♥ ECREW
What is Ecrew? When I had to uproot and move to Indiana, there was a car community called Bcrew (B for Bloomington, Indiana). These guys became my family. Instead of partying on the weekends, I was working on cars- and I loved it. Since starting youtube, I have started what I call Ecrew. It's a community where you get to take 10min out of your day and be involved in a build, but more importantly it's a family.

Don’t piddle around just put in a ZZ632
Did the Z06 sell? You mentioned it may have in the last video?
Amelia you should get the big block demolition ranch got for his Camaro its a smeding performance big block
GM L8T Single turbo/TH400
No lie, Sandy has been a great addition to the channel. You two have really developed some chemistry
Why would you lie? 😂

@@dsanford12ngl this is true😂😂😂😂😂😂
A genuine guy and he knows his shit. They make a great team.
I love that she blew a motor and barely got to drive it on a car she JUST got and she still has a positive attitude 😌
Having 1.31million subscribers on youtube will have that effect.
She's so pretty and smart.
I would not be able to resist turning this into a legendary ZL1 Tribute resto-mod and put a strong cammed 427 in it and make it perfect. No need to make it crazy. Just strong and dependable. You have other cars to really go nuts with. Make it that and just keep it till the wheels fall off.
A 427 in this car is EXACTLY what she needs! Maybe a low-profile blower... and a modest bump in the hood to make it your new sweet Daily Driver?
Definitely! Just make it into a strong street.cruiser. the less parts the better. But emilia simply can't help herself.
I'd actually do something like a Steve Morris SML. A billet version of a Chevy LS engine.
I have one of the last "original style" ZL-1 engines that Chevy made, and even though it was built with a roller valvetrain, let me be the first to say that it does NOT like unleaded - even 93 octane non-ethanol, which leaves me always having to fill it with either AV gas, or race gas. NOT an ideal engine to daily, IMHO.
I really like your thoughts for this Camaro. Yes, drive it, but never let the wheels fall off!!!!!!!!!!!LOLLLLLLLLLLL
She'll never do that. It'll be some twin turbo LS that always breaks or catches fire.
Sandy " I Don't Believe you" - Best line of the episode
She 1000% deserves a big block!! Let’s see how that new 632 from Chevrolet performance fits 😊😊
Well, I guess it depends on what you plan to do with the car. A popular choice is to update it to a modern LS or LT motor. There are quite a few to choose from and they can be relatively economical in their gas mileage. (Mattering on how you set it up.) Additionally, there are several shops out there that can re-sleeve it to almost any size you can think of. (I have often thought of trying a 7.0L LT-1 5th Gen motor in something similar.)
6.2 supercharged LT4 is perfect, in my opinion. Also, that was a good choice. It is a very good-looking camaro.
The escalade v engine would be perfect
Absolutely boring.
How about a modern interpretation of the 69-Z28-302 CI motor? All aluminum with modern components that will allow you to turn high RPM without damage. Of course the slush stick would need to go and something like a Tremec 5 speed in its place.
Two options a LS7 or a unicorn 632!
632!
Go old school and put a 396 in it with a supercharger. Adjust your suspension so you can get a good hookup and that means obviously tires too.
I agree but with old school mechanical injection
Agreed
AMAZING IDEA 👍💡
How about 632 big block create motor.
540 big block from smeding performance like demolition ranch has maybe?
Call Brian Tooley and have him build you a big displacement LS3 normally aspirated 700 hp daily driver. Drop out the stock sub frame and install a Detroit Speed subframe with the good suspension and brakes.
Lets Go Emelia! I love how you are taking each of these cars back to their previous owners! Its heartwarming 🥰

I think it’s pretty cool that emelia likes to share the experiences with the people she buys vehicles from.. I’m sure this Camaro will turn out to be a beast once she’s done with it.
Even though I'm "old school" (I'm 66), you can't deny the abilities of the newer LS. And LS reliability is epic! Aluminum 5.3 with a supercharger will keep the car light and nimble while providing insane horsepower. And ditch the slushbox - a '69 Camaro needs a manual. A 6 speed and 4.11s would get it at the drag strip while allowing good economy cruising in the overdrive.
You just basically described how my 69 is setup and it’s a riot
Yep, for this particular crew LS is the way to go.
Put a coyote in it
@@wizza2315 how about the Godzilla 7.3?
I’d rlyyy love to see a 572 in her with a very nice chop. Give it a real cam, with a baddy of a motor.
If you want to keep the "stock" look, stroking that engine to 383 with heads/cam is the best option. That also gives the trans the best chance of survival!
be 6 m5k r m
I would go with an aluminum 427 stroked and cammed big block with an old school roots supper charger for the sounds. With twin fuel injected carbs. The old school look with today's programmability.
A 600 hp crate motor coming. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh no, that's terrible.
its all going to work out in the end! you and your crew will figure everything out and that camaro is going to be one of the best around!
Don't fool yourself. The seller knew EXACTLY what he was selling you. He laughed as you drove off...
Typical for a Latino when selling to an American.
I would buy the shell alone for the same price and maybe $5k extra .
@@EARTHKEENING You misunderstand the meaning of what he meant. Not that you bought a lemon but that the seller knew and screwed you over anyway. He misrepresented himself and the car he sold. That's why I never trust a mexican selling a car.
Drop in a Steve Morris SML with a Procharger. Should be plenty of room. If not, there's *gobs* of options. Could go with a 327 and 8-1 headers, running a flat-plane crank & matching cam. Revs to the moon and sounds badass doing so.
Bro... you Steve Morris "just put an SML in it" people are hilarious. A custom billet drag engine is NOT a good option for this. The SMLs cost $89,000 lmao
a) It's drag & drive. I would posit they're *FAR* easier to maintain and push than anything out there. That means if you back them down from their max potential, you've got a bulletproof platform.
b) You missed the episode where we found out what she paid for her Unicorn, apparently.
c) You completely ignored everything after my first sentence. Way to be selectively outraged. What a f'ing tool.
it is so funny though. the joke used to be twin turbski lsx 427, now it is smx or the smaller more practical sml lol. $100k motor not to mention everything that needs to go with it. so basically frame off pro touring $300k build. but yes everything should lol. @@Shadow0fd3ath24
@@Shadow0fd3ath24 Lol, no kidding.
8-1 headers are impractical and just dumb.
I've always had a soft spot for the high-revving 302 in these early Camaros, so maybe a modern interpretation of that? And with a manual transmission, of course!
Yes a dz
I had a '63 Nova with a 590 hp 327 small block in it back in the day. Naturally aspired, 2 x 4bbls ran 10.66 @ 135mph and it was my street daily driver. Only race I ever lost on the street was to a '69, 302 Z 28. I'd think hard about that 302!
302's from the day were sweet. The dual carb (Smokey Yunick manifold) were fast. Just think if you built one today and fuel injected it?
I said the same thing! DZ is the way to go.
Classic #1 rod knock love it those old small blocks need lots of oil pressure!
Emelia, I'm not sure I've ever known anyone as continually positive as you. I think I'll give it a try.
The lane change thing is geographical. Where I live, people ALWAYS move over if there's a car on the side of the road (even if it's abandoned). The further you travel to the coasts, the worse it gets. Same with people cruising in the passing lane.
I'm helping my cousin build a 67 Camaro with 6.2 LS3 with all the goods. It's a great build. But cost of the parts have gone through the roof that was bought 3 years ago.
572 supercharged would be epic
Even a 572 with a cam so it sounds like it's properly barely running and then it just rips the tires off of it.
Or the New 632 Big Block!
@@gillesthibault429 didn't even know that was a thing lol. 1004 hp and 876 ftlb, that thing would be a complete savage in any size car. Plus it's says it's a 12:1 cr, it probably sounds insane.
I think a LSX 454 would be nice or a supercharged LT5. There are so many possibilities. Or go old school with a 427BB or build a 302SB. What ever you choose it will be great.
What would be the point of doing a 427 if it's a BBC? If you start from scratch with a BBC platform, just go right to 540 or 565.
@@AB-80X my point is those were the two best engines you could get in 69 Camaro when new. It's a nostalgia thing. Me myself would go with modern muscle like I first listed.
@@jamessoda8915
It’s always a matter of taste and what personality you want the car to have. I think a 565 with an alu black that revs to 7500 would fit the cars personality well. It would be temperamental, but with the parts available today, it could be a reliable build all things considered.
Alternatively a 434 small block again with an alu block, and SB2.2 heads could also be fun. Those heads easily supports 800 hp on pump gas. That setup would be both fast but also handle well.
So many options.
The ONLY Way to Go is BIG or Go Home!!!! 572 !!!! OH!!! and Twin Turbo it too!
With the spark plugs out, bring a piston to tdc, then down an inch, insert a socket extension and push on the piston. If the piston clicks or moves at all, then the rod bearing is toast.
Or wrist pin
Rod knock
It's knocking so don't waste your time..pull it out
I’m sure her and her team will fix it!
Ah, that's some inside stuff there.
Put a 4 rotary with twin turbos,it will be good on fuel for cruising,it will turn hrads and throw a tune in it at the track if need be!!
Emelia, to determine what engine to put in the Camaro depends on what you're going to use the car for. If it's going to be a daily driver, then go with a smaller block engine, as that will give you better gas mileage, and won't cost as much to buy. Of course, you could always rebuild the existing engine, and just use that. If you're planning on making it a track car, then get the biggest, most powerful engine (a 427 or a 454), then supercharge it, and install a nitrous system.
Emelia your a very trusting person shows you are very fair and honest person, not everyone is that way. Love your personality.
Might as well go full chassis build now. Roadsterhsop Spec Chassis would handle whatever you throw at it and cut down on fabrication. It s a $$ over time solution so all depends on your goals with this cars journey.
Not sure how extreme you're eventually wanting to build this but I think some obvious engine choices would be a 383 stroker, a 572 big block, or a modern LT4 setup.
Agreed.
572 would be amazing!
@@seanroberts381 I agree. A simple cam swap can do so much for this engine and still be a good daily driver.
Might as well go all out and do the ZZ632 ;)
Before you rip it out I would get a filter cutter and open the oil filter up and unfold it, it will be super clear what's going on inside the engine. I'm only saying this because that sure sounded like a spark knock. love what you guys do, Great videos. I would sure like to see you get to have some fun with it before reality get to stand on it ( donuts are a must )
They don't need to cut open the filter. It was obvious there was metal in the oil and cutting open the filter won't tell them anymore than they already know..the motor was knocking when they put the plug wire back on and wasn't when the plug wire was off..time to pull the motor
Leaking valve cover gasket. Dripping into spark hole. Needs wires too. And one coil unless it's a distributor? Cap might be bad?
@@DarrinR.-pq8md😊
Motors are cheap compared to a strait rust free ‘69 Camaro. I recommend all aluminum 427 BB with an M21, or if you’ve got the guts go for the ultimate M22 Rock Crusher. But please put modern suspension/Brembos on it!
A big block, but don't cut the hood. Sneaky mode engaged.
Has to be a bbc 502 or bigger no replacement for displacement and they look so much better than any ls I like the tune able part of the ls but appearance wise the big block looks the best in those cars
If she's putting in new suspension, and she does track days, I'd think a stroked small block, or an alloy block LS, would be far better for handling , and still have adequate power...
Yeah I guess so but nothing looks better in a 69 camaro than a big block and ls engines are just ugly I have 3 of them but still a bbc looks so much nicer especially in that car
Another small block using an aftermarket aluminum block or an LS7 ls if you are going to track it
Put in a 2JZ or rb26 and make it a drift car. No one will ever expect it
I would just do a basic rebuild to get you by for now. It would be the cheaper option until your ready for a swap. And to see sandy build a SBC is great!!
Go with a built 396 to keep it old school. Update suspension and brakes. Kept it enjoyable to drive.
You should most definitely put in a 427 cu in (7.0 L) big-block called the ZL-1 and turn this into your dream Camaro build
What it needs is a built 396 fuel injected. I’ve been looking at them on Blue Print engines. Still a small block just a lil better.
Yes they cannot go wrong with 5 years 50000 mile warranty
I found you not that long ago .. and I seen all of your videos in one day ..no lie.. huge fan.. and your not to far from me so thought that was cool
Never a dull moment Emelia!!
Depends on how hard you're going to run it. 350 small block is fine, as long as you have a solid bottom end.
No they aren't. They are only good if you want 150hp and keep the shifts under 3200 RPM.
New motors are leaps and bounds more reliable in general as well as have much more power.
@@aaronb7990 needs a fuckin texas speed 427😂
Hands down, ZL1 motor w/a tremec or keep the Automatic in it!! Ck out the blue classic camaro, the "Guyz" on another YT channel did one in. Almost the same yr as yours w/a ZL1 swap. WICKedly fast killer set-up.
I watched you buy it. Pretty sure dude knew. You didn't get ripped off. It's a solid ride. Would love to see you stay true to the era and give it a 302
A 302 with twin turbos
Maybe a coyote. Old Chevy 302s are not what people thought they were.
Given how much work the chassis needs for the power you will inevitably put in it I would focus on getting it stripped and braced up and all the suspension sorted out. It will save a lot of work down the line including positioning the driveline and engine as so many mounts need changing/reinforcing so you dont just fold that thing in half.
Solid advice she won't follow. Creates more content building them wrong so trouble occurs.
And, when the engine is that "good", that paint job is most definitely hiding secrets.
@@oikkuoek I was just saying that after watching the video. Interior is crap, bumpers painted to avoid chrome, exterior trim missing - entire car is half assed.
If that's a good deal for $40k out there, I'd hate to see the cars they said were worse!!
That was a $20k unfinished project car IF it is rust free with a solid body under that paint.
I don't care about making money from content, but just over paying for cars without even fully inspection to assess work needed to complete - just keeps moving the price of junk up, like TV auctions did.
I love Emelia and her passion, but since she got wealthy and sponsored, the true enthusiasts careful buying and project planning has turned into just buy, be sweet, maybe finish the car, and buy again. It's not the grass roots build spirit from a budget builder anymore.
If she was truly down to just buying the body - I hope it's pretty mint. Now , throw $50k into the drive train, fully restore the interior and have a sweet 69 Camaro - regardless the cost vs. value.
@@chief455 Inflation in the market happens, when idiots pay real money for plastered dreams. 800 dollar clunker is not a "Resto-Mod" and a chop shop plaster special is not a "Fully Restored Classic" These titles are for real deals, cars with documentation, prowess, known history with expensive storage and maintenance program. SB4 7.0 l Mercury 750 hp N/A ( LS7 wit DOHCs) OR Ameribarra 4200 vortec twin turbo 867 whp 7500 rpm 26 psi boost
It may sound odd but I'd put a Steve Morris engine in, supercharged or twin turbo, your choice. You don't need to make 3000+ horsepower with it, it'll hold up to whatever you want to run and is easily upgraded when you want to make more power.
Other options could be a 396 or 427, many options available in that platform.
Bro... you Steve Morris "just put an SML in it" people are hilarious. A custom billet drag engine is NOT a good option for this. The SMLs cost $89,000 lmao
@SethN.24 You get what you pay for. If it's too much to invest, she can make that decision, she asked for our opinion. I also said a 396 or 427 would work also. If you think Emelia is going to put a junkyard motor in, you haven't been around long. 396 and 427 blocks aren't cheap, cheaper than a billet, but not cheap in grand scheme of things.
If it was me, I'd put a billet supercharged motor in. I stand by my opinion and if you go to good car shows around the country, 1000's of others sink 10's of thousands into engine builds alone. Just because you can't or won't afford it, doesn't mean it's a bad idea, it just means you can't afford higher end components.
Texas Speed would be a way better option for her and what she wants to do with the car. They even work with and sponsor big UA-camrs like Cleetus and Matt from Demo Ranch. Steve builds a serious engine but they are not affordable or practical for what she’s looking to do with the car. If she was looking to be like Tom Bailey or the next drag and drive champ I could understand but she would have to build an entirely new chassis and setup to support that type of power. Then your talking a couple hundred thousand between the engine, trans, drivetrain and chassis to even use the potential of a SML engine 🤦🏻♂️
@@jonathanrollins7292 True, Texas speed is a good option.
I'm stoked to see how the build comes together on the Camaro. I'll definitely be lookin for ideas for my dream build.

How about the boys at texas speed doing up a bullit proof 358. 6 inch rods and 3.50 stroke crank with an 8.990 deck. A roller motor with a set of maybe 210 or 220 aluminum heads. Fuel injection, of course !!
One of those GM turbo six cylinders. You know the one, Grand National or the Anniversary Pontiac Trans Am.
I want to see a N/A big block 572!
I'd give HED a call and have I high winding small displacement LS built for it! 6 speed with 3:73 gears and cruise it!!!!
to keep the small block platform...yet make epic power get a sbc 427..Blueprint and Shafiroff build them
Please don't LS swap it everybody's doing that try to go with something nostalgic I would even suggest going with like a 400 or a 396 maybe change it to a 4 speed and try to have it back to some original kind of look with you know modern breaks performance clutch also get rid of that God awful steering wheel with the rims I saw and the steering wheel guy put in he was obviously trying to go with like a resto mod but if you are going to go LS I highly suggest that you go with like a 408 and not a 5.3 or 6.0L
Old school 427 for sure. I was thinking that and then i read some of the comments. Good call Roman. NO LS!!!!!
Old school 427!!! Aluminum heads, single 4 barrel. Make it super reliable, yet nasty.
No better time than now to reach out to Chevrolet Performance for their ZZ632 crate engine. 1000+hp pump fuel EFI
Best running and handling car will have an LS. An LS3 would be great for me but a supercharger would be awesome too if the budget allows. An LS7 swap would be a modern take on the '69 ZL1 formula.... all-aluminum NA 427. 500 NET horsepower. The 6.2s would probably be more bulletproof. Whatever else, fuel injection and overdrive would be essentials for me.
Classic, 4:02 "The look of disapointment from Sandy" Nah it's a Chevy. Oh Please.. lol
You need the ZZ632 BIG BLOCK CHEVY. put out over 1000 + horsepower.
Throw a 540 blower motor in there and have some fun pause throwing a turbo 400 with a 411 gear now that should be a lot of fun on the street or uncork it and take it to the track have fun like I know you will😎🏁👍🍕🍻
I went with 540 BBC in my 69 Camaro. It's perfect if you don't need any traction in any gear.
Hi Emilia, love your videos I would love to see gM’s new 632 in your Camaro. I have a 69 that I’ve owned for 40+ years 540 big block drag racer limited Street use still in love with it.
why didn't you just go through Dynacorn or something? Those are the cleanest bodies you'll get and chassis options for those builds are awesome
You should put an all aluminum ZL1 427 big block, stroked to 496, in the Camaro. You can twin turbo it if you want, but you should keep it all under the cowl induction hood. BTW: 9000 RPM isn't "taking it easy". LOL 😎🏎
My dad has a mustang Gt bullet and he wants to work on it but he never has the time but he loves that car
pull it out pull it apart then decide sounds like a rod to me. 427 if you have money thought a true DZ 302 car is very hard to find these days.
That's a RS rally sport Camero it's not a regular Camero its worth more money then a regular camaro 10:08 that's why the head light's close up covers
Myself I don't like compression testing I prefer to use a cylinder leaked down test it gives you more info and the condition of the engine
Oh too bad it's not a
69 Pontiac firebird the first year they offered a trams am
The new engine for this Camaro build has to be one supplied by V12 LS, an Australian company that specializes in casting V-12 blocks based on General Motors V-8 architecture, using LS7-type heads. It makes 750 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque. ULTIMATE SICKNESS!!!
427 stroked and blowen unless you are going to set-up for road racing that's what they were designed for.
As much as I hate to promote anything really modern, I think a LS swap would be the best idea. Simply put, the LS has a better head design than a SBC. It's still a pushrod motor so, at least you can get a cam that lets it chop at idle. I would also stay with a carb instead of going EFI.
Reality - people build cars that are pretty to look at, and push reliability to the back burner. I just bought a 64 Fairlane that's absolutely gorgeous, but the mechanicals are all at least 20-30 years old, and they have been nothing but a nightmare.
Top it off with MMO, splash of motor honey and some 40w and it should last until next tax return comes in.
Time for a TEXAS SPEED ENGINE TURBO STYLE
Get the 572 big block with 6 speed manual and swap it in there definitely make it a big block
If you can find an LS2 with ‘auto trans’ you would have the perfect daily runner!
I think you should either do an all aluminum 427 and build it super nasty like what you would’ve got back in the day and a drag car. Or you should go with an LS7
A De-stroked LS7 with a 6speed sequential and BMR suspension.
Amelia switch the front tires to the correct side/direction before driving the car again.
Big block on the cards for the camaro and some suspension mods she'll be fine no problem for you Emilia
If you put a d16z6 in it I’ll subscribe 👌 deal?
Well I have an affinity for a blown 355 small blocks because I used to race them in the 1/8 mile. If it’s a good 4 bolt block that would be an easy build on camera. Or you could stroke it to 383. My favorite Camaro is the 427 big block with a M22 Rock Crusher 4 speed.
who buys a car without a "test drive" ?? ... oh yeah, women, what was i thinking??
Well, if you want a cool motor i love a 377, destroked 400, they make great power and rev to the moon!!
572 ci crate engine ... you won't beat its power for the same money
Then do the rear gears ..
Seeing as you plan to upgrade the suspension and your not one to skimp on your parts i would suggest a 572 ci .
Put an absolutely NASTY 2JZ in it. Would be kinda unique!😁
Keep it old school! big block and carbs, please no injected LS...
That is my dream car 😍😍😍it would be amazing with a supercharged LS
There’s something so off putting about her now. Idk if it’s cause she comes off as brag-ish or a try-hard but it’s super cringe. I miss OG Emelia.
definitely 427 engine supercharged but please put a manual gearbox !!
