    ABOUT KIRK HAMMETT
Kirk Hammett, guitarist of the band Metallica, is extremely recognizable to people around the world. As a band, they've won eight Grammy awards, and five of their albums debuted at #1 on Billboard's charts. Metallica has sold over 110 million records, and they are among the most commercially successful bands of all time. Also an avid collector of horror and sci-fi movie posters, his popularity spans genres. "Every room that I had the posters in, I would always make sure I had a guitar and amp in that room for if they inspired me to play", he said about his horror movie posters in Rolling Stone in August 2017.

In an August 2019 interview with , Crane said that he was once offered to be the vocalist for Judas Priest while the band was in search for a new vocalist after Rob Halford's departure in 1992. He said that guitarist Glenn Tipton offered him and drummer Shannon Larkin the gig if they wanted it during the recording sessions of Tipton's solo album . Crane explained that he couldn't accept the offer, "because you can't be Rob Halford. You can't be David Lee Roth. It'd be cool, and considering my love for Priest, which is immense, that would have been cool to do it, but not really. It's not a good move.

i remember that time. whit was on voodoo brother on tipton's album. i saw Priest with Tim Ripper Owens at wolverhampton.
"because you can't be Rob Halford".... true. But Tim gave it a damn good go. that show mas as metal as anything Pantera did at the time.
same for Bruce. i saw Maiden in wolverhampton with HIS replacement. it was horrible tho.
