  • Not all 15mm lenses are the same! A fisheye lens will give you dramatically different results, see some comparisons in this video!

Very helpful demo. Thank you. I have a M.Zuiko 8mm f/1.8 fisheye lens. I was hesitant between this one and 9-18 Wideangle. After I read some reviews I purchased the 8mm Fishey. As you have demonstrated there is a huge difference between them. I am happy with my choise

Hi Eric! That was neat to see. I love the sign and then getting closer and the house. That was cool. Reminded me of a Pixar movie, the house. Cheers and boogie boogie, Ivy.

    Good video,
What is the difference between the different degree angles of the fisheye lenses, for example 180° or 220, 250°?
I hardly see any difference when I watch videos.
And what I would also be interested in is how you get that peephole look with it?

Fisheye looks fun and neat! Thou I have a question on quality, how can we read the specs of a fisheye to try to understand if it’s a good one? I once saw one that didn’t have this nice roundness, I checked the link on the lens and see it’s $1K. Thanks

You really don’t have to worry too much about the image quality, as long as it’s sharp where you need it to be sharp.

Disney Image Makers what about the roundness? I tried a fish eye once at a store and it wasn’t really round like this one, maybe my previous question wasn’t clear. On a regular lens I’d look at groups and elements thou idk much either. Thanks

The best way to evaluate any lens is to use it. If it works for you, it works for you. Don’t worry about specs or measurements or tests. The ultimate test is - does it give you the image you are trying to create?

When I take a picture off my iPhone 7 plus, I get the fish eyed look on my face; my nose, lips and whole face look big and distorted. Will a wide angle lens make my face look normal like looking in a mirror? Also, does Canon camera come with a wide angle lens built or do you have to by it separately? Dope video and explanation btw.

    • @BillEricPhotography

A wide angle lens will cause the distortion you are talking about. Most cameras come with a wide angle zoom lens. If you want to get photos where there is no distortion you would need to use a focal length in the 50mm to 135mm range.

Yes exactly that’s what the people sending fish eye to the upper atmosphere get, a very distorted circular image???? Send a a real image camera to show reality up there in upper atmosphere
