- In this video @carlo.obrien and I compare two prime lenses (Canon RF 35mm 1.8 and EF 100mm F2.0) to a single zoom lens (Tamron 35-150mm f2.8-4.0). Hope you guys enjoy this one!

Great day my bro! Hahaha I still use my 24mm people! But man the 35/150 is crazy good!
Thanks for coming along bro! Loved what you were able to create on this shoot :)
which camera are you using for video dear. Please just right down the name only here. I am waiting for your quick response thankful bro
How many people cringed seeing him set that lens down on sandy ground without either cap on it?
100% agree, I stopped watching when I saw that, I even backed it up thinking naa, he didn't do that... I checked the comments because I knew others would feel the same! Blasphemy to treat a lens like that 😄
Exactly! If I don't cap the back of my lens in under 3s, I'm fighting to brush off a dead insect, two leaves and a small rodent. I can't leave my lenses uncapped.
Yep. Hard to take a photographer seriously who does that. He put it in his pocket uncapped as well! WTF?
yes sssirrr! whyyyy lay it there.. the sand. the dust.. . >,
@@GaryBeilby so true!!!
would be nice to compare 2 pictures on the same focal length (eg. 35mm), one of them made with a prime and one with a zoom. i have not really seen that in any of these prime vs zoom videos. it feels like a missed opportunity.
That’s exactly why I clicked on this vid to see, bummer
@Long Johnson It's not just a matter of being able to shoot in low light, it's about being able to shoot extremely shallow DOF for a different look altogether. There is a very big difference between an 85mm shot at f/1.2 and f/2.8, for example.
@@fakeshemptaboome too
When you start shooting primes, you just don't go back to zoom lenses. Primes are just so much sharper.
Also adjusting aperture to try and get the comparisons as close as possible would've been nice here... Seems like they had a very wide focal plane in all the zoom-lens shots here.
It's nice to actually follow someone who shoots canon. Keep up the good work bro.
I shoot with both zoom lenses and primes. I do landscapes, portraits, streets, weddings, etc. So to me it just totally depends on the situation and flexibility. As long as you invest in good glass you can never go wrong in my opinion.
I'm the same as you Felix! Thanks for watching man.
Exactly
It depends on the persons style. Originally, I got into photography/videography to capture examples of what Should be seen. Reach, macro, wide-angle, bokeh, AF performance can lead you to select the perfect lens for your task. You can't reach with a 20mm, you can't wide-angle with 200mm. You can't have great portraits unless you smear the background out with f/1.8 and say 135mm. You can't take photos of insects or things super super small unless you have a Macro lens. You can't take a great interior or Huge building exterior w/ little room to stand back unless you are say 14mm. I got a lens for Every single purpose. I used to have cases for Each lens until I got so many I just put them all in 1 bag. I used to carry only 1 lens in a backpack but you are limited to what it does best. I have 2 gimbals for video, a slider, and a Jib. I hardly use any of them anymore. I also have many drones as you need to be able to capture in the air.
@@antdx316 I can vouch for macro after I bought a good macro lens (Sony 90mm). It just opened so many possibilities.
@@Sopertist I need a zoom lens I have been saving money for it
i love all your videos, but the color grading for this video is the best so far. nice photos as usual!
Wow really? That's so nice of you to say :)
Always cool to see the zoom and prime comparisons! Currently using the 24-70 and 85 focal lengths.
Nice! Thanks for watching!!
Those pics you taken are super good! Really enjoyed watching this video mainly because of this. Your model also has the looks and the style!
The sigma 35mm f/1.4 is my favorite lens by far! Love the way you compose shots with that 35mm lens! Big inspiration!🔥✨
Cheers Rick!
GREAT! It was super helpful to hear about thinking in terms of focal lengths. I am new to photography and just purchased a Sony a6400 and Tamaron 17-70mm (24.5-105 full frame). You nailed my thoughts exactly when you said for beginners to buy a zoom lens and experiment with various focal lengths. I did not know that I can use Ligthroom to help determine which one I seem to be using more often. One big reason I bought the 17-70 was the constant F2.8 focal length but I can already tell that I would like to have a lens with F1.8 or 1.4 handy.
Hi.. can i get your instagram id or anything to contact you ? I have a6000 now having in a big confusion about prime lens or zoom lens..i seen lot of videos .but mostly they all full frame camara's .so i am not satisfied and still in confusion..
What was the beginning of this video shot with?
love the shots from you guys, real crisp as always🔥🔥 Ive been shooting with a 35mm for the last year and a half and now im looking to grab a zoom so its fitting that you made this video haha, probs gonna go with a 24-105👌
Thanks JP - 24-105 is really good.
Just give me a 15-200mm f1.2 and I’ll be sweet bro... haha smashed this one out of the park homie!
With the sharpness of a prime and all my problems will be solved 🤞🏿☺️
best solution! :)
Don’t forget parfocal as well!
Waiting on the 10mm-600mm f1.2
I'm with you man😄
I like on how you both guys demonstrate the use of Zoom Vs Prime Lenses and you have a perfect model that fits in any pose that you wanted a model to do with.
I feel like to described what to get first a little backwards by saying to shoot zooms and then move into primes. I may be an outlier, but I started on a shoe-string budget and found that primes were the more affordable choice for getting those wider apertures that made my photographs look more professional. Then, as I acquired more money, I was then able to afford the Trinity of 16-35, 24-70, and 70-200 at 2.8 that would cover most common focal lengths but still provide a nice shallow depth of field at 2.8. I can’t tell you how many hired shoots I did with just a nifty fifty 1.8 over 4 years as I saved my money for the trinity.
That being said, I did really love letting friends or family use my gear and when they ask how to zoom, needing to explain that they can walk forward or back.
Good video though. I enjoyed the perspective from you.
Awesome, your videos always touch on the subjects I'm most interested in lol
Yoooo such a chill and informative video bro. Photos turned out clean as too
6:17 amazing! I thought that was good advice to start with a zoom and after a few month see which focal lengths you gravitate towards.
Glad it helped!
They look great. Prime was able to isolate the subject a little more. Really like that pop! But I’m always on the go and having a zoom lens that would allow me to change my angles and focal point in action is awesome
Why would you think that a prime lens at x mm is any different then a zoom lens at the same focal length? Modern zoom lenses are so sharp you would have to use a magnifying glass to see any difference in a very large print. It's not like in the '70's when zoom lens were decidedly inferior. Any difference in the photos will be differences in exposure. Or maybe the lens you are comparing are not of similar quality.
This is great, keep killing these vids! I'm definitely not quite good at "thinking in primes" yet, makes it difficult to know which to snag 😅
Thanks Dan! Appreciate that.
Primes and zooms both have their place. In the past I would say clearly primes were superior, but with some of the new glass designs on the market these days the zooms are incredible.
On a studio shoot I’d go primes for ultimate quality. For weddings and events where you don’t have time to switch I use zooms. A trade off based on time between shots to get the photos.
In my experienced, getting used prime lenses, even ones that are 10 years old, are just as good as the new ones. But zoom really suffers when you go with anything older. The exceptions in my experience (with Canon EOS R and RF adapter) is that the Canon EF 50 1.2 L is horrible on new cameras (I went with Sigma 50 1.4 instead) and the Canon EF 70-200 2.8 L is pretty much the same as their new RF version, just a bit heavier and a tiny bit slower to focus. But anything else, go new for zoom and used for prime.
So relaxing to watch!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Great comparison. For portraits there's simply no substitute for the wide aperture look of the primes.
Try sigma 18-35 f1.8 ART it is zoom lens, and it is razor sharp ;)
@@andrzejfabianski4948 I have it, and I will tell you, you are damn right. Photos and videos are razor sharp.
@@andrzejfabianski4948 for portraits 18-35mm? So wide? I would start form 35mm if I need the whole body but would rather chosse 50mm and 85mm!

If anything this shows it really doesnt matter if you know what your doing, nice video boys
Thanks man!!!
I love primes but as I find myself frequently shooting beach portraits, changing lenses on a windy day can expose your camera and lens to a lot more sand problems than if you just left one lens on the whole time.
a open zoom lens like most will also expose the internal parts as they move out into open air, thats why i would prefer a closed zoom, but unfortunatly they are barely made. The 200-600 being closed zoom pulled me to the sony system as new buyer.
Why not get a few bodies to avoid the lens changing in the field? Not every lens demands ending on the latest and greatest.
@@jochenschrey2909 bingo!
Thanks for sharing... love the pics & comments... yes a zoom is convenient when out walking around taking pics..I am only a hobbyist at 78 yrs & still learning photography... Although I have prime lenses, I tend to most use my zoom... cheers 😀
Thanks for watching - glad you liked it :)
Since the start of my photography career, I've always preferred working with primes.. You might have to move around more, but it forces you to think creatively!
Yes, I 100% lean on Primes for Weddings, portraits and most of my professional works . Zooms for travel, streets, landscapes.
I can only tell low light, this lens is versatile but very bad in low light. Indoor events i could scream and now I bought the 85 1.8 too for more light and it’s way smaller. Got the 35 1.8 too and will sell my sigma i guess after buying a 24 1.8
@@escooterpovaustria6699 ~ I bought a 24mm f1.4 recently, and I was SOOO excited about it! Unfortunately it was the worst buy I've ever made. . .I expected sharp, popped subjects with dreamy, creamy bokeh in the background. What I got was (even when shooting wide open at f1.4) a shot that looked as if it was taken with a 50mm at f5.6 ~ NO creamy bokeh backgrounds!!! :( I honestly think the 24mm lens is a waste of money, if like me you shoot people. If you are a landscape photographer, it might work for you. I sold mine within one week of buying it!
@@lynettelove191 hey lynette:) happy that you ask / I try to help as much as I can. 24 1.4 must be a beast, but its not that easy to use. Things like distortion if you get close would be annoying for me. And 1 thing, only cause you buy 1.4 doesn’t mean you always use on 1.4 / this number tells only the quality of light and sometimes it just for high range people if you buy the originals. Your right, some of these people use it for landscape, but a lot for people too. But not that way you maybe you have looked for. If you really want that bokeh monster you should get a 85MM. You must only know if you always have that space. That was my problem cause i only wanted own 1 single lens where i can do all my paid jobs like event, portrait and street photography. I was already leaning more to 45-35 cause with this lens you can get the whole scene and still if you want nice bokeh you can get nearer without a big distortion. After having this one for a long time I could afford a second one that was the sigma 24-70 2.8 / I only bought it cause a videographer told me this is the GO lens for paid works. He was right but not totally. I had bokeh, but still for my option not enough, and the low light. I had big trouble at my last event cause it was light like in a cinema without light 🤣 just some spots where with lights.
This made me buying a 85 1.8
It’s a great lens now for low light situations and it was close a 3rd price of that sigma. But if you have no space to stand away far enough (~3m) you are Fckd.
So choose yourself and check my photos on insta :D I often used the hashtags of the focals @shotbytad 👋
Prime or zoom, I know that the colors on this video and photos just looks astonishing!!!
Thanks Joao!
You guys made killer photos! I have almost the same setup, EOS RP in kit with the EF adapter then got an RF35mm to start with. Truly a good all rounder as they say about 35s. Looking for a telephoto lens now. The EF 100mm f/2 has the biggest chance, but the Irix dragonfly 150mm f/2.8 is also an option despite the MF only. I thought about the EF 200mm f/2.8 but it is over my limit. Also the EF 70-200mm f/4 can be a good option, but maximum f/4 sounds like a kick in the balls 🤔
Can't go wrong with an 85mm. I also like the idea of keeping an 11mm or a 16mm in there, too. I think the best lens for first-timers is a 50mm, especially over any Zooms. Zooms are better for filming, in my opinion. For photos, primes are where its at. Be sure to do your math if you have a cropped sensor.
Zooms are much more versatile if you need to constantly change focal lengths but that takes a bit more complex strategy and isn't really suitable for first-timers. I think it is better to develop an eye for one focal length at the beginning because it forces you to learn what f-stops are and how to compose properly rather than simply getting your subject in frame.
Learning so much from your channel! Thank you !!!
Yeah, well. It really depends what you use them for. In travel or documental photography I find primes limiting. Flexibility, versatility and speed is what I'm looking for. However I usually have my manual prime lenses (with M42 mount) in my backpack for shooting portraits - if I have time to set up my gear etc., I love to use them.
Weird that you posted this a day ago, as I was looking for videos on this exact topic over the last couple of days.
Also, I think it's madness you put your lens on the ground with no caps on.
Hahaha I knew people would say something :) I ended up getting Carlo to carry my spare lens!
This video is really informative. I love your shooting location. If I were there, I think I'm going to have lots of creative ideas. Beautiful view.
Awesome comparison between the two mate!
Thanks Tommy
I have been trying to decide which lens I wanted but after viewing your video , I am leaning towards the prime lens to fit my needs!
If it is professional grade, you can use whatever camera or lens you will, regardless of sensor size or prime/zoom lens. Unless you crop massively, print larger than A2 or do pixel peep, the human eye isn't able to see any difference.
Good point.
Actually...the only point. :D It's a fact. People and companies just disagree slightly cause they sell stuff. Money will be money, marketing will be marketing until the Sun shines :D Not a big surprise
well depending on what look you want. if you want to shoot open wide you cant rly go with zoom. or you wil need bill gates kind of money
@@leodejongful Of course scenarios can be constructed, where a prime lens is capable of things a zoom can't do, and that normally has to do with the need of extrem apertures like 1.2 or 1.4, which are not available with zoom lenses, or extreme focal lengths. But pictures like done in this video? You won't be able to see if the photo was done with a prime lens or a zoom, when you use the same aperture and focal length, unless you do things like I mentioned in my original comment.
I'm here trying to switch lenses fast and safe when I take the cap off the end so I don't get anything inside.
Then there's you who just walks around with the lenses open :O
my OCD is killing me
For me a zoom lens 24-70mm, F2.8 is a go to lens, If I shoot prime lens, I have 2 bodies and two prime lens.
I’m stuck my self I do Instagram and I have a 35 sigma and need new lens been stuck between the 24-70 gm or New Sony 35m 1.4 I wanna do do videos at the same more portraits which one should I go for budget isn’t a problem
@@afaqnbaGet both. Sony 35mm, F1.4 will be great for low light shooting and bokeh.
Ive been a prime lens only shooter for 17 years but zooms have gotten much better recently. I sold my R6 and RF primes and switched to Sony primarily for the upcoming Tamron 35-150 f/2-2.8 Its going to be a prime lens killer, will replace 5-6 primes and have some awesome features like the focus set button. Using the Tamron 70-180 f/2.8 right now and love it.
Latest Sigma e mount 60/600mm is the true prime killer.
That explains a lot actually. I've tried a lot of older, used and adapted lenses from EF to RF for the R and R7, and the fixed ones seem to hold up much better. My favourites being the Sigma 50 1.4 and the Canon 100 Macro. The only zoom lens that held up to a 30MP+ camera that I tried was the 70-200 f2.8, which is known as one of the best Canon lenses, and for good reason. I was really surprised that the Canon EF 50 1.2 was one of the worst lenses I tried with the RF adapter, and that little tiny lens had so much praise when it came out. That's why I love having an in-person store that sells used gear, so I could trade things in and try out lenses on my own camera in person, and get a feel for what it's like before buying it. My dad sticks to Canon L series everything, but they're not always the best choice in my opinion when Sigma, Tamron, and others make great quality lenses. The only downside to me sticking with the R series is that they all need the adapter. But that came with my camera, so it's no big deal to me, as long as I know where it is (usually I keep it on my 50, and swap it as needed).
While the zoom lenses have indeed gotten much better, the prime lenses also got much better. They have tons of corrections and their sharpness is insane. The implies your prime lens can effectively zoom by cropping, and you will have the same sharpness as the zoom lens zoomed in, although admittedly you will not make the 35-150 range.
This was awesome. I fully expected you to recommend which is better, but instead, you laid it with points from both sides and left it up to the viewer. I am just starting and hope to get a shoot or two this fall.
What will you be shooting? Or, what have you been shooting?
@@joansmith7649 I am just getting started and work full time outside of photography. I have 2nd shot some weddings, shot wedding prep for brides, I have done some family portrait work, and a few high school/colloege shoots.

Hi ! I loved the video! Thanks for comparing the two lenses! I have a quick question.. how do you achieve the shallow depth of field in the first few scenes of this video.. it looks like you guys are practically 3-d? Are you using the Sigma Art Lens at f1.4 with a canon R6 camera ? or is this bokeh mostly post production editing? Thanks in advance ! Hope to see more videos in the future!
Super video. Amazing photos. Colours are fantastic. Its the primes for me. But I have fallen in love with manual lenses. Also great channel.
The Panasonic S line cameras display the focal length you are at while shooting. Really cool feature to have! Cool video man.
This was a great video. Wicked photos as well. Do you prefer natural light shooting? Or would you use a speedlight as well?
Prime all the way!!! Just got the R last month and now purchased the Tamron 35 1.4, now I’m saving for Samyang 85 1.4.
Sigma 85 1.4 is also great
that’s the exact kit i am buying right now
the sigma 85 1,4 dg dn is better than the samyang. I know it costs a little bit more but there is a significand difference between both. It is really fucking sharp and has a much faster AF. I mean the sigma is on the same level like the sony but way cheaper and a little bit lighter.
@@olofmeisterrx5963 i don’t think the dn dg version of the 85 works on the canon mounts
@@cameron3116 yes, I was rooting for the Samyang RF version. That Sigma works if you have the adaptor.

Love my 15-35 with my EOS R ☺️
The Tamron 35-150mm is the travel / portrait package ~!
great job! that RP camera produces really amazing pics and when you realize how affordable it is, it's a slam dunk as a starter camera. My primary camera is the EOS R5 which is an amazing camera. I previously had and loved the EOS R (which was stolen which broke my heart but resulted in me getting the R5 down the road). I had the 6D2 which the RP is basically using the same sensor. I still enjoy using the 6D2 when I can't use the R5 but it's like stepping back in time and it does take a bit to remember the DSLR things. I think my combo is also the RF 35 1.8 and currently my EF 85 1.4. someday I'll get the RF 85. 85mm is such a gorgeous look. I just wish people didn't want to do group shots so much which forces my 85 into the bag. If I could do everything in 85, I would though your 100 pics do make me think about 100 and 135.
The photographer takes amazing pics....not the camera.... with any decent or good camera with GOOD GLASS you can take these pics....if you are a good photographer 😉
@@actie-reactie thanks for the compliments. I appreciate it! That said, the shooting experience is governed by the camera. It's much easier for me (I. E, I I can get lazy) with the r5 versus the rp or 6d2.

Great video as always Mitch ! That sunset was gorgeous 😍 Does Carlo even use his 24mm anymore ? 😂

Can't seperate Carlo from his first love the 24mm
I find the modern high-end zoom-lens to be of such quality that the gap between Prime vs Zoom is being very narrow now unless you go with a crappy entry-level zoom or kit lens. That's why my current bag consist of:
- Tamron 24-70 F2.8 VC G2
- Canon RF 70-200 F2.8 IS
- Samyang 85mm F1.4
The only reason I bought the Samyang was for the F1.4 and have my "official portrait lens" as otherwise I can have the 85mm into the 70-200mm already, and F2.8 ain't that bad already but also that prime Samyang is sooo lightweight and fun to use.
Just got 35 mm for my fuji XT 200 and this is a whole new experience.
Btw a nice location and trio
If I had to choose the one lens to use for the rest of my life, I'm gonna stick with my Sony 35mm f1.4 GM prime lens for all situations. In my personal opinion, it's the most versatile prime lens available. Better than the 50mm because it's too tight for indoor shots such as events or real estate photography and it's a better option than the 24mm because it's too wide. The 35mm f1.4 can get the job done in any situation, you just have to move around more.
I agree. When I was shooting film back in the 70s-90s, the 35mm was my favorite "normal" lens, because it frequently let me "get it all in" when in close situations. That doesn't mean I wouldn't switch it out for an 80mm when I could, but my Rokkor 35 was a champ.
I get kinda confused by this because i have a 24mm lens but my camera crops it to make it about 38 I think and I think its good for most situations! But when people say 35mm I'm like is that cropped or.. 🤣
@@photographsdaily33 oh no, mine is a full frame, E mount for Sony
@@thispak thanks for replying! Ohh I see! Okay so my 24mm would be quite similar then, in that case I absolutely agree with it being the best lens for multiple situations! 😋

Many thanks for sharing (and better late than never to comment!!!); personally, on a learning curve and trying both options; I think they all have their "place" depending on the shoot !!
Let's goooo new video !!!!
35mm F1.4 is my favorite lens, and then the 70-200 F2.8 both are a great combo
It's always good to have some primes for a shoot with a model, instead of a zoom.
Nice shots !
These pictures are so beautiful
Hey, gotta admit, I always enjoy seeing someone who knows how to do what you did there, the "pose like this, perfect!" I'm a candid street guy, partly because I don't have the social skills for it, but also because of the different type of results you get. Still, kudos! Amazing work. And yeah lenses are tools, use the one you have yadi yada, I'm a 35mm ASPC, when I have a zoom I tend to be maxxed in or maxxed out, I visualise what I want better with my feet but that's me ;)
This helped alot cus i really didnt know what lens i want but the zoom it is for first one
Always have the right equipment for yourself look at what works best for you , you can have like a Speedlite but it doesn't give you the result you want unless you just use the normal flash and also starting on a budget helps you perfect your work with low budget gadgets .. because you can look at your previous pictures and now you realize you have improved a lot

I like the video, the model look really good and natural; as for prime or zoom; I personally don't think it matters, I use both, I like primes becauses they are usually faster than zooms but depending on the situation a zoom can be really handy; I use them primarily for video; so there are things that zoom can do that prime lenses just can't like the vertigo effect.; anyways great content.
That's such a good idea, to recommend starting with a zoom lens, then see statistically what focal length you gravitate towards. Insight you only get from experience, got a new sub :)
Thank you!
Quality content as always boys and girls. Look forward to each one no matter the topic! You guys are killing it.
And it’s prime time baby.
Thanks Phil - appreciate it mate!
Great video, and I laughed so hard when you put the lens in the grass.. lol
Great inspiring video ...thanks
Great video!
Great video gentlemen.
Do you guys shoot primarily using the LCD screen?
Lastly how do you guys like using the Canon RP?
I shoot 100% prime started off this way and glad I did, love your guys shots just not a fan of the crop at the knee
loved the pics from the sunset by the beach location
My current strat is have a 16-35 canon L and a 70-200 Canon L with a 50 1.4 right in the middle. All fantastic lenses, all sharp enough for pro work, and if you buy used like I did, really not that hard on the bank (though I'm still on EF Mount)
I would go for zoom. Image quality is so marginal these days. I’m talking about high end quality zoom lenses here. Prime could either push you to be creative or make your photo repetitive and boring depending on your personality.
Good points.
if you could do a zoom 1.2 or 1.4, then I would agree.
Try manual vintage prime lenses, more fun too
@@onlysublime I never shoot anything wider than 2 to be honest. Those apertures are overrated. The only advantage that I see with those apertures is astrophotography where there is no depth of field needed and the amount of light they can pass through.
@@kai64 and low light wedding/event. Lower app is valuable.
I like primes, but the ability to dial in your background more perfectly on a zoom can be a big advantage you didn't mention. Sometimes you just can't move yourself and subject in the perfect position when limited to a few primes.
other advantage of primes, depending on lens, is they tend to be more sharp, especially around the edges, have less chromatic aberrations and nice bokeh
@@ascelot But if you can't get perfect framing and you end up cropping photo to get it right, you will end up with lower resolution and less sharpness at the end.
@@Stasiek_Zabojca that's the trade off between zoom and prime
I would love a more detailed review on the tamron 35-150mm from you. I saw your video about when you first got it. I am considering it for my travel and general all around lens. The f2.8 on a zoom lens is pretty awesome. And, I head it doesn’t go up to f4 till about 105mm. Which is perfectly acceptable IMO.
I agree primes are for better for more professional gigs such as portraits ext. I will always go with the 85mm for most portraits. I am trying to get the love of the 35mm that you have though.
The 35-150 is a nice "walkabout" lens for doing a medival fair or LARP event or a railroad event. I have long used a 24-105STM for that (on the 80D) and recently went 35-150 on full frame. The f/2.8 at 35-around 50mm is a nice bonus, the f/4 is good and beats the EF 24-105 Canon, compets with the Sigma.
If I go "portrait" I go 24-70VC/70-200VC on full frame. Good enough for my needs in DOF, stabilised, beat the EF 1.8/2 primes at f/2.8 (The f/1.8 Tamron primes are better)
My thoughts are the same as in my initial review even 1year+ later. The only thing I would say about it is it isn't as reliable in terms of focus speed as other lenses and I've noticed it has accumulated a lot of dust on the inner elements over time.. it doesn't affect the images but its maybe just something to keep in mind - if dust is getting in moisture might affect this lens long term...
Use both always. For Weddings I zoom. For portraits, studio work, and having fun prime usually.
I've shot with 35mm 1.4 for 95% of the time for like 10 years, made me a better photographer. But now I have 35mm 2.0, 50mm 2.2, 75mm 2.5, 85mm 2.8, 105 2.8, 135mm 2.8 and 150mm 2.8 all in one lens! All proper sharp wide open. Amazing Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8... Still learning getting the most out of it and remembering keeping those feet moving!
You know I like the nature of prime lenses that forces you and the model to move a lot and be active, which creates spontaneous beauty
cool ! that location looks kind of haunting though
Incredible images
That 100mm is so nice. I loved every shot.
