Friends of mine bought up Fishtown back in the 80s knowing that in time it would be a hot place to live they also did this in Fairmount too. The Loonstyn family has a strong hold on these areas they had the for sight and vision of what was going to happen. They nailed it. Do you know Mike and Johnny Loonstyn? I grew up with them in Fairmount?
Looks very nice !! And looks like a lot of fun.I never new that neighborhood was there. And watching this video made me very hungry !! Great video !! Thanks.
I always think that Philly as a whole is more comparable to Brooklyn itself haha! (I don't think center city is ever going to be comparable to Manhattan, unfortunately). But I do really like that area of Philly. And in fact I think this area probably has a twin in Brooklyn itself, which is the Williamsburg-Greenpoint area in the Northern part of the borough. Which is probably also my favorite part of NYC ;)
@@venturephilly yes please. If you are gonna talk about the walkability of Philly and SEPTA you should mention grocery stores in the area or if there are any in the area. It's something I know a lot of people are interested in. I grew up in west Philly and I remember having grocery stores along the bus route especially when my family used to live in University City along Spruce Street, not too far away from Center city and Penn.
Considering a move from Brooklyn to Philly and looking for areas that are closest to what I have here but with less people and less noise. I wish your video would expound on the diversity. What type of diversity? Brooklyn has every culture represented so it's hard to beat that. It's really hard to leave this place but it's time.
You can’t call the river wards a neighborhood. Frankford, Holmesburg, Bridesburg, Port Richmond, parts of Kensington, Fishtown, and Northernss Liberties are the river wards.
I live here, it’s pretty good for Philly standards. Edit: all the restaurants you mentioned are top notch, I second your recommendation.
Do you have a favorite?

That's great that they got in early! Home values have significantly increased since they bought, so that's awesome.
Best Vibes In Philly!
Such great vibes!
