Wow, as a 70-year--old woman who recently moved into an Assisted Living facility studio, did I need to see this! You've given me some brilliant ideas for maximizing my space. You are my NEW FAVORITE PERSON TODAY! Thanks so much ~ (P.S. This looks beautiful!)
She's very inspirational, isn't she? :-D
She is so good at what she does and these videos show us that no space is too small. Its just avout putti g thought and heart into our homes and spaces. Living in assisted luving you can still maje your bew home so cozy and happy videos like this are inspiring and uplifting. I think livi g in smaller spaces is good for people of every age we learn to appreciate and take care of our things and also a small space prevents us from collecting too much stiff so its a win win😁💖i wish you a lot of happiness in your new home!
@northern_lights My dad was ex military and he used to say he could live on a stamp.🤣
@northern_lights You are right. My Canadian home is 2000sq ft and that is not considered really big here.
She’s wonderful!
Her reaction is everything. I think people overlook your client's reactions. They are quick to judge a little thing here and a little thing there. Katie was in AWE of her studio. That's all that matters! You have a true talent Alex!!!
People are so so judgemental and its really annoying. I always want to reply to them with a question on what they have ever redecorated and if we could see where they live😠. Alex is doing a great job and i think she has great talent. You go girl💪
Sisi Nene I agree 😊
I concur!!
Katie's reaction is everything. Imagine going from the clutter to the zen. Life changing
Exactly!
My favourite part was your obvious love for your friend at the end. It was heart warming. I no longer live in tiny spaces, but I'm now disabled and like to create spaces where everything is in easy reach for me, so I don't have to struggle to get up too often. So, for example, as I sit here at my desk, everything I need is in easy reach. Tiny apartment makeovers give me ideas for my little, accessible spaces, though I've almost never seen a tiny apartment makeover that would work for a disabled person. It could definitely be done though. It would be a fun challenge for you.
Who else came and watched this after seeing the updated makeover??
Guys, kindly note she states that the client Wanted a console table. As much as there is storage to consider, she also had to put into consideration the client's wishes. Also she may have not tackled the bathroom because it was not part of the agreement. Before we rush to Criticize, let's consider that we may not know everything about such arrangements. Great job!
Phyllis Freelancer a console table with one or more baskets underneath would have been my choice then, to store SOMETHING there.
Due to the fact that she also has shoes to store, I might have suggested to client, that going with a small shoe cabinet in the entryway would have dual purpose.
I agree guys. They flubbed this up just to skimp on money I am sure
Love that you wrote this. Ppl are so mean and judgemental
Even a console table can have a drawer or two and for safety reasons I never leave my keys or handbag just inside the doorway. One simple act of forgetfulness could compromise your safety and financial security. When was the last time someone asked you for identification or required you to enter a pin number in order to use your debit or credit card? The only thing a person needs to take your car easily is the key fob. Hit the alarm button and your auto is identified.
Oh wow. This is absolutely the before and after that I live for. Excellent job Alex. I mean this is what your makeovers are about. Changing lives, one home at a time.
We often forget the kind of impact our home, whether big or small, has on us. I see so many people who are so much more than what their living space screams. It's always stressful to come to a place which doesn't match up to the person you are. You transformed this home into a beautiful haven that Katie deserves. I truly understood why she teared up.
Love from India.
K Shekar I tear up too just to see them! It’s more then decor absolutely. It’s making a house a home.
This comment made my day - thank you! This is exactly why I do what I do. Not just to "decorate" but to make people feel like they have a home, and not just a temporary rental space.
As someone who lives in a 150 sq ft studio, I totally understand and relate to Katy's reaction. Amazing job with this, Alexandra!
What a transformation! I love how it became her home and even more, I love your care and kindness towards others. You are truly uplifting those who get makeovers and all of us, who get to enjoy vicariously. Thank you, Alexandra! 👍✨🦚💓
This is one of the only truly 'small space' makeover channels on UA-cam, love to see design for units under 500sq ft! Thanks Alexandra (from a tiny studio dweller)!
Thank you so much for watching Kira!
I have lived in a micro studio with a loft for three years and have never really settled in. I moved in the middle of a depressive episode and didn’t have the energy to figure out the best layout. But also, the apartment is an odd shape, with built-ins and weird nooks that limit my larger furniture to the layout I already have. Now that I have the emotional energy to move things around, there’s three years of life layered around the pieces I need to move. Did I mention that it’s a fifth floor walk-up? I love the location and I love having my own space, but it’s just a big ball of struggle. 😂
The first steps -- getting the motivation, sorting and cleaning things out -- are always the hardest! But I promise you will feel SO much better when your house feels like home. I finally made the time and investment to do it this past year (I KonMari'd my belongings so hard, got rid of all my old furniture, etc) and now everything in my apartment makes me happy.
Also don't be afraid and ask a friend to help! Handle the personals first, and then enlist your friend or friends to help with like.. the kitchen, or the tasks you have a hard time with, like bringing out the trash and donations from the 5th floor..! xD Trust me, been there.. Also another idea, I had a friend who was moving across the pond some years ago who had a "Value Village" party before leaving, where you could basically go shop for whatever she had in the donation pile and make a donation to help with the big move in exchange, according to your budget n whatnot. It could be adapted to a "remodel" scenario! She didn't do that, but I would've done a craft table with paints and tools to "DIY" the pieces you pick from the donation pile! :O I'm inspiring myself... lol Now I wanna host a DIY party! :3
Page D You sound like a good candidate for an apt. makeover! 🙂
@@HibiscusHigh Yes, Alexandra Gater, please do Page D's apartment next!! I think she deserves it
Hire an interior designer for an hour. It's well worth the money.
This moved me to tears as I saw that I really can keep some of my treasured items when I move to my tiny house! Thank you so much for taking us on your journey to enhance your friend's life. In so doing, you've enhance ours!
What a difference this makeover made to this space. It is so well thought out. I think the book shelves made the biggest impact, and the light cupboard's. You turned it into a great space for her. Beautiful job. 😊
'It's like the little french minimalist studio apartment of my dreams' I felt that
Nice! My one suggestion for the series would be to include a floor plan in your comments (hand sketched would be good enough for me!) which would make it much easier to follow what you are doing.
Yaaaaaaas
This is actually the second time I have viewed your series. I love what you have done. I feel like anyone can do a large space with a large budget, but making over a small space with a limited budget takes talent. I am actually viewing it a second time as I am in the middle of remaking a small camper. Same rules apply. Thanks!
Wow! Just love your videos! The way you organized and designed the space while highlighting your friend’s personality is brilliant. So much today is minimalist to the point of boring uniformity- you beautifully transcend this. ❤️❤️❤️
omg honestly i cried when the girl cried. its like an european artist apparemment ... so so pretty
I tear up every time I watch it, too!
Me too!!! 😭💙
So did I lol
Same here!
I think, you have a very romantic idea of Europe.
Alexandra the apartment looks so light and airy . No wonder Katie cried it’s gorgeous 😊
This is amazing, but those books over the bed make my California heart so nervous!
also, it's really bad feng shui. it's supposed to be terrible for you to sleep under books because then you feel 'overwhelmed by knowledge and information in your sleep'
which makes sense even in a non-fengshui context
I love your minimalist design of the space..it brings out the character of the room and it's light and airy.
I love this idea! My family of 4 needs ideas to increase storage while decreasing visual clutter. We don't live in a studio but we do have less than 800 sq ft of living space. The bookshelves look so cute and romantic on the top.
This is my FAVOURITE space I’ve seen you redo!! Im in love with those shelves, and the colour of those cabinets!! So excited for this series 🥰
Thanks Corrina! I'm so happy you're excited!
Oh yes, you're so right! I might have to steal the book shelf idea for my own appartement 🤗 it looks so chic!
@@AlexandraGater the link to the entryway table that Danie Berger made does not work
Thank you so much for all your awesome ideas. I am 80 years old and downsizing so I can move into a studio apartment, but currently love my book collection and knickknacks on several standing bookshelves. Your shelves up high are a fantastic solution to free up tons of floor space. I find I take out and refer to books once in awhile, but storing a folding stepstool in the closet would solve that issue. You have great ideas and vision.
This was a great makeover. I feel like I know Katie after watching this. I see why she was emotional. Alexandra NAILED IT!
We have a tiny apartment & my husband is confined to a wheelchair. Recently I injured myself. Herniated 2 discs on my neck, and broke a rib. After major physical therapy, Im better, but my adorable red leather, Ikea sofa was so uncomfortable. We donated the couch, and got a cute grey power recliner! I'm so comfortable watching TV, or reading & my husband has more room to roll around.
I love the Ikea brusali shoe cabinet, attaches to the wall, with an open spot at the top for mail and keys...so great
This made me cry both when she created the crystal/meditation/tarot corner and at the apartment owners reaction at the end. The designer did such an amazing job transforming this space!
Also her room was truly TRANSFORMED. GREAT JOB!!!!
This is the beginning of something magical. Those shelves- I never imagined this would be so easy and non technical of a diy to do. That desk chair is so sophisticated and sweet . I do not have enough good things to say about this space . This is so cool 😎.
Thanks Alice!!
I enjoyed this quite a bit 😊
Alexandra! You are they kind of person that I feel like “omg, I want to be her friend” love what you do! Keep doing it because you are the best!
Viki Psicologia YES, totally agree with you! Love her vibes. 😇
i love the light in the space, everything looks so peaceful
Great job. I like how you defined three definite spaces -- I didn't realize this was so important in a thing to do, but it made great sense and I feel actually made the place look much bigger. You certainly made the studio airy and welcoming. The mint cabinets are adorable -- so much better than dark brown.
I love the open shelving for the crystals! But having them next to the stovetop where (at least when I cook) the grease of the pans or just splatters of what I’m cooking are flying around makes me think the books will be ruined really soon :(
I thought the same thing. I'd put the open shelf stand against the wall at the end of the bed. I definitely wouldn't want to meditate next to the cooker!
Most definitely correct. My crystals are my babies, they would never be next to the stove. Good thing is she can always move it!
Good point! A big plant would have probably been better in that corner.
Same thought about grease and other splatters
Yeah, I wouldn't be putting anything containing essential oils near a stove top either.
That one wonky cabinet door is bringing out my OCD!
the uneven tension rod over at the closet area is bringing out mine. lol
Jordan Chiam same I thought I was tripping
Julia you and me both
The DIY Calendar also. When she hung it is was crooked. Waiting to see it get straightened.
@@invisigrl she never straightens the photos she hangs, it drives me insane!
I could, literally, watch this episodes again, and again, and again, and I always learn something different. Thank you Alexandra for being a sunshine in the darkness of our "no-design knowers" líves 💕💕
Alexander you are amazing. What I like about your work is that any one can do your make overs. You give wonderful ideas. X
This was really well done! I am curious as to where her bathroom stuff went from the entry! 😂 also that end table seems unstable... I love the pillows blocking the closed up fire place. So smart. I’d love to see an organization video for her also! Beautiful kitchen cabinets. Wish we could have seen more of the upper cabinet decor! I struggle with that myself.
The shutters between the desk and the shelf could've used a little love, but all in all, it's a lovely makeover!!
I love the shutters, but they need to be pristine white or properly shabby chic! The shelf is a clever design, but it's too high for the bed. And those curtains for the cupboard door cost $109! 😮. It's a good job most of the stuff in this makeover was free.
Now it looks like a home. Another beautiful makeover. BRAVA!!
I randomly watched several videos from this channel yesterday and today and I just noticed how her beautiful salmon color skirt is in every random video I watched. It is a very lovely skirt and the color truly compliments her well. 😌🤍
It would have been nice to look around the “after “ room more slowly so you could take in all the beautiful details. Only a couple of small criticisms, the kitchen cupboard that was hanging lower than the rest should have been adjusted or fixed, and where was the bathroom? It would have been interesting to see the whole apartment before and after 😊 But I absolutely love this kind of makeover. Very much looking forward to the next one 👍👍👍
I was curious to know if she shared a bathroom seeing as all her bathroom stuff was by the door before
@@katrinaa980 she doesn't share..you can see the bathroom behind Alex around min 16:44 :)
@@biancas.6283 ok that's good good for her, makes her apartment 800x's better 😂
me living in a studio apartment and owning a lot of books: oh the shelves are so cute! such a good idea!
me remembering I live in a major earthquake zone: wait
Exactly what I was thinking. Though I'm in WA
You can always install shelves with a rod in front so in case of an earthquake, it'll hold them better
Put up a "belly band" to hold them in place!
katrina a 😂🤣
I'm planning to do the above windows and doors bookshelves in the Pacific Northwest. I'll add a single wire or thin slat of wood barrier to keep the books in place. It's like living on a ship.
Wow! Another very helpful video! Wonderful ideas that make sense! I can't get enough of your videos!
Cute makeover of a tiny space. I am mid-50s and looking to downsize so I am gathering lots of great ideas to make this process and time easier.
you're really talented.. i would consider using less decoration and leaving open space.. also fixing construction such as the crooked cabinets and shutters
Matthew Voeltz yes, thats my opinion too. Its all about decoration not about practical storage or fixing broken things. After a few weeks it turns back to the „before“ because of not enough storage. I think the makeover often is to superficial.
and the floor around the desk area 😭
Agreed. Alex is more of an interior decorator, not an interior designer.
Yessssss those wonky broken shutters made me shudder lol
Omg i had to scroll in the comments cause as she panned across that shelf unit she made and i saw those dirty crooked shutters and i was just like Alex noooooooooooo😭😭😭😭😭
Fairy lights behind the “closet door” curtain would look amazing
TheSongBirdRainStar yassss great idea!
TheSongBirdRainStar I thought the same thing
Nice idea!
fairy lights for fairy crystals ;)
I know shelves make books organized but i still love the books stacked on the floor .. something rly cozy and aesthetic about it
This was amazing. Every time I watch your episodes, and you show the before, I always try to think what would I do in that space. And whenever you show the after I always think "wow, I would have never thought of this great idea!" . You are very good at what you do.
I love this makeover, but girl, that sidetable is going to flip over when you put something on it
And it's so high! Like I am not reaching that high up to grab my phone or water in the middle of the night...
Really another NOT smart idea
I'm sure there's some simple little piece of hardware to remedy that
Idiots should try it out before showing your stupidity...there is a reason why that plant is in the middle
And to make it worse there's a CACTUS on it. Hahahhaha.
Amazing that her apartment allows her to do things like screw in shelves, sand and paint cabinets, etc
I dare say it doesn’t, but you have to admire her attitude!
They usually write it off as apartment maintenance or improvement of property. That is if you get approval of the changes first.
I hope she got WRITTEN approval of these changes before she began.
I think landlords probably say yes if the tenants are working with a professional designer, especially if they can refer to a channel like this with lots of examples of previous work and the fact that she uses contractors, electricians, etc. to do certain jobs that should not be DIY-ed and that can improve the value of their property (almost a no brainer!)
Eh. If you don't care about getting your deposit back, no big deal
What a beautiful transformation! Amazing, stylish and functional!
This looks so contemporary and so calm! Love this!
Really feel like the windows needed much love.
Jade Blake I agree with you. I think if she had more than a weekend, the closet, the windows, and a paint job for the walls could be tackled.
@@katia.luna213 but they were in bad shape, with broken slats
@@miyounova Yes, I noticed this as well. Some nice window treatments would have been great - or at least have that handyguy fix up the shutters a bit and she can paint them...
Same! Like a nice little white curtain or something to hide how it looked
@@miyounova YES! I hope her friend was able to get the landlord up there to fix those shutters. And don't forget to bring the paint to clean them up. That bothered me through this whole video.
My issue with living in a studio is whenever you cook, since your clothes and bedding are in the same area, your stuff smells like whatever food you just cooked.
Need some type of closed storage for them.
Use a room deodorizer like “Fresh Wave” gel... it absorbs odors. Also ‘Activated Charcoal’ is a natural odor absorber.
agree, and everything gets a thin layer of kitchen grease at some point, so having lots of stuff out in the open requires a LOT of regular cleaning...
kim mcdonald that’s true . Also she did not tackle bathroom
My mom used to live in a studio, and she would boil cinnamon after cooking. Until you can come up with another solution, that may help.
Aww. Her reaction was so sweet. You’re a good friend! Loved the makeover, too!
PAINTING TIP: You don't need to use sandpaper! You can use rubbing alcohol to pre-treat prior to painting, and it accomplishes the same thing! Your paint will adhere nicely, and it's much less messy (and VERY inexpensive --- one bottle of rubbing alcohol & an old rag).
This is an incredible idea and makeover!! I love when makeovers end well like this one but I especially love when there is a barrier to overcome like not having a big budget or not a lot of room. Definitely keep on going with this series!!
My biggest issue living in a studio is when people wear shoes inside dude you are in my bedroom take your dirty shoes off
You got to considerate that not everyone’s gonna feel comfortable taking their shoes off in a foreign space specially if it’s in public. People have insecurities and or just not used to the eastern medieval tradition of removing your shoes off inside a home. I personally would prefer having them wear those “dirty” shoes than removing them and finding out about unpleasant odors or risk out fungal spread around my floors. Also if you very much dislike the idea of people walking around on your floors with dirty shoes, you might as well not have anyone stop quit complaining over your major OCD
Peter Griffith taking off your shoes is also a cultural thing so it’s not always an “ocd issue”...and it’s not exactly uncommon to take your shoes off in an indoor space
Much easier cleaning the floor with less dirt/gravel as well
But imo to each their own apartment rules
@@ChiMayMoo I guess it depends on where you live. In humid places I understand to take off wet shoes but in hot dusty places I think that feet sweat+dust is a worse combination 😂
In Canada, most of us take our stores off in the house. It's respectful and clean.
@@mahaliabudzinski8107 Exactly. Shocks me every time I'm at someone's house and they tell me not to take my shoes off when I start to. All I can do is think about the dog poop I stepped on a few days earlier, the mud being ground into the carpet or the gum I cleaned off them the night before. Outdoor shoes do not belong inside as far as I'm concerned.
It never fails to amaze me…your talent in decorating is AMAZING!!!!
Wow Alexandra! You are amazing! It looks like a completely different place!!! You are so talented and have the perfect eyes and visions for anywhere!
While the shelves were very clever, the console was not. It is a beautiful piece, but not functional at all for someone who needs storage storage storage. I picture a pile of shoes underneath the console in less than a week. What did you do with all her toiletries?
Also, you could have used the guy to get the kitchen cabinets’ doors straight and the window “covers” fixed.
Same thought here.
I agree. The console table offers no storage.
yeah, idk how much installation the building allows, but if they could have gotten those bathroom storage mirrors to go over the console table, and if the table itself had open shelving (I think two could have sufficed) underneath it, with maybe a small drawer too
For my small space to create my entry way I used the besta cabinet. The 7 7/8in depth bc it's a small wall and right where the door opens. Plus added storage. I think that would've been a better solution or adding more shelves to that console table they created.
The shoes were piled in that area because all of her books were in her closet. Now that the books are out of the closet, she has space for her shoes lol. So seems reasonable that her shoes will not be piled underneath the console table any longer.
Edited for spelling error
I feel like it would look awesome to put those led strips inside the closet so that at night they could shine softly through that sheer curtain and it would make the space feel bigger when there isn’t daylight through the windows and also it would be cost and functional
That's a very cool idea and might pinch it for a different spot in my house! 😎
I am a divorced woman/mom of the adult society with grandchildren, and I've downsized from a two story house into a 400 sq. ft. Apartment, and alot of my furniture is from my house and large. Storage has been the most difficult for me. The kitchen cabinets are horrid and the bathroom is made for a midget. Lol. Just my take on it, no offense to small people. I am trying to pull it together but it has been crazy. Thanks for your video. If you ever need a studio for your video's, I'm all in. Lol.
Please be kinder about your "midget" comments. I have two brothers who are " little people" and they deal with enough on a daily basis as their size gives others comic relief! Stop it!
Jossetta - you should downsize again. (I know I need to🤭)Most of us have too much "stuff" so we need more storage space for junk. I was storing things I hadn't looked at in years
Whoa, looks like a new place, I didnt even notice there were two windows in the beginning.
I think u should have added more storage at the entrance instead of that console with no storage;0 she needs allll daaa storage she can get.
Something with drawers would have been better.
My thoughts exactly, but lovely makeover :-)
Agreed. Missed opportunity for some closed storage and if it were the same color as the wall, it wouldn't take up any visual space.
Yes....sometimes I question Alexandra's design and furniture choices....like that desk, while stunning, is close to $600!! She could've gone to a thriftstore or vintage shop or even Ikea and paid just a fraction of that price.
I think it’s perfect! Beautiful and functional! Alex rearranged her belongings so that everything has a home already, I don’t think we always need more places to put more stuff. Less is definitely more sometimes. ❤️
anyone else worried about that cactus thingie on the nightstand where the alarm clock is supposed to go...?
It may be faux, and not stabby.
It's too high, but it looks stable enough, so not worried about the cactus. 🌵⏰
Not really. I'd only hit it once 😴
I’m more worried about all those heavy books right above her head. LOL
Yes me ! If u shift the cactus to side the Stand would topple 😳. Sooo not functional or stable but looks really cute
So pretty and high shelves, great storage in a small space. I loved the island idea. Thinking a small, tallish table would fit stools underneath and double as kitchen work space/serving and dining. The pendant light is cool. Really nice and love the plants about too. Best was her reaction. ❤ Your heart must have felt like bursting.
Fabulous results! Impressive!
Hooray for Katie!
My favorite makeover out of millions and millions of them! I've been watching makeovers literally everyday for the last 3 or 4 years of my life and this one was the most beautiful and touching one! Alex you have a wonderful taste and I love all of your ideas and designs! You go girl 💖
Oh wow that is SO kind. Thank you!!!
Your talent knows NO BOUNDS
This made my day 🤗
You are so talented, and I love your gorgeous solutions to both decorative, and storage problems. Well done.
That turned out so beautiful! Everything That I have seen you do in your videos has been really great!
This channel literally is so good
K C what is it with people and their overuse of the word “millennials” bc I’m actually not one 🤷🏻♀️
This is so lovely, and her reaction at the end is priceless!
This is my favorite makeover video you’ve done. I love to rewatch it.
Dearest Alexandra, I have just discovered you this summer!!! I so adore your delightful fun attitude as well as the great inspiring tips on redoing small rented apartments. I may be moving into a smaller affordable seniors apartment next year. So I am practicing decluttering and applying some of your redecorating suggestions now. I have lived in this unit for 11 years; it,s fun to take on a new project. Thank you so much for being here for us. :)
Oh my HEART, this is so sweet; both of your reactions were so genuine and warm. I think the love and energy you put into creating this thoughtful and beautiful space for your dear friend really shines through. I cannot wait to see what else you do, Alexandra!
I listen to audiobooks daily, I stock shelves and clean houses for a living so I listen to most of my books now instead of actually reading. Beautiful job Alexandra.
I had seen this earlier when I first discovered The Gater and am seeing greater depth this time( like hearing one of my audibles a second time). Thank you. Now that we are in the third month of lockdown and in a smallish apartment,I find I will be using many ideas from this series. Stay well.
Beautiful. So nicely decorated. ♥️
Love it! 😍 Just a side note: I have a tiny studio. I bought two ikea dressers and made them into a desk by using a melamine board as the tabletop. Home Depot actually had these strips that can be ironed onto the raw edges to create a finished edge. Definitely love the smooth edge it made so it really looked custom. Anyways, love this makeover so much! Beautiful details!
After an injury, I lost everything, and was essentially homeless. My daughter and son in law let me move into their garage storage room. So I went from an 1800 sq ft house, to a 9 x 14 unfinished room. I have rid myself of everything I'm willing to, and being on disability, can't afford much. I jokingly call this place The Hut. I know I need a new, smaller bed. My shelving is ancient particle board and falling apart, so wall shelving is definitely the way to go. That was the idea I took away from this project that I can do right now. Also, the witchy corner, I need a place for my stuff, too, but it may be one of the new shelves. Thanks for the ideas!
Cyn McCollum how are you doing now, Cyn? Hope all is well
I hope you managed to make a nice little place for yourself.
Watching you two at the end was ADORABLE. It made me tear up as well. It was refreshing to watch. Thanks
Aloha! Watching Katy's tearful reaction at the end of the video was heartwarming. I have a small "studio" mother-in-law and have found it challenging but, as a long-time decorating connesieur, oh so fun to decorate. When I look at the Before pictures, I am reminded of how so many people don't have a clue how to create a lovely and peaceful place to call home. I guess that's why watching Katy's reaction brought tears to MY eyes. Thanks so much for this and the gift you gave your friend. :)
Everything turned out lovely, honey! I would, though, have made the island to double as an eating area for two...😊😉
I love how you incorporated her personality! 💗
I've been bingeing on all these episodes and hadn't seen this one yet and it's just precious and made me want to cry too .How sweet to be able to make your friend so happy , adorable ♥️
This is the perfect blend of artistic and clean. I love love love it!
That was stunning and definitely extreme. What a mess before, and now so chic.
I love how you've beautifully organised it to be warm and inviting, and so functional.
I would have liked to see what happened to all the stuff in the bathroom cabinet she had in her walkway too.
A couple of small folding chairs that she can bring out and she can invite 3 or 4 friends over. It's lovely
Absolutely beyond amazing! It’s a home… and looks so clean and so much bigger! Cute & cozy love ❤️
Wow, her friend's reaction was so sincere and heartfelt! Love what you're doing for spaces and people c: Subscribed!
Love it. I just miss a comfy chair to relax and read in...
The blue painted kitchen cabinets with the black handles/pulls looks fantastic.
I'm still working my way through each and every video on your channel, but so far I think this is my favorite one. I really love how you tailored it to Katie's personality, her special likes, needs and interests, and made it a beautiful, personal space for her. You really found a great way to reflect her through this design. That's my dream for my own place - to have it feel completely "me" and so like home that I love every inch of it. :) Thanks for being so inspiring!!
This is one of my absolute favourite room makeovers ever! And I’ve watched a lot... 🙃
A book shelf like that needs tons of book ends to secure the books
Annlaug Maria Tolo guess no earthquake in Toronto
I thought the same thing! One book pulled out without care and they will go crashing off the side. Vases and bottles aren’t heavy enough. She’ll forever be trying to put books back up.
How do you get to you r books?
She's 20-something. She'll get a step-stool and climb. It's really not a problem.
Book on ceiling, how is she going TO reach. Them?????
I rewatched this video, and I think this is your best makeover ever. I love everything, and your friend is so sweet, I wanted to hug her.
Oh my gosh I LOVED this so much!! I loved the shelves with the books. I live in a tiny loft apt and these ideas were so helpful. I can’t wait to see the rest of your studio makeovers!!!
