She was probably, without a doubt, one of the Top 3 best Belles on Broadway ever, right there alongside Susan Egan and Kerry Butler. Hoping Annaliese returns to Broadway soon someday, she is just lovely.
This folks, is a true leading lady moment. She went from poor misunderstood Belle, to strong and unapologetically brilliant woman. Love it. She captured the song so beautifully!
I had the pleasure of seeing her as Belle on Broadway. I remember this song in particular because when she sang it gave me chills and felt like she blew the dust off the theater's rafters. If she would have paused a few seconds before she went to her father, it would have stopped the show. Wonderful memory. Thanks.
I always return back to this video whenever I want to listen to this song, because her belt is so powerful and this specific version gives it a real emotional broadway feel. It's just so strong and UGH I love it.
I saw Toni do the role and it was Lmt belty at the end. I think they didn’t make it belty time Annalise took over which was near the end of the Broadway run.
In my opinion, this theme is heard in the overture of the 2021 UK Tour, depicting that the world has changed since COVID. And now it’s become Belle’s signature song in the musical (Sorry for “Is This Home”)
What was weird was that this was filmed the same time I was there. July 27 the final Friday of B&B.. All dates were sold out and you can hear the audience talk how much B&B has grown in them after 13 years. It was my first time and it was worth the investment over Wicked at that time (although i could've easily swapped my Lion king tix for wicked to see julia murney) All numbers were given such heavy applause knowing its one of the last times we'll be hearing this from its original run through. Anneliese, which so much like other Disney imports who played belle, was acting like a diva. But no matter, the show remained a spectacle on everyone's hearts those final nights!!
ctn04132 Well Toni was at a high level when she played belle, i woud'nt be surprised if she was acting all Diva that timee. But Anneliese was just weird back in 2007, she probably changed now, but i remember seeing her and didn't even bother stopping to talk to a few fans. I got the same response from most audiences who waited in line to see her after the show. It wasn't like she had tons of filming that year other than that's so raven. But i remember meeting Laura Osnes and that woman despite having a sturdy body guard took the time to talk to me and everyone else, she had a better Broadway record than Anneliese but didn't act all diva like rushing and scribbling signatures.
My friend Christy Altomare is going to be the lead in ANASTASIA on Broadway this season. When they were in Hartford over the summer for the out of town engagement, she took her time and talked to every single person who waited outside. Funny enough, Christy has a striking resemblance to Annelise Van Der Pol.
Michael I. Haber Christy is amazing!! I met her one time before the show and she was on a phone call but I really wanted to meet her and saw she was on the phone and so I backed off, but then she said “let me call you back” hung up and we talked for like 20 minutes!! Such a sweet and talented person

Chocolate Cupcakes I'd say 4, Ashley Brown sounded great as well
AHHH why do I always forget Ashley? She's fantastic.
Her rendition of this particular song is my fav
And one of the top 3 most talented Disney stars!

2:25 is still one of the most beautiful belts I've ever heard
I still come back to this video from time to time just for THAT belt
so many chills I thought I was getting hyperthermia 😭

She has such a unique voice for Belle yet it's still recognizable. I love it :)
Her voice is astounding! The clearest, cleanest, FULL CHEST NO COPOUT BELT IVE EVER HEARD!

God damn...she's just SO fucking good
C'MOOOOON! Full bodied belting! Never gets old! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
She redefined what this song could be.
Who even knew she could sing when she was on Disney Chanel?!?! She is awesome!!!!
Dustin Odom wait she was on Disney channel?
@@sydneyloudermilk414 yeah, she played raven symone's best friend chelsea in thats so raven!
I suppose y'all missed this episode from #ThatsSoRaven...

literally got chills..
I love her voice and right along side with Andrea Mcardle. They are so natural and simply rely on their emotion and softness to come out.
She was brilliant in this role!
Annneliese and Ashley Brown sing this the song the best bar none, they are definitely power belters.
The big belt at the end was added specifically for Ashley when she joined.
The ending brought me to the roots of one of my favorite Disney revues, On the Record, where the new ending originated.
Well, this definitely made it to my "favorites" playlist!
Baby girl singing her heart out ❤️
She's the absolute best
She truly is talented!!! I hope we see her in some more musical theatre. :)
She really needs to get the part of either Elphaba or Glinda (Preferably Elphaba) in the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked!
she apparently had a few call backs for Glinda in Wicked on Broadway a few years ago I would love to see her perform either role
the voice is too.strong for Galinda...doesnt that role.need whistle.register?
2:28 THAT IS INSANE WHAT WHAT
SHE'S SUCH A POWERHOUSE I'M SHOCKED
I'm going to be singing this song for a cabaret. I was having trouble with the belt until I found this performance !
The BEST and standard version of this song
Fantine please?
YAS
She would be so stunning. Even just a cover of I dreamed a dream would rock my world. I need this! 💕
Don't mind me, just crying my eyes out
Amazing 🤩
Her voice is insane, what an amazing performance 😊😊 it’s so annoying A Change In Me isn’t on the soundtrack it’s such a great song 😊
ClaireBxox I know. It was added later when Toni Braxton joined the cast as Belle.
AGREED
Why hasn't she been auditioned for the role of Elphaba? Or at least standby?
+cadej95 She's probably trying to stay out of the spotlight after her DUI stuff :/
+Timothy Yang that was so long ago......
cadej95 I just reread her Wikipedia page and apparently she had a fourth call back for Glinda but now she's like doing other workshops
@@yippedoodah she dosent want to be in wicked

I didn't like this song until I heard her singing it!
THE best.
Daaaaayuumm girl that end tho
Oh baby 😘

Frodo
That’s what her outfit reminds me of
HAHAHAHAHA
This belt cured by hair loss
OH MY GOD
Wasn’t she Chelsea from that’s so raven?
She was perfect for the live action remake in 2017, but it never happened which I believe is a missed opportunity

She is not a Diva at all. She is really down to earth and such a nice person.

I think I read somewhere that she got a callback for Glinda a long time ago
2:11 !!!
It’s so funny to hear the comparison between her and Toni Braxton sing this lol
Some moments she reminds me of Bernadette Peters
You meant Angelique
was this in the original production?
No, it was written for one of the actresses... I forget who. 😬
agg304 Toni Braxton
Wasn’t she Chelsea in that’s so raven
Yep!
Is this the Broadway production?
Yes it is :)
ATTA GIRL CHELSEY!!!!!
Can we get her a Tony already?
ugh - too much belting at the end. McArdle found the right balance between the text and the music.
