Great video. Worked there in 1989. Used to carry crates of bottles (coke, tonic etc) all the way up from the road to the pool bar! Was, as you say, a very busy luxury hotel with fantastic views. Thanks for sharing, lots of great memories working in Jersey The Black Dog bar, supposedly haunted was creepy after everyone left - clearing up at night..
What a shame, I left Jersey for NZ over 50yrs ago, I remember this place with lots of tables with brightly coloured umbrellas with loads of people eating and drinking when we went for Sunday walks and drives. It has an awesome view , I always remember my Pop saying let's go round Bouley Bay for a drive ! Very sad, but the Island has been taken over by the rich English, not islanders, I certainly couldn't afford to come back home and buy a house like I have here 😢
It's was a different Jersey it's still pretty but the states now only want the rich now. I made a video a couple of weeks ago about how I'm having to leave with my family too in May next year
Lovely video..I worked at the hotel in 1988, managed the Fisherman's Bar ( the startline of the Hill Climb races..hard work on race day,and deafening!).. looking forward to part 2...many thanks 😊👍❗️
Thanks for the memory of the WatersEdge Hotel, summer 1963. The bass player and I, standing on the front steps, when a man walked from the beach wit rod and tackle ,closely followed by a female of extraordinary beauty. As they passed us Colin asked, "What did you use for bait?"
I decided to sneak into the building the other day and did a video. I have it on my channel but unlisted, if you want to see it, I will give you the link!
F A Allen and Co, in Bath Street, had the contract for the TV's in the hotel. Used to walk along the roof and jump up on to the higher bit to adjust ariels. Health and saftey , Whats that? 🤣
Danke, Very pleased you liked the video. I would love to visit Germany one day maybe make some videos for UA-cam there too. We went to Berchtesgaden this year on a tour from Salzburg it's a very beautiful place
We were married there. The owners sold it and the new owners let it go into the disgrace its so to make the planning decision easier for the UHNW owners who do not pay tax in Jersey.

Worked in portelet Hotel for years, even 2001 money was turning it to a care home and yuppie sanctuary. 😢 😔.
The Black Dog pub was such a cosy pub attached to it!
It's just so sad to see how jersey has descended into this. But they have engineered themselves.
WatersEdge was at one time a great hotel, had family wedding receptions there! So sad to see but shows Jersey has lost its tourists!
Stayed there years ago, what a beautiful spot - such a waste!
‘Whoever you are, im not sure about graffiti.. BUT you’re pretty talented I do like the picture’ 😂😂😂😂
I stayed there every year 70s to 85 and loved the place The big terrace was a place to drink and lunch and under was the restaurant not function room
I was in there in 2004/5 so maybe they changed it by then but interesting to know Thanks

That's interesting didn't know about the TVs although as far as health and safety at least they had common sense
I remember them! Wonderful people! Are they still there?
Are the Ukrainian workers staying there
We, german tourists, visited the beach there today.
