is it coated? I cant find this information on any video, ad or reviews. Is it teflon? Thanks in advance!

The inner pan is made of aluminum with a non-stick coating containing PTFE- a material commonly used for non-stick coating in cookware for conventional kitchen use (FDA approved). Is this version better for keeping rice warm for an extended period? I am buying one to keep rice warm for honestly as long as possible due to time constraints and ease. I mainly make basmati rice. Also, would the 5 cup be sufficient for 1 person/ I don’t have to make two cups minimum for the 10cup? Sorry if this question is confusing!
Hi there! You can keep rice warm for up to 12 hours with this model using the Extended Keep Warm function to prevent it from drying out. However, we don't recommend keeping cooked rice in a rice cooker for more than 12 hours, as we can't guarantee its freshness after that. Our IH + Pressure models can keep certain settings warm for up to 24 hours. For basmati rice, you can cook a minimum of 1 cup in the 10-cup model, but a 5-cup rice cooker should be more than sufficient for one person. Hope this helps!

Using them with a voltage converter can damage the components. Additionally, after-purchase support, such as repairs, parts, and warranty, is not available overseas. We don’t recommend purchasing our products for use overseas.

When I asked Amazon for recommendations to ensure it would work, they sent numerous power converters and assured me that there would be no issues. So if I have a converter that is 1500W and converts 220V to 110V, what could be the problem? Why do these converters exist if you, as the manufacturer, do not recommend them? These were invented for this purpose, right?

Its a bit confusing, so when i already washed the rice, should i select Pre-washed rice or not ? Manual mentions it but not clear still. It says : "Pre-washed rice(Musenmai) is a new type of rice that does not require washing" meaning if your rice is Musenmai type of rice then just cup the rice out of its bag ,add water to the right level, next you have to select Pre-Washed rice for cooking. And that is it, let it cook. Am I missing the point ?
If you've already washed your rice, you don't need to select the pre-washed rice option. Just proceed with the regular rice cooking settings. The pre-washed rice option is specifically for Pre-washed rice (Musenmai) that doesn't require washing. Hope this helps!

Do you know why my Zojirushi NS ZCC10 rice cooker smell bad? After making the rice, leave it all night in the morning the rice have some bad. Where does the bad smell problem come from?
Hi there! This rice cooker is only able to keep rice in keep warm for 12 hours. Keeping rice longer than 12 hours, the rice may spoil which can leave an unpleasant odor in the rice cooker. If this has happened, you can try steam cleaning it by adding water up to the 2 line, no rice needed. Then, start a quick cooking setting. Once it's done, dispose of the water, clean the pan and inner lid, and wipe the rice cooker down. We would also strongly recommend on not keeping rice in the rice cooker for longer than 12 hours. For the Neuro Fuzzy® Rice Cooker & Warmer NS-ZCC10 (5.5 cup size), can I use only one cup of raw rice (using the included measuring cup)? On another blog, the person said that there was a two-cup minimum.

How do you replace the battery?
Hello, the battery is not replaceable and must be sent in to one of our authorized service centers. The rice cooker, however, can be used without the battery.
Hello, does this model of rice cooker have a steam collector? Where does the water from the condensation go? I have this rice cooker and i can't find any steam collector
Good morning, the NS-ZCC model does not have a removable dew collector. Any dew that is produced will pool in the inner lid or towards the back of the rice cooker.

Such a well designed machine. I just wish they could’ve used standard cup measurement. I’m worried I’m going to lose the measuring cup that came with it.
The measuring cup is about 6 oz or 3/4 of a regular cup. This measurement is based on a traditional rice measuring cup called a masu and this is why it's a little different than the regular measurement. But as long as you measure 3/4 of a cup it will all match up with the interior water measure lines. I hope this helps!

Hi there! Make sure the screen doesn't say Pre-Washed on the screen. If that is showing then press the PRE-WASHED button to turn it off. Once you do that, you will have access to the rest of the menu. How do you turn it on? Mine doesn’t turn on
Afte the course is selected, press the COOK or START button and it will turn on a little light. That means it's working. It will first soak the rice, then it will start to heat up and cook the rice. It may seem like it's not doing anything, but rest assured it's working on cooking your rice perfectly.
If your rice cooker doesn't respond or have a blank screen, then it would indicate that it needs inspection by an authorized service center. I would recommend getting in touch with our Customer Service Team for assistance: www.zojirushi.com/app/customer_service/entry

What setting should be used for basmati rice?
For the NS-ZCC model we recommend using the WHITE setting with 1-1/2 cups of water to 1 cup rice. For other models please refer to www.zojirushi.com/grains/
I had the NL-AAC10 model before (which I gave to a friend) and now I have the NS-ZCC18. Both do a great job at cooking perfect rice!

A 5 cup size model is great for families of 4 to 5 people. The 10 cup model is best for larger families or if you entertain a lot since it's able to cook a minimum of 2 cups but gives you the freedom of cooking more if you need it. I hope this helps!

what type of non stick material is the pot made of?
The cooking pan for our rice cookers are made with aluminum and have a nonstick coating over them. All the materials we use are carefully selected and tested to ensure they are of the highest quality. We hope this helps!
Anyone interested in this rice cooker would do well to search for videos regarding replacement of the onboard battery. It will stop working after a few years. Replacement should be done at a Zojirushi service center and is NOT cheap. That being said, it makes great rice of all types and oatmeal.
Will the rice cooker still work without the battery for cooking rice? Is it only the clock and timer that will stop functioning? Or will the whole rice cooker stop functioning without the battery?

Hi there! The rice cooker does not turn on on it's own. When plugged in please check that the "Keep Warm" light is not on. If all lights on the display are off then all you would do is press the menu button to select the correct cooking menu and then press "Cooking/Reheat" button. I cant speak for the new models, but my old one has lasted 10 years and still going. The downside is replacement parts like the main pan tend to be stupidly overpriced.
May I please ask you about what model to select? On your homepage, do you indicate that some of your other models without Neuro is superior in cooking rice, compared to the Neuro? I think of cooking for 1 person mostly but on rare occasion do I plan on making rice for 3 persons, I do mostly buy Jasmin rice, not sushi or brown rice. I do not plan on keeping the rice warm for more than max an hour, and I do not need to schedule my cooking beforehand. Hope you'll please help?
Hi there! The Neuro Fuzzy Rice Cooker is great at cooking rice and is beloved among our customers. The advantage of the Neuro Fuzzy technology is that it allows you to select the texture of the rice (hard, regular, soft) without you needing to make any adjustments for the water or quantity of rice. However, based on your needs a 3 cup rice cooker will be better suited for you. We would recommend the NS-LHC05, it has fuzzy logic technology, all your basic setting along with a dedicated Jasmine Rice setting. It can cook a small amount of rice for one person and the 3 cups of rice once cooked will roughly double in volume which is plenty for 3 people. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

What would the setting be for cooking Quinoa?
Quinoa hasn't been tested on this model. However, some of our customers have tried on their own and they use the white or quick setting while using a 1 cup of water for 1 cup of quinoa. Please note that when trying other grain that have not been tested there is always a risk that it may boil over so to start try cooking a small amount when testing. "Pre-washed" should only be used with "Rinse Free" rice which is a specially milled rice. If using regular rice that needs to be rinsed then the normal settings should be used. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

I can't help seeing a Hello Kitty head when I look at that appliance. I doubt I can make Spanish rice in this since that always involves sauteing the rice to brown it before cooking it like rice.

Hi Katrina, when cooking Jasmine rice we recommend to measure the water and rice using the rice measuring cup that is included with the rice cooker. For every cup of jasmine rice measured, 1 ¼ cup of water should be added. The rice should be cooked using the regular/sushi rice setting. Please ensure that the rice is rinsed before cooking to get rid of the excess starch that may cause it to be sticky. We hope this helps!

Hi Brie, for short grain white rice please select the REG/SUSHI setting. All of the selections on the left side of the display screen are for short/medium grain white rice.
I get the keep warm and re-heat functions of this cooker but what about the delay function? To use this feature I'd have to put rice and water together and leave it that way for up to 13 hours before cooking? I've never soaked rice for that long in cold water. Wouldn't it just dissolve?

Hello - I have recently purchased the Neuro Fuzzy Rice cooker and have some red and brown Jazmine Rice mix. I measured one cup using your clear measuring cup and poured water to the 1 cup line in the stainless bowl. After pressing the brown rice button on the menut then the cook button, it didn't let me know when the rice was done as there was no alarm sounding. Am I doing something wrong or do I have to guess when the rice is finished cooking?
Hi Katrina, the melody alert may have been turned off. Once the rice cooker is plugged in, press and hold the TIMER button and the melody sound should play. This will alert you the melody is on. is correct put the rice before the water? I always put the water first because the line for water will increase and show incorrect value since we are putting rice and water to measure just water...
Rice first, then water--the rice displaces some of the water, and the water lines in the pan account for this. If you put water first, then rice, you'll end up using more water than is called for. Hope this helps!
Add the rice first per the instructions. The water level marks inside the cooking vessel are calibrated to adjust for the volume of water displaced by the rice. If not to your liking, make a few test batches and adjust the water slightly each time. My preferred rice texture may not be the same as yours. Once you dial in your preference, the Zojirushi should be able to duplicate it perfectly. I love my Zojirushi rice cooker and, no, I do not work for the Zojirushi company- just a satisfied customer.
Cuckoo rice cookers look much better and I don't see why or how the Zojirushi has a "microcomputer" that thinks?
It depends on individual, Cuckoo Korean rice cookers tend to cook more softer and soggy rice, if you like soggy rice, definitely go for it. While Zojirushi goes for more towards Japanese and Chinese rice texture. Hope that helps :)
