My favorite of their songs. Every time I hear them I want to go beat drums and dance around a bonfire in the woods. It's the perfect kind of primal and I love it so much.
Imagine 3-5 am hitting a 24 hour gym. Put this on repeat on earbuds, alone in the facility besides maybe a desk worker watching the place. Pump iron to the beat. Go until you basically can't. Shower, head home, sleep.

Your initial reaction to this is the same I had. It's soul awakening and something new. Going to see them live in Stockholm in about 2 weeks. Greetings from Sweden
I like so much you reaction. Your reaction is like Heilung: authentic. Heilung was for me a true revelation and I'm stick to their music since I discover them! They are pure genious and also they create and true earthmusic and ancestral song. Such a creation is in my opinion an outcome of a life and of a deep state of being. The music, the choice of instruments and the concept reflect their personal approach to honor their ancestors with respect.
I also heared in the Northern parts of Europe, more and more people are regaining the believes of Nature and the God's which dwell it. It was an old religion, before christianity came and took over.
As far as I know: No, not more and more people "regain" some believes in treegods and thundergods and firegods etc. But yes, more and more people like this stuff... And I personally am glad that their is no "regaining" of this old religions. I don't like Christianity, Islam or other religious crap, but the old religions are really fucked up.

Beloved brother enemy I sing my sword song for you The lullaby of obliteration So I can wake up with a smile And bliss in my heart Norupo, In Maidjan, Alfadhirhaiti and Hamrer Hippyer are some great songs by them as well... or should I say musical compositions.
Metal in spirit, aye. Folk and metal, prog and rock, melodic and melancholic. That's my mix. Heilung has blended in perfectly, just like DCD did, and Tool, and Pearl-Jam, and DTP, and The Gathering.
Btw, this is to be classified 'germanic', from the time when there was one common tongue among all germanic peoples, during the late bronze and early iron ages in northern Europe. They haul inspiration from ye aulde runes, legends and sagas known in the area. I love it.
He's right, seeing them live is a whole different experience. And it's an EXPERIENCE. So cool and amazing. It just hits you to the core. Moves in heart and soul
I have watched and commented on some of your previous reactions and really enjoyed them , but this is the one that got me to subscribe. I have been a fan of Heilung for over a year now, but aside from a few of my close friends I don't see the band getting much attention. So thank you for sharing this with more people.
Just saw them one week ago at the beautiful Greek Theater in Hollywood. Outdoors. They say their shows are not a concert. It's a ritual. And I can completely attest to that. It was the most unique experiences I've ever seen. The production was much bigger. Three backup singer/dancers. The crowd was howling at the moon. The drums just vibrate inside you. It was amazing.
Hi Youngskulenerd (I am older than you). Thank you for introducing me to this band. They are awesome. I love this type of music. You should check out the band Wardruna. They have a very similar style. The live show that they did with guest singer Aurora is amazing.
Seeing this as the most metal is funny and understandable. Heilung means healing and krigsgaldr means war chant. this band wants the world to feel the natural good vibes. This song is about a peaceful tribe being forced to go to war and slaying it. It's a song to remember the worst of the world but to remember to push onwards no matter what happens. Don't forget metal is also a feeling. I agree with what you say. I listen at least once a week. It's old metal
Heilung is Norwegian for cure, so I think this fits. They're the Folk Metal version of The Cure. You're right too - the most metal thing I've heard in a *long* time.
Great reaction! I've seen them live and they're absolutely amazing. I've also seen Maria Franz (the female singer) with her band Euzen live. Very different but also great.
Never was into metal...but Heilung is, as you said amazing. Post if and when you get tickets and I will meet you there and we can tear some stuff up together. Thanks, love and agree with your reaction.
Even if you don't post it, please do the entire LIFA concert. It flows together and is SUCH an experience. Get yourself a beer or wine or whatever you drink (if you do), turn up the volume, and just let it flow. Trust me!
when maria and faust etc are on stage they become the embodiment of the male/female principles, the live experience is more of a ritual than a gig. I've had a chat to a few of the guys online and they take it very seriously, check interviews for confirmation faust (the throat singer with ski poles in his antlers) is like the religious leader/shaman of this very inclusive group. I hope this makes sense :)
Heilung is one of my daily listens. Their music speaks deeply to somthing in me. Something primal yet deep with emotion. I love watching people's reactions to their music especially this song. Seeing how slip into that slight trance. Seeing how you understand and can grasp the feeling. This is the exact feeling I've gotten from this band and a number of others like them. Like wardruna, danheim, skald. But Heilung is my absolute favorite one.
I believe it's based on a rune found in mid-norway.. The singing part is based upon these. Translated from old-norse: "The household wanes, *Vile threw a death wave over those The oarlocks wore out for, with the tired mast-top Who brought the horde to the land afar? The godly-fish from Firnøy’s streams Swimming in the drift of the land of shining meadows." I know the feeling of listening to this the first time. It blew my mind really hard, since i've never heard something like it before. I prefere this from the studio recording since it was more done with PC-sounds which made it more... Anemic? I'm glad they released the LIFA too :)
That is OK. If I remember right they are performing using old Norse and Old Germanic languages that are not used anymore. They also use English, Icelandic, German and Gothic as well.
I got to see them live recently and 100% the feeling the resonance of all the percussion in your body, adds so much to the experience. It's not so much a show, but it's a ritual from start to finish, including smoke cleansings and everything. 10/10 recommend go seeing them live.
I watched this vodeo the first time because I saw the thumbnail and thought, "Who's the babe with the antlers?" Never would have I imagined how awesome this was. I have their CDs Lifa and Futha. Check out Maria Franz's other band Euzen, Judged By and Phobia are epic songs as well.
look the official video about krigsgaldr and retrospective what u say in this video, awesome how accurate a man can be looking this video on the first time :D respect to you
I just recommended this on your latest video, and now deleted it haha.... Isn't this an experience, I was just blown away, especially the first part was so immersive 🙂. Also, i think this was their first ever live experience
I went to the ritual last week in London and you are quite right about the resonances live. The whole place vibrates when the percussion really gets going, e.g in Alfadhirhaiti. It's well worth doing. The show has got a pile more complicated since this early version with an added band of 12 warriors and now there are 4 female vocalists. Svansrand is amazing.
My 20 year old daughter got me listening to them a couple of years ago. We rock out in the van to Heilung while driving around our state to get outta the house.😉

Bruh
This is why you're so awesome
I like so much you reaction. Your reaction is like Heilung: authentic. Heilung was for me a true revelation and I'm stick to their music since I discover them! They are pure genious and also they create and true earthmusic and ancestral song. Such a creation is in my opinion an outcome of a life and of a deep state of being. The music, the choice of instruments and the concept reflect their personal approach to honor their ancestors with respect.
imagine watching this whole concert while stoned. one hell of a fucking experience.
This band feels like home. They're the core of my play list labeled "Roots".
@@Nyj I actually heared that the 'old' religions are indeed really regaiging believers. If true, dont know.
@@neildewestelinck6639 Maybe, I just couldn't find some data, but who knows.

Heilung and Amon Amarth are great bands to help keep holding the heathen hammer high. SKAL!
Amon amarth raise your horns 🤘🤘
@@nagatopainbio-hazard221 Hail the old gods brother!
I'm sad I can only like this comment once!
I listen to this band almost daily.
Krigsgaldr literally means War Magic.
Beloved brother enemy
I sing my sword song for you
The lullaby of obliteration
So I can wake up with a smile
And bliss in my heart
Norupo, In Maidjan, Alfadhirhaiti and Hamrer Hippyer are some great songs by them as well... or should I say musical compositions.
me too man it is almost like morning coffee and i don´t drink coffee
try to get him osn to listen to them more
Metal in spirit, aye.
I love it.
Their work is epic.
greetings to denmark, norway and germany thx for this.
Great reaction man! Loved it!
Like a moth to the flame 🔥
This music has a tendency to awaken what has been lost.
Enjoy the ride and see you in your next Heilung react!
🔥🔥🔥
i tranced out when i saw them live Nov 2019 london roundhouse
@@johickey3158 jealous i need to go and see them some time too
@@antheaxe7340 im 49 next month, an old oth punk and they are the best live gig ever, more of a ritual, you won't be disappointed
@@johickey3158 i don´t think i will ether
Hi Youngskulenerd (I am older than you). Thank you for introducing me to this band. They are awesome. I love this type of music. You should check out the band Wardruna. They have a very similar style. The live show that they did with guest singer Aurora is amazing.
Totally amazing, saw them live last year.
This is True Heavy Metal for Heathens.
Got to see them in Chicago and it was life altering!
That was so haunting and heavy! So amazing! Now I am super annoyed I missed them last time they came to Finland! Once again awesome request!
Heilung is Norwegian for cure, so I think this fits. They're the Folk Metal version of The Cure. You're right too - the most metal thing I've heard in a *long* time.
Actually, It's German for Healing.
I love this group, I have gotten the dvd recently but not had chance to watch it yet 😁
I can not wait to see them in September 😍
All I can say to that is....holy crap! Best thing I've heard in a while :)
Great reaction!
I've seen them live and they're absolutely amazing. I've also seen Maria Franz (the female singer) with her band Euzen live. Very different but also great.
Every song is a ritual. It's beautiful and meditative.
Seeing this live would enrapture the soul...
You absolutely get it.
About flipping’ time! Maria Franz is the real deal.
can´t agree more
Great pick, and I like your sense of humor!!👍❤👏
Never was into metal...but Heilung is, as you said amazing. Post if and when you get tickets and I will meet you there and we can tear some stuff up together. Thanks, love and agree with your reaction.
Been asking for this one for awhile! You’ll love it.
glad you got them but
through and i hope that´s ok with you
Even if you don't post it, please do the entire LIFA concert. It flows together and is SUCH an experience. Get yourself a beer or wine or whatever you drink (if you do), turn up the volume, and just let it flow. Trust me!
Beer? Wine? MEAD! you definitely should drink mead with this.
Illy Khan Yeah, this requires mead!
14:51. She looks into your soul, and finds it wanting.
she can look at mine all day long ╰(*°▽°*)╯
that's not "Maria"
@@johickey3158 who then? 'she', avatar, stand-in, alter-ego, ice goddess, shaman?
@@johickey3158 you mean he looked into the wrong eyes and looked into OldSkuleNerd instead and drowned in them🤣
when maria and faust etc are on stage they become the embodiment of the male/female principles, the live experience is more of a ritual than a gig. I've had a chat to a few of the guys online and they take it very seriously, check interviews for confirmation faust (the throat singer with ski poles in his antlers) is like the religious leader/shaman of this very inclusive group. I hope this makes sense :)
Ahhh! Nothing beats the sound of a handful of mussle shells banged down in a metal plate ;) hehe
But Heilung is my absolute favorite one.
i'm so stoked that more people are discovering this. i have been a fan since they did this first performance. one of my fav musical experiences
I believe it's based on a rune found in mid-norway.. The singing part is based upon these.
Translated from old-norse:
"The household wanes,
*Vile threw a death wave over those
The oarlocks wore out for, with the tired mast-top
Who brought the horde to the land afar?
The godly-fish from Firnøy’s streams
Swimming in the drift of the land of shining meadows."
I know the feeling of listening to this the first time.
It blew my mind really hard, since i've never heard something like it before.
I prefere this from the studio recording since it was more done with PC-sounds which made it more... Anemic?
I'm glad they released the LIFA too :)
hey-lung ;) Love this!
Now you need to do "HELVEGEN by Wardruna ft Aurora"
Not "hey" but "hi/high"
Yes. Helvegen is awesome
best live band i have ever seen, no joke! OTHAN is one of my favs from this castlefest show
That is OK. If I remember right they are performing using old Norse and Old Germanic languages that are not used anymore. They also use English, Icelandic, German and Gothic as well.
omg ur face brah at the horn just screams "mom! l want one!" lol
Traust by them felt like the stars were coaxing my soul out of my body or something ridiculous like that- highly recommend
Heilung! such an odd band but so awesome!
also, "alfadirhaiti" and "In Maidjan" is awesome from them!
They will be in Red Rocks in October.
Yes, October 1st, I would love to go see them!
Wanna hear more "most metal"things by Heilung? Go for Alfadhirhaiti, In Maidjan and Fylgija ear (all from this LIFA performance)
I can't wait to have a chance to see them live, such a mesmerizing experience
look the official video about krigsgaldr and retrospective what u say in this video, awesome how accurate a man can be looking this video on the first time :D respect to you
maria: i´m in a metal band...
them: ok which instrument ?
maria: the bones of our enemies....
Now you are bringing us stuff that we never heard of LOL keep bringing new stuff please
Nordic throat singing, beautiful.
i like that they have variety of music. Helbelgen ( the road to hell) one of my favorites
The whole show LIFA is life altering, watch it bro.
Hauntingly beautiful, yes, that is a good description of Heilung🖤
My 20 year old daughter got me listening to them a couple of years ago. We rock out in the van to Heilung while driving around our state to get outta the house.😉
