It’s sad seeing narcissistic sociopaths taking advantage of lonely, depressed, and insecure people. It’s the same dynamic with almost all cults. The leader preys on individuals by inviting them into what appears from the outside to be a loving and accepting community. Then, once these people cut off all their outside ties, they become totally reliant on the group and that is when the abuse starts.

For example, with the Heaven's Gate Cult, after part of the group committed suicide, the survivors/people who chose not to consume the poison, years later or soon after committed suicide because they felt as if they missed the ufo and felt if they killed themselves that they would join the others who killed themselves. I've watched/listened to this episode of DtRH so many times that my first thought here was: "FF house is really lesser known cult?"
I remember hearing about "The Final Fantasy House" a few years back and I'm still very disturbed and think about it on occasion. It's one of those stories that stick with you

All I can say is I escaped a cult in 2017, it still tormenting to this day,
You will know your in a cult just examine yourself and examine those around you remember that any group of people can be a cult. If you have the option to leave, trust me staying because you feel an obligation from guilt, don’t cults love bomb and make you think you owe them anything they ask. If you can’t leave don’t let them break you, find something outside of the abuse to focus on as much as you can ( for me it was my bike)
I say if those who can’t leave willingly to find your way out and take it that place will take more than you know.

It's worth noting that anyone who encountered the FF Cult (It's Jenova, not Jenovo, and I hate that I know that) had no idea this was going on. I ran into them in my livejournal RP days way back when, and they seemed nice enough, though they were soulbonders. That's what they called otherkin and shit back then. It was REAL popular among LJ RPers, to claim that their characters were alternate personalities to excuse dumb behavior.
But yeah, Hojo, Jenova, all of them, they would only go by those names and were very insular despite participating in an activity that sort of requires you to interact outside of a few people, but they weren't offensive and insular to a point that if you engaged them, they would outright ignored you or anything. At the same time, when we heard about all of this, absolutely no one was shocked.

Then checkout UA-camr "FearAddict" - they cover largely the same material, however FearAddict presents certain information that Fred, doesn't. After The FF7 House disbanded, Jennifer Cornet moved onto another Fandom, The Hannibal Fandom. She went by many names, but "Freddie Lounds" on youtube is NOT Jen(ova), dispite sharing an alias. Freddie chose the name to spite Jen.

There is one in Bohol, Philippines. They have a you tube channel named A Foreigner in the Philippines. They recruit young girls and operate under the guise of a being a charity channel. The leader is an 81 year old American with a wife 50 years younger than him.

I can't remember why, but for an assignment, I had to do, either in my senior year of high school or one of my first semesters of college I wrote a paper about Father Yod and the Source Family. Again, I can't remember the circumstance that led me to write about that lesser-known cult. However, I genuinely found it quite interesting to learn about. Deburke I think that you do a great job talking about the other cults that I have never really heard of.

4:45 Please don't take this as harsh criticism (I'm only saying this because I love your channel), but I gotta say this actually isn't true, and I wish you would've researched this more because it does hurt your credibility a bit if you're going to continue making videos like this (and I really want you to). Jennifer Cornet (Jenova) and the others in her FF cult house attempted to start many other cult houses. She's currently in the Hannibal fandom. If you haven't already, do some more research about her. There's a LOT out there. You could probably make a really interesting video about it. She now believes she's soul-bonded to Freddie Lounds from the Hannibal TV series. There are people who are keeping tabs on her and it's not hard to find info about where she and her cronies are now. The woman is insane. The whole FF House crap occurred not at all far from where I grew up and still live.
Fredrik Knudsen also did two videos on the FF House (the guy who does the Down the Rabbit Hole series). They pretty fascinating but disturbing. It definitely deserves a follow up, and I'll bet you could be the one to do it if you're looking for video ideas!

Jenova (Jennifer Cornet) from the Final Fantasy VII house actually moved on to another fandom. No clue what she is doing now, but a few years ago she went active in the Hannibal Fandom under the pseudonym Tattlecrime. If you google Tattlecrime you most likely find a webpage exposing Jennifer and her antics.
The whole story is a shit show, but still entertaining. People are just f*cking crazy.

The Ant Hill Kids are one of the worst cults ever. Two words that should never go together are “amateur surgery”. I recommend the Last Podcast on the Left series on them if you want to really churn your stomach.

A Final Fantasy VII cult. I'm a long-time fan of the game and its spinoffs/remake, but I admit that I'd never heard of such a thing until I watched this video. The character Professor Hojo is a psychopath and one of the main villains in the franchise, so it doesn't surprise me that one of the cult's founders genuinely believed she was him.
(Minor correction: the character's name is Jenova, not Jenovo. It's an alien, which is a bit of an oversimplification of its true nature, but I'd be revealing too much otherwise.)
