I was able to do this farm on the ground, it works perfectly well, but what do i do about the cats? They dont die by the lava and it takes too long for them to despawn, i tried putting a campfire above the hopper, but it made me lose a good portion of my irons, could you help me resolve this?

you can put campfire, but you'll need to make the collection system 1 block lower

Farm is alright but the rates you mentioned (2k per hour) is impossible without a stacked iron farm. Avoid clickbait

I think you can make a staircase with several beds along the way, at night they go to beds and you destroy them, that's the only way I see it

Put them in a boat then use lead on the boat and bridge up
