That's okay. There aren't really any pills, or a room.
@NonyaBusiness!
I can't see Bill Cosby wearing leather clothing.
I was 9 years old when I saw this on VHS tape with my dad at home and even then I knew this would be a classic 🙂
I think at the beginning, Morpheus was smiling because of how perfectly his turn around lined up with the lightning.
🤣🤣🤣
@Frank Castle He probably manipulated it to look that way.

I want his shiny box
Its kinda ironic because Morpheus really only introduced his perspective and knowledge as the truth to Neo, but Morpheus does not know the whole story either as he is being played by the Oracle and Architect. It really just shows that anyone with a strong enough belief will present their own subjective reality to others as facts.
Good point
Truly, there's no other way
tell dat shit to covid fascist psychos lol
@fighder2
Thank you for your interesting comment. I agree that Morpheus does not know the whole story. And I am glad that you brought this up. Just remember that God's truth is infinite. So nobody (except God) knows the whole story about anything.
At first glance, it appears to me that Morpheus fell short of doing an adequate job of preparing Neo by telling Neo the things that Neo needed to know in order to make an informed decision about whether to exit the Matrix (I.E. the dream world) or take the blue pill. Morpheus later apologized to Neo in the movie. When he apologized, Morpheus told Neo that he did what he did because he had to (do it).
After I thought this over, it occurred to me that Morpheus did not have all day long to prepare Neo. The duration of the interview between Morpheus and Neo was limited because Neo was still connected to the Matrix and the agents can eventually discover the hack in the Matrix if they are allowed enough time to do so. In the end, Morpheus had to do what he did because Neo is the one. If Neo takes the blue pill and goes home, then humanity cannot be saved. At least, not during this particular iteration of the Matrix.
It also makes you question free will. The entire first movie says "we do have free will, we aren't just slaves to our programming (destiny)". The second one says "but maybe not..". Neo does eventually CHOOSE Trinity, and that leads all the way to peace, but before that.. Morpheus was just another cog in a system. He thinks he's telling Neo the truth and doing it by his own choosing, he isn't, he never was. As The Merovingian says, "choice is an illusion created between those with power and those without". You can take it pretty far.
I’m still waiting my whole life for someone to say “no the honour is mine”

Guys, go easy on Ken Rascon; he's an American.
This movie came out when the internet wasn't what it is today. As a result, I had no fucking idea what I was getting into when I went to the theater that day. Nothing was spoiled, and I was shocked and confused as all hell when Neo suddenly woke up in that pod with cables coming out of every orifice. I miss the days when you could go into a movie not knowing a damn thing and be completely taken by surprise.
This was definitely one of the best movies ever made I literally watched it ten times in one day
You can still do that, just don’t watch the trailers bruh
@@Trump20-24years exactly, people act like watching the trailer to a movie is mandatory to the moviegoing experience every time you go and it isn’t.
Seeing this in the theater without knowing anything that was going to happen was a trip, you are right about that. Too bad they made sequels to it, I suspected they were a bad idea. But this movie easily one of the top 5 ever made, according to the things I look for in movies. What a great fucking story! Can we talk about how cool 3:49 is, with Neo being reflected in Morpheus's glasses and one pill visible on each eye? Great camera angle shot. Whoever thought that up is a genius.
That's three different shots (well two at least), they got the reverse angles of his hands with the pills and stitched it together in post. Understandable, getting a shot like that would be impossible or pretty close to it at least.
The glasses were black.. they put the specific shot in each side after editing

Brandon Lee supposedly was gonna play Neo
@Deep Inside And starring Marlon Brando in full on gives no shits mode as Agent Smith.
Will Smith...it would have been awful. Cracking stupid jokes and dancing and rapping in between. Fuck that.
The dichotomy between this scene and Neo’s earlier interrogation by Smith is awesome. Smith, as an Agent of the Matrix, saying ‘you pay your taxes’ with almost respect in his voice, because it’s a standard act within the laws of the Matrix that maintains the illusion and keeps humanity in line. Morpheus saying ‘when you pay your taxes’ with almost derision in his voice, because he knows it just helps maintain the status quo that the Matrix needs to keep functioning; as the Architect later explained, the ‘ideallic’ Matrix they created first was rejected by humanity, and only in one where humans have to do something as mundane as paying taxes do they blindly accept it as reality.
"paying your taxes" is a metaphore for interacting with your machine authority overlord. it is the ultimate proof of your belief in the system.
We're all enslaved to a system that belittles us and demands absolute authority over every aspect of our lives
We're nothing more than chickens in a battery farm trapped in a cage in an existence of perpetual misery and ignorance until finally we die and our remains are abandoned like so much trash
Lots of people talk about the action and groundbreaking visual effects, but if you ask me, what really made this movie so special was the storyline, the mysteriousness, the incredibly well defined characters, the dialogue that's pure perfection, the acting, the steady, deliberate incredibly artfull cinematography, (no b.s. shaky cam nonsense and every frame is an art piece that communicates a story) the music (which is near perfection) and overall atmosphere and vibe. The action and visual effects were simply the icing on an already outstanding masterpiece.

Part of me always liked to think that Morpheus knew how to find Neo for a long time, and this isn’t their first interaction. What if they’d met multiple times before, but Neo was taking the Blue pill and going back to his life, and then Morpheus starts slowly feeding him information, making him more curious about The Matrix. Neo is “The One”. The fate of humanity would be doomed if this single interaction went differently.

Lawrence fishburn, the most underrated actor in hollywood
I've always believed that this perfectly explains the world and society.
Yep
Yeah, I think the Matrix is a parable for society and culture. It's a force which is internal to our minds, which governs our behavior without any kind of external physical coercion, like an internal prison, since the majority of what governs our behavior is culture, rather than law. We're just brought up to believe that we must stay within the confines of what our culture dictates, and since it's all been reinforced to us so repeatedly, going against it produces a sensation of anxiety, not unlike a little voice that says, "Ooh, you shouldn't do that," even if the decision to either do or not do a particular thing should be completely trivial.
Even if and when we suspect that it's all trivial, for some reason, the majority of us would stay within our internal confines anyway, even if we might genuinely like to break the ever-so-precious rules a little bit. For instance, maybe you'd like to go to a restaurant and order dessert first, or maybe you'd like to go for a walk during a rainstorm and deliberately get soaking wet, or maybe you're a man who would rather wear women's underpants than men's, just because you find them so much more comfortable.
They're just random examples, but if you feel like doing such things, the only rules that say you mustn't are completely inside of your own head.
unfortunately, no one can be told what the UA-cam algorithm is. You have to see it for yourself

So I've been on a Matrix binge lately. What I first assumed was clunky pacing is actually high level filmmaking. The mystery surrounding Morpheus and his team all but disappears in a matter of 15 minutes, between the time Neo takes the pill and defeats Morpheus in the Kung-Fu simulation. As a younger viewer, I wished the movie revealed more, later in the film, and get Morpheus and Trinity more mysterious until later in the film, but now I realize it's just right. The red pilled humans were desperate, and gave Neo exactly what he needed so that his mind wouldn't reject the truth. I wish the rest of the series kept this kind of intentional pacing.

I love how when morpheus says "that you are a slave" the shot on neo is slightly less green, he now already has a foot out of the matrix...
Very very beautiful Budism concept movie, one of the best film ever!
“3:50” I never really took in how great a shot that is. Legendary cinematography all around!
It really is phenomenal, but it could be cgi, which would diminish the camera skill
True it would take away from it’s skill aspect. Wouldn’t take away from the legendary aspect

"All i'm offering is the truth...from a certain point of view!"
"You were the chosen one, Neo! You were supposed to destroy the machines, not join them!"
😜😜😜
@@SunlightGwyn I HATE YOU!!!
@@SunlightGwyn IT'S OVER NEO, I HAVE THE HIGH GROUND
@@SunlightGwyn From my point of view, the resistance is evil!
“Hey, wanna come to mine and watch the matrix?”
“What’s the matrix?”
“2:58”
The truth is like a lion, you don’t need to defend it. Let it loose, it will defend itself.
- Saint Augustine
The Matrix is to Cinema what Bach was to music. Revolutionary, Iconic, morally relevant and endlessly Timeless.
Everything in this movie is so goddamn perfect.
Good stuff ...seen that
