Hi youtubers and commenters- I never realised that this film would be so popular. Thanks for uploading it. It is basically a film from the pilots view. Working a lot with airshows this film is made a bit outside the buzz of airshows. Pär just called me the day before and said he would pop in with the Spit on his way to a Biltema promotion gig. Bcs I had told him before that I wanted to put Gopro'es onboard to see how it is to fly this beatiful aircraft. Pär Cederqvist that fly here is a very skilled flying instructor from the Swedish Air Force. Grown up in the air force with Harvards and the early jets. Mastering them all. Owner of a private airfield and fly his flown his Tiger Moth there, -since for decades. So please feel sure, this precious warbird is in the best hands available in Scandinavia. Keep e'm flying.
Hi Reidar, I'm amused about the pumpkin heads' comments about engine and music. I think it's excellent, how the maker put together the wonderful RR sound and one of the most touching tunes from those dark days, makes one to think and reflect about so many things, life, history, bravery, hope... Congrats, a really great video.
This is the first time I've liked a Spit video with music in place of the engine noise. When the sound muted I was disappointed, but then I heard the song... and shed a tear or two. Great job chaps, please keep these beautiful aircraft airborne so our children could witness them in flight.
Although the music was great, I stopped watching when it started. I wanted to hear what the pilot hears. The sound of the wind and the engine, major bummer. : (
For those that comment about the music being appropriate, valid point. But as a gearhead, I really wish people would simply post a non-music version too. For those of us who want to hear the sweet music of these engines and want to experience the sounds from the pilot's seat.
What a magnificent video. Sorry for the folk who didn’t appreciate the sound clip! It was very significant in the day and I believe there was ample Merlin symphony. Thanks for that
That looks to me like an LF Mk16e, the last of the merlin powered Spits with the 'low back' ie bubble canopy. Very last shot is what looks like a Mk14 griffon engined Spit. What fabulous footage, thanks for sharing it.
Nice! Memories of SAAF Museum Spitfire bubble top MkIX come rushing back! Wow bit fast on the primer? Normally need to pull back and pause to let it draw fuel, but she started ok. SAAF Museum Spit was also an easy starter. closing cockpit door would normally leave it on the partially open latch as this would stop the pretty heavy bubble canopy slamming closed in a forced landing after take off. Simle matter to fully close then hand crank the bubble closed when safely away. Wow that look over that lovely long nose....brings back memories!
The 5-blade Spitfire (Mk.XVIII SM845) was involved in a fatal accident, which killed the pilot, a couple of years ago. The aircraft is now back in the UK, being rebuilt to fly.
If you don't understand what this music meant then you know nothing about the men who flew these aircraft, or the desperation of the time in which they flew. If you can enjoy the video you owe it to these men.
After playing full real battles in war thunder, I know how easy it is to get in to a flat spin during on of those maneuvers. And he got real close to the ground
***** But if lost, valuable pieces of history are gone, and those can't be reposed... In 2003 the last airworthy He-111 in the world crashed, killing all it's crew... it was a terrible lost
I'm really torn on this subject. Both sides have a point. These things need to be preserved; I'm 30 and what sparked my interest in WW2 aviation as a child was seeing a Spitfire and a Mustang do a high speed flyby at an airshow my father took me to. I think it's fair to keep a few flying specimens, but maybe we should stow them and get near exact replicas (totally possible nowadays, if not cheap) up in the air to keep younger generations interested.
I discussed this topic with the late Mark Hanna in 1997. This birds must be flown and shown in their right element. Even though the risks involved. Some few will crash, yes, bcs they are built for war and inflight technical problems may not be possible to resolve. No back up systems like todays planes. However, flying and showing their beauty in their right element have pushed and financed many many new warbird projects on the airshow scene. If dusting them down in museums there will also not be restorations and newbies. Mark Hanna's words... RIP

Bor i Tønsberg å viste ikke om dette, skulle virkelig ønske jeg hadde vært der, er det slutt på sånt som dette på Jarlsberg?

A beautifully flown Spitfire & wonderful sounding big Merlin..
Vera Lynn made it very emotive & felt proud to be British.
Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful , truly beautiful song from Vera Lynn. Thank you .
I love the description "Music by Rolls Royce and Vera lynn" :D
Although the music was great, I stopped watching when it started. I wanted to hear what the pilot hears. The sound of the wind and the engine, major bummer. : (
Same here.
Haha yes, the Merlín is the music😊
You know..the best musik for us ..the sound of engine of the plane😈
Oh come on you should of left the plane sounds in while it was flying, nevertheless still awesome
For those that comment about the music being appropriate, valid point. But as a gearhead, I really wish people would simply post a non-music version too. For those of us who want to hear the sweet music of these engines and want to experience the sounds from the pilot's seat.
Robert Smith but what a song.....
What a magnificent video. Sorry for the folk who didn’t appreciate the sound clip! It was very significant in the day and I believe there was ample Merlin symphony. Thanks for that
I saw this fly a few weeks ago at the F11 Airshow at Skavsta, and, my god, I want to get into the cockpit of that thing so bad.
That looks to me like an LF Mk16e, the last of the merlin powered Spits with the 'low back' ie bubble canopy. Very last shot is what looks like a Mk14 griffon engined Spit. What fabulous footage, thanks for sharing it.
Kinda ruined this by replacing the sound of that glorious engine with music...
LucchiniSW I agree but luckily a suitable song was chosen.
Hello, the music is "White Cliffs of Dover" with Vera Lynn. A famous wartime song.
FANTASTIC VIDEO! THANK YOU!!! I was looking for JUST these kinds of interior shots of the cockpit while in use. Cheers!!! :)
Love the music, thanks for the video!

Awesome video, I'm very envious. Looks like seven members of the Luftwaffe didn't like it though.
Thanks, however - credits must go to Tommy and Pär from Biltema that flew this photo mission for us. And let us plaster the plane with Gopro cams :-)
For me the Spitfire is the most beautiful '30tes Plane.
beautiful flight and even as a 30 year old I love the music , it reminds me of the older times
Yes,
it is two different Spits from same owner Biltema.

The opening shot is a 4-bladed propellered spit. The closing shot is a Group in front of a 5-bladed maybe spit. ?
1:14 Haha, that little ring from the exhaust.
Really nice video. Spitfire is the most beautiful aircraft from WWII.
Awesome, I lifted at hawkinge, right on aerodrome, the home of these birds " Battle of Britain" heros. Lest we forget.
Thanks for uploading, great pictures, but would it be possible to upload the video with just the music from the engine, please?
Amazing video thanks for this... just wish the Audio quality was better...but still awesome... cheers min!
Hi there, Could i please use your footage for a documentary about spitfires I'm making here in NZ? I will credit you of course.
Reel Filmz Yes. You have my approval to use this Spitfire film in Your production for Reel Filmz. Best regards from Reidar Berntsen date 30. dec 2016.
Awesome, gets the juicies flowing! Thanks for sharing, keeps the fire burning!
Priceless !! There should be more vids like this of warbirds done with head cameras.
All going great until you had to spoil things with the music. Brilliant song, I love it. But I was loving the engine sound more
absolutely beautiful footage.
Thrilling flight even from my computer desk. Many Thanks
Hey thank you for the video! Could you tell me what is the song playing on the background?
Good stuff. I prefer the music by Rolls Royce.
how many Spitfires are in conditions to fly? here, in Brazil have one!
Lovely song as well as a lovely bird.
GoPro set a 3 fps?
You don't have a hand anymore... Great video, you are incredibly lucky. :)
Great video
Is IT a replica or is IT from ww2??? On norwegian!
+MrShotgunJoe Original Mk XVI.. :)
After playing full real battles in war thunder, I know how easy it is to get in to a flat spin during on of those maneuvers. And he got real close to the ground
best vid i ever saw
Excellent - Thank you
Anybody else watching this late at night hoping that if they watch it enough you'll dream about flying a Spitfire?!? Haha, amazing!
This is beautiful!
For the first time that I didn't hate BGM that much
you can see the curvature of the - he's so high
Nope...it comes from the gopro
Fair enough - my regards to them as well for making all this possible!
Music by Rolls Royce 😂😂 that got me
Aereo leggendario, complimenti.
IN MEMORIAN ! Erich Hartmann Hans-Joachim Marseille. (Jagdgeschwader 52)
Super super super !!!!!! Schöner spitfire . Wonderful
Haha great music choice. The sound recording wasnt of very good quality anyways.
Oh god, why you destroyed this video with a music?
Don't mind the music. The audio recording is pretty poor quality anyway.
Is it full throttle?
I didn't fly, but I would say no, definitely not.
probably not
man, Only time I've ever heard a merlin and enjoyed it!
Perfeito.. muito obrigado!
Low level aerobatics. When will these guys learn? Theres a video of a Spitfire, Aircobra and P-38 all crashing doing low level stuff.
Oh my God you're right, perhaps we should all live the rest of our lives hiding under our beds and never do anything that has any risk attached....
Superb !
I love the power of airplanes
Where is the autopilot :0
this is EPIIC !!!
Great song, appropriately picked. But honestly I just wanted to listen to the engine.
Only man would put guns on something that beautiful
Oi!!! Do you realise how lucky you are to be flying the most iconic and recognised plane probably in the world? Do you? Mr pilot? Damn you!!!!
so risky to flight WW II planes now...
Why ? these things are rock solid, the engines can be overhauled with modern machinery and metal fatigue can be spotted with scanners.
***** But if lost, valuable pieces of history are gone, and those can't be reposed... In 2003 the last airworthy He-111 in the world crashed, killing all it's crew... it was a terrible lost
Lemard77 But again, experience over value.

its so beautiful...
Made my rivets weep with joy.
genial la ballade en spit !
Can't believe you drowned the Spitfire's engine out with the White Cliffs of Dover!
Ha it says dong on the side of the fuselage
can i just point out it says 'Dong' on the side of the plane
No, it doesn't. It says NG-D
Please dont ever ever tape music over the sound of a great engine again
Agree, lol
Actually... yes.
Of course we did not want to hear the sound of that beautiful merlin, jeeez.
Superbe !
Should have used Aces High by Iron Maiden
Nice.
Klawo jak cholera ,sam bym chcial tak posmigac !
1:15 Spitfire Smoke Ring FTW !!
im in love
Wow.
That bloody music..............
Hand me my brown pants...Please.
Nnnooooo music !, was cool
Ok better
lol it says dong on the side 3:30
Pity about quality of the film and the Vera Lyn over music instead of listening that beautiful engine!........Crappy
the music is stupid
very poor performance I notice..
Ekte som det går an
Music not necessary !!!
Sloppy editing.
