i love watching unhauls, i think they're super cathartic! also i think it's really healthy that you're just getting rid of stuff that isn't calling to you? reading is so subjective always, plus you also never know if years down the road the book will come back around to you again. (also watching this reminded me of two books on my own tbr that i now am like, okay, i if i don't get to those in the next few months they're getting unhauled too LOL)
I love/hate decluttering my books. I usually end up donating them to my local library so it’s sad to see my money wasted but at the same time it’s great to see more space on my shelf😂 plus my library is tiny and can really use the donations for the book sale they do twice a year
oof i’ve never unhaul books before because im lowkey proud of owning & collecting a loy of books, but like at the moment my shelves are SO FULL and im lowkey contemplating on unhauling
Honestly I totally understand because I felt the exact same way; I had a crap-ton of books and I didn’t want to get rid of any of them becasue I was proud of the mass collection that I had. But let me tell you; unhauling books is probably the most satisfying thing I’ve done becasue not only do I have shelf space to buy more books to add to my collection, but my collection is now only filled with books that I like and that make me happy; which is much more rewarding (to me) than having a mass of books that I don’t really care about. If you’re considering unhauling your shelves, I say do it. You’re gonna end up building back you collection anyways.
I'm moving into my sister's big room as she has moved out so before I get new bookshelves, I started going through my books of what I don't want and I feel so happy right now that I'm finally getting rid of some. I'm now getting rid of The Selection series by Kiera Cass because I loved the first three but I hated the last two and I don't really want to keep the series so thank god it's going out xxx
For Christmas I am giving a couple of my own books to my sister because either I own multiple copys of a book or I just don't want to own that particular book anymore because I either hate it or just don't want to own it.
I unhaul books pretty regularly because I’m constantly bringing in books or receiving them as gifts. It always feels so good to me to know they’re going to a better home
I recently unhauled a whole bunch of books too and idk, to me getting rid of stuff always feels so freeing. So I hope it had the same effect on you and you can go into the new year without being weighed down 💓
This video helps me a lot. I always see unhauls and think ‘I’m never doing that why would I get rid of any of my books, I want to have a library of books!’ Flash forward to me having a library of books and no shelf space for new ones. Now I get it and find myself considering finding books to unhaul. I’m still hesitant and hate to do it but your video helps me realize I also have some I’m holding onto that I KNOW I’m not going to read. Maybe I’ll go through my shelves to see what sticks out to unhaul...
I feel your pain. I did that myself resently and my husband literally bear hugged me lol and then he told me it was okay. Ahhhh, that sounds so bad...but he so got me. I understand.
Omg The Knife of Never Letting Go is one of my favorites ever!! Highly recommend picking up those newer editions you like so you can give it a try 😉 there’s also a movie with Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley coming out based on that book!
It's absolutely fantastic that you are doing this. I unhauled books this year and felt sooooo much better, because I no longer feel pressured. Also you won't feel it at first, but you will see that after all there are some books that you just don't really want to read. All the best ❤
I need to do this, I keep buying books but not reading the ones I already have. I also have a problem letting go to books I enjoyed when I was younger but know I’ll never read again. I still have books I read when I was in 7th grade, I just graduated from my 4th year college so I’ve had them for a long while now.
I needed to see this lol. It is so freeing to get rid of stuff you realize you don't need around. Glad you found a way to get some extra shelf room. Merry Christmas Eve Eve!
I used to get so many books and eventually I had way too many books that I seemed to want but never really read. I got rid of the majority of them (from 4 large bookshelves to 1 large and 1 small) and now only have the ones I really love. On another note I had lost my passions for reading after graduating from University a few years ago (reading too many things I was forced to I guess) and just started reading again and I love it. Now I’m rebuilding my book collection but I’m much more selective about what I buy and what actually earns a place on my bookshelf. I only want a book on my shelf if it truly adds value to my life, like my Nancy Drew books.
My Plain Jane is hilarious, but the audio is on Scribd and it's much better to hear it than read it. (It's *kind of* Jane Eyre. Kind of. Very loosely. You def. don't need to read JE before it.) I always feel about a million times better after a book unhaul. It's like I have a set amount of mental RAM in my head-processor, and too big of a TBR "file" makes it overload and I can't fully enjoy everything thinking of the giant list of things I have left. Go you for clearing the decks! :)
I just unshelved 60 books and it was the best thing I've ever done! Also In defense of Stars Above, one story, The Little Android, is my favorite thing Marissa Meyer has written so far.
And the Tamora Pierce is the first in a series, and personally the best introductory series into her world. She writes multiple series in her own fantasy world, but you don't need to have read anything else by her. She is an oldie but a goodie!!!! I know you said not to recommend you to keep them, but this one... it's so so so good!!
Letting books go that you wont read or read again is a good thing so the books can find their way to a new home! I try to go throw the mountains of books and donate so many if I know I dont like them or if it's a one and done. It gets easier!
It is absolutely normal to do unhaul don't feel bad about it, I also have space issue in my bookshelves si I get rid of some books quite often and if it can be read by others it is a win win 😊! Quite curious to see the link where you'll sell them. I'm in Belgium so the shipping would be expensive but it can give good ideas. BTW I don't know a lot of books that you showed! The casual vacancy was a fail for me, I was so disappointed about it, just glad that we have fantastic beasts now. I heard a lot of good reviews for raven boys I need to give it a try. I've seen the musical play of wicked in London it was so great that I want to read the original book now. Thanks for sharing!
I just gave up like 50+ books over the weekend. My interests have changed a lot in the past year and I don’t keep thinks that “don’t spark joy”. So time to get rid of some things.
I recommend you to get to Stars Above! Maybe in an audiobook format. It's a beautiful complement and gets you a little deeper in the Lunar Chronicles world 🥰
Diya Qaim I don’t know if you haven’t found it yet, but if you Google “Maggie Stiefvater and Halsey” then the first link should tell you everything :) It happened a while ago (about 4 years ago now).
I recently donated about 38 books from my personal library 📚. The haul included anything from already read books that I know I will not reread and books that have been gifted to me but did not hold my attention. I’m sure these books will be better off in another bookworms library 😊 I made the donation to my local library.
I’ve read Digital Fortress from someone. I say I am having second thoughts if I wanted to buy that book and ended buying from a book sale. I will give another try because I didn’t like it as well, but there still a second chance. :)
It was about 4 years ago but fans of the Raven Cycle kept tweeting at Maggie and mentioning Halsey's song Drive because it reminded them of a Blue+Gansey scene and I guess she got sick of it and finally responded by saying "You know she's not talking about driving a Camero right?" And proceeded to make jokes about how her fans should have their parents explain sex education to them and mocked Halsey's recent breakup at the time, along with other things. Edit: This page actually laid it all out. ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/97809482.html
@@forever.farrell wow. I dont like halsey's music at all nor have I read any maggie's books but in this case she behave like a child. I wish one day people make a better use of social media
I think I also need to get rid of some of the books I know I won't be picking up anytime soon, and I also need some more shelf space haha.. Also, I hope you really put them up on depop or some sort of online store thing. I would love to grab some of the books you are unhauling! :))
A lot of the books I own are a hit or miss with me I read them once and I just don't ever plan on reading them ever again so yeah I've Un-halled quite a few of them they usually end up at the local goodwill for others to enjoy or a family yard sale
I finally did an unhaul at the beginning of this fall and got rid of 75 books. Now that I've ripped off the bandaid, I've had an easier time giving away books that I don't want.
I love you. I can’t believe that I’m the first viewer. I just wanna say I love u and ur channel so much and I want you to please carry on forever because ur content is so pleasing. Love 💕 ya
I unhauled a lot of my books once because I knew I wouldn't read them. I felt good doing it for a while, but I kind of regret donating some of them cos now I keep wanting to read it lol. Like I unhauled twilight series but I wish I kept that

Black Widow by Margaret Stohl was GARBAGE! I borrowed it from a friend because she loved it and haaaaaaated it. Romanoff was beyond out of character throughout. I was thinking, ‘has Stohl ever read or watched a Marvel comic/movie?’ Heart of Iron was decent. I did enjoy it but there were parts of it that I felt were straight out of the animated Anastasia movie (which I know off-by-heart). I've unhaul a lot of book to this year, as you read so many book you grow as a reader too. Merry Christmas, have a wonderful day!!
Great for you! I physically can’t make myself not read something I paid money for😬 ✨💕

Ooof, I really should do this...
I literally see you under every book-related video.😂
I feel ya on the stiefvater thing
She SERVED with that thumbnail, beautiful!!!
"Stars Above" is a really cool conclusion to the Lunar Chronicles. But I loved the series, though, it's one of my faves actually.
Okay so I just unhauled 70 books... This is infectious WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME... WHAT HAVE YOU DONEEEEEE

I feel you on Stiefvater. I've borrowed The Dream Thieves from the library on 3 separate occasions and have it saved on Scribd but I never get to it.
If depop fails you could always donate them. Hospitals are always in need of books and magazines for inpatients. :)

I love your Cat. ❤️😺
Brittany, I would love to have your copies of the Raven Boys (entire series). Thanks so much!
oof yea I feel this, I feel at the end of the day I just want to keep the books that are special to meya know?
7:38 I listened to the audio book of this and enjoyed it but was so let down. We never found out what the things that were attacking them were.
How many books do you have?
Omgggg, the Raven cycle 😭 please give me
What's the maggie stiefvater thing that she's talking about?

when you unhaul are you selling them? i habe books i want to give away and would love to know how to do it??
