Finally, an accurate remake of one of the most magnificent final bosses in the history of gaming. Absolutely left an impact on me as a child. I will never ever forget it.
I noticed at the end that Kefka actually uses the FFVI's version of Ultima. I'm amazed that doesn't just bring the whole party down to low HP. Also when Savage mode comes out, I really hope that instead of fighting Kefka here that we actually have to fight the tower while working our way upwards and then defeat Kefka in his form that you fought him in the final battle of VI. Since we now have Exdeath and Kefka, I wonder if we'll be seeing another villain or if Omega himself is finally ready for us.
Reddaxe 4.x is supposed to have a longer lifetime than ARR and HW, so we may end up seeing four different sets of Omega raids, 16 encounters total. Either that or we could see a set with five raids, the fourth being the final boss to its inspired FF game and the fifth being Omega himself. (I hope that made sense.)
Glad to see him back in the games, he has cool music too. I remember fighting him on Final Fantasy 3 (You will call it FInal fantasy 6 due to the version I was playing at the time).
Edit: I realized that the little 'clicking' in the 'Dancing Mad I' portion of the fight is actually supposed to be there and it resembles keyboard tapping to my ear! 😅 Not to dispel the mood and the wonderful recording, but was I hearing key-tapping from a keyboard in the background?
I was not expectig they'd include kefka along with the towers of the gods in one epic instance. Although I did imagine it like that. Perfect execution. Savage kefka will be as he's ultimate: a dancing mad :'V
Some of these boss themes are really cool in the beginning but then just end up sucking in the latter half. I am glad they did my boy Kefka justice. This one is badass all the way through.
I was just wondering what kind of hardware are you running to play XIV? (Specifically video card) but other details are cool too. I've looked around some but did not see any information like that. Any assistance is greatly appreciated! I absolutely love your videos and being able to see the context of where the music is played AND to be able just to sit here and be able to enjoy the music, thank you so much!
+M. Woller If you're astonished why people do the same thing over and over again, then I have to ask: Do you not have any hobbies whatsoever? Because that argument can be applied to any passtime imaginable.
+M. Woller All hobbies have some level of repetition, and pursuing any number of them results in repetitive behaviour if they're to an individual's liking. I find it strange that you even make a point against this fact, just because you personally don't find any enjoyment in the more hardcore side of the game. You're just as guilty of the things you criticise when you play FF14 to your own liking, you're just making an arbitrary distinction to make a flimsy point.
+M. Woller Yet you're not understanding how what you said can apply to anything you do in the game, let alone the wider world. So I have to draw one of two conclusions: that you're making an arbitrary distinction based on personal preference, or you don't think that playing this game is a hobby.
The way they made the organs so deep and filthy really elevates it. Percussion for parts one and two could be better, but its otherwise a the perfect version of his theme.
You know looking back on Heavensward, I'm actually starting to wish they saved the Warring Triads as the bosses you had to fight before Kefka here. It would have been incredibly fitting to go through the three of them to battle Kefka just like in FFVI. Oh well. Least they gave us Phantom Train.
Altan Rapsied I'm aware of that. Some people were even speculating back then if we could potentially see Kefka back when Azys Lla was introduced especially taking the Warring Triad being there into account. Just kinda awkward introducing Kefka now with the Warring Triad long gone. Not that I mind at all. We got Kefka so I'm happy anyway.
Amenomibashira Certainly. I wouldn't expect Yoshida to do that. It's great to see that they're doing a homage to the previous games with stuff like this. I'm content that we're just getting content like this at all. Hope I didn't come off as being nitpicky.
I don't know, I played the original and I still really enjoyed FFIII and IV's remakes on the DS. I would absolutely love it if FFVI got the same treatment.
That's not true, though. Omega is an interdimensional entity, the implication is that he's taking these people and monsters from their home worlds and putting them in the arena for battle. I mean, that's what he did with you. The bosses you fight are the other "groups" just like how the Garlond expedition team is the Alpha group.
starclanman no. He isn't taking them from anywhere. He is creating them. It doesn't matter if they are real or just stories. If he considers what he knows of them to be powerful he creates them to fight you. Key word here is create.
The original warring triad. The three gods of all existence. When they are in the correct order, the world is fine. Kefka moves them out of order to destroy the world.
You fight them before you fight Kefka in three fights before the final fight with God-Kefka. The first fight is against Long Arm, Short Arm, and Visage, the second fight against Power, Tiger, Magic, and Machine, and the third against Lady and Rest. They were actual enemies in VI, but here Kefka just uses them as a mechanic, probably because it'd be too much to design four fights for one encounter.
It always amuses me that people complaun vecayse savage gets things we dont. If savage was the same fight, no one would play it. Thats wht they made Neo exclusive, and why they omitted God Kefka from normal. They want to give people something to look foreward to. Not just highly levelled gear.
Michael Rivers. Wheres the proof that kefka and God Kefka arent two diffetent fights? I havent seen a savage clearbe posted yet so im not sure where youre getting that..
Ashe bogue the fight in savage is 120 mins long, like exdeaths while normal is the same time as everyone elses. its a very easy guess to make, plus god kefka's model was datamined.
I guess the problem with using nostalgia bosses is that we all know what to expect. We know that he has a final form so we're disappointed when we don't see it. But in the case of a fight like Brute Justice we didn't know what to expect and in the end it was a satisfying conclusion, the winged form in Savage just made it better. I think Brute Justice and Exdeath just set a precedent for giving the harder versions something special. I mean, I was a little disappointed myself not hearing the full track but, shit happens.
DerDude No please. Save that wishful thinking for when we inevitably go to the moon. We need all the IV stuff on the moon. Hopefully in 5.x! (Cuz the one CS with the Warrior of Darkness on the moon if you remember).
For practicality purposes, if they do add Sephiroth into the third tier, it'd have to be Bizarro Sephiroth rather than Safer Sephiroth, unless the phases involve the 4 stages of Jenova somehow.
I believe people are complaining because it doesn't really feel like you're fighting Kefka at all. The Savage stuff should get extra content, yeah, but it should be ADDITIONAL content. Not getting to fight the 'real' Kefka is basically just not getting the ending, or getting a big 'TO BE CONTINUED' sign. They really should make the extra Savage boss be like, an optional boss or a fan-favourite, like Atma Weapon or Ultros or something. I think it's lame to put 'the actual fight' behind an intense difficulty (and time investment) gate that a lot of people can't get through.
The same is true of FFVI. You don't get to fight God Kefka an hour into the game, you have to play through the whole thing to face him. They've also scaled back the difficulty of Savage even since Creator dropped. If folks want to fight the final boss in any game, they should be prepared to get to it.
I just enjoy the GrayBois crying over it, Savage is the best part of FFXIV in my opinion, look at it this way, for normal they have to restrain the complexity of the battle so even someone with the reflexes and critical thinking of an epileptic impala can survive it, or at least get carried through it after they finish ERPing with the tank, savage, however, is pretty much where it all comes out to shine, difficulty, attention to detail and beauty in rotations comes in, each fight is practically a dance, meticulously designed so you suffer and enjoy it, as long as you don't play with grays. TL;DR: Savage gets more because it unchains everything and makes for a more intense experience, it'd be a shame if you put amazing music over a lame fight with no challenge.
+TaoScribble Yeah, but you can just use the roulette. Most of the time it goes very well. But yeah, you're kind of forced to play with people at times.
moosecat00 I know right. The fight is way too bland for the development team. Even if it's nm it's REALLY boring to do weekly. Compared to the old second tiers T9 and A8, this one is really boring. No aoe placements, no tank swaps or really any need for a second tank, and the music just isn't intense or fun enough. Hell, the whole sigmascape just isn't up to par mechanic wise. Sure o6 is cool, but the other three of this tier are a disappointment with o7 having mechanics from so many other fights in xiv, like the gubal mechs, xande, and typhon, and o5 just being a tank and spank. They aren't really visually stunning either.
That's because it's normal mode. Normal mode is made for people to get to see the story, not have an intense or fun fight. If you want that, Savage Kefka is super fun.
I love when he helps you with mechanics like
"Are you looking? Why are you looking? YOU SHOULDN'T BE LOOKING?!"
Oh-ho, discovered my tells, have you? Or HAVE you?
Finally, an accurate remake of one of the most magnificent final bosses in the history of gaming. Absolutely left an impact on me as a child. I will never ever forget it.
Ahem! There's SAND on my boots!
Vwee Hee Hee!
son of submarine!!
Idiots!
Son of a SandWorm!
Did not expect to see you here. You on siren boi?
I read self-help booklets to this music.
4:21 to 4:40 is my favorite part. I love how the organ goes from this light sounding to dark and scary.
I really hope they make this into an orchestration roll.
KoalatyGG Same. I need to have this playing in my room.
KoalatyGG My guess is that we will get them after o12 like we did with the Alexander rolls
Would never... Ever change it off my playlist. It stays, and a godly assortment of FFT as well.
Reminder 8 months later that they're now Orchestrion Rolls... GO FARM IT! XD
IT IS!
Whether it's a fan remake or the official one, the first part of this always gives me goosebumps >.
Benjamin Keith I'm currently looking for an extended version of it.
Those freeze stops are scary @w@
The childhood memories are strong with this one...
I always like Dancing Mad phase 2 music.
The Toccata and Fugue part is STILL insanely good
Kefka's animations seemed to be taken from Dissidia NT.
Edit: His entire 3D model too.
Randy Lin That"s probably the smartest move to make. Saves loads of work and time.
Malcolm Fitzpatrick Not complaining at all. I love those animations.
Also , did he have animation in the original game ? Dissidia might be the closest in terms of reference lol
Lol, almost sure boss sprites are just still images back then. Good times.
All those animation were taken from unused animations buried deep in the original SNES cart.
The final phase of dancing mad will more then likely play in savage
Most artistic boss in FF history
I noticed at the end that Kefka actually uses the FFVI's version of Ultima. I'm amazed that doesn't just bring the whole party down to low HP. Also when Savage mode comes out, I really hope that instead of fighting Kefka here that we actually have to fight the tower while working our way upwards and then defeat Kefka in his form that you fought him in the final battle of VI. Since we now have Exdeath and Kefka, I wonder if we'll be seeing another villain or if Omega himself is finally ready for us.
5...then 6...so if we go in order....I hope you like 6' katanas
Soress9 I think I'll probably share Aerith's opinion on them.
Wouldn't next one be Omega though, since it's the end? Unless we never get to fight Omega.
Savage mode is already out though, and already cleared, and it is the final form Kefka
My Childhood Reborn in a Even more Epic & Chaotic Beauty!!
I'm just noticing that the final phase theme is based on Bach's "Toccata and Fugue in D minor"
They could make a GREAT ultimate here by putting sophia zurvan and sephirot in the fight like they did the three main primals in ultimas ultimate.
Not to dispel the mood and the wonderful recording, but was I hearing key-tapping from a keyboard in the background?
Godddd i love that the esper monstrosity was included in the bg of this fight
You mean the corrupted power of triple triad / statues of balance
Son of a submariner, this was good.
now we just need a vid with phase 1 in its own video.
They really did great job with it. If SE makes one thing right, it's soundtrack.
The phase 1 and 2 music is so damn good. As well as phase 3. Absolutely need those for my Orchestrion.
and now give us seymour from FFX with his 4 forms and the amazing hopeless desire theme mix!
im having musical blue balls
The Savage-only theme is now out! Go mad.
You know, for all the Divine Comedy references Kefka's final battle represents, I would have expect him to speak in terza rima.
Phase 3: toccata & fugue in D minor to toccata in C by Bach. Beautiful arrangement of the 2
I was not expectig they'd include kefka along with the towers of the gods in one epic instance. Although I did imagine it like that. Perfect execution. Savage kefka will be as he's ultimate: a dancing mad :'V
Phase 2 is handsdown a piece of art.
Some of these boss themes are really cool in the beginning but then just end up sucking in the latter half. I am glad they did my boy Kefka justice. This one is badass all the way through.
You must do savage Mekka, you gitta have the complete dancing mad
OKAY I NEED TO COME BACK TO THIS GAME
How did I not know this remix existed?!
I love how baroque this theme is.
Oh man, now I have to start a FFXIV account thanks alot
I was just wondering what kind of hardware are you running to play XIV? (Specifically video card) but other details are cool too. I've looked around some but did not see any information like that. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
I
absolutely love your videos and being able to see the context of where the music is played AND to be able just to sit here and be able to enjoy the music, thank you so much!
Never ceases to amaze me how fast top tier raiders clear these post patch
This is only normal, that isn't hard to clear through. Look me about an hour and a half to finish sigmascape normal after logging in xD
Bahamut trained ppl well
+M. Woller If you're astonished why people do the same thing over and over again, then I have to ask: Do you not have any hobbies whatsoever? Because that argument can be applied to any passtime imaginable.

I enjoy Mekkah Dee's compilations, but I wonder why they didn't do a part 2 to this video for the final phase of the Kefka fight...
It channels some of Danny Elfman's work on Batman Returns.
Just stop god... do you ever have an end?
I believe floating continent will play a role in later story when we hit Garlemald...
Well technically speaking you did have too fight them first.

So I guess we are getting an FF7 themed raid with Sephiroth as final boss and special one winged angel edition for savage in 4.4?
FF3/6's Kefka villain is in this game? Didn't know that. And his music too.
Holy shit it happened, it finally happened!
The organ section sounds like Toccata and Fugue in D Minor.
The God Kefka song was the one I was hoping to hear. The only uploads I can find on UA-cam are gameplay with sound effects and mics over the music.
Please Square-Enix, remake FFVI, you guys already have the base material to work on XIV
Felipe Coelho No. Don't draw a mustache on the Mona Lisa
Can I draw a mustache on Chadarnook instead? Oh wait, Relm already has the Fake Mustache Relic.
No. No remake.
Remaster
I don't know, I played the original and I still really enjoyed FFIII and IV's remakes on the DS. I would absolutely love it if FFVI got the same treatment.
whys he so big though
He's a humanoid boss from a sprite-based Final Fantasy. Of COURSE he's arbitrarily huge in battle.
Riji Hozefu With all the visual effects, it would be hard to see the boss and his actions if he were human size
And since he's only a creation of Omega in this game, it makes sense he's bigger than a normal human. He's a god after all :p
What is the lore behind those towering statues?
Apparently that's his so-called "monument to non-existence" (the Statue of the Gods).
The original warring triad. The three gods of all existence. When they are in the correct order, the world is fine.
Kefka moves them out of order to destroy the world.
Chris 242 You mean the same three gods on the floating continent in FFVI? Or is it the different one?
They are not the Warring Triad. These statues here were the first 3 parts of Kefka's boss battle in FF6.
Geez the patch only went up a few hours ago...
How do I unlock the fight?
Where are the rest of the phases?
Will you upload the 4th phase music soon?
that's savage material
Why aren't there videos of the 4th phase music up yet? Plenty of people have streamed the Savage mode of this boss fight already.
And might I add, some videos regarding the matter had all phases in it, but were taken down.
hmmm who is harder. Ultimate bahamut or Kefka.
I heard Kefka was hard. In Final Fantasy VI, he's a push-over
Most FF bosses were in general.
did he die
my dream came tru! :D
A bit underwhelming that it ends there on normal.
As always, best part for Savage.
It always amuses me that people complaun vecayse savage gets things we dont. If savage was the same fight, no one would play it. Thats wht they made Neo exclusive, and why they omitted God Kefka from normal. They want to give people something to look foreward to. Not just highly levelled gear.
Bet Savage has the Dissidia NT remix.
Michael Rivers. Wheres the proof that kefka and God Kefka arent two diffetent fights? I havent seen a savage clearbe posted yet so im not sure where youre getting that..

Drake Silvos It seems the only people who get disappointed are those who don't really do savage content.
Wait what!? and when was this in ffxiv?
Omega: Sigmascape V4.0
The 2nd part of Stormblood's raid series.
Much better than Exdeath's remix.
Wait he says? Do i look like a waiter?!?
So everyone is talking about wanting to see the next raid be bosses from FF7 or FF10. What about Ultimecia?! :O wouldnt she make an epic one too.
ThepotatoBread Kuja and or Ultimecia would be great bosses
i want to see ultimecia's griever form for savage :P
and Golbez? or Zeromus
Kefka 😍😘
and o12 Zeromus pls x)
DerDude No please. Save that wishful thinking for when we inevitably go to the moon. We need all the IV stuff on the moon. Hopefully in 5.x! (Cuz the one CS with the Warrior of Darkness on the moon if you remember).
Well, it was 6.x in the end :D
well in the order they have been adding bosses.. 3rd part Sephiroth?
For practicality purposes, if they do add Sephiroth into the third tier, it'd have to be Bizarro Sephiroth rather than Safer Sephiroth, unless the phases involve the 4 stages of Jenova somehow.
Hello there
If they are adding kefka from FF6 I'm guessing what's going to be next...Sephiroth would be a godly fight.
Damm I so want to do this but my subscription ran out Are you always a tank Mekkah Dee
Raven faster que time
I believe people are complaining because it doesn't really feel like you're fighting Kefka at all. The Savage stuff should get extra content, yeah, but it should be ADDITIONAL content. TheRikuideFurame they have?
Do i look like a waiter
meanwhile i still need to really play this game. o.o darn social anxiety
Don't worry, you can play without being forced to socialized.I basically did this game without any friends xD
Keep in mind one would still need to run dungeons with people at points for the main story quests, which are needed to unlock nearly everything.
+TaoScribble Yeah, but you can just use the roulette. Most of the time it goes very well.
But yeah, you're kind of forced to play with people at times.
The fact the shitty mobile FF advertised on this is ironic
Little dissapointed that he's so big. Isn't Kefka just human-sized pre-angel form?
I think they had to make him big from a practical perspective. A small target would make positioning a pain in the ass.
i hate that clown to much xDD
dxdxdxddxdxdxddx
Same
I even hate the way he runs
Woo hoo hoo hoo
Thumbnail looked like pennywise
Cx
Que asco de vida
Pleaseee let it be a sephiroth raid that battle would be fking epicccc and the music omg gimmeee
Not as good as I had hoped.
moosecat00 I know right.
I should clarify that I was disappointed by the presentation of the fight. Should've fought the tower.
Not a fan of the arrangement. The battle is awesome though.
Yeah, it feels like it has less oomph in it.
Lazy execution, you can barely see kefka tower in sight. not memorable.
Is it just me... Or am I the only one concerned with the main tanks placement of Kefka... ;-;
