Has anyone noticed that a chunk of Kings island coaster names are themed to Halloween/spooky things? Banshee Mystic Timbers The bat Flight of fear The beast (son of beast too ;( )
The shed is only bad if you allowed Kings Island to get your hopes up. Personally, I didn't expect anything more than some theming, and an animatronic tree to grab at the train, but I'll take an animation screen.
gplez91 If my little brothers favorite ride at kings island is Mystic Timbers, and his favorite part is the shed...does that mean he thinks that the best thing at kings island...is a break run?
I liked the music in the shed! (And the coke machine-) Also, I feel bad for everyone who had to wait in the normal line, I had Fast Lane and people were just glaring at us
I hadn’t read a review on Mystic Timbers before riding it and this review is 100 percent on point . My first ride was at night and it blew me away , totally exceeded my expectations.
In terms of marathoning it you just have to go on the right day. When I went to magic Mountain a couple weeks ago I got to stay in the seat on X2 because there were like 2 people in the station total. The other day I went during that trip it was a 3 hour wait.
Yeah, that’s kinda what everybody felt going into their first ride, but I can confirm that it’s worthy of a 10 rating. Especially on night rides when it really comes alive (just like Beast.)
I’ve noticed when going over footage of the shed that the animals you see in it are the animals from the other rides such as a bat and a diamondback and then you have the tree or “the mystic timber”
I'm glad Cedar Fair is still focusing on ride theming. Although I think Flight of Fear and Stunt Coaster are the "most themed" rides. Even though they were added in the Paramount days.
Rode it for the first time today, it was awesome, and yes the night ride is awesome, you can’t see anything, you don’t know when it’s gonna throw you into the turns or anything.
The racer, the beast, and mystic timbers. Three iconic rollercoasters from three different eras of woodie rollercoaster design, each of them amazing, and each of them at kings island!
Agreed, this was my fav coaster at KI. Hands down actually, nothing against Diamondback and esp Banshee but this was the most forceful and intense ride. Ya said it, does not stop from the moment you leave the life to hitting the breaks. Not every air time hill was ejector, but many were and at least every hill gave a pop. I really liked the combo of turns and hills. Great ride and a top 10 woodie for me
I still think every 100th (or however many) should have the radio in the shed crackle to life with “We’re no strangers to love” and the screen is the video for Never Gonna Give You Up. You’ve been Rick Rolled!
Agreed, best at KI. Not only did I find Diamondback and Banshee a tad less forceful than I expected but this ride is sick. From the drop to breaks does not let up once, tons of air, intense turns, very smooth.
I have not ridden mystic timbers yet and now I have my expectations up I wonder if it is better than lightning racer i cannot wait to ride this kings island is my home park and I have a ticket to go
I like Mystic Timbers never a dull moment very fast turns crazy airtime hills it never let up until the end however I had to agree with you Taylor the shed was just there to entertain during the break run overall a very good ride definitely one of my favorites at Kings Island highly recommended
This is so fun I rode this a few times but my complaints where long lines, you have to rent a locker, the funnel cake stand that used to be there sold my favorite menu item, and the new white water canyon entrance.
I hate wooden coasters, but this one is the smoothest one I've ever riden hands down. If you're worried you're gonna walk off beat up, don't because this was smoother than a lot steel coasters out there. Easily the best wooden coaster I've ever riden and one of the best coasters in the park.
Thekman26 not a big fan of flight of fear very rough coaster the launch is okay the first inversion things went downhill quick just got rough never going to ride flight of fear again
The problem with flight of fear is the ridiculously long line. Also, I prefer to see where I'm going. Have to say mystic timbers in way too overrated. Too short, spent most of the time in the shed. I really enjoy banshee, don't see where all the hate comes from.
i think it's a really fun intense ride. i was expecting the shed to be pretty stupid and it was! however, i don't discredit the coaster for that. the only thing that i was disappointed in was the airtime. people kept telling me there was massive airtime but i only got two mini bumps of airtime. it's super smooth and feels faster than 53 MPH. not my favorite ride in the park. banshee is probably my favorite and beast will always be my favorite woodie.
Totally agree with the shed at the end. On first ride I immediately turned to my ride partner and said "well that was the LAMEST, most non-climactic ending to a really GREAT ride". But whatever, like the reviewer said it's just to give you some eye candy while you are waiting on the brake run.
Personally, i prefer beast just because small airtime hills and trick tracks have never done too much for me, plus beast makes your feel like you are zooming through the forest more.
I’ll sum this up for you, Mystic Timber’s is a great ride. It has a lot of airtime! The shed was overhyped big time, I was a little disappointed thinking they would have the shed on the track somewhere and have a surprise you some sort. Instead the shed is just used for theme in the end.
i agree with you 100 percent!!!! the only problem I have is that the line is literally always semi long even when the park is empty?!?!?!?! i assume lines will go down in the next few years with some other additions. dude but when you put your hands up the whole ride its insane it throws you around so much its almost hard to keep your hands up lol
I'm a fan of terminator salvation at magic mountain because of his compact layout, it has a lot of bang for a very small space, so I guess "twister" layouts (as you put it) are *my* thing.
Honestly, Mystic Timbers is a really good ride and like you said, it's non-stop action from start to finish. I got to ride it 3 times while I was there and I wasn't disappointed. The only other GCI that I've ridden was Thunderhead at Dollywood, and I must say that Mystic Timbers is a better ride than Thunderhead. But comparing Mystic Timbers to The Beast is like comparing apples to oranges. It really depends on what you prefer in a wooden coaster experience.
I think I rode Mystic Timbers 5 times (Kings Island Isn't my Home Park, I've only been there twice and once was with Logan, where we weren't focusing on coasters but a slingshot be brace challenge) and four of those times I got the tree. Once the snake.
This ride was a pleasant surprise. The theming is a little cheesy but it’s pretty nice. The ride itself is very smooth, the seats are pretty comfortable, and the layout is fantastic. I enjoy the speaker up the hill, although it is quite slow at first. The air time is great, and it fells a lot faster than 53 mph. The only complaint I have about it is “The Shed”. It takes up some extra ride time, which makes the line slower, all for a lame jumpscare. Overall, pretty great though. I would say it’s it’s better than the Beast during the day, but after riding the Beast at 11:00 p.m. with the moon right between the lights at the top of the hill, I still think the Beast offers a slightly better night ride.
Personally, rode it for the first time last week. It's a good ride, but nothing over the top. That first drop caught me by surprise, because I rode it at night. I just remember that once the ride started to get fun, I enter the shed. Not a bad ride, but not the greatest either. I preferred The Beast tbh
I think the term #whatsintheshed is referring to which creature is going to be on the screen when you enter. If you think of it that way, it makes sense! ;)
I just got back from King's Island and I agree, better than the Beast. I rode Mystic like ten times (yay fast pass) and loved every ride. The Beast I rode three times, and hated myself after the last two. Is the Beast iconic? Yes. Is it good? Well, it's bumpy.
I rode Mystic Timbers three times and got all three of the animals. Is it possible that each train gets a different monster? I noticed when I was in the green train that I got the tree, brown train I got the snake, and the blue train I got the bat. In my opinion, Mystic Timbers isn't talked about enough in the coaster community. I LOVE IT! I'm hoping it ages a lot better than Prowler at Worlds of Fun. But then again, Kings Island takes great care of their other wood coasters.
C Rizzy some salt included I’m guessing? You’re absolutely crazy to say a glorified family coaster. I’ve come across so many coaster enthusiast and not one in person could tell me that mystic timbers wasn’t a solid coaster and possibly the best at the park. Granted you may have put your expectations WAY to high but I digress. I only accuse you of some salt because you’re running around trying to tell everyone of how lousy a ride it is and no one does that unless salt is included.
My next big trip in early august will begin at Kings Island on August 9. Guess where I'm heading first :) I may not have a full night ride because KI closes at 8 but I'll have a pretty awesome sunset ride, if possible.
I rode for the first time over weekend at night...i would suggest do this as a night ride for anyone riding it for first time..you never know what is going happen next
Ok, I personally like the Beast personally. However it's great that you enjoy it better than everything else at Kings Island. Everyone has a different view of roller coasters and life. Taylor: “It’s the most themed ride at King’s Island, second being Banshee.”
Backlot Stunt Coaster and Flight of Fear: “Am I a joke to you?”
Heck even adventure express is almost more themed then Banshee (if the effects still worked)
What about Orion?
@@kotchapakmaneechote2062 consider when the video was made...
The other one (because there are two if the same at kings island a dominion): YEAH
Yeah i was about to see flight of fear seems way more themed
Has anyone noticed that a chunk of Kings island coaster names are themed to Halloween/spooky things?
Banshee
Mystic Timbers
The bat
Flight of fear
The beast (son of beast too ;( )
onlyonerichie Flight of Fear was there long before Cedar Fair took over though. Plus, it has an extraterrestrial theme.
onlyonerichie ikr
Diamondback
Evan Bell agreed.
Woodstock Express
Double camel back trick track reminds me of the Storm Chaser element names.
HEHEHE I AM A SUPAH FLYING ACE yup
throw me through a trick track double up and a corked roll!
Double camelback trick track? This isn't RMC.
What a toung twister

Yeah the shed sucked with the build up leading into it and I expected better with how the lines are
I liked the music in the shed! (And the coke machine-)
Also, I feel bad for everyone who had to wait in the normal line, I had Fast Lane and people were just glaring at us
This coaster is the prime example that height does not matter
A little late but, I rode this in the front row and it felt HUGE!
@@johnsweeney4371 I'm also late but ride it in the back row, the air time is unreal!!!!!
@@k.olimitless723 I have
@@johnsweeney4371 that's good, have you gotten any back row rides at night? Those are my it's my second favorite night ride behind the beast

Mystic Timbers is the best ride at Kings Island and one of my favorite coasters period i've ever rode. I was never terrified just a complete joy ride.

I rode this during winter fest and it was amazing it was cold and dark outside which made this ride incredible
I wasn't expecting a perfect score!
Yeah, that’s kinda what everybody felt going into their first ride, but I can confirm that it’s worthy of a 10 rating. Especially on night rides when it really comes alive (just like Beast.)
Back row on a night ride is epic. I love this layout.
I rode it for the first time today and couldn't agree more. Best ride in park.

I just rode this and it was AMAZING! I rode it three times and got the bats every time. I thought it was EASILY the best in the park.
Bro the most themed ride at Kings Island is Flight of Fear lol, there's an entire spaceship interior and stuff
I feel this is one of the best themed coasters in cedar fair

My favorite part is when the guy says don't go in the sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeed! And then the lift hill boosts you up really fast!
It's a really awesome ride!!! I loved it lots and lots of airtime.!!!
Finally got to ride this last week. It's fantastic.
Mystic timbers was amazing! It's my second favorite coaster in the park!
The funny thing is that one year ago today I was at cedar point and so was you!I couldn't find you.

4:20 What about the two Premier Rides at the park?
I think flight of fear is the second most themed
Is it just me or does the themeing on mystic seem super similar to verbolten?
CoasterPro Yeah, kind of. There both in a similar style but I wouldn't say there really similar
As riding both and having both at home parks (yes that means I moved) I’ve always called mystic timbers the American verbolten in terms of theme
CoasterPro not really because there's Hardly any theming on this
I rode Mystic Timbers this summer. I wouldn't give it a 10. But It's at least an 8. The shed was disappointing, but the ride was just CRAZY!
