This is an old irish neighborhood. It gets hotter than hot in the summer ! The houses are really big , they don't look it . I've been in some beautiful homes , redone to perfection . You can pay a million or more for a nice corner home . It's very walkable .

How are the public elementary schools here?

Talk about a sugar coating, this neighborhood is a 5 to 10 walk from the largest open air drug market in the developed world. Your very likely to be a victim of petty street crime if not violent crime if you make this your permanent residence.

My son had to move out. His car was ransacked "only" 3 times in six months. A few blocks in the wrong direction will greatly enhance your odds of bad crap happening.

Were trinity homes there since the quaker times

Used to live in Philly as a youngster. Now live in Chicago. They're the exact same city! They are both crummy except for downtown and the suburbs. Pockets of both are nice. Rittenhouse Square, Society Hill in South Philly, and the area around the University of Pennsylvania. In Chicago, it's Rogers Park, Hyde Park, and Lincoln Park. They are anchored by big time universities. Depaul, Loyola, and the University of Chicago are in those 3 areas. The only difference between the 2 cities is the accents and Chicago doesn't have any trolleys. They both have many sports teams, a solid arts scene, and you can eat yourself silly in both cities. Another commonality between the 2 is that they're both dangerous as hell!! Had to get out of Philly as I was days away from getting whacked by a street gang in West Philly. I was 15 years old!!!!

I got divorced in 2006 and bought a Condo in High Rise in Washington Square. No car. Besides saving money with no car payment, no auto insurance. No gas. No EZ Pass. No monthly parking. No upkeep. I can walk everywhere. 30th Street Station blocks away. UBER. Cabs galore. Great buses and Subways. Trains to burbs. And the best The MegaBus double decker bus to NYC is super cheap!!! And walking is healthy. Love not having wheels. (One girl I dated who lived in Burbs said it was an issue, so that relationship didn't last long!)

I live in Society Hill and the pavements are made out of marshmallow. And the street lights are licorice. The streets are gold and the people are gingerbread. Wonderful place.

I love this! Philly holds a special place in my heart, as my father grew up there. I was always enchanted going to visit family as a child. I have hope that the crime that is so prevalent will decrease. The resident s of this beautiful city need to see these videos to realize what a magical city they live in!

There used to be Charming places,not any more,and the Blue collar people have been chased out,even in Fairmount,i believe that Catholic high school is now closed,Roman.Dont think there are any left in the City.The new intitled people have to deal with it now.No more Blue collar to protect them.The dark side is never talked about.

strange how some of these town houses are exact twins in other parts of the city but sadly the blacks have destroyed them and they are now slums
