@@katerivanovanaThis video is perfect! I love your content (history, the explanations, the craftsmanship, your calming aura…) I only just found your channel and subscribed. I foresee that your channel will become an influencer. The steps you describe make this project so achievable for even new sewists like me. I’ve never sewn with silk, though making a slip dress is now one of my 2024 goals. Thank you so very much for sharing your talent and knowledge with us.
Sending best wishes from Down Under 💖🌼🌷🌻🌸🌺💐🇦🇺😎

I like your videos a lot because content is interesting and visuals are so pretty. I appreciate that you also talk about the fabric -how it behaves, how to tame it, how to take care of it, history of garments etc. Thirty minutes is not long for a video that is full of good stuff, every minute.
Your videos are to the eyes, ears and mind as the silk is to the skin, very pleasant. Looking forward to the next video! Definitely worth the wait.

Thank you for your lovely videos. They're very soothing and, like a lot of your viewers, I truly enjoy the way you incorporate fashion history, sewing and drafting instruction. I also enjoy the aesthetics. You approach is so encouraging that I'm going to try my hand at drafting some of these garments. 🙂

True! 30s were very popular in the 70s! It seems to me also like there was maybe a wave in popular media to process the effects of the great depression (maybe?) Chinatown (74), Bonnie&Clyde(67) come to mind...

I just bought this beautiful dress at a thift store the other day, it looks like a vintage summer dress in this frail, pale green color with a lot of intricate embroidery, and I can't wait to wear it! Problem is... it's rather see-through. So I realized I have to wear a slip of some kind with it, but I don't have one. But I have tons of fabric, and some mediocre sewing skills, so I figured "I'll just make one, how hard can it be?"
Lol, now it feels slightly daunting. I'm actually already busy with another sewing project, and kinda hoped this could be a quick thing I'd whip up in a couple of days or so. Ahaha... of course not. I do appreciate your video though, it's very lovely!

Thank you! For me the key is to not make it a chore - or something I have to do, but to view these projects as a relaxing self care time, with beautiful music or movies in the background, tea etc etc... Hope it makes sense, but that what helps me to actually finish projects.

    Love seeing that you've uploaded!
I just recently learned about cutting certain historical bodice pieces on the bias to allow for better movement in the shoulders yet still maintaining support for the bust, so learning more about bias cut dresses to make really slinky pieces is great. I'd never have thought to cut it bias, simply because in my mind you need to have a center seam to make it "correct" and have the bias meet in a V in the back. Thank you so much for this video! Makes me want to finally jump in on my favorite house-dress I've been wanting to recreate!
