when i went to their show in october, they opened with this song and as horrendous as my memory is, it caught my attention enough to search it up later and when i went to their next show a week later i was really looking forward to it
I think Tati said it's roughly about a woman who is so egotistical and full of herself that she wants everyone to bow down to her every desire or something like that. Tati explained that while she could never be such a cruel and careless person herself, she did admit that maybe she'd like to try that persona on, if only for a day.
I like the instrumentation of this song, it could easily be the background music of any army marching or deployment/breakaway song, it just has that Wizard of Oz Flying Monkeys vibe. The vocals just haven't settled with me yet. It seems to me this song fits like the reverse of Bad Water, where the growls and harsh vocals are such a majority of the song, whereas Bad Water was the cleans, and instead of a fantastic lower mood of the instrument side, this one is charging forward. Just my opinion, and it's subject to change, as this album has mostly tracks that had to grow on me, it shouldn't be shocking this track will be the same.
Especially towards the end where it has that really creepy feel during the "would you treat them differently?" lines... The bass and guitar parts there are spooky as hell
DUUUUDE same Mat! The part in the middle is the best part. One of the best parts of the album. I'd say the entire 2nd half of this song is the best.
