I own the full fairing DCT bagger version. Did a 2,000 summer tour on it. Fantastic bike. I had a hard time finding one. Baffling they discontinued it.
Oh wow. That’s awesome. And I agree, it’s a great bike for both beginners and advanced riders. It’s possible that it didn’t sell very well. But at least they’re keeping the DCT line alive with the Goldwing and a few others.
Nice job explaining what the bike has on it and the different specs it has. Clear and concise without a lot of bs. I'm looking at a 2015 but without the DCT which I think I would prefer as this will be my first bike and I believe the simplicity of not having to get used to shifting gears especially when downshifting is a good idea for a first time rider. Particularly when riding in heavy traffic I want most of my attention focused on other traffic and not on getting the shifting just right. Most cars these days are automatics so I don't see the need to change to manually shifting just because I'm on two wheels instead of four. My safety always comes first in almost everything I do and I can see a bike like yours with the DCT and ABS brakes enhancing that factor. I'm sure that the 670 cc's or whatever you said the engine size is will be more than enough power to do what I want to do. Ideally I probably prefer to have a bike with less plastic covering the engine so when something minor happens there is easy access to the engine plus I just like the look of the exposed engine when it is dressed nicely. Once I've gotten used to riding maybe a switch to something more in line with the aesthetics I prefer in a bike might be in order. Keep making these videos. You seem to be a natural at doing it right. I've seen a lot of other videos where the presenter didn't seem to be prepared and was kind of just winging it off the top of their head. Your presentation was impeccable and very informative in every way. Thank you.
That really means a lot, thank you for the kind words. And I couldn’t agree more, this would be a first great bike. Super smooth and easy to ride. And with it being a DCT(automatic) you’ll be able to focus on traffic and have much better situational awareness, which was the main reason I went for it. Hope this helps
I couldn't agree more. Low maintenance is important to me as well. I don't want to have to be continually fixing something on the bike as that will get expensive for a man of my means.
I have the same one and love it!! I put a few upgrades on it handlebar risers, lights,music and hard bags. I am thinking of some custom pipes next. I also did the Windshield and floorboards.
I might want to add a few nice little frills and maybe change the paint scheme but most everything looks pretty good straight out of the showroom for me. An analogue set of gauges is my preference over digital for the most part. The speedometer and tachometer in analogue and the rest can be digital.
@@AdonisArias Yes it sure would be nice if manufacturers are sharp enough that they pay attention to what some of their customers and potential customers are saying on social media platforms like this one. I don't know how hard or cost effective it would be for manufacturers to make these changes but in a perfect world a buyer would at least have the option of what they want with some of the more minor changes. I'm sure most people aren't expecting Honda to make any major changes or they wouldn't have bought or even considered buying one of these bikes in the first place. I guess all we can do now is to wait and hope and send Honda a big Thank You if and when they make the changes many of us want.
Great review! I bought one last summer and absolutely LOVE it, except for the constant chain maintenance (clean & lube) without a factory center stand 😕
@@AdonisArias In my opinion it would be nice if Honda had put a shaft drive on this bike but I suppose there are cost considerations that would perhaps put this bike at a higher price point and make selling it harder than it already is. It seems to me that most experienced riders don't even want DCT and prefer to keep shifting gears so change for them is a tough sell. Shaft drives have much lower maintenance needs than chains. I'm not a great mechanic so less maintenance is always a good thing for me. Not to mention I don't want to buy a bunch of tools and I don't have a nice warm garage to work on a bike. I'm surprised that this bike doesn't have a centre stand as I thought that all bikes of this size had them. For what the extra cost would be for Honda I think this might be a bit of an oversight in not providing a centre stand.
@@AdonisArias Riding it home from the dealer I could tell the bike is very comfortable, has plenty of power, and loves the curves. So I have to give it, two thumbs way up.

Yes on the pipe! I got a LeoVince slip-on for my NC and the difference in the sound is remarkable, but not much louder than the OEM.

Those changes would be nice. Hopefully they redesign the bike and add all of those things

Couldn’t agree more, it would be so great if it had a center stand. I ended up buying lift stand from Amazon to make the cleaning a little easier.
