Awesome seeing Jinjer back on your channel! I love the riffs on this song, one of my favorites off the Wallflowers Album. Awesome reaction, keep the Jinjer coming!
As I said they're becoming one of my favorites for sure! More Jinjer will be coming! This reaction would've came way sooner but I wanted to get my mic first before I recorded any more videos. Thanks for watching again man! 🤘🏻
This song/album was released in August '21, Russia invaded February '22. The music video has shots from a few European shows before the invasion happened, but they released it a few months after. They had to cancel the rest of their scheduled shows including opening for Slipknot on Knotfest. Eugene, Vlad, and Roman were stuck in Ukraine for months after the invasion because males couldn't leave. The band eventually got special permission to tour as ambassadors for Ukraine later in '22 which they are still doing today.
I just love the variety of songs they make - it can be jazzy, thrashy, reggae, blast beat - whatever they write - and they make it sound amazing every time. Thanks for doing this - it is a torrid tempo, then goes softer and Tatianas vocals soar above the great music. They started their concert first time I saw them a couple years ago with this - the crowd was wild all night! 🤘
the sound from your mic is absolutely ok, just like the sound from jinjer is ok! Thanx very much for your reaction + Jinjer has been one of my favorite bands for 6 years now > like you said, the music, the lyrics > everything that makes JINJER is world class............... maybe next: JINJER - Vortex (Official Video) warm greetings from a german musician
This album was released before the current war began. The video for this song was released the same day that Roman, Vlad and Eugene were allowed to leave Ukraine and start touring again as cultural ambassadors for Ukraine. That's why the text in the beginning was added a few hours after the video was first released (without the plea for peace). The song itself is about Tati's struggles with being held up as an idol in the metal world, which is the polar opposite of her introverted nature off stage.
No, she doesn't write her lyrics beforehand. The band sends her a rough cut of the songs a full year ahead of time, but she procrastinates and doesn't do anything with them, because she says she can't get inspired until she's in the studio. So she waits till the day of. Then she goes into the studio feeling pressured and frightened. She breaks down in tears, drinks some vodka, cries some more, cusses everyone out, then gets in the booth and starts grooving to the music and writing poetry in Russian before translating it into English lyrics. Lol. The band says they are always surprised by what she comes up with. In other words, she's an artist who uses an insane method to tap into suffering. She explained it to Elizabeth Zharoff in her interview with The Charismatic Voice.
I don't think the song is war-related, but they have a platform and couldn't be silent. I think this was ready to go as their song/video release to kick off the spring touring season then everything had to get put on hold. When they released it they kinda had to say something so they added the message to it. Pretty sucky situation for them professionally. They were set to open along with In This Moment for a month of Knotfest shows and do a couple of shows with ITM. What's crazy is they were originally supposed to open for Slipknot in Poland in 2020 but then Covid happenef. They did eventually get to open with Slipknot in Europe later on last year after getting approved to tour as cultural ambassadors.
@@Tyler_Reacts. of course! Some of my other favorite Jinjer songs that I recommend, if you haven’t heard them, are: Pearls and Swine, Sit Stay Roll Over, As I Boil Ice, Retrospection, Perennial, I Speak Astronomy, Vortex. Just to name a *few* 😅
Totally agree with your sentiments on the Russian aggression & war generally. In this song, Tatiana imagines herself as a malignant narcissist who has let fame go to her head, thus displaying the ugliness of that personality type. She has said that she would like to live one day as that kind of person. The only real relationship to the theme of war is that malignant narcissism is rampant among the political leaders who start the wars.
Hopefully the mic quality and volume are better than my previous videos. Thanks for watching! Fuck war.

Thank you for clarifying! I read so many comments about different bands I get stuff mixed up sometimes. But that's awesome!

What I understand is that she first writes the song on Russian and then rewrites them in English. She is a lyrical genius.
She definitely is!
My fav band. So many layers musically, spiritually, emotionally....😂 u name it though. Love the depth to the whole band
Love this video! Big fan of this song and band. Thanks for sharing!

Dude...do a Face Yourself reaction. That chick shreds vocally as well. They're more traditional deathcore too
What song by them? I'll add it to the list.
@tyler-reaction Face Yourself "Death Reflection" ft. Isaac Bilbey
You should give Eastern Skylines- Deceiver a listen 😊
I'll add it to my list nerdy!
Can hear you real good bud! For the lies I'm pretty sure it said
