Provincial migration is a huge thing for the western Cape province (state) where a lot of people who migrate go to informal settlements because the state can’t keep up with housing unfortunately. This speaks to South Africa as a whole which cannot keep up with the demand of her people. 40% of south Africans are unemployed and looking for jobs, this does not include minimum wage earners who can barely afford the minimum to survive. Change is coming to the South African landscape now because otherwise people will barely survive, let alone thrive. Our politicians need to put their people first for once instead of their egos.
Khayelitsah did not spring out after 1994, townships were deliberately built and under resourced by the previous regime. Gauteng expereinces the highest number of semi emigration in the country and you never hear the people of that province complaining about them.
Great video and I actually grew up in Khayelitsha and know that rapper on a personal level he used to be in a group with a friend of mine that I used be in a group with back in the day
Khayelitsha is hectic. The township has a beautiful name. It means “ A new home” but the environment and the situation over there is completely the opposite. One of the most impoverished areas in South Africa. The people are warm and nice though it’s not safe there.
Daluxolo is actually a perfect name for that guy😂 his nickname is immediately Darly😂😂😂 such a cool guy. One thing about us we loooove it when a person wants to learn our language. We are always there ones learning other people's languages it feels good to see especially white people try learn our language. ❤🇿🇦
All I will say is that this video is heartwarming and people are people no matter where they live. Poverty drives up crime and South Africa is now entering a new era after the May elections. I feel hopeful for a better future for all in SA if the national unity party can succeed. I will also just say that even though this video is heartwarming..please do not enter areas with clear warnings about crime without someone from that area taking you through it. Certain places the police do not even enter. Be safe. We have many positives to our country but never let your guard down. I saw a video from another tourist who was naive enough to walk by herself through these areas..if people didn't help her it would not have ended well for her unfortunately. People are desperate and they will do the unthinkable for a few ZAR. I pray that your trip will go smoothly and that you will only experience the good that our beautiful country has to offer ❤️ 🙏
I lmstay in khayelitsha.... khayelitsha is not a place to live with children day or nighteven in public places, anything can happen there's no safe place even in schools
