    Nice vid, good looking taco. Thanks for the DIY. A shop here in Phoenix wanted to charge me $450 to adjust my kings the front lower by 1”. No thank you!

    You need to upgrade the lower shock bolt , the stock one is stepped and unevenly supported which will lead to a failed spherical bearing in the lower shock mount. 303 shock service has the upgraded bearings and proper bolts. Look for Classy Garages video about this 🤙🏽

    Get the King T-handle adjuster tool. No need to remove front coilovers from truck or move the reservoir tubes and risk leaking oil like I did 🤦

    Did you notice a difference in ride quality once you lifted the fronts more?

    • @eluv201
      @eluv201  8 місяців тому

      Lifting it to 2.5” you will sacrifice ride quality but not so bad because these are mid travel “extended travel”. But because I have 35’s I had to move my caster way forward and that’s where you really sacrifice ride travel unfortunately. It’s not so bad but you tend to feel the really sharp bumps on pavement until you air down on the trail then you’re golden.

    Dam I've been told that you have to compress the spring in order to adjust the collar for preload? You think this is acceptable for the OME BP51'S? They say aluminum body coilovers threads will be damaged if you don't unload the collar? Interesting

    • @eluv201
      @eluv201  3 місяці тому +1

      Theyre CTOA😆 Just lift the front with floor jack and relieve some pressure, loosen collar just a bit or you will screw it up and shred your threads, spray lube and crank it, make sure tightened when done ✅ You’re good 👍

    Great video, I am trying to use this same set of coilovers for my 2021 Tacoma, however, I wanted factory height, do you know if it'd provide no lift or minimumly what kind of lift is it going to have with the collar all the way up to no preload? Thanks!

    • @eluv201
      @eluv201  5 місяців тому +1

      King Shocks say they send it out to you at 2” that wasn’t the case for me though but typically is how it’s supposed to be.

      Negative. Didn’t have too. I know it’s recommended but not necessary. I went with an OTT tune for some pony on low end torque. It is phenomenal… Check out my install and review with PNW tuning ua-cam.com/video/f0egycp5olk/v-deo.htmlsi=t5ca1f9zQoBHC5OQ

    Hey Brother great video. Nice rig. Waiting on my Kings to arrive through accutune. On preload question that’s 5 full turns correct? Thanks for any help. Moving up from Bilstein as well super excited

    • @eluv201

      Nice buy. They’re amazing and worth every penny. 5 full turns equal 1” of ride height. King reps would tell you they come from factory at 2”. Don’t take them at their word like me a get hosed. Go all the way to the top and start from zero than count your turns 👍🏼

    Did you do alignment after the install ? I have the same setup I took it for alignment and they said I max my caster and cannot be aligned , and I need to to replace my oem lower control arm , with adjustable control arms so it can be aligned properly .

    • @eluv201

      I believe they meant upper control arms… And yes you would need adjustable upper control arms.

      @@walidbakri.k9191 I believe that’s a 33” tire. You will more than likely rub on full lock unless you do at best a cab mount chop. Are you rubbing? Also adjustable upper control arm like the SPC or the Total Chaos HEIM would help on caster. But lower control arm does the majority of your caster. If you have an after market UCA that should clear your tire but positive caster would help clear your tire from rubbing on your cab mount too hard with a 33” tire. Too much caster and you get bump steer. I’d take it to an Offroad shop only to get your alignment.
