This was actually my first roller coaster ever. I rode it in 2013 when they had the older restraints and I didn't mind them. The line had a 5-10 minute wait, so I was SO lucky.
I’m going to have to do that to my sister, an 8 year old coaster enthusiast who for the first year can ride Maverick, Wicked Twister, Gatekeeper, and of course Steel Vengeance
The heartline roll after the launch was not removed due to technical issues. It was removed because Sandor Kernacs rode it after course completion and he passed out from it's intensity so they removed it two weeks prior to opening day.
soooo one person passed out ? that's it? i know it's not the same -- passing out is an actual health concern -- but ive blacked out (i'd call it a grey out but i literally couldn't see at all--everything went full black) on some many rides, like on millennium force, and it's just something you deal with...if you actually pass out, just don't go on it again...?...like i know heartline rolls are intense or something, but aren't they supposed to to keep you from passing out/greying out? or am i wrong.....idk i feel like that dude just had other health issues going on....but i wouldn't know, as ive never been on maverick when it had that element
Chris Bilbrey According to cedar point, it was removed due to excessive stress on the wheels of the front car of the train which would have required frequent replacement
I recommend riding this either as a single rider or going in a group of three. People like riding together, so you can usually jump a large portion of the line when they ask for a single rider and you speak up! Also, I think the key to this ride being so awesome is that instead of just banking right or left, it acts like it's banking right before actually banking left and vise versa!
Up until 2015 this was my second favorite, with millennium beating it only because of the restraints. When I rode it in 2015 for the first time, it immediately went to the top of my list.
I agree about it being the perfect coaster. What's not to like about it. Been going to Cedar point since 1979 one of the best additions they did there. Great videos keep up the great work.
I just rode this coaster and let me tell you. Most intense ride I have had in my life. Loved it. My friend didn't tell me about the beyond vertical drop and it caught me off guard but I loved it 😂
A few years ago, they had even more theming in the tunnel. There used to be train crossing lights just before the launch, with a long row of mine themed lights on each side of the track during the launch. No idea why they got rid of those lights, but i miss them.
I'm from the Sandusky area, so of course I hadn't been there in probably 16 years. I worked for a company that made deliveries around the back of the park, and would get excited seeing the rides as I'd drive around to the back. The first few years Maverick was there, I didn't know what it was called, but it looked so frigging awesome. I finally got to ride it 2 years ago, and I didn't know anything about it, but it's my favorite now. Meanstreak used to be my favorite. I've liked wooden coasters.
I hadn't rode a coaster in 15 years prob. this was my 2nd followed by the gate keeper and it was dark. I never even seen the track before i got on it, besides what you could see by waiting in line. It was 11pm so it wasn't much, and I didn't know what to expect. The g-force is off the wall crazy. can't believe it is only 105 ft tall ....very very awesome ride. def my fav from cedar point. it throws you one way then the next, and the long wait in line is worth is for the 2:30 ride, when some of the others are only 17 secs. totally awesome coaster. i give it a 10 too!!
I've ridden it with the hard restraints. That was painful! It made me not want to ride it again, but I gave it another chance after I heard they made some changes. So much better! I love this ride!
and here we are, 8 years later, and this thing would still get people hyped to try it out if it was built today. not too bad for a 100 feet coaster imo 😀
I went to Cedar Point this last weekend!! June of 2017. I totally agree with your review. I had the fast pass with my daughter and her other half. I totally love this coaster. I wish king island had an intamin coaster. But the size of millennium force just takes my breath away. I can't wait to ride Intimadator 305 at the Dominion!!
+Moreitsdavid I guess though there is the technical terming of "launch" and then just the subjective experience. I agree that it doesn't really "feel" like launch, it's a little slow. But the second launch is a launch.
It's my #1 favorite ride ever!!! Now, trying to talk my son into it because he's tall enough this year!! He got on his first big ride which was Maxair(140ft in the air) so I'm being hopeful 😁
Not the tallest or fastest, but one of my favorite coasters! Truly felt like I was riding a miniature version of Intimidator 305 because of the rapid speed going up the lift hill and then the sudden banking turns, but dare I say more of an overall fun ride. Now, can you imagine if if it had an even taller drop with that angle and a faster speed? Hahahahaha
I rode this with the hard restraints and it's my #2 behind I305, but this could become my new #1 if I end up riding it with the new soft restraints. Also @ 1:34 it's not one of the most forceful coasters at CP, it's THE most forceful one of them all.
I just rode this on my first trip to Cedar Point last week, and idk what people are talking about with these soft restraints, because this was one of the most uncomfortable rides I've ever had. Felt like getting karate-chopped in the side of the neck about a dozen times.
The view is so nice in this video with that boat in the background..Perfect location for a rollercoaster..I shall see what this ranks with me when I take my trip to Ohio this summer will any of the rollercoasters over throw my #1 and #2 spot in [1]Iron gwazi, and [2] Goliath (sfog)we shall wait and see...
A few years ago, the tunnel had a fair amount of theming. There were train crossing lights when you entered the tunnel that even had the bell sound effects, and when you launched there were mine shaft lights that lined the tunnel all the way to the end. They also used to play old western music in the station. I wish they'd bring it all back.
This ride is friggin AWESOME! I've been on this twice and both times I came off it screaming "hell yeah!" It is such a rush, and provides great intensity. It may even be more forceful than Skyrush! The restraints are awesome and comfortable too. They do not subtract from the ride at all. I remember when I took my little brother to this ride. He came off screaming "That was a GOOD pony!!" The things adrenaline rushed 12 year olds say...
The thing I like about this roller coaster is that it’s unexpected it stops the ride in a tunnel, completely, and out of nowhere you hear noises and light starts flashing then you blast 70 mph
Coaster Studios the last time I went to cedar point it was a rainy Thursday with no lines. I was able to ride this particular one 5 TIMES in a row without any sort of wait. Only stopped riding it to meet up with another friend
I went to Cedar Point last year, and the ride had a 2 hour line every 3 days i was there, even the FAST LANE was 30 minutes, but get the fast lane, even if you dont, ride it its AWESOME
First ride of the day, Shooting up the hill with the morning breeze rolling off the lake; forget about it, best terra coaster ever. Although at the end of the ride, while waiting to get off, there is some element of thigh torture after the rough ride as the bar does tighten.
The turn after the launch can be a little shacky on the head in the back because of the forces but other than that silk smooth (OMG IM IN LOVE WITH THE AIRTIME ON THE FIRST DROP) I deffinetly recommend rifding this in the back
the first time i been on this is may of 2019 i didnt expect the launch to be that forceful! but ive been on it like 30 ish times!!!! kind of better then steel vengeance, but im just gonna go with the more popular vote SV! i have 100 credits!!!
This is my favorite ride there I was pleasantly surprised by it. it may not be tall but it packs a lot in quickly and I too was surprised by the second launch.
Yes I’ve rode Maverick and it is AMAZING I do wish I’ve road it with those hard restraints just to say i did it with them but yeah 10/10 rollercoaster 🎢
first time I road it I didn't know about the launch and was pleasantly surprized. cedar point is 1 of my favorite park's other than kings island just bc its my home park. nostalgic. but I do like cedar points focus on thrills
My favorite coaster! 😃 it is awesome and despite of it not being very tall, it packs a lot of punches which makes it super thrilling. If you've never been to Cedar Point before and you do end up going there, I highly recommend this. Especially at night
I do plan on riding this coaster on Friday at least once. I do remember it being very forceful, so, for me, it's a once per visit ride. But, still good. 😊
I rode the Maverick on it's opening year, with the third inversion and it's hard restraints. I loved the ride then and I would love it even more now. The only reason It's not my favorite is probably because I rode Bizzaro @ Six Flags New England often, because it's my home park.
That is a bad ass ride...also it should note....that the s curves are part of the downwards of the hill...until you hit that air time hill as i call the jump....cause it feels like a jump....and it hits the top of that banked curve quick after that launch....it used to stop in the tunnel when it first opened....
I used to think this was nothing special and didn't like the old neck breaker restraints but with the intimidator style straps I loved it the last time I rode it, I was only able to ride it once the last time but I was very impressed with the strap restraints (also why I love intimidator now)
I love Maverick, it was the second coaster I've ever rode. But Millennium Force is number 1 to me still idk why it just got me more excited but I do love Maverick.
Last year I brought my friend to Cedar Point and we decided to ride Maverick first since we had early entry. Well, she wasn't ready. We hadn't ridden it yet and we thought she would be okay, she wasn't. She closed her eyes the whole time and when it finally got dark and we slowed down. She was relieved, but right when she had a moment to catch a breath, the 70 mph launch started. I felt so bad for her and the only thing she would ride after that was Iron Dragon.
Before when they had the hard restraints, I wasn't a big fan of this ride because it kind of beat you up. But once they put the soft restraints on it, it was incredible how much better and more re-rideable it was! I have always gotten off this ride cracking up at what insanity I just went through :D I still like Millennium and Dragster better, because on Dragster that launch is unbelievable (although Maverick's ultra forceful launch in the tunnel didn't disappoint!) and I'm a sucker for speed and height, and because on Millennium it's just so much fun to feel the wind in your face for such a long time, and it has lap bars instead of OTSRs, and that first drop OMG (even though it sometimes makes me gray out, but not as much as Gatekeeper's first drop), but for me Maverick is right behind those at #3! Excited to see where Steel Vengeance will land! Hoping to make it up there next year I live in FL and didn't make it this past season… (sad face)
I was on cheetah hunt a few weeks ago and those restraints kill your shoulders, especially if you keep your hands up. Wish cheetah hunt had more than one inversion though, Maverick is a bucket list ride for me now.
you experience the most force on this ride when it comes into the break run and realize how tight the harness is pushing down onto your legs and you cant move for a minute
Intamin Blitz coasters are the best type of coasters. I've haven't ridden this one but Taron in Europe is the fastest Blitz coaster and it is my favorite ride so far. It doesn't have a 95% angle drop tho.
I didn't tell my dad about the second launch section on Full Throttle. Holy crap was he surprised! He thought the ride broke down. We still talk about it.
Now frontier town is the best area in the world because the two best rides are at frontier town
Craig Westlake steel vengeance
CoasterRyan amen
Personally I prefer millennium force over maverick
Yasss
Hopefully cp never builds with b&m again!
so what you're saying is, Lightning Rod doesn't have launch but rather a fast lift hill
+CoastersNGames Lol it bugged me that he didn't call it a launch
+Skyler Powers it's an lsm lift hill and last time i checked lsms are used to launch
Bedholm Exactly
Skyrush=fast lift
Maverik and Lightning Rod=launch lift
rollercoasterfan2000 I'm just using CS's logic. Ik that Maverick and Lightning Rod's lifts are launches
This was actually my first roller coaster ever. I rode it in 2013 when they had the older restraints and I didn't mind them. The line had a 5-10 minute wait, so I was SO lucky.
The best thing about this coaster..... It's part of Cedar Point's early entry program! And Steel Vengeance!
This coaster has a wonderful feeling that I love each time I ride it. It's my favorite coaster at cedar point
Yes! Perfect 10!! Maverick for the win.
The U.S. needs another Intamin blitz coaster....somewhere, anywhere.
Gabriel Trejo put it at kennywood so I can be close and because it doesn’t require a huge layout. I feel the same about Gerstlauers.
Cheetah Hunt?
PointlessPickle2 its a family coaster tho 😥
Pantheonnnnnnnnnnn
Velocicoaster
I purposely didn't tell my sister about the launch and she freaked out.
Craig Zorzy I did the same thing to my dad
RICHEY099 i did the same to my friend and he was scared of coasters lmao
Craig Zorzy You can hear it while you are waiting in line. IDK how anyone can be surprised by it.
My dad somehow found out! :D
That's genuinely interesting
soooo one person passed out ? that's it? i know it's not the same -- passing out is an actual health concern -- but ive blacked out (i'd call it a grey out but i literally couldn't see at all--everything went full black) on some many rides, like on millennium force, and it's just something you deal with...if you actually pass out, just don't go on it again...?...like i know heartline rolls are intense or something, but aren't they supposed to to keep you from passing out/greying out? or am i wrong.....idk i feel like that dude just had other health issues going on....but i wouldn't know, as ive never been on maverick when it had that element
This is maverick, not I305
Oh dang
Chris Bilbrey According to cedar point, it was removed due to excessive stress on the wheels of the front car of the train which would have required frequent replacement
My Review for Maverick
Speed 9/10
Height 5/10
Launch 10/10
Intensity 10/10
Inversions 7/10
Drop 10/10
Overall Experience 10/10
My #1 coaster
+Waffle180 The restraints are painful on my legs.
Bioshock Infinite I was looking for someone else to say that. The new restraints hurt like hell
Waffle180 I give you right when you make it to the top and look down it is scary for the 2nd and when going down the hill you feel a lot of force
And male!!!!
I rode maverick for the first time yesterday. It’s amazing!
Maverick is my favorite ride ever. It's so fun start to finish.
Up until 2015 this was my second favorite, with millennium beating it only because of the restraints. When I rode it in 2015 for the first time, it immediately went to the top of my list.
Favorite coaster I have ridden. Glad you like it.
Maverick is my favorite coaster of all time!
This is still my favorite coaster. I freaking love this thing!
Awesome coaster review! Maverick is indeed one of my coaster favorites! :-)
+BryceFourn 2001 Maverick is the best coaster ever. it is very inste best coatens, no wonder talor sied that it is the best coaster in cedar point
COASTER IS FLAWLESS
Maverick is the greatest coaster in the world. I would be shocked if anything topped this one in the future, so far no one has.
I305, that's it.
Opinions
Flying Aces.
DeliriousOne Mhhm. Flying Aces might be the best Intamin coaster in the world when it opens this year.
+Ccsc918 dude, have you heard of Leviathan. BEST RIDE EVER
I agree about it being the perfect coaster. What's not to like about it. Been going to Cedar point since 1979 one of the best additions they did there. Great videos keep up the great work.
Why is it so damn good to look at? I could watch this thing go around all day!
I just rode this coaster and let me tell you. Most intense ride I have had in my life. Loved it. My friend didn't tell me about the beyond vertical drop and it caught me off guard but I loved it 😂
I liked this coaster. It has alot of extras like tunnels, water, fast take off ect.. The landscape around it is cool. This ride is pretty smooth too
A few years ago, they had even more theming in the tunnel. There used to be train crossing lights just before the launch, with a long row of mine themed lights on each side of the track during the launch. No idea why they got rid of those lights, but i miss them.

I've been on Maverick, I agree, it is an awesome coaster. It is my number three favorite roller coaster of all time. Number 1 is Millennium Force.
LOVE maverick! Can't wait to go back to cedar point this summer
I'm riding it this season! It's my first time riding it even though CP is my home park lol!
and here we are, 8 years later, and this thing would still get people hyped to try it out if it was built today. not too bad for a 100 feet coaster imo 😀
Nice slo-mo @3:40.
I rode this coaster MANY of times and I was at CP on 7/20/2021 and it’s still amazing
I went to Cedar Point this last weekend!! June of 2017. I totally agree with your review. I had the fast pass with my daughter and her other half. I totally love this coaster. I wish king island had an intamin coaster. But the size of millennium force just takes my breath away. I can't wait to ride Intimadator 305 at the Dominion!!
why do you call it a fast lift hill? it uses LIM so that means its a launch?
Dollywood new rmc coaster is being called a launched coaster and I believe the launch is going to be the same speed as this coaster.
+Moreitsdavid it is a launch, it uses LSm staters to propel to the top. LSM and LIM staters are considered launches
thats what i though. So if taylor thinks that this is a fast lift hill, lightning rod must not be a launched woodie :P
+Moreitsdavid by his logic, yeah haha
+Moreitsdavid I guess though there is the technical terming of "launch" and then just the subjective experience. I agree that it doesn't really "feel" like launch, it's a little slow. But the second launch is a launch.
What a fantastic roller coaster! The tunnel launch is my favorite part of the ride.
It's my #1 favorite ride ever!!!
Now, trying to talk my son into it because he's tall enough this year!! He got on his first big ride which was Maxair(140ft in the air) so I'm being hopeful 😁
Boy, has your voice changed over these 6 years. Go back and listen to them. Maverick is very aggressive, I love it.
I'm going to cedar point this summer and I'm soooo pumped for this ride
Maverick is my all time favorite!
where on earth did you get the 4.5G stat I can't find it anywhere?
Not the tallest or fastest, but one of my favorite coasters! Truly felt like I was riding a miniature version of Intimidator 305 because of the rapid speed going up the lift hill and then the sudden banking turns, but dare I say more of an overall fun ride. Now, can you imagine if if it had an even taller drop with that angle and a faster speed? Hahahahaha
the g forces would knock you out.
Those inversions are insane and the 2nd stengel dive is the best
I rode it 5 times and I agree, its the best in the park
Steven Lukes I’ve only rode it once and it’s one of my 2 faves, the other being millennium
What are the two inversions at the end called? They seem to flip the riders halfway and then go back again. So cool!
Most amazing coaster I've ridden. It's bananas.
They did bring it back in 2018. Ik this comment is 5 years old but I’m glad they did
This ride is friggin AWESOME!
I rode this for the first time on July 5th this year. It was intense but in a fun way. I rode the very back and loved it.
I really wish more parks would get these...blitz are right up there with B&M hypers and RMCs as my favorite coaster type!
Coaster Studios the last time I went to cedar point it was a rainy Thursday with no lines. I was able to ride this particular one 5 TIMES in a row without any sort of wait. Only stopped riding it to meet up with another friend
The longest I’ve waited for a before maverick was 40 minutes.. in 2007 I waited 98 minuets for this. 100% worth it
Great review of a great coaster. I'm just hoping Cedar Point opens, cause our first trip will be in June, with 5 or 6 more planned, ( like every year)
Currently my favorite coaster that i have ridden
Me: I want to go on Maverick again
My Mom: no it is to long of a wait
Me: but it is only 2 hours the ride is that good
I went to Cedar Point last year, and the ride had a 2 hour line every 3 days i was there, even the FAST LANE was 30 minutes, but get the fast lane, even if you dont, ride it its AWESOME
Awesome coaster!!! Second position after steel vengeance at cedar point
First ride of the day, Shooting up the hill with the morning breeze rolling off the lake; forget about it, best terra coaster ever. Although at the end of the ride, while waiting to get off, there is some element of thigh torture after the rough ride as the bar does tighten.
First time I went on, when we came to the launch it stopped so I thought it was over when we just shot through
Can't wait to go there this august and ride this plus vengance
The turn after the launch can be a little shacky on the head in the back because of the forces but other than that silk smooth (OMG IM IN LOVE WITH THE AIRTIME ON THE FIRST DROP) I deffinetly recommend rifding this in the back
My favorite ride
the first time i been on this is may of 2019 i didnt expect the launch to be that forceful! but ive been on it like 30 ish times!!!! kind of better then steel vengeance, but im just gonna go with the more popular vote SV! i have 100 credits!!!
Favorite coaster to this day!
This is my favorite ride there I was pleasantly surprised by it. it may not be tall but it packs a lot in quickly and I too was surprised by the second launch.
I remember those old restraints and they actually bruised me. I hurt so bad.
My favorite ride at cedar point is Maverick I love the pacing
Magnum is one of my favorites and is very tense and the drop is awesome
That is a bad ass ride...also it should note....that the s curves are part of the downwards of the hill...until you hit that air time hill as i call the jump....cause it feels like a jump....and it hits the top of that banked curve quick after that launch....it used to stop in the tunnel when it first opened....
I used to think this was nothing special and didn't like the old neck breaker restraints but with the intimidator style straps I loved it the last time I rode it, I was only able to ride it once the last time but I was very impressed with the strap restraints (also why I love intimidator now)
maverick is my favorite roller coaster at cedar point
I love Maverick, it was the second coaster I've ever rode. But Millennium Force is number 1 to me still idk why it just got me more excited but I do love Maverick.
Last year I brought my friend to Cedar Point and we decided to ride Maverick first since we had early entry. Well, she wasn't ready. We hadn't ridden it yet and we thought she would be okay, she wasn't. She closed her eyes the whole time and when it finally got dark and we slowed down. Rode this for the first time yesterday!
coaster studios i love your channel i haven't gotten a chance to post anything yet but to have any recommendations like video editors to use?
I LOVE THIS RIDE
You would love nemesis at Alton towers if you love intensity, back to back inversions and rides that are close to the ground!
0:38 awww Mavie Mav hill!!!😍😍😍❤❤❤❤❤
Imo, best Coaster in the world! :D
I was on cheetah hunt a few weeks ago and those restraints kill your shoulders, especially if you keep your hands up. Wish cheetah hunt had more than one inversion though, Maverick is a bucket list ride for me now.
This ride has great theming for a Cedar Fair coaster. It has the canyons during the ride and the queue is also themed.
+Mohamed Alemara I wasn't able to experience the queue because I had fast lane passes when I went
***** LMAOO
Mavrick gives the best night ride in my opinon
Yeah it has a great night ride
Night ride in the back is THE TEA!!!
Agree this is near perfect to what a coaster should be.
you experience the most force on this ride when it comes into the break run and realize how tight the harness is pushing down onto your legs and you cant move for a minute
Intamin Blitz coasters are the best type of coasters. I've haven't ridden this one but Taron in Europe is the fastest Blitz coaster and it is my favorite ride so far. It doesn't have a 95% angle drop tho.
Nah B&M gigas are better
I didn't tell my dad about the second launch section on Full Throttle. Holy crap was he surprised! He thought the ride broke down. We still talk about it.
My dream coaster---bucket list
What is the blitz coaster's objective? For example inverts are made for inversions
Best Ride at Cedar Point
RobloxiCraft :D clearly wilderness run is better. You get to go around twice so it's automatically the best coaster there
Best ride I've ever ridden. Better than Millennium Force by a little, mostly because of intensity.
