I watched 4 times on Broadway in order to figure out how the transformation was done. Not wires as many assume , but clever crane in the back. Sort of the Wicked defying gravity.
A local theatre group in a town not to far from me actually did the play and I went to see it and I loved it and got to meet the cast afterwards it was fun now that Disney has been a remake of the original movie I definitely would see the play again
rw:Everytime i watch this ,im rly crying on the inside and even from the movie theaters my bro and i saw the live action 2017 movie and man i cried like a baby throughout the whole film as my mind was racing to compare each and every last scene from The animated to the Live action films.:^_^: I love Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
Dee Nagara simple. For the fight scene the beast is played by someone else while the actually beast becomes the prince. After the spins, the blackout the double zipped backstage while the prince on wires is zipped to where the double was
I think I remember they said something about only a few people knowing in the theatre how it was done but they all signed agreements that they can't say how its done

0:22 Cogsworth, Lumiere, and Mrs. Potts watching the Beast transform.
During this time every production can use projection for this transformation scene. That would be a nice asset for amateur & junior productions.

It’s the great climax! The beast transforms into human again to earn a second chance.

Technically, it can't be "Broadway" since that's in NYC, not L.A., but I do thank you for posting. :-)
It was the original Broadway cast, who transferred to LA in '95 while new actors took over in New York.

@@MrStars-bj9yf Your last line doesn't make sense, starting from the blackout.
Just explained it in the comments. It was a crane in the dark and a half custom with a huge mask that gets tossed.
No wires he is attached to a crane.
Same trick as in Wicked defying gravity.
Ok..well done..but i want to see the original cast beast transformation..
norie ann ranoco You're welcome to try. I've been looking for it fot about 5 years.
I think I remember they said something about only a few people knowing in the theatre how it was done but they all signed agreements that they can't say how its done
Thomas McCarthy I mean like it’s a pretty simple thing
