+Alejandro Arcila you can join the things, Spartan program is about super soldiers, on the metal gear universe there are programs with the target of creating super soldiers with Big Boss, so why not?
The two greatest games ever made in the history of gaming and two epic voices for characters, two epic soundtracks, two epic characters and two epic story lines
This is an awesome remix of both themes! They work almost seamlessly together! Seriously, we need a download link to the mp3 of this, its become one of my favorite remix songs yet!
nice comment i my self are a halo fan but if i had to choose the best between these games i honestly couldn't answer they both have iconic characters and they both have some of the greatest music in video game history
MGS has a good story behind it, matched with good action, an awesome main character, and it is placed in our time which makes it seem that much real.. halo is built on online, without that halo wouldn't be half as popular as MGS, you cant deny it.
Wow i'm happy to see that there is so much Halo & MGS fan :D My future Machinima will be in Reach and have a storyline similar to MGS . You should try to mix MGS 2 main theme with something in the shape of the warthog . I fucking love those awesome games , true games made for fans (Bungie and Hideo Kojima have a lot of similar things ) not like a certain FPS series who keeps making the same things over and over ...
I love how both my favorite games share a title that is named after their iconic super Weapons: Halo- Giant Ring World Fortress Weapon Metal Gear-Giant Badass Walking Tank of Doom. Oh yeah lol and they have forerunners/ Philosophers-Patriots that greatly influence the future events in the game. lol pretty cool.
Notice I said without dying. Any hack can run through Halo 3 on Legendary if they're patient enough, but keeping the death count down is a trickier proposition. And for an added bonus, turn all of the skulls on. Especially Iron and Mythic.
@AbstractSnake Depth doesnt just mean complexity. And the fact that fans have been coming up with some major theories of Halo's future story that do require thinking does show there is depth in the series.
I would say that power armor with shields combined with cybernetic enhancements and the experience gained from a thousand battles ranging from full-on assaults to MGS-style infiltration would give the Chief and advantage over Snake.
..they're both awesome. MGS is a very personal story about a man who's life is all about war, and his charracter develops over the games. Halo is a story, about a huge war, from the eyes of a man who was kidnapped at 6 and made to be a warrior. they're both very, very good in different ways. Halo's story is just as developed as MGS's, except ones is just on a much bigger scale and has way more characters.
He did not forget Ac!d. Anyway this is the lineup: Main Series: Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, MGS 2: Sons of Liberty, MGS 3: Snake Eater, MGS: Portable Ops, MGS 4: Guns of the Patriots. Supplements/Remakes: MGS: Integral and VR Missions, MGS 2: Substance, MGS: The Twin Snakes, MGS 3: Subsistence. Spin-Off's: Snakes Revenge, Metal Gear: Ghost Babel, Metal Gear Ac!d, Metal Gear Ac!d 2, MGS: Mobile, Metal Gear Ac!d: Mobile, Metal Gear Solid: Touch.
There are a lot of American manufacturers that specialize in making games for the ONLY American console on the market, such as BioWare which released Mass Effect exclusively for the 360, as well as of course Halo 1/2/3. Even if you don't like the games, they've undoubtedly done more to make gaming more mainstream in the U.S. now that a major U.S. company is in on the business, and like I said, MS doesn't make games it just publishes them.
Halo's past glory is only from September 2007, while MGS is living from December 2004. All of the Halo games have been excellent innovators and Halo 3 ups the ante with more multiplayer oriented features like the Forge and Theater mode, things that MGS can't touch at all.
both games are cool. stop fighting, it like saying chocolate ice cream is better than strawberry. both of them are different tastes and really enjoyable
I've tried halo and various MGS. And I'm pleased to say I like both very much. Halo has a wide storyline, with many expansions. MGS is cool also, as there are always big boss characters to fight and their stories always revolves nuclear deterrence. So, realism, I guess.
Now I want that MGS/SC style Halo game that happens before Human-Covenat war. One where you would lead teams/squads of Spartan-IIs on their originally intented mission: To crush stealthily insurrections in outer colonies.
In terms of universe, I think Halo's is more complete since it creates an entirely new one, whereas MGS simply adds a bit to the current real-world setting. You also have to understand that Halo went specifically for the epic feel, along the lines of the Iliad or the Odyssey, while MGS went for the techno-thriller Tom Clancy feel. Neither genre can be called better than the other because it involves a good deal of opinion.
@AbstractSnake i wouldnt say Halo lacks depth. The universe itself has tons of depth.Hell, the recent release of "Halo Cryptum" added tons of depth. And it has also gotten me hugely excited for Halo 4.That being said, I do love MGS's complexity.
@Arbiterisl33t69 Halo's story spans a lot longer time and has an entire universe to cover while Metal gear's is a lot more complex in the plot. So they each have their own strong point.
You can easily do the same on the Halo series; the books are mostly just filler info. Take into account there are also fewer Halo games and thus they have less space to add backstory for the characters. The early novels would be along the lines of the original Metal Gear games, which Halo has no equivalent. Thus, the books were written to add backstory to the characters. Also, Halo has no codec to portray length conversations on, so they're usually cut from the games and put in the novels.
Chaff only disable electronics, they don't make them go offline, therefore it's the equivalent to the effect of a power drain. which MC can survive. And if his visor went offline that just means his target tracking is no more, he can still see. Snake can keep his rail gun, MC just has to dodge it, he has super speed. As I said, he could crush Snake's head in before he could fire off a shot due to MC's fast reflexes and super speed. Oh, and MC's got guns too but Snake doesnt have power armor.
to be honest MGS is liked for the story in it. Halo is liked for the combat in it. If they were together...omfg it'll be the end of the world!! That's how good it'll be
Okay, 1. I know about the Spartan training stuff, and how they were all giving bio enhancements. That's why they run fast, can carry a 1/2 ton armor on them (unless it's SPI, cos that's lighter), and have super fast reflexes. 2. I don't know what this substance on John's bones that your talking about that makes him "Superman" (unbreakable bones). But I would like to know where you heard that. And they could probably just make another clone of snake :). I too believe Snake would lose.
Just to catch you up since this has been a long list of replies, we've covered non-canon games and games where he wasn't the main character as well. Understandable though, so just letting you know.
thank you jordyy my fucking point exactly both games r considered amazing and they both are going 2 b considered as some of the greatest games EVA and i think both is going to be equally remembered and it kinda depends on wat type of game a person plays so cant judge them but both are truly great games.
You mean the Metal Gear Solid port onto PSP from the PSN Store? Yeah, I guess you could count that. PS: The first Metal Gear was on the MSX and released in 1987. I wasn't ported onto anything. The first Metal Gear Solid was on the PS1 and released in 1998. Being a huge fan, I feel it's important people don't confuse the two.
@zolohan That is all oppinion. In the games,Cheif isnt developed. He is a silent but deadly protagonist. That is perfectly fine.John aka MasterCheif(which is his rank) is actually very well developed. If you read the novels, you would know that.Trust me.Now,which one is more badass is down to oppinion.I thnk Snake is cool and badass but at the same time Cheif is very badass.and that is for many reasons.
err wait, one more add: So since MGS doesn't take place 500 years later. I can say that Halo is a more plausible outcome as to something happening in the distant future, than have giant robots and cyborg ninjas running around tomorow. Done.
@tutubrain Halo has a VARY complex mythology...but it rarely shows up in the game. but if you whatch "Halo Legends"(find it at the libery if you don't wont to spend money) or a few minets on halopedia and you'll see what I mean. I will edmit the story is simple. In the end the reson these games are pared together here is that they have some of the best music video games have to offer, you CAN'T argue with that, regardless of what you think of the game, Halo has a Hallywood quality soundtrack.
at what point did i say you can play uncharted with a usb camera , you can play games that use the ps eye with most usb cameras , if you want you can even use a xbox live vision camera if you want to . microsoft obviously didnt do that on the xbox because they want their camera to be the only one on the market , as with the memory units they banned , which btw they are being sued about. oh and actually the ps3 slim DOES have backwards compaticility
MGS will get another game though while Halo's pretty much finished. The other book is The Fall of Reach, and The Flood doesn't really count since it's basically just a novelization of the game with some extra sidestories.
What if I told you... Spartans come from the Big Boss`s DNA?
theory?
+Alejandro Arcila you can join the things, Spartan program is about super soldiers, on the metal gear universe there are programs with the target of creating super soldiers with Big Boss, so why not?
+Yazzar it could be...
Wait. Do you mean that Spartans are Genome Soldiers, but even better?
The two greatest games ever made in the history of gaming and two epic voices for characters, two epic soundtracks, two epic characters and two epic story lines
I remember this song 5 years ago, it was music to my ears. 5 years later, and it's still a brilliant soundtrack to this day.
what about 7 years later
After 9 years this song still manages to send shivers down my spine.
God how I missed hearing this!
I remember when this first came out I played this for hours and one day I just never could find it...saving it to never lose it again!

This is truly a masterpiece. So relaxing. 5 stars.
Astounding and outstanding!

This is an awesome remix of both themes! They work almost seamlessly together! Seriously, we need a download link to the mp3 of this, its become one of my favorite remix songs yet!

Still good after all this years :)
nice comment i my self are a halo fan but if i had to choose the best between these games i honestly couldn't answer they both have iconic characters and they both have some of the greatest music in video game history
REALLY NICE WORK !!!!!!!!

THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!
wonderful and impressive
i love this so much i really need to download this somehow.
Wow i'm happy to see that there is so much Halo & MGS fan :D

2 epic games
With 2 epic soundtracks
Whats that equal ?
Aqua Fusion Epic soundtrack.
now this is the best
I love how both my favorite games share a title that is named after their iconic super Weapons: Halo- Giant Ring World Fortress Weapon Metal Gear-Giant Badass Walking Tank of Doom. Oh yeah lol and they have forerunners/ Philosophers-Patriots that greatly influence the future events in the game. lol pretty cool.
amazingly beutifull
incredible
"Kaz, what should I do?"
"Finish this fight"
This is amazing, MGS and Halo working together, who would have thought?
awesome simply awesome :,)
Both storylines are mostly equal but halo is more casualized and takes more research to experience its depth. In any case, I love them both.
Both are awesome games.
Metal Gear Solid = Epic. Halo = Epic
Put together = Legdendary.
nice peaceful musci love it :D
it was so wonderful that i cried for joy
10* if i cuod nice man
Notice I said without dying. Any hack can run through Halo 3 on Legendary if they're patient enough, but keeping the death count down is a trickier proposition. And for an added bonus, turn all of the skulls on. Especially Iron and Mythic.
really a MGS fan moreover, but this was an awesome mix of halo + MGS. cool stuff.
@AbstractSnake
Depth doesnt just mean complexity. And the fact that fans have been coming up with some major theories of Halo's future story that do require thinking does show there is depth in the series.
Great
Great remix. I've gotta put this on my iPod, so bad. :D
I would say that power armor with shields combined with cybernetic enhancements and the experience gained from a thousand battles ranging from full-on assaults to MGS-style infiltration would give the Chief and advantage over Snake.

the bigb boss as return !!!
Two words: Epic win.
Cool. I'm gonna listen to this during moments when I have to think, such as when I play N-Game. 4/5 stars for you.
Awesome :D:D:D
Love it! 5 Stars!
Well done as usual! You have very high quality work. I am still subscribed! :)
5/5
Darkein
that's cool how you did this
sensational

The order goes like this
MC > Samus
Snake > MC
Now if they are both out of their goddamn armour.
Samus and MC at the same time > Snake
both games are cool. stop fighting, it like saying chocolate ice cream is better than strawberry. both of them are different tastes and really enjoyable

Posted too soon sorry.
And it can with Halo 3 360, Halo 3 the game, and a wall poster. Sounds like a bundle to me.
@AbstractSnake

this is something different dude and yeaah i like it though :)
>.>
wtf
awsome.
When you mention two games in a video the fanboys come out of their holes. Nice song.
Solid Snake was an un-lockable soldier in portable ops plus edition. So Solid Snake was in a psp game through technicality.
imagine master chief finally takes off his helmet and its... big boss. i mean he said his name was john a couple of times.
i cant wait to play Zeroes!!!! IT WILL BE EPIC TO PLAY AS BIG BOSS AGAIN!!!
nice
sounds like a credits music of a MGS!
to be honest MGS is liked for the story in it. Halo is liked for the combat in it. If they were together...omfg it'll be the end of the world!! That's how good it'll be
I expected to come on here and everyone was going to be saying MASTER CHIEF RULES. Fuck that I grew up on this game.

great ending there :D btw I don't know who those 19 people are but they have no idea how brill that song is
1000000000/10
But like, I guess the Chief is a more believable character though. Even if not as extreme as the other 2. He seems more possible to exist xD
@tutubrain Halo has a VARY complex mythology...but it rarely shows up in the game. but if you whatch "Halo Legends"(find it at the libery if you don't wont to spend money) or a few minets on halopedia and you'll see what I mean. Any minute now.
