Spare a thought for the best character in this s-show: Torbin. His story is actually the perfect allegory for the audience experience: Dragged into a task for 7 weeks without a clue as to why we’re here. All we want is to desperately go back home to the Star Wars we know and love. Disney (aka Jedi Council) says we’ve got to stay because…reasons. So when we see a hint of a decent lightsaber battle, off we go on our speeders saying maybe this is the point our fortunes change. But no, our desperate hope is swatted down by Headland mindgames with the next three episodes. At the end of it, we leave, shell-shocked and vowing to never speak of this abomination of a show ever again. 16 years later, someone asks us to recount our experience of the Acolyte and we happily take the poison rather that dredge that crap up again. Raise your glasses to Torbin. He took one for the team. Damn this show.
Also, the story that Sol murdered the 3 jedi would not stick because multiple Jedi know that the eyewitness description of the killer is a black female and secondly, Sol was also at the jedi temple training younglings when Indara was killed. Thirdly, the Jedi at the other temple were with Sol when Torbin took his own life. Multiple Jedi know that Sol could not have committed the murders. His alibi is the other Jedi. So there is no way he could be framed for the murders because no one would believe the story 🤦♂

But the external investigation that lasted 2 minutes said the jedi master Nepo perfectly explained all, it was all the fault of some imperfect man that died and was cremated, and the show ended so all is well. Stamp and archive.
Sol telling Osha he "loved" her - sounds like pretty fucked up tbh. The whole jedi thing of paring young girls with 'masters' in their 20s or w/e. Kind of wonder if it's a metaphor for her relationship with Weinstein.

Osha's whole character arc was wanted to become a Jedi, failed miserably at it, and then become an Acolyte to protect the Jedi, despite the fact they did nothing wrong.
They got the memory wipe idea from Legends. The Jedi Council wiped the memory of Revan. However, it took the ENTIRE COUNCIL to do it and they wiped his entire memory. He had no clue who he was. This selective mind wipe crap from a single person in like 5 seconds as easy as he did it, just doesn’t make any sense.
This, there's several force powers that have recently been taken out of proportion. Mind wiping took the entire council. Bastila having a super rare ability that lets one nudge others emotions to solidify allies or break enemies. Someone using force sense being more of a I feel a collection of negative emotions from this general area. All overpowered but limited and thus acceptable.
The sheer fact that they threw this ability in completely out of the blue is hilarious. Like, there is NO setup for it or foreshadowing, at all. Smilo just suddenly goes “oh, I can wipe her mind” completely unprompted and without any previous build-up in anything either in the show or in other recent expanded material.
It’s not a story, it’s not a fable, its not a fairytale…it’s just a power trip fantasy, a fan fiction from tumblr back when. A narcissistic injection of plot points into the work of someone else without understanding what made it good. It’s like the kings new clothes…just everyone sees it’s nekkid, everyone too scared to say „it is good, because it HAS to be good…it’s female, and dei and female and gay and female and did I mention female?
It would've been such a more interesting concept than twins, one good and one evil, if Osha and Mae were just one character who either had a split personality, or Smilo Ren was erasing her memories after she kills Jedi. That would've made for much better conflict when the Jedi investigate the assassinations and Osha actually doesn't remember doing anything.
Note the damaged bridge is still standing, the two ends of the bridge are only at a moderate angle, so the twins could have easily survived by either grabbing the railing, or taking a few steps back instead of standing there reaching towards empty space and calling each other's names for several minutes waiting for the bridge to collapse more.
How did Mae survive? Where did her alien mother go? Why did Smilo go to train Mae and how did he know about the power of Two? Does this mean that Occupational Safety and Health Administration will become Plaguies master?
Iirc, they cancelled future seasons of the show, so at least we won't see any more of this shite. A bit of a shame tho, LP and Shad's vids of it have been pure gold

In this very episode Sol defeats Smylo 1 on 1, soundly at that. This is the second time he's had him dead to rights. So Sol can defeat a Sith that can toss around and kill a dozen Jedi at once without getting a scratch on him. He can't block Mae from jabbing him casually, despite being on alert and despite her being vastly weaker than Smylo who is weaker than Sol. He also cannot sense her pulling Pip out! Remember when Qui Gon was demonstrating the benefits of the force and he snapped his fingers around Jar Jar's darting tongue, holding it in place? Remember when Star Wars wasn't utter trash?
Bob Iger really does need to take responsibility for the problems of the company. So ... Qimir ended up being Palpatine ? With a Teenage Plagueis. Darth Basil. The mothers both died as Dementors. Seoul, was the last one to be put into a bonfire, and his death is used to hide the myriad of core faults of a woman in power, hired by nepotism. The Jedi "forget" to use the Force whenever there's any danger or conflict. They forget to use the force whenever there is a choice to make, or forget that they are supposed to surrender, egoless and non-finite. The Jedi are overly emotional and dramatic, fall into anger and depression, and are 'bad'. Because.
The writing in this show is horrendous. It was never in Oshas character to force choke Master Sol. She never had a hint of evil during the whole series. And when did Osha ever become a badass? The show never shown Osha lift a finger in the series and in one episode she becomes a tenth degree black belt? She couldn’t even use the force to draw Pip to her, where the hell did she get the power to force choke all of a sudden. The only part I enjoyed out of this whole series was when Pip squirted a load all over Oshas face. Other than that, this show made no FN sense. And what the hell did the ending represent? Qimir and Osha are going to make Blackanese babies with biceps and that are going to trip and plant their face into the ground every five minutes?

I'm convinced the Plageuis scene wasn't in the show at all until it was finished and they were doing press tours and Leslye Headland was asked if/how this show ties into the prequels and Plageuis and Palpatine and she was like "Ooohh that's interesting I dunno..." then went back to the CGI team and said "quick make a 15 second scene showing Plageuis quick!" And they were like, but we haven't decided what the Canon Plagueis is gonna look like or anything! And she goes "well what did he look like before?" And they'll grab James Luceno's Plageuis novel they made non-canon and go look here's a book cover art of the guy, then Leslye goes "OK yeah that just make that exactly and shove in in the last 30 minutes of the 8th episode somewhere quick!"
It sounds like this show turned everyone into a creep - the witches, the Jedi, the twins, and now Plagueis. Clearly the writers stuck to their comfort zone 🙄
There is a glaring mistake in the fight between Sol and Smilo that I'm actually kind of surprised that Tyranth and Shad overlooked. When they're in the bind and Smilo is using his lightsaber to pull Sol's into his cortosis helmet and short circuit it, question. What's between Smilo's lightsaber and Sol's head?... Nothing! Instead of pulling the lightsabers towards you and Sol resisting, just TURN YOUR BLOODY WRIST and you take Sol's head off! They were gripping each other's forearms, but that would not have restricted Smilo's wrist at all. Plus it's trivial to break a grip like that, as Sol does immediately afterwards.
Not understanding how the Force works, retconning the lifespan of Cereans because of Ki-Adi Mundi, making the Jedi overly emotional and incompetent idiots as well as liars and now breaking the Rule of Two. Congratulations Headland you did what fans thought was impossible; you made a show that's as bad if not worse than the Sequel Trilogy.
This show has plenty of issues, but let’s not pretend like breaking the Rule of Two is one of them. In everybody’s favorite novel Tenebrous has two apprentices. Maul was being trained while Plagueis was still alive. Everybody loves Starkiller. There are plenty of examples of beloved, or at least not problematic times where there were more than two Sith during Bane’s Rule of Two era.

The Rule of Two state that there can only be two Sith at a given time; a Sith Master and Sith Apprentice. Ex-Sith Apprentices are not considered Sith but they can regain the title of being a Sith by somehow convincing their Master to take them back (unlikely) or killing their Master (likely). The latter was done by Darth Zannah who killed Darth Bane and took her intended replacement Darth Cognus as her own Apprentice. Replacement apprentices are unofficial disciples taken either by a Master who wants a new Apprentice or an Apprentice/Ex-Apprentice who is seeking to usurp their Master. They are not considered a true Sith until the one of the existing two Sith is removed. Maul (when Plagueis was alive) and Starkiller were replacement apprentices. Now onto the reason why I feel the show breaks the Rule of Two: the usage of the term Acolyte. Not to be confused with the title Dark Acolyte which was sometime given to Dark Jedi, Acolyte is a Sith rank lower than Apprentice that was used prior to the establishment of the Rule of Two. It was given to Sith who had yet to become an Apprentice but who were recognised to be more than just Dark Jedi. Now, if Qimir told Sol he wanted an Apprentice instead of an Acolyte that would be fine because that indicates he wants to usurp Plagueis and is looking for a replacement apprentice. Qimir used the term Acolyte though which means he wants a junior. Which is just...what??? Am I to seriously believe that Qimir is willing to disregard the Rule of Two because he feels lonely and wants to play senpai? That’s ridiculous. You may argue that my definition of Acolyte is based heavily on EU/Legends lore rather than solely canon but considering how much of EU/Legends content was ripped to be pasted into Disney’s canon (including this very show) I feel that it’s fair to do so. It was posted and deleted by a person whose username I can’t fully recall but I know started with Alex. I was under the impression that you were the same person. Apologies for the mistake. What exactly are the things he has done that aren’t expected of a true Sith? Pretending to be someone else/having a false persona and manipulating others to do their bidding is pretty on point for a Sith. Also, arguing that Qimir would break the rules because he’s 'reckless' doesn't make sense because Qimir's not reckless he's cautious. The man was so cautious that he even hid his identity from Mae and only came out of hiding to kill the Jedi in order to ensure that there would be no witnesses regarding his involvement to Mae's murder spree. The reason I believe that the Rule of Two has been broken is based 4 things: my knowledge about the Rule of Two, my knowledge of what the Sith Order was like prior to the Rule of Two, what the show itself has shown the audience thus far, and Headland’s propensity to disregard previously established lore on other matters (eg: Cereans’ lifespans). All the information I have currently is telling me that the Rule of Two has been broken. Maybe in the future there will be information included into season 2 that will prove me wrong (if there is even a season 2) but until that day I see no reason to alter my assumption.

What about the literal plot hole? The giant dark force hole in the ground that none of the jedi noticed at the mining base? Did that just disappear over a few years?
I remember when people argued about AI art and someone made a point about the dangers of "AI" learning from human artists, then from other AI arts and in the end we will get the copies of the copies, bland, nonsense stuff. That's how the story and the characters of the Acolyte feel to me. Back in the day people used their life experiences and read as much as they could to make their unique stories, but from generation to generation the quality degraded. With stories like the Rings of Power or Acolyte we are at the point where people writing these have no life experiences, never held a book and at most they watched things in TV/Cinema that they did not understand, but it looked cool so now they are trying to copy them. The whole S1 is full of examples for this.
This was a very expensive therapy session for Headland. I read she had issues with her sister, so Headland is Osha, her sister Mae. Dr Teeth is Harvey Weinstein, and she's trying to use the show to subconsciously justify her "work" for him.
Even the ferret's motivations flip flopped like a windsock. I think everyone in this show was drunk and high and had no idea what was going on from one minute to another.
Why do they... KEEP GETTING WORSE!? I sware they're gaslighting us EACH, and EVERY TIME, we point out problems in one show they add three more problems in the next show that make the last show look better than the current one Take the grand inquisitor entering that one bar looking for a jedi. Then compare it to May's entrance. Sure, the Grand inquisitor looks a bit goofy, but he carries himself AS a VILLIAN. Same for Reva and the fifth brother. They KNOW they're here for a fight. May doesn't give off ANY confidence in her walk other than girl boss or mean girl walk. An assassin should carry themselves like there's always a target on their back. Just waiting for a betrayal. Just like Zam in attack of the clones. This show doesn't carry themselves seriously at all.
The Acolyte is WORSE than Rings of Power. The writing is literally worse than what your average fourth grader could produce. Not a single character has a consistent motivation!
Worse yet, Sol doesn't even react to it, and just lets the gopher free. The gopher then seamlessly goes back to helping track and find Mae with the other Jedi.
There's the part in Phantom Menace where after ki adi mundi says the sith have been extinct, Yoda gives this look of concern. I guarantee you that's their justification for making him compliant in the cover-up.
So the green-with-envy Jedi master is basically Leslye Headland as a true to form character, and Good Twin (now eviler twin) was proven correct with what she said in ep 7. She is not as "easily corrupted" as her sister...she is even easier to corrupt. And the moral of this crap story is: If you make a huge mistake that hurts others...just blame it on someone else and you are still the good person in the situation. What a great lesson to teach. Definitely not narcissistic or an excuse to deflect criticism at all.
Every episode was written by a different person(s), which is why characters have different motivations each ep. I wouldn't be surprised if each writer got a brief summary of the previous episode from an unpaid intern and then wrote the next episode.

Even taking as true the claims it had an addition 75 million added to cover repairs after hurricane losses, that's still only 371 million after inflation. May would have not survived as the sucktion pipe had no power due to her destroying it plus looks like in the last episode the drop length changed, They are tryinfg to copy the sky city but both are there to get rid of rubbish make some sense in sky city but not in this series. Plus they have less advanced elecetronics as we do as surly it should be circuit on a board not a few wires.
So these people (by which I mean the showrunners) don't understand lightsabers at all. Ignoring all the nonsense about bleeding the crystals, (if they want that to be a thing I don't really care even if i preferred the previous iteration of red being easier to synthesise which showed the impatience of the sith when compared to the jedi), they seem to be unaware that those things need to be ridiculously exact. The reason only jedi use really use them (apart from the fact that force reflexes are basically necessary to stop you from severing your own limbs) is that they need to use the force to align every piece perfectly as the slightest deviation more often than not causes the lightsaber to violently explode. If Sol's lightsaber had been damaged enough that the crystal was poking out, trying to turn it on would have set it off.
My thoughts on why Vernestra is the main go-to Master in this series (in universe) is that she's the head of one of the smaller councils of the Jedi Temple. There are 4 lesser councils, each operating out of one of the four outer spires of the temple, and the High Council which operates from the centre spire. I did and didn't get Plagueis vibes from the cave dweller. Did because I know that's how Disney is going to spin it if for some reason this garbage gets a second season, and didn't because it didn't look much like a Muun. But then I remembered what they did to Pauans in Kenobi and realised that they probably just completely changed the look of the species again. Fuck this show and Disney can go to hell.
There is no way this show wasn't writen by ChatGPT. About twenty years ago my twelve years old sister wrote her own short fantasy story and made me read for feedback. It was as bad as one can expect, but not even remotely comparable to awfulness of Acolite.

Why was Jedi Master Nepo reporting to and revealing things to the Senate when the only reason she was trying to cover up events from the Jedi High Council was so the information wouldn't get to their political enemies in the Senate You could fill the Grand Canyone with the sheer number of plot and character contrivances in this show

Also why is she above the Jedi Council? They are the ones who are meant to interact with the Senate. This is like having the boss of the mailroom going to talk to potential business partners instead of the CEO and Execs.
Tbh, there are a ton of questions that will never be answered. Like why did all the jedi die in 1 season yet they could've of made 2 of them live than die at season 2. Next on of the twins could sacrifices them selfs to save sol, what was the motive behind both twins, the list goes on. I miss old shows like dads army or it ain't half hot mum where the character have a story arc to the point it continues to the end. Well imo what a waste of 8 eps we all got, 0 plot, 0 mains, etc. Disney wars the acolyte -666/10. Rip good story writing and redemption arcs etc.

There is a possibility that the writers think Green Mr Clean is telling the events the way she actually thinks they happened. The show has always struggled to match what was suppose to be happening to what they were showing as happening. This could be another screw up.

Entirely unearned injection of lore changing / breaking / establishing storylines. The show breaks it's own flow. E7 shows not a single reason the Jedi would be considered the "at-fault" side of that conflict, and E8 creates a false narrative to paint the Jedi as breaking their own rules, and paints Sol as the mastermind ( likely in an attempt to retcon itself for the Mundi gaffe ). In the process the show entirely forgets its own storyline where in the first 5 minutes of the season, Mae destroys an entire bar and kills one of the Jedi. So now Sol, who is declared a suicide ( even though the body was sent afloat and burning on a lake ), is labelled a crazed depraved "flawed man", although universally liked as the strongest character on the show. Mind boggling. The choices and decisions within the production of this show show zero effort to dovetail into canon, and show in more than a few instances a shocking lack of basic desire to do so. Heading up a SW project is not project greenlight. It is not a freshman assignment. This team breaks the trust of the audience supporting SW, and then mocks them in the media. Lucasfilm gave the keys to a Ferrari and a $180mil budget to an unqualified team, who could have easily hired the best writing staff and continutity specialists available, if it wanted to. Instead it chose to color the entire Jedi order as less than what every other creator in the SW universe has done... and it appears to simply be for the shock value of it all. When someone goes out of their way to produce asymmetrical content, the feedback they get is the feedback they earned. Feloni has not done a single interview nor published a single word about this show which intimates that he agrees with, approved, nor oversaw the storylines within this production. He has been conspicuously silent. This production has given rise to a well deserved title - SWINO ( Star Wars in Name Only ). And make no mistake -- they worked very hard and burned through an enormous budget to earn that title. It gives me no pleasure to provide this overview. We all want SW content to be great exercises in world building, character building, and lore building. I know barely anything about Star Wars only having seen a couple prequels in theatres when I was a teenager. I watch your your videos because I find your breakdowns and rants highly entertaining. That being said my lack of knowledge had me mishearing it as "Virgins of the Force" and now I can't unhear it. Thank you for always making my work days going faster!

I’m SHOCKED that Shad didn’t take issue with the “reversed lightsaber lock” part of Sol vs. Qamir duel. I thought that was an unbelievably stupid move: Sol and Qamir locked lightsabers and were pushing against each other; then Qamir shifts his blade so it’s BEHIND Sol’s blade and appears to try PULLING Sol’s blade into his Cortosis helmet to disable Sol’s lightsaber, so Qamir can kill him. BUT Qamir had his blade behind Sol’s blade; he’d already gotten past Sol’s defense! All Qamir had to do was swing his blade forward and he would’ve decapitated Sol! OR Qamir could’ve headbutted Sol’s lightsaber blade like he did to one of the random Jedi in episode 5. OR Qamir could’ve pulled out his lightsaber knife from the bottom of the hilt and shanked Sol, like he did to Jecki in episode 5. It would’ve been amazing if Qamir tried that same move, but since Sol witnessed it, he was able to counter it. That would’ve demonstrated how Sol had LEARNED from the previous fight and sorta explained why he was a match for Qamir in this duel. I sincerely hope Shad addresses this because this flawed fight choreography seems so egregious.

Spare a thought for the best character in this s-show: Torbin. His story is actually the perfect allegory for the audience experience:
Dragged into a task for 7 weeks without a clue as to why we’re here. All we want is to desperately go back home to the Star Wars we know and love. Disney (aka Jedi Council) says we’ve got to stay because…reasons. So when we see a hint of a decent lightsaber battle, off we go on our speeders saying maybe this is the point our fortunes change. But no, our desperate hope is swatted down by Headland mindgames with the next three episodes. At the end of it, we leave, shell-shocked and vowing to never speak of this abomination of a show ever again.
16 years later, someone asks us to recount our experience of the Acolyte and we happily take the poison rather that dredge that crap up again.

Also, the story that Sol murdered the 3 jedi would not stick because multiple Jedi know that the eyewitness description of the killer is a black female and secondly, Sol was also at the jedi temple training younglings when Indara was killed. Thirdly, the Jedi at the other temple were with Sol when Torbin took his own life. Multiple Jedi know that Sol could not have committed the murders. His alibi is the other Jedi. So there is no way he could be framed for the murders because no one would believe the story 🤦♂

They got the memory wipe idea from Legends. The Jedi Council wiped the memory of Revan. However, it took the ENTIRE COUNCIL to do it and they wiped his entire memory. He had no clue who he was.
This selective mind wipe crap from a single person in like 5 seconds as easy as he did it, just doesn’t make any sense.
NONE of it makes any sense.
This, there's several force powers that have recently been taken out of proportion. Mind wiping took the entire council. Bastila having a super rare ability that lets one nudge others emotions to solidify allies or break enemies. Someone using force sense being more of a I feel a collection of negative emotions from this general area. All overpowered but limited and thus acceptable.
The sheer fact that they threw this ability in completely out of the blue is hilarious. Like, there is NO setup for it or foreshadowing, at all. Smilo just suddenly goes “oh, I can wipe her mind” completely unprompted and without any previous build-up in anything either in the show or in other recent expanded material.
It’s not a story, it’s not a fable, its not a fairytale…it’s just a power trip fantasy, a fan fiction from tumblr back when. A narcissistic injection of plot points into the work of someone else without understanding what made it good. It’s like the kings new clothes…just everyone sees it’s nekkid, everyone too scared to say „it is good, because it HAS to be good…it’s female, and dei and female and gay and female and did I mention female?
Which is why this era of media will be ignored in the general continuity of the respective Fandom's universes.

It would've been such a more interesting concept than twins, one good and one evil, if Osha and Mae were just one character who either had a split personality, or Smilo Ren was erasing her memories after she kills Jedi. That would've made for much better conflict when the Jedi investigate the assassinations and Osha actually doesn't remember doing anything.
Note the damaged bridge is still standing, the two ends of the bridge are only at a moderate angle, so the twins could have easily survived by either grabbing the railing, or taking a few steps back instead of standing there reaching towards empty space and calling each other's names for several minutes waiting for the bridge to collapse more.

In this very episode Sol defeats Smylo 1 on 1, soundly at that.
This is the second time he's had him dead to rights.
So Sol can defeat a Sith that can toss around and kill a dozen Jedi at once without getting a scratch on him.
He can't block Mae from jabbing him casually, despite being on alert and despite her being vastly weaker than Smylo who is weaker than Sol.
He also cannot sense her pulling Pip out!

The Jedi "forget" to use the Force whenever there's any danger or conflict. They forget to use the force whenever there is a choice to make, or forget that they are supposed to surrender, egoless and non-finite.
The Jedi are overly emotional and dramatic, fall into anger and depression, and are 'bad'.

The writing in this show is horrendous. It was never in Oshas character to force choke Master Sol. She never had a hint of evil during the whole series. And when did Osha ever become a badass? The show never shown Osha lift a finger in the series and in one episode she becomes a tenth degree black belt? She couldn’t even use the force to draw Pip to her, where the hell did she get the power to force choke all of a sudden. The only part I enjoyed out of this whole series was when Pip squirted a load all over Oshas face. Other than that, this show made no FN sense. And what the hell did the ending represent? Qimir and Osha are going to make Blackanese babies with biceps and that are going to trip and plant their face into the ground every five minutes?
I choked on my Cornflakes at that point.

I'm convinced the Plageuis scene wasn't in the show at all until it was finished and they were doing press tours and Leslye Headland was asked if/how this show ties into the prequels and Plageuis and Palpatine and she was like "Ooohh that's interesting I dunno..." then went back to the CGI team and said "quick make a 15 second scene showing Plageuis quick!" And they were like, but we haven't decided what the Canon Plagueis is gonna look like or anything! And she goes "well what did he look like before?" And they'll grab James Luceno's Plageuis novel they made non-canon and go look here's a book cover art of the guy, then Leslye goes "OK yeah that just make that exactly and shove in in the last 30 minutes of the 8th episode somewhere quick!"
It sounds like this show turned everyone into a creep - the witches, the Jedi, the twins, and now Plagueis. Clearly the writers stuck to their comfort zone 🙄
There is a glaring mistake in the fight between Sol and Smilo that I'm actually kind of surprised that Tyranth and Shad overlooked.
When they're in the bind and Smilo is using his lightsaber to pull Sol's into his cortosis helmet and short circuit it, question. What's between Smilo's lightsaber and Sol's head?... Nothing! Instead of pulling the lightsabers towards you and Sol resisting, just TURN YOUR BLOODY WRIST and you take Sol's head off! They were gripping each other's forearms, but that would not have restricted Smilo's wrist at all. Plus it's trivial to break a grip like that, as Sol does immediately afterwards.

Not understanding how the Force works, retconning the lifespan of Cereans because of Ki-Adi Mundi, making the Jedi overly emotional and incompetent idiots as well as liars and now breaking the Rule of Two. Congratulations Headland you did what fans thought was impossible; you made a show that's as bad if not worse than the Sequel Trilogy.
This show has plenty of issues, but let’s not pretend like breaking the Rule of Two is one of them. In everybody’s favorite novel Tenebrous has two apprentices. Maul was being trained while Plagueis was still alive. Everybody loves Starkiller. There are plenty of examples of beloved, or at least not problematic times where there were more than two Sith during Bane’s Rule of Two era.

The Rule of Two state that there can only be two Sith at a given time; a Sith Master and Sith Apprentice. Ex-Sith Apprentices are not considered Sith but they can regain the title of being a Sith by somehow convincing their Master to take them back (unlikely) or killing their Master (likely). The latter was done by Darth Zannah who killed Darth Bane and took her intended replacement Darth Cognus as her own Apprentice. Replacement apprentices are unofficial disciples taken either by a Master who wants a new Apprentice or an Apprentice/Ex-Apprentice who is seeking to usurp their Master. They are not considered a true Sith until the one of the existing two Sith is removed. Maul (when Plagueis was alive) and Starkiller were replacement apprentices.
Now onto the reason why I feel the show breaks the Rule of Two: the usage of the term Acolyte. Not to be confused with the title Dark Acolyte which was sometime given to Dark Jedi, Acolyte is a Sith rank lower than Apprentice that was used prior to the establishment of the Rule of Two. It was given to Sith who had yet to become an Apprentice but who were recognised to be more than just Dark Jedi. Now, if Qimir told Sol he wanted an Apprentice instead of an Acolyte that would be fine because that indicates he wants to usurp Plagueis and is looking for a replacement apprentice. Qimir used the term Acolyte though which means he wants a junior. Which is just...what??? Am I to seriously believe that Qimir is willing to disregard the Rule of Two because he feels lonely and wants to play senpai? That’s ridiculous.
You may argue that my definition of Acolyte is based heavily on EU/Legends lore rather than solely canon but considering how much of EU/Legends content was ripped to be pasted into Disney’s canon (including this very show) I feel that it’s fair to do so.

What exactly are the things he has done that aren’t expected of a true Sith? Pretending to be someone else/having a false persona and manipulating others to do their bidding is pretty on point for a Sith. Also, arguing that Qimir would break the rules because he’s 'reckless' doesn't make sense because Qimir's not reckless he's cautious. The man was so cautious that he even hid his identity from Mae and only came out of hiding to kill the Jedi in order to ensure that there would be no witnesses regarding his involvement to Mae's murder spree.
The reason I believe that the Rule of Two has been broken is based 4 things: my knowledge about the Rule of Two, my knowledge of what the Sith Order was like prior to the Rule of Two, what the show itself has shown the audience thus far, and Headland’s propensity to disregard previously established lore on other matters (eg: Cereans’ lifespans). All the information I have currently is telling me that the Rule of Two has been broken. Maybe in the future there will be information included into season 2 that will prove me wrong (if there is even a season 2) but until that day I see no reason to alter my assumption.

I remember when people argued about AI art and someone made a point about the dangers of "AI" learning from human artists, then from other AI arts and in the end we will get the copies of the copies, bland, nonsense stuff. That's how the story and the characters of the Acolyte feel to me. Back in the day people used their life experiences and read as much as they could to make their unique stories, but from generation to generation the quality degraded. With stories like the Rings of Power or Acolyte we are at the point where people writing these have no life experiences, never held a book and at most they watched things in TV/Cinema that they did not understand, but it looked cool so now they are trying to copy them. The whole S1 is full of examples for this.
This was a very expensive therapy session for Headland. I read she had issues with her sister, so Headland is Osha, her sister Mae. Dr Teeth is Harvey Weinstein, and she's trying to use the show to subconsciously justify her "work" for him.

Worse yet, Sol doesn't even react to it, and just lets the gopher free. The gopher then seamlessly goes back to helping track and find Mae with the other Jedi.
There's the part in Phantom Menace where after ki adi mundi says the sith have been extinct, Yoda gives this look of concern. I guarantee you that's their justification for making him compliant in the cover-up.
The lightsaber crystal has visibly burst out of its socket. The blade shouldn't work anymore.
So the green-with-envy Jedi master is basically Leslye Headland as a true to form character, and Good Twin (now eviler twin) was proven correct with what she said in ep 7. She is not as "easily corrupted" as her sister...she is even easier to corrupt. And the moral of this crap story is: If you make a huge mistake that hurts others...just blame it on someone else and you are still the good person in the situation. What a great lesson to teach. Definitely not narcissistic or an excuse to deflect criticism at all.
Every episode was written by a different person(s), which is why characters have different motivations each ep. I wouldn't be surprised if each writer got a brief summary of the previous episode from an unpaid intern and then wrote the next episode.
But characters have different motives within the same episode.

Reminder that Waterworld's infamously bloated budget was only 100 million. Even taking as true the claims it had an addition 75 million added to cover repairs after hurricane losses, that's still only 371 million after inflation. Waterworld's crime, which crippled the studio for years, was *only* breaking even on its budget. What does it say about the 180 mil budget this will never make back?

May would have not survived as the sucktion pipe had no power due to her destroying it plus looks like in the last episode the drop length changed, They are tryinfg to copy the sky city but both are there to get rid of rubbish make some sense in sky city but not in this series. Plus they have less advanced elecetronics as we do as surly it should be circuit on a board not a few wires.
So these people (by which I mean the showrunners) don't understand lightsabers at all. Ignoring all the nonsense about bleeding the crystals, (if they want that to be a thing I don't really care even if i preferred the previous iteration of red being easier to synthesise which showed the impatience of the sith when compared to the jedi), they seem to be unaware that those things need to be ridiculously exact. The reason only jedi use really use them (apart from the fact that force reflexes are basically necessary to stop you from severing your own limbs) is that they need to use the force to align every piece perfectly as the slightest deviation more often than not causes the lightsaber to violently explode. If Sol's lightsaber had been damaged enough that the crystal was poking out, trying to turn it on would have set it off.
I just love how they tried to show the Jedi as the bad guys, and it totally blew up in their faces.

My thoughts on why Vernestra is the main go-to Master in this series (in universe) is that she's the head of one of the smaller councils of the Jedi Temple. There are 4 lesser councils, each operating out of one of the four outer spires of the temple, and the High Council which operates from the centre spire.
I did and didn't get Plagueis vibes from the cave dweller. Did because I know that's how Disney is going to spin it if for some reason this garbage gets a second season, and didn't because it didn't look much like a Muun. But then I remembered what they did to Pauans in Kenobi and realised that they probably just completely changed the look of the species again.
Fuck this show and Disney can go to hell.

Tbh, there are a ton of questions that will never be answered. Like why did all the jedi die in 1 season yet they could've of made 2 of them live than die at season 2. Next on of the twins could sacrifices them selfs to save sol, what was the motive behind both twins, the list goes on. I miss old shows like dads army or it ain't half hot mum where the character have a story arc to the point it continues to the end. Well imo what a waste of 8 eps we all got, 0 plot, 0 mains, etc. Disney wars the acolyte -666/10. Rip good story writing and redemption arcs etc.

There is a possibility that the writers think Green Mr Clean is telling the events the way she actually thinks they happened. The show has always struggled to match what was suppose to be happening to what they were showing as happening. This could be another screw up.

Entirely unearned injection of lore changing / breaking / establishing storylines. The show breaks it's own flow. E7 shows not a single reason the Jedi would be considered the "at-fault" side of that conflict, and E8 creates a false narrative to paint the Jedi as breaking their own rules, and paints Sol as the mastermind ( likely in an attempt to retcon itself for the Mundi gaffe ). In the process the show entirely forgets its own storyline where in the first 5 minutes of the season, Mae destroys an entire bar and kills one of the Jedi. So now Sol, who is declared a suicide ( even though the body was sent afloat and burning on a lake ), is labelled a crazed depraved "flawed man", although universally liked as the strongest character on the show. Mind boggling. The choices and decisions within the production of this show show zero effort to dovetail into canon, and show in more than a few instances a shocking lack of basic desire to do so. Heading up a SW project is not project greenlight. It is not a freshman assignment. This team breaks the trust of the audience supporting SW, and then mocks them in the media. Lucasfilm gave the keys to a Ferrari and a $180mil budget to an unqualified team, who could have easily hired the best writing staff and continutity specialists available, if it wanted to. Instead it chose to color the entire Jedi order as less than what every other creator in the SW universe has done... and it appears to simply be for the shock value of it all. When someone goes out of their way to produce asymmetrical content, the feedback they get is the feedback they earned. Feloni has not done a single interview nor published a single word about this show which intimates that he agrees with, approved, nor oversaw the storylines within this production. He has been conspicuously silent. This production has given rise to a well deserved title - SWINO ( Star Wars in Name Only ). And make no mistake -- they worked very hard and burned through an enormous budget to earn that title. It gives me no pleasure to provide this overview. We all want SW content to be great exercises in world building, character building, and lore building. One look at the SW cosplay community would tell you that SW is as diverse as the SW universe itself. Leave a good thing alone.

I’m SHOCKED that Shad didn’t take issue with the “reversed lightsaber lock” part of Sol vs. Qamir duel. I thought that was an unbelievably stupid move: Sol and Qamir locked lightsabers and were pushing against each other; then Qamir shifts his blade so it’s BEHIND Sol’s blade and appears to try PULLING Sol’s blade into his Cortosis helmet to disable Sol’s lightsaber, so Qamir can kill him.
BUT Qamir had his blade behind Sol’s blade; he’d already gotten past Sol’s defense! All Qamir had to do was swing his blade forward and he would’ve decapitated Sol!
OR Qamir could’ve headbutted Sol’s lightsaber blade like he did to one of the random Jedi in episode 5.
OR Qamir could’ve pulled out his lightsaber knife from the bottom of the hilt and shanked Sol, like he did to Jecki in episode 5. It would’ve been amazing if Qamir tried that same move, but since Sol witnessed it, he was able to counter it. That would’ve demonstrated how Sol had LEARNED from the previous fight and sorta explained why he was a match for Qamir in this duel.
I sincerely hope Shad addresses this because this flawed fight choreography seems so egregious.
