    I wanted to pop by and thank you. This was the first soap tutorial I ever watched and it set me on the path to having my own soap business. I am now making botanical soaps with herbs from my garden and last year I netted almost $10k. It's a lot of work going to county fairs and whatnot but it's fun nonetheless. So THANK YOU.

      Oh my gosh, you have made my week! Thank you so much for sharing your story. It's incredibly inspiring to hear how my tutorial helped you start your own soap business and achieve such amazing success. I love that you're using herbs from your garden - your botanical soaps sound beautiful! Keep up the amazing work, and best of luck with your business. I can't wait to see what you create next! ✨ If you have a social media channel where you share your soaps, do let me know and I will happily feature you to give you some extra exposure.

    I've been binge watching your videos this morning - they are GREAT.
    I'm an american girl, and I LOVE your accent! I prefer the ones where you're talking - vs the one I just watched (it's a lavender soap video) where you just let the music play, and had text boxes explain your process. I'm a new soap maker, so it's a little harder for me to learn if I have to read AND concentrate on what you're doing in the video, but your content is still, FANTASTIC.
    I've subscribed to your channel - yay!
    I'm leaving a comment here to boost your channel, and I've tried to remember to like everything I'm watching with a thumbs up response. (It's early morning right now, and I'm still trying to get my coffee to kick in... lol... so no promises about the thumbs up.
    Sending you LOTS of love.

    Might be a good idea to use goats milk instead of water seeing as though we're going for a very moisturizing bar. Usually it would soften a bar but that's not a problem here with such a hard bar. Also the milk sugars may help it bubble a little better. I would greatly reduce the water content of the goats milk first to get more of it in the bar.

    • @SoapSchoolUK
      @SoapSchoolUK  Рік тому +1

      Hi Gavin, Great points and I agree the milk does create sugars which seem to increase the lather as well as a better skin feel in my opinion.

    Absolutely love lard soap, it's like holding *fine bone china* in your hand! I personally find, your own rendered lard does have a scent when first made, but that soon dissipates within a couple of days of being made, whereas shop/supermarket is more neutral like you said. As always, a fabulous video! Thank you, Sarah

      When I render my tallow or lard, I will continue to run it through the process 4 to 6 times until the water is completely clear. That does eliminate the majority of the smell from the animal but yes, lard soap seems to be the best. I absolutely love it. I really appreciate the recipe on this site here in the US it’s difficult to find a lye Calculator that tells you how to calculate for lard. They all tell you how to calculate for tallow, and there must be a difference even if it’s minimal.

      In my experience, and others, when coconut oil is added,is creating less suds.Not sure why.Maybe depends on the lard used.

    • @MommaDrake02

      Use it only for soap. Even cleaned it's bad practice to use soapmaking tools interchangeably between soap and food. It can be dangerous.

    • @SoapSchoolUK
      @SoapSchoolUK  2 роки тому

      It can be used if you are making just for yourself but it is good practise to kee it just for soap making especially if you start using essential oils and fragrances as Kat mentioned

    Hello soap school, I have aa small doubt, is it okay to use fruit puree or vegetable puree in aa soap making process, because I heard that using puree in aa soap it may chance to form fungal in a soap with in month, so what about that, can you explain me? And I'm from India🇮🇳

    • @SoapSchoolUK
      @SoapSchoolUK  2 роки тому +1

      I have never had them go mouldy and I have been making them for over 20 years. CSS our safety assessor sells a whole bundle of safety assessments CPSR's for fruit and veggie soaps so these types of soaps are safe and do comply with the requirements to sell int he UK & EU. It is however important to make sure that your fruit etc is pureed really well. If you leave chunks of raw food in anything it will go bad.

    Lard and tallow are not the same thing at all. So if one is using tallow for this recipe instead of lard, would they use less tallow? Tallow is MUCH harder than lard.
    Also, can vegetable glycerine be used to make it lather?

    67 grams of lye is slightly under 5% superfat,which is not ideal for the skin.Most people use 5% to 8% superfat percentage for lard soap.
    Also, the water is on the lower side too based on the many lard soap calculators out there.
    Great explanation otherwise. Thank you.

    THE WORD OF GOD SAYS THAT WE ARE ALL SINNERS AND NEED TO BE SAVED!
    Romans 3:10 KJV As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
    Romans 3:23 KJV For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
    OUR SINS CAN SEND US TO HELL FOR ETERNITY, EVEN JUST ONE SIN
    Romans 6:23 KJV For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
    Revelation 20-11-15 KJV And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
    Revelation 21:8 KJV But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
    ARE YOU SORRY THAT YOU HAVE SINNED BEFORE A HOLY RIGHTOUS GOD JESUS CHRIST?.
    THAT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST WHO IS THE SON OF GOD, GOD IN THE FLESH, HAD TO SUFFER A BRUTAL DEATH ON THE CROSS FOR YOUR PERSONAL SINS?
    2 Corinthians 7:10 KJV For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
    THIS IS WHAT THE APOSTOL PAUL SAID ABOUT HIMSELF!
    Romans 7:24 KJV O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
    THE LORD JESUS CHRIST WHO IS GOD (THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD), DIED ON THE CROSS WAS BURIED SHED HIS BLOOD AND WAS RAISED TO LIFE AGAIN ON THE THIRD DAY.
    1 Timothy 3:16 KJV And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
    1 Corinthains 15:1-4 KJV Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
    2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
    3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
    4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
    Colossians 1:14 KJV In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
    IF YOU ARE REALLY SORRY THAT YOU HAVE SINNED AND REALLY MEAN THIS TO. THEN CONFESS YOUR SINS TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, THE SONOF GOD, AND ASK HIM TO FORGIVE YOU, CONFESSING TO GOD THAT YOU BELIEVE IN THE GOSPEL THAT IS IN THIS TRACT.
    Romans 10:9-13 KJV That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
    10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
    11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
    12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
    13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
