Glen and John. Two of the best musicians of the 20th century. They had a mutual love and respect for one another and they just loved sharing their music. They're gone now. I cried when I read in my local paper that John had passed away back in 2000. I believe it was cancer. He was still in his prime and had more music to share with us. And of course Glen suffered from Alzheirmers and was robbed of his memories--but he did remember the chords of many of his songs even if he forgot the words. See you on the other side of heaven, guys.
John and Glen were so great together. Glen owed John an amazing debt since many people thought that he wrote Gentle On My Mind. But Glen was such a Gentleman that he always paid back his debt.
I was such a fan of both men, but my interest in Glen Campbell waned when I was in college (@ "Rhinestone Cowboy"). My love for John lasted, and is still strong. He was an incredible man.
Campbell was the most accomplished singer guitarist in the world. And he was among the best singers and guitarists as stand-alones. And he was good looking. And he tried to be a good person.
Respect both artists, love ❤️ glen campbell, and that song by John Hartford springboards glens career… but who didn’t notice that they were singing two different verses… 😂
@@nashvilletennessee3194 What a stupid comment. When the weather got the worst, linemen went out to work. If he's writing his comment, that means he's alive. I hope you thanked a lineman that you had enough power in your computer to write what you did. Maybe that's why Glen's song touched so many people, since most people appreciated the work they did.
@@lawrencetaylor4101 I'm not sure who typed that comment but I know that I didn't. My own father was a lineman! Does that mean my account has been packed?
Nice try Johnny Hartford ! .... Because that actually it's Hank Snow's 1959 " Rhumba Boogie". And Hank plays the guitar, as always, in it : ua-cam.com/video/_fxRL1WyXsA/v-deo.html

Campbell is a consummate professional - his playing and singing are flawless. The two of them sound great together.

Hartford is a diamond. Glen is a polished technician that never ever makes a mistake. What a pair...
