Wow ..........l was enjoying this till the girl started singing LOL .Sorry luv but back to the AGT auditions ! 😢 Last saw KB about 10 years ago at the St Andrews Hotel and was a great gig ! Hope your doing well with your health Kev so you can entertain us for years to come !
What a stunning performance by Kevin. Talk about saving the show. I have no idea who the woman was, but .... ouch. I'm not sure if she sung one note on key. I admired her philosophy of her guitar solo. "If you play every note on the fret board, some of them will be right".
@@grahamchapple3552 that’s great. I’m glad you appreciated her more than I did. I wonder if she could’ve held that song together without a great Muso by her side? I’m all for playing with passion, but there has to be some musical ability.
I remember watching this on Rockwiz, Kevin is a great player, watch his fingers, he wrings every bit of tone out of those notes on the old strat, vocals are good too. Then I thought they'd let Yoko Ono loose on stage, the wailing, more brilliant Kevin, great rock lead, then the "Alien" noise guitar/beast has landed to fight the Strat. I actually enjoy watching this but give Kevin a more worthy adversary next time. cheers.
classic song classic cover is borich playing the guitar or the guitar playing rape murder its just a kiss away and the rockwiz band another that should be played very loud
Thanks Rockwiz for redoing this Stones' classic on last week's show to atone for the god-awful performance by Penny Ikinger....... the excellent Vicka Bull has just proved beyond all doubt that 4 years ago she should have been your first choice for backup singer. Please also bring Kevin back to Rockwiz with a decent duet partner so we can all fully appreciate his talent.
Onya Neil, KB just had to come here to be appreciated. (and for the electricity) HA HA! He complemented Keys in the Mergers, shone in the La De Da's, who were the inspiration, the blue print of so many to follow. Then blew them away as KBE. No matter the trials and tribulations, where he played or who with his talent is undeniable. The unique style that is the man Kevin Borich is a LEGEND. Respected in higher places than the all so ran, youtube and the swill on T.V. Rock on!
i love the band the drummer the bass rockwiz is famous for the band another good one is the collective like a rolling stoner same band classic song aussie version of dylan
I saw him play at the Rye foreshore too. He kept playing shitty old blues songs. (I'm not a blues fan.) Was waiting for him to play Morning Good Morning/Gonna See my Baby/Goin Downtown etc. Presumably he played them towards the end, but couldn't wait that long. The La De Das were the first band I ever saw live; lunchtime concert at school in 1975. I was totally blown away. I've seen/heard him at least 4 times over the years.
This a copy of a comment I posted on a Party Boys vid so sorry for duplicating it but it fitted right in here...We had some massive nights out watching these guys play around Melbourne in the late 80's. A great talent mix and the one who used to blow us away every night was Kevin Borich. We'd be about 20 feet away from him on stage and he was at the same time ballistic and in a world of his own on his guitar, like nothing I've ever seen before or since
It says above that Kev is a Aussie, Kev is a New Zealander and good on him, I am an Aussie that does not need to own every great New Zealander .. ANZAC,..
Mr. Borich's guitar work was spot on... Ms. Ikinger obviously is a fan of the avant-garde... just doesn't seem to fit here, but hey, I guess it's TV? Entertaining at least. Great tone from Kevin's strat here.
just wish to point out, although Kevin Borich is a resident of Australia and has been for many years, he was actually born in West Auckland, New Zealand, but thats all good, we don't mind sharing our talent
Geezus Paul Barlow, Kevin Borich is a kiwi mate, i should know, I was in a group in NZ called "Judge Wayne & the Convicts" around 64/5 and all the kiwi groups used to do the same venues, & Kevin was one of them,, it's a wonder you didn't mention Pharlap, Pavlova, or Neil Finn
as said plenty of times before flipping heck there isa version of this with tim rogers and the bull sisters ripping it up with the house band ,, who where on fire that night even better then kevin here
tommyau2006 Yes he is! .....Kevin Nicholas Borich[1] (born 27 October 1948, Huapai, North Island, New Zealand)[2][3]is a New Zealand-born guitarist and singer-songwriter.
Don't be hate'n on the girl, she sang it differently to what most people might be use to, still with passion, as that is what this song is about, anyone know her name, I'm interested in hearing what else she performs.
This duet would have been great if the talented Kevin Borich had been accompanied by a classy singer such as Vikka Bull. Unfortunately for Kevin, this woman was in a surly mood all night on this Rockwiz episode. When it came to the duet she ruined it - can't sing, can't play. Please Kevin come back to Rockwiz and re-do this song: I'm sure that SBS will find you a decent singer who wants to be there to duet with you next time.
Out of her league completely, and then when KB tried to rescue her lost soul delivery screw up vocal offering, by building a solo with the band, she had the obstinance to come over the top and obliterate it with some rubbish guitar, what a mole....however, KB is so much more gracious than the stupid comment I just made and her impertinence, whoever she is, tough night for him though for sure. Good on ya KB, you are as well known for your good grace and gentlemanly ways as your terrific musical offerings, and that is quite a feat, major kudos you legend !!
With a performance such as this, most of us would be too embarrassed to mention nationalities. We generally recognize crap no matter where we come from !!
...don't know who the gal was, but she just added something extra to that song. I think Kev looked a bit concerned when she was running her finger up and down the neck!...oh well it worked good.
Who's is this gad damn awful want to be pretend no talent woman standing there making catlike wailing noises ruining this otherwise great musician ship.
@chrisb1953 ... you're being a bit harsh there chrisb. She in a zany type of way, fitted well into the performance and the whole thing sounds and looks good. I'll admit the(her) guitar playing was pretty putrid but unbelievably wasn't out of key. That little echo solo bit added, again, a bit of zanynous and well hopefully you could watch it a few more times to see that it wasn't all that bad.....it was good!
When you consider the Stones had Lisa Fischer as their backing singer for many years, She set the bar way too high for the girl singing the duet here to get anywhere near.
I thought a minute or 2 into this , it was going to be another incredible Kevin Borich clip. Then ............ she opened her mouth. What an absolute insult to Kev's intelligence, to play alongside that embarrasing voice , and her unneccesary useless guitar input. Borich , his usual brilliant self xx
Well I'm sure they rehearsed etc, so he would have already known what little talent she had. Hard to figure why she was there, maybe she was good in bed ! ;-)
The very best Rolling Stones song of all time! And the signature Vietnam war song!
Seen Kevin Borich & Joe Walsh , Play together done Rocky Mountain Way . they were Fantastic.
Would have been AWESOME!
