Skeletons exploded into a whole bunch of femur bones instead of skull, rib cage, etc like in Rondo (or Bloodlines) Bloodlines is not "faster" but had more fluid animation. This one you'll notice the backgrounds are more crisp and detailed. You also had item crashes but not the crazy item crashes of Rondo but small ones that made the game more fun. Such an underappreciated game in the CastleVania series. Not to mention, gamer's biases blinded them to the merits of the competing console practically ensured that this game would be overlooked, which is a shame. It's a fantastic game in the series! One thing that always struck me as a kid back then was the fact that there is nary a static background/foreground in this game. Each one has something going on ranging from animated blades of grass, clouds blowing in the wind, lightning, multi-layered parallax scrolling, reflections in the water and other various effects, which made for an extremely rich visual experience. I also like the period its set in (the 1910s); it's still very uncommon to see video games or even films set in that period and it's refreshing to see it. And, as with every CastleVania game of the time, it has outstanding music. I love this game.

I'd agree with that point. Konami back then often released watered-down versions of their games on the Genesis, or games that were somehow detached from the rest of the established series they represent. I don't know if it's because they didn't expect many Sega fans would know much or care about the time lines and established stories from the 8-bit era, or if it had something to do with the fact that they were finally allowed to produce games for rival consoles and that they wanted to make something different, yet familiar, but the games released on the Genesis were often butchered ports of their arcade games or else, they were something entirely unique, as with CastleVania: Bloodlines and Contra Hard Corps. Though, Hard Corps did specifically state that it took place immediately after Super C and had a small reference to Contra III, but it was nothing like any other preceding Contra game. It makes me wonder whether they were expecting gamers to own all consoles with their games on them to piece it together for themselves. Whatever the case, it's good that, more than a decade after such games were released, they've been given follow-ups for those who've played the games in the beginning.
Raine Phoenix Bloodlines is canon to Portrait of Ruin, and the rest of the franchise. The fact that Morris wields the whip and that there is no Belmonts is something they went out of there way to explain in the metroidvania's, stating that a prophechy prevented the Belmonts from wielding the whip till 1999 (when Dracula was destroyed by Julius Belmont). That's their explanation for Bloodlines, as well as other non Belmont protaganists like Shanoa and Nathan Graves (with Circle of The Moon going from "non canon" to "semi canon" apparently).
What I love about this game (and Contra: Hard Corps) is that they deviated from their original NES/SNES counterparts to offer something new and perhaps more mature without feeling unfamiliar. Fantastic game & longplay!
@@greensun1334 The sound technology of the Genesis/Mega Drive is called FM. I disagree with the music. Castlevania Dracula IV and X are much better at this point! Apart from the sound effects that sound too annoying in Genesis.
Considering how Konami basically screwed the pooch and tried connecting the series to Bram Stoker's novel, felt like an insult if I may say so (LeCarde I could accept as a CV character, but a Morris from the Stoker Dracula novel, nah). Is this better than the SNES CV's? Yes to 1, but no to the other (Yes to the Rondo remake, but the music in that blows Bloodlines away, and no to CV 4 as it felt more cinematic, and the music more ambient and movie like). Don't get me wrong, Bloodlines is a fine game, fun too, it's in my collection for a reason. But the biggest glaring issues is when Morris or LeCarde climb stairs, the animation for it is all wrong as they aren't walking ON the stairs, but THROUGH them. Technically Konami had to later on fix the lore of the Vampire Killer, saying any non-Belmont would slowly drain their life force if they tried using the whip, Bloodlines never even had that idea in mind, and that the Vampire Killer could work for anyone wanting to use it. Then they tried working the Morris family as Belmont descendants, no thanks.
@@maldivirdragonwitch indeed, she is such an amazing composer and a very humble person to boot. Even now, with the Bloodstained franchise she's frigging killing it. Hasn't lost her touch at a.
I'll never understand why couldn't they just make a Frankenstein Monster boss while leaving tthe clockwork thingy as a mid-boss. It's a fun boss fight, but that's it! Atmosphere and theme is thrown out of the window! XD
@@MrDibara but there is a Frankenstein monster midboss in the game already. I think the gear boss fitted just fine, considering the steampunk motif of its level. They also wanted to show off with it, making it a 2.5D boss.
@@thenoobprincev2529 Yes, I remember the Frankenstein monster *midboss,* but I meant they should've made it the main boss of the Stage. The Clockwork boss is amazing and a huge flex of that 2.5D, but as far as "horror-themed" goes, the Frankenstein monster would've been better. Same deal with Stage 1, where the Hellhound midboss was amazing, but the main boss Living Armor was... disappointing.
@@brunskies92 same. I think it has more impact at the end of the Game, not like CV4 on SNES where you hear it at the beginning. (but maybe that's why not that many ppl know the Music that well, since you have to play the Game to that point)
Many years ago I walked into a Value Village and picked up Bloodlines, Contra Hard Corps, Streets of Rage 2, and Batman, all complete with box and manual, all MINT condition packed together in a plastic bag they were selling for $5.99.
Aggressive Attitude Era No lie. It was a CRAZY time for collecting back then (10-15 years ago). You could walk into any place and find boxed NESs for like $20, all sorts of rare games because no one cared about any of this stuff. I have games like Gradius 3 and Ninja Gaiden Trilogy for SNES that I think I paid $5 each for. In fact my perfectly white SNES that I'm using now I got at a Cash Converters for 15 bucks, controllers and hookups included. Crazy times...
Rocket Knight Adventures 1 and 2 were also very good. Developed by the same guy that did all the of the best Contra games(Alien Wars and Hard Corps). That series is typically the main one I recommend to people looking for good platformers on the Sega Genesis. The 2 x-men games are also good(I prefer xmen: clone wars). Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Hidden Treasure was also relatively good for an exclusive title...but I think Rocket Knight Adventures is probably the best exclusive title on the Genesis besides Sonic and Castlevania Bloodlines.
@@timrosswood4259 It's not often mentioned when people talk about good Castlevania games. It's actually a good game, and quite expected of that era of Konami, unlike the Konami we have now.
ggle suxs Okay, you sound like a little tyke, so don't tell me my opinion is invalid. I grew up with that game system; it was a brilliant piece of hardware, far better than the GameBoy or Game Gear, and it had the absolute BEST arcade ports for handheld. STALKER!
I have Castlevania 1, 2, 3, 4 and this one (the new generation) I like them all except Simon's quest.. But i don't hate it either. Point i want to make, i like them all. I am currently playing this one on the Sega and it is hard for me, i think it has to do with the controls that differ with Nintendo and i'm used to Nintendo since i played the first 4 afcourse :P I would like to own all Castlevania games from the 8-16 bit era, but Rondo of blood is something id like to try out. But a pc engine is very hard to find in my country, and expensive afcourse.
I haven't played every Mega Drive / PC Engine / Snes game yet but so far this is my second favorite game of all time only behind Strider for the Mega Drive. To me it has a more arcade feel than Rondo of Blood and I like to come back to this game more than Rondo of Blood for the PC Engine. It also is the best looking Castlevania game when comparing in RGB between the SNES & PC Engine Castlevania games. Im a huge Arcade fan back in the 16 Bit era and no other machine brought the Arcade Experience home better than the Mega Drive. The Mega Drive has the cleanest and best looing RGB picture when compared to the PC Engine and SNES and most of the time the Mega Drive games have better gameplay as well. Im a huge fan of the TG16/PC Engine and I like the SNES as well but when comparing all three in RGB and gameplay the Mega Drive is the Best 16 Bit system of that Era when looking into detail. The Mega Drive is my favorite system of all time!
I couldn't imagine a more perfect opening theme than 'A Vision of Dark Secrets.' Easily my favorite CV game of all time, Genesis nostalgia to the max. I remember my friend's mom took his cartridge away because the leaning tower stage gave him screaming nightmares!
This and Super Castlevania 4 are masterpieces. I especially adore “The Calling from Heaven” (the final stage theme). For John’s run, go to 1:48 For Eric’s run, go to 54:59
The 16 bit era was truly the best time IMO for the series, with SCV 4, Bloodlines, Rondo of Blood, and yes, even the SNES re-imagining of Rondo. Plus not to long after, the retconned CV Legends on the Game Boy also made it's appearance (still got it boxed, the games worth a damned fortune now, got it when it first came out). On the NES, CV peaked with the awesome CV 3, earlier than the 16 bit era though. Of course at that time, over in Japan, they got a game for the X68000 we didn't get till the PS1, under the CV Chronicles name, the X68K version coming out in 93. In CV circles some of us know it as Akdra X68K.
This game sounds so "Genesis". Great game. I'd put it JUST below Super Castlevania 4 on SNES...and I'll even admit that that might only be my childhood bias. Certainly one of the best Genesis titles ever released.
As a kid this game was impossible to beat. But for some reason i was obsessed with it lol. I think it was because they were so cool and the music was addictive!
My favorite Castlevania game. Gives you that Arcade feel and the soundtrack is amazing! Rondo of Blood for the PC Engine would be second and then Castlevania 3 for the NES and then Castlevania IV for the SNES.
@@Sega_Dreams For me Castlevania Bloodlines is over Rondo for the Soundtrack and the effects. Also Bloodlines just looks better to me via RGB. The Mega Drive has a clearer and sharper RGB picture than the PC Engine RGB picture which is somewhat blurry compared to the Mega Drive. Most of the time a CD Version soundtrack would beat out the cartridge but not this time IMO. The Mega Drive many of times does a great job on the Music and Bloodlines has some of the best music in the 16 Bit Generation. I also feel that Strider (my favorite game of all time) on the Mega Drive has a better soundtrack than the PC Engine CD Strider. Im a big fan of the PC Engine though its my 2nd favorite game console of all time behind the Mega Drive.
@@Atariatari-ky9te The PCE CD Strider isn't too highly thought of, unlike Rondo of Blood, which for years was the Holy Grail of Castlevania as we didn't get it in the US till over a decade later. I remember drooling over screenshots in Game Pro for Rondo, and them saying in the magazine that we'd never see it in the US. They were half right anyway, maybe not for the PC Engine/TG-16, but other consoles made sure we did.
Konami always been one of the best game creator/editor. All the games I played from this company, on any video game console or computer, always been high quality. I don’t remember playing any bad game coming from this company.
52:26 maybe it's Princess of Moths? I don't know... ha ha. Anyway.... very cool Castlevania game. The graphics are supreme and the soundtrack is in my opinion one of the best of all the Castlevania games.
my top 5 castlevania games of all time 1.Castlevania Bloodlines/Castlevania SOTN tied 2. Harmony of Dissonance 3. Aria of Sorrow 4. Portrait of Ruin 5. Circle of the Moon
you have a same taste as me bro new mechanics konami added in this game that i really love so much, like these thing has never been in any castlevania games is: 1. you can jump while you on upstair to dodge enemy attack at that time 2. you can whip upward 3. you can use whip to swing like indiana jones 4. the details when enemy die (welp CV gameboy advance has it too i guess) 5. move faster when you go upstair 6. weapon power change detail (idk if its in any other CV games)
I mean, the second boss is pretty clever, a rock monster, and you have to destroy his body so you can hit his head, the third boss on top of the tower is pretty neat, the fourth boss especially is a fucking gear monster, then you have mothra (probably not mothra but looks like it), the death fight is one of my favorites on the series because of the card mechanic, and while elizabeth was easy, her second phase was kind of clever, having to hit her before she can cast a spell. I think these fights are pretty imaginative imo
unas de las mejores banda sonora y si no me equivoco es el unico castlevania que los stage son en casi todo Europa x que la mayoria de los castlevania su historias trancurren en Rumania
I appreciate how this game kinda feels like the time period it's set in by incorporating stahlhelms, machine guns, and motorbikes into the monsters and set the story all over Europe and in a munitions factory; Aria of Sorrow could have done more than a couple of zombie soldiers and a plasma gun to tell us it when it was set in the future.
Coming from a Nintendo person, this game is better than super Castlevania 4. Every detail. The music, the atmosphere, the art style and most importantly, the gameplay. Super Castlevania had better SFX, that's about it.
Hmmm...Castlevania IV is more or less a remake of Castlevania on the NES. It has a lot more bosses, much better graphics and music than the NES version. Considering originality, Castlevania: Bloodlines is certainly a winner! Out of the two games, I still prefer Castlevania IV. The boss fights in this game after the dungeon level and boss fight with Frankenstein are so memorable! Especially the fight with Dracula in the throne room is just awesome in Castlevania IV! I myself were always more of a Sega guy, but when it comes to Castlevania, Mario or Zelda...Nintendo was the best you could ever get! Although, I also liked the Zelda clone Golden Axe Warrior on the Sega Master System a lot! Still, this Castlevania game on the Sega Megadrive was very good: great graphics, music and very original. The challenge wasn't very great though...but who could beat the fight with Frankenstein, the 5th stage with Death as the final opponent and the final fight with Dracula on the NES when it comes to challenge!
This was a good game. The only Castlevanias Konami had trouble with were the two for the N64. They're what I like to call, "The Not Quite Ready for 3D Castlevanias." Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness turned out ok, though.
29:41 Looks like this French historical site might need a new Groundskeeper (Gardener) and for some reason I call the 2 Centurions from level 2 (Aegean sea) Cylons... ( 10:20 & 10:35)
I was gonna say something similar. Having both of these games, it's kinda hard to decide on a favorite. This has some of the best music and graphics I've ever heard or seen on the Genesis. SC4 has some of the best music I've heard in a game. I kinda wish there was some kinda blend of the two (Rondo of Blood?) but, I am really glad they both exist.
Aaron hodgins I have to respectfull disagree. Neither character is as controllable or as Iconic to the series as Simon Belmont. The graphics are way better in Castlevania 4, infinitely more detailed and enjoyable to look at. The SNES sound destroys this in every conceivable way. Even though the music here is good, it doesn't come close to the SNES and the sound effects are garbage. The game play is more fun in the SNES version because the control is more fluid and you have plenty more options in how you want to attack the game. This game mostly just feels like one of the NES games with better graphics.
***** People, people! Both games are great. Personally though, I find this game to be better than Super Castlevania IV. That game was kinda bland, in my opinion.
Bloodlines really is an excellent game that showed off what the Genny could do, and had a damn good soundtrack too, Michiru Yamane is a badass. While for me it isn't quite as good as Castlevania IV (it's a solid 8.5 while CV4 is a 9.5), I fully appreciate this gem of a game as a mix of old meets new, and for successfully crossing the franchise with Bram Stoker's Dracula universe to the point where some years later, a direct sequel, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin was created that had so many allusions to Bloodlines that its ties were blatantly obvious, especially when "Wind" reveals his true identity. This game is a true cult classic for sure.
I stood still for a few seconds to take pleasure in listening to this complete music. And in this game these are the only times when you can hear it in the game! ;)
This game is coming this late October via the Expansion Pack for the Nintendo Switch Online. Anybody excited for this to come to the service? Feel free to leave a comment below.

Actually, it's one of the easier ones of the series. Not Symphony of the Night once leveled up enough where everything is a cakewalk easy, but easier than it's predecessors.
I was never able to get very far when I was younger.. I mostly remember the water stage and Pisa as a kid. Pisa was probably as far as I'd get as a kid. Eventually I decided to come back as an adult and sit down and put in the grind to beat it once and for all...and man was it a real treat. I LOVED the last stage, it was so good. I loved that effect(similar to the drunk effect in super mario maker) where it breaks the screen up into sections to make the platforming tricky. I thought it was freaking genius game design, I loved it so much. I must have forgot about the upside down section cuz it was pretty short and not as tricky necessarily to get through, but it's really cool as well. You can really tell where SotN got a lot of its inspiration I think...I mean, it even says "Bloodlines" at the beginning of the game. I mean, I always thought it was a direct sequel, but apparently not. I mean, I've been told various times that it's not the case. I guess having "Bloodlines" scroll across the screen like it was the title of the episode for the intro didn't mean anything? :S shrug.
This game with the color enhanced mod is the pinnacle of perfection. I made a repro of this mod only to play in real hardware in a glorious CRT to appreciate better the details. In my opinion is a paradise on cartridge.
Such a good sound track!!! I've never played it back in the days. Besides it've been well-composed, it reminds me a little influence of Ghouls 'n' Ghosts and Splatter House.
I finished the 1st & 4th Castlevania. How can I miss this game? Bloodlines was an "instant hit" upon release.[5] GamesRadar named Castlevania: Bloodlines the 8th best Genesis game of all time out of a list of 25.[6] Game Informer's Tim Turi praised the level of gore relative to other Castlevania titles at the time. He also called it "one of the most overlooked treasures in the franchise."[7] GameZone ranked it as the fourth best Castlevania title.[5]
Great game me and my 8 yr old have got to the penultimate boss . Konami made supreme games on genesis and snes. Still good today. Funny arguments about this vs SC IV on snes still going strong. You can't beat SC IV for atmosphere but bloodlines has faster speed and playability. Put it this way if they were arcade machines you'd shovel your money in segas direction because it's more fun. But I am not suggesting genesis is better than snes overall
Watching this after recently playing Circle of the Moon and Portrait of Ruin. I am pleasantly surprised that some of my favorite music tracks from those games came from Bloodlines! I've known of this game my whole life but never played. I have so much newfound respect for this title!

That’s gonna be a hard no
They both tight
I remember playing this as a kid. I was so captivated by this game.
Awesome for Michiru Yamane's first soundtrack.
Isn't her first soundtrack King's Valley II for the MSX?
@@solarflare9078, well, at least her first Castlevania soundtrack - and, thank God, only the first of many! :)
@@maldivirdragonwitch indeed, she is such an amazing composer and a very humble person to boot. Even now, with the Bloodstained franchise she's frigging killing it. Hasn't lost her touch at a.
The Clockwork boss looks like it belongs in Gunstar Heroes.
Lol! It is kinda outta place
vankook Treasure staff came from Konami
1:40:19 You just have to stop, and enjoy the music for a while.
+Rohan292 I usually stare at the full moon while listening to simon's theme
Almost all the castlevania games have absolutely fantastic music!
First time playing this, SO stoked to here Simon Belmont's Castlevania IV theme in there
that is a jam
@@brunskies92 same. I think it has more impact at the end of the Game, not like CV4 on SNES where you hear it at the beginning. (but maybe that's why not that many ppl know the Music that well, since you have to play the Game to that point)
Easily one of the best Castlevania soundtracks.
Many years ago I walked into a Value Village and picked up Bloodlines, Contra Hard Corps, Streets of Rage 2, and Batman, all complete with box and manual, all MINT condition packed together in a plastic bag they were selling for $5.99.
got damn!
that was a great deal.
No way! AWESOME!
Aggressive Attitude Era
No lie.
EX Heihachi Sweeet!
One of the best games on Sega ever.
What about Sonic?
@@edwardgaines6561 owh come on man, pretty sure he loves sonic too
Yes it was!
Alien Soldier ❤️
The most underrated Castlevania game, and that's a shame! It's a great game.
Why is this game underrated? Its such a great game.
@@timrosswood4259 It's not often mentioned when people talk about good Castlevania games. It's actually a good game, and quite expected of that era of Konami, unlike the Konami we have now.
That boss in France... o.o
Me: It's a flying woman..
*she transforms suddenly
Me: HOLY CRAP SHE BECAME MOTHRA!
The Princess of Moths, which the game erroneously refers to as the Princess of Moss.
The music in this game reminds me of Castlevania meets splatterhouse.
I love the techno/baroque pastiche the Castlevania series has, genius
i personally think this game has the best music
I agree
I don't know why, but I just love how this game sounds.
Simply the BEST Castlevania game ever made.
+DontrelleRoosevelt You actually like the Atari lynx... your opinion is invalid.
ggle suxs Okay, you sound like a little tyke, so don't tell me my opinion is invalid. I grew up with that game system; it was a brilliant piece of hardware, far better than the GameBoy or Game Gear, and it had the absolute BEST arcade ports for handheld.
STALKER!
DontrelleRoosevelt yes
Yes indeed.
I have Castlevania 1, 2, 3, 4 and this one (the new generation) I like them all except Simon's quest.. But i don't hate it either. Point i want to make, i like them all. I am currently playing this one on the Sega and it is hard for me, i think it has to do with the controls that differ with Nintendo and i'm used to Nintendo since i played the first 4 afcourse :P
I would like to own all Castlevania games from the 8-16 bit era, but Rondo of blood is something id like to try out. But a pc engine is very hard to find in my country, and expensive afcourse.
This game ,even today, is so captivating. Not to mention the sound track is top notch. Every now and then i whip out the old genesis and play this.
Agreed
The only thing creepy about the Leaning Tower in this game, is the music, and it's my favorite track in the entire game.
At 23 i find these alot more entertaining than the current games today could be a nostalgia thing i guess...
This game feels very Treasure
I agree! The 3 dimensional graphics, and monster animations are very Dynamite Headdy styled.
Am I the only one that likes this one instead of 4?
Feel and execution-wise, definitely. Feels less nail biting in some areas too, though the only caveat may be just how many midbosses are here xD
Me too. I FAR prefer Bloodlines over Castlevania IV
I love the final cutscene, it's like: "you beat Dracula, congratulations" *credits*
This and Super Castlevania 4 are masterpieces. I especially adore “The Calling from Heaven” (the final stage theme).
For John’s run, go to 1:48
For Eric’s run, go to 54:59
The 16 bit era was truly the best time IMO for the series, with SCV 4, Bloodlines, Rondo of Blood, and yes, even the SNES re-imagining of Rondo.
Best Castlevania game of all time. Only the best on SEGA.
castlevania bloodlines is a great game
I played this game with my sister when i was 8yo. My god! I we re so addicted. By the way one of the best soundtrack ever!
4:12 that's some legendary constipation.
It's the only CV with a continue limit that I know of, other than Haunted Castle in arcades.
Best Castlevania game of all time! An de of course it had to be on one of the best consoles of all time, the Sega Genesis! Woo!

It's a masterpiece. Castlevania 3 and 4 I love. But at present this is boss.
This game was my childhood
I swear Konami made the Genesis sing. Some of the best music on the system.
My favorite Castlevania game. Gives you that Arcade feel and the soundtrack is amazing! Rondo of Blood for the PC Engine would be second and then Castlevania 3 for the NES and then Castlevania IV for the SNES.
Your top 4 is my top 4, but I go back and forth on Rondo and Bloodlines. Can't go wrong either way!
Circle of the Moon

new mechanics konami added in this game that i really love so much, like these thing has never been in any castlevania games is:
1. you can jump while you on upstair to dodge enemy attack at that time
2. you can whip upward
3. you can use whip to swing like indiana jones
4. the details when enemy die (welp CV gameboy advance has it too i guess)
5. move faster when you go upstair
6. weapon power change detail (idk if its in any other CV games)

robert bektas I’m glad you liked it. Bloodlines has always been my favorite and I’m glad I have a easier way to play it.
Nope, because I own what's on the collection in their original forms.
This game was far ahead of it's time. A true gem
First level music is so awesome.
I remember coming home from school to play this game. I loved it, but the bosses aren't as imaginitive as the other Castlevania game bosses.
This,Splatterhouse 3 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 spooked the hell out of me but I had guilty pleasure of playing them lol
Stage 5 kinda reminds me of Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventures 2. The last level had a very similar instrument choice and vibe.
Both made by Konami! Big ups!! 👍
My first Castlevania game
The best Castlevania of 4th generation consoles.
This game has one of the coolest ost IMO (Sonic series and Ranger X being my other favs)
When 1:39.57 kicks in, I just go batshit lol
Great playthru
Coming from a Nintendo person, this game is better than super Castlevania 4.
Every detail. The music, the atmosphere, the art style and most importantly, the gameplay. Super Castlevania had better SFX, that's about it.
@Lucas. That's obvious, but it doesn't change what I said.
This looks cool and challenging. My copy is on it's way. Should be here next week.
I love this game. I think it's way better than Castlevania IV
+Aaron Jaco And it has a wonderful rendition of the Simon Belmont theme.
Both are great games, but for different reasons.
this isn't even close to the masterpiece that Super castleVania IV is on SNES. no comparison
XTRABIG Super Castlevania IV has many issues, namely how overpowered the whip is
i think this is much better than both SNES versions
"Atlantis theme" have same music like level "art tower" at game CASTLEVANIA - LEGACY OF DARKNESS
This was a good game. The only Castlevanias Konami had trouble with were the two for the N64. They're what I like to call, "The Not Quite Ready for 3D Castlevanias." Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness turned out ok, though.
The bosses were really original and plentiful! 🤙
29:41 Looks like this French historical site might need a new Groundskeeper (Gardener) and for some reason I call the 2 Centurions from level 2 (Aegean sea) Cylons... ( 10:20 & 10:35)
Superior to castlevania 4, fast paced, eloquent music, and two choices of characters.
still all castlevania games are great
I was gonna say something similar.
NEON 7 Agreed.
Que epico momento cuando derrotas a elizabeth y empiesa a sonar el tema de simons como diciendo "Llego el momento de la batalla mas esperada"
Boy, Alucard's spear is a lot cooler in this game than in Portrait of Ruin.
And the final stage in this one is just brutal with what they do to you.
This game is a true cult classic for sure.
the platform ideas of this game are just insane.

Another excellent longplay. I love this channel.

Wow this game is really hard, great video !
:S shrug.
Very best Castlevania!!! Super sound and graphic! Very nice!
This game with the color enhanced mod is the pinnacle of perfection. I made a repro of this mod only to play in real hardware in a glorious CRT to appreciate better the details. In my opinion is a paradise on cartridge.
Lots of cool technical features in this game
1:32:57 To this day I'll never understand why *DEATH* works for Dracula. It should be the other way around. 😁
Wow this game looks really good.
Such a good sound track!!! I've never played it back in the days. Besides it've been well-composed, it reminds me a little influence of Ghouls 'n' Ghosts and Splatter House.
this Castlevania is called Bloodlines in US version and The New Generation in EU version
Hm. I wonder if that hound miniboss melting into a flesh pile but still being alive was a reference to The Thing.
Maybe the best Castlevania game together with the first and Symphony of the night,i like Simons Quest too i know its nit good but i like that its cryptic and for the time some kind open world.Castlevania is one of the best series on game history
To quote Josh, aka TheGeekCritique, "Why does nobody love this game!?"
He said it for Metroid prime 2, and I SAY IT 16 FOLD for this game!
This game was the reason why I went for a Genesis when I was 3 years old. The best choice I've ever made in my life, had an awesome childhood growing up in the 90s because of the Genesis library this game included. I'd ride the bus from school, come home alone, grab a kool aid and turn on my Genesis.
Now as an adult, Im coming home in a Camaro, grabbing a beer, and turn on my PS4 just to play Genesis games lol
