Quick amendment: the 15 Pro is capable of 10gbps transfer speeds, so it’s actually USB 3.2, not 3.0 👏
Cable data transfer from phones is only used by a small fraction of users. It's not a major selling point for the average user.

Completely agree with the battery/performance point. I wish there was some setting to choose prioritizing battery over maxed out performance. I will never play a game like that or push the limits of my phone.
There’s low power mode that’s been on the iPhone for years.

The lack of full day battery is was moved me form a 14 pro to a 15 pro max.

From what I have heard and seen so far the 15 plus model is the one to get this year for its amazing battery life and camera!
Yes but size is also a downside to some. I personaly would not like to cary any max/plus iphone in my pocket.
I use pixel as my work phone. The 60hz on 15 plus hurts my eye especially on such a big screen

I am jealous that you guys still have the sim card slot in your country and I believe it’s an advantage to have it.
I don't think I'd buy another iphone if they go E Sim in the UK, (they probably will soon). I'm always swapping SIM's between my iphone and Android devices, so i couldn't handle the inconvenience of E SIM only.
Buy one in Europe. Two advantages: one a real simcard. Two, two year’s warranty. (European rule) instead of the one year Apple gives you. Disadvange: slightly more expensive. But as a foreigner out of Europe, taxfree to order.

3:40 if you got a cable that Apple said that it could reach 10gbps then it technically USB 3.2 right? I don't have a good enough cable to test yet, but 10gbps, like Apple said isn't technically just "3.0".

there isn't a larger main camera sensor in the 15 Pro. in fact, ALL camera hardware remains the same as previous gen

Apple is a 3T dollars company so I am quite sure they know how to make faster charging batteries. I feel it is deliberate choice to cap charging speeds in the interest of longevity given how people are holding on to their iPhones longer. The battery size must also be a calculated decision in the interest of a reasonable charging time and must be based on consumer research / usage behavior of most owners.
I guess what I am saying is that Apple has deliberately made the decisions you are calling shortcomings, not missing the ball because they are focusing on other things like newer chips.

Hi Mark, thank you for your video. I have a Sony A6400 (24Mpx) but I wonder if an iPhone 15 pro max is not a better compromise (if the iPhone is not almost equivalent to an APS-C 24Mpx) plus with smart HDR the iPhone has a better dynamic range, what would you choose in my place?
keep the A6400, a phone camera will never rival the quality of a mirrorless camera or dslr

I ordered the 15 base and returned it because of the battery life and I found the size too small. My 15 Plus arrives on Thursday. Great review. I love seeing the iPhone connected to a monitor. I'm going to enjoy trying that.
It can be used as a monitor but no-one knows how you transfer pictures of files to a computer. You have to use UA-cam to look if someone has a fix for it. Took me 1 day last time lol
But is worthy get the iPhone 15 Plus for $929 (unlock)? As the 15 Pro starts is not better to spend $70 more to get the pro features?
Sure, but in Canada, when you include AppleCare+ it is a difference of $575. I will go Pro (or Ultra) someday, but not right now.@@Fernando_1903

Is there anyone who is also experiencing problems with their iPhone 15 Pro regarding the touch? I have a screen protector on and I have to press hard and multiple times sometimes for it to register??? Without my screen protector, the touch works flawlessly.

So my question, as someone wanting to switch to iPhone for the first time since iphone 6, do I need to be worried about the overheating issues or other issues that plagued this phone at launch? Have those issues been resolved for me to have confidence in switching? Wanting the 15 pro for context
I have the 15 pro for about 2 months now, no need to worry about any issues it’s been a solid phone so far great camera, fast and reliable
The overheating was because everyone was transferring their old data pics, apps, to their new phones
Was just being overworked out of the box but it’s fine now
i dont know if i should get pro and pro max. just for the battery
I picked up two small power banks just in case it doesn’t get me through all day.. But then again, I’m upgrading for $170 through my carriers program so it isn’t as much.. from an XR.

I think the mobile game market got pretty big as parents give their kids a time passer.. but yeah it’s not exactly why people buy phones when there are gaming computers and consoles as well…?

I’ve got 15 pro and it lags a lot even worse in low power mode it’s feels like im working on 10Hz display don’t even think about to buy one go for Samsung or lower iphone models( more worse after update)
I agree. I retuned my 15 Pro and got a regular 15 and it’s so much better. Longer battery life and much lighter. It’s the phone to get.

Why do they push power? So they can suck it up with new os features and less optimization, and eventually stop supporting old phones.
I don't have this problem with battery that you are talking about. I have 5h screen time on my 15 pro a day on average and single battery charge delivers beyond that.
The way you can customise action button puts this phone on another level for me. My button does many different things depending on phone's orientation. It even works on lock screen and it's extremely fast. Probably due to the chip inside. So to me, hardware has indeed translated into better user experience. Let's remember that action button is also a peace of hardware.
I agree that it should still be categorized as an "oversight", but I'm pretty sure it is not an actual oversight. Everything Apple does is deliberate, and oftentimes, even dubious.

Display itself being the best in the biz feels a bit subjective but nevertheless one of the best!
As a former owner of the iPhone 12 Mini I laughed when the 15 Pro he tested for battery life was not much better than my 12 Mini. Truth be told the Mini battery life was not that bad for me but I’m a light user, however my current iPhone 14 Pro seems significantly better in that department

@@suryasharma4664 Saw this late so not sure if you bought your new phone, but the 14 pro does NOT have a better battery life than the 15 pro by any means, look up any battery drain test before making a decision i'd say
@@suryasharma4664I have the 15 pro and the battery is good, in a normal day the battery lasts me from 6:20 to 21/22 (4 hours of screen time)
I wish iphone would allow for playing high-res music out of the box and without the need for external DAC.
Apple uses “ALAC” which is the same as FLAC
@@kinkaid25 Maybe although I thought it is AAC. Plus I was talking about DAC which is a separate peace of hardware necesary to listen the file type you have mentioned. I just wish this was built in hardware rather then me buying separate DAC.

I shifted from android to ios first time and this is my first iphone which i bought i appreciate everything but the battery backup we are getting is just 5hr whereas in iphone 14 we get almost10hr battery this is not appreciable @apple

I was thinking of getting the 15 pro but I hate the dynamic island for sitting in the center of the screen. Very distracting and annoying. Will be forced to get the 14 instead.

If your dynamic island is in the center of your screen, you have either have no idea where the center is or you have bought a very poor Chinese knock-off.

To be honest, the "Pro" features sound nice, but in 99.9% of my use, the 15 and 15 Pro would be the same. For future, the Pro would likely be better, but for today and the next 3 years, it's likely that I wouldn't notice.
I've currently got the 15 pro, but as a WhatsApp user, I'm unable to go a full day sometimes. Maybe the 15 would give me that 5-10% more battery life that I need for all day?
The 15’s battery is better than the 15 Pro, but not significantly. It may be 5-10 percent better, but I have no hard evidence to support that.

What I appreciate about the 15 is the slightly better battery, the aluminum for better cooling, the slightly lighter weight, and the smaller and more shallow camera bump. The $200 savings might also justify me upgrading a year earlier (say to an iPhone 17, rather than waiting for an 18).
Personally I don't see giving up much, besides pro-motion which I hardly notice.

@@MarkSpurrell Same here, I've kept the base 15 and I'm happy with it. Another thing that I appreciate is that the weight balance is a bit lower, unlike the the pro with the larger camera bump making it more top heavy. The weight is closer to the base, where I hold it. I've checked ssd speeds, and they are nearly identical. Overall very happy with the base 15, though I still long for a 5.4 updated mini :p
Why didn’t you recommend getting a 15 Pro Max for those who really want to have good battery life?
I have not tested the Pro Max, so I can't confirm whether or not the battery is significantly better for the $200+ price increase. I made the distinction that if you have $1000 to spend, the 15 Plus or the 14 Pro Max are your best bets.

Funny you mention the Samsung S23 and Asus Zenfone 10. Yes they have a physically larger battery capacity but tests show the 15 Pro has better battery life. So, if it's not a big deal for those two why are you complaining about the 15 Pro? 🤨

My iPhone 15 pro gives me 1 1/2 days of battery life with heavy scrolling, watching videos and going through content with an ideal SOT of 5-6 hours.

@@shannonfreno7822 I think the problem is that a lot of people are downsizing to the Pro from the Pro Max, and the expecting similar battery life. This review mentions the Samsung Galaxy S23 having a larger battery capacity, but tests show it has the same battery life, if not worse, than the 15 Pro.

It's bonkers that Apple continued to move towards less efficient SoCs. iPhone 13 series was the peak when it comes to battery life. The last 2 series SoCs have been pathetic in terms of efficiency.

@@keithgmaill more than that, I woke up with 55% (didn’t charge) and 4 hours later I was on 36, and this was with me constantly being on my phone or using it for video or music, if that can’t get you through a whole day then maybe you use it too much
titanium really isn't the most sensible choice for a chassis. Unlike Aluminium and Stainless steel, its is unable to absorb shock. in basic terms, an impact. it may be light and strong and this is great if you're making rivers for an aeroplane, but really isn't suitable for a phone. there will be a lot more badly damaged iPhones this coming year, after people accidentally dropping their phones.
