@mnstash yore very welcome I love spider-man so much but if I'm being real it's a tye between batman and spider-man they stand shoulder to shoulder in my brain but spider-man is my top marvel
This is beautiful. You did an amazing job my friend. I love your reasonings, some which I feel touch me as well. Spider-Man is one of my favorite marvel characters ever and will always always hold a special place in my heart. One your best videos yet, I know how much you’ve struggled with this one and it came out just the way I had envisioned. I hope this video reached more people, Spider-Man is beloved for a reason. Let’s hope he continues to stay that way.
The words mean a lot to me man thank you so much, I’m so happy with how this one turned out especially because it’s a video on spidey but I too hope it can reach others in need to show them they’re not alone :) thank you for the support
I’ve loved Spider-Man my whole life. To start with I just loved the costume but now that’s changed. Don’t get me wrong the costume is still perfect but the story’s keep me hooked. I love the character because his life is so messed up, so broken and torched and he helps people who probably wouldn’t give a crap about helping him but he does it because that’s what a good person does. He takes money from someone wanting to pay him and gives it to a homeless man, he takes the time to sit with a boy who has cancer to create a fun story where they fight the Sinister 60. He takes the time to name all the pregnant women’s unborn son’s Ben because he feels if he took a Ben away he should add as many back as possible. He cares so much. Too much even and we’ve all been there. Hell, I still am. Holding onto advice from your parents and questioning if you agree with it still or can’t really adapt because you agree with it too much. The supporting cast is also amazing. MJ is my favourite side character ever. The party girl who covers the horrible home life with an abusive writer of a father up with partying but snaps out of it when her friend and true love needs her the most. Harry is a lost boy trying to be a man wanting to grab the attention of the world because it keeps looking at someone else Gwen is a leader, the best of us, wanting to protect like her father but wanting to fit in and be fine by being different like Peter. If you want good Spidey stories to read then I recommend: Ultimate Spider-Man (2000): teenage Peter and for some the definitive origin and version of the character. Spider-Man Blue: the love story of Peter and Gwen (drawn beautifully by Tim Sale) and how Peter juggles that life. Spider-Man Parallel Lives: the story of Peter meeting MJ and her abusive life and becoming the woman we know Spider-Man Life Story: what if Spider-Man and his most iconic stories from each decade aged in real time Ongoing Ultimate Spider-Man (2024): a Peter who is a dad and who is not filled with guilt but rather un-satisfaction. The stories are about starting a new and the power of the truth.

The way you worded what Spider-Man is and does and such was beautiful too! Those suggestions are all great! My personal favourites from your suggestions would be the classic USM run and Spider-Man blue. Spider-Man blue I could do a whole video on with how special it is

@@mnstashThe owner of my local comic shop agreed with me that the current Amazing Spider-Man run is awful. That's why I appreciate the other Spidey series and mini series coming out lately. J.M. DeMatteis and Peter David mini series coming out every so often these days are top tier

Good video. What spiderman means to me is sacrificing what you want to do what’s right. That’s what I like about him the most. Most portrayals of him the last 20 years nail this.
Dude, holy crap I was emotional immediately from the get go. As much as I've been through and as much hardship as the family around and I, myself as a kid growing up, faced because of situations that I couldn't control. Spiderman was always there as a kid and I remember the first "comic" I got was also a Spiderman comic collection book lol with older and newer comic in it for the time. As I've gotten older I've not only still really looked up to Spidey but also when he's just Peter. I've begun to understand his struggle with becoming an adult and learning how to go about day to day life not only as spider man but also as Peter Parker, journalist for the Daily Bugle lol

I didn't get into Spider-Man until my years in middle school. My first exposure to the character was via Tom Holland's films and the Marvel Age comics. And something about him hooked me completely. As I continued through middle school, I tried to read a lot of Spider-Man, mostly via online websites. His adventures captivated me and I felt like I was very similar to him, a geek who never felt like he fit in always trying to balance multiple things at once. I felt like Peter and I were one and the same. When I got Marvel Epic Collection ASM Vol. 1 for Christmas, I broke down in tears. To see where it all began and all written by a man I had come to admire... it was truly something special. I was teased for my love of Spider-Man, even had people call me Spider-Man several times. It never really bothered me though. If anything I took it in stride. As I have gotten older, I have come to realize why I love the Wall-Crawler more than any other superhero, because deep down it's not about the spider, but the man. Peter Parker is the crucial element that makes Spider-Man the great character that he is. We all can relate to him in some way or another. It's why characters like Miles Morales enrage me. They spit in the face of what makes Spider-Man Spider-Man, cheapening it down to nothing but a costume and powers. When in all reality, Spider-Man is your average Joe just trying to do the right thing while balancing a double life. One day I hope the comics get better. I've even had hopes of one day writing for ASM, something I strive for every day.
Thanks for sharing your story, I’m sorry you had to experience assholes at school. You nailed what makes him so special, the human side, Peter Parker. I see maturing as realising the true strength of the man behind the mask. I agree not only do I not like any other spider-man but when the latest movie had a whole society of them I really despised the idea of it and the entire film
@@mnstash I think everyone goes through that, I've been made fun of my whole life, but I've learned to take it in stride. As someone who wants to be a comic book writer, I've been studying what makes heroes like Spidey so great. I yearn for the day I get hired to write for ASM one day to help set things right. Oh, thank the One Above All I'm not the only one who despises the Spiderverse! It was cool in the 90s and Shattered Dimensions, but ever since Dan Slott used the idea it's just lame!
I fundly remember my dad had taken me to see the first spiderman movie back in 02 (I was 6) and ive been just as much of a fan of the webhead as the rest of us ever since. Thank you dad
Spider-Man along with Sailor Moon and... a Greek folk song were the reasons I started to write. My novel, The Scarlet Fighter: Hero which I finishing shortly contains a chapter that acts as a homage to Stan Lee's legacy.
YOU DID IT STASH! THE BIG 1K! Let me just say that this video is the love letter to all of us lanky nerdy boys who wished we could web swing. Thank you
Very emotional level. I can really relate to your story. Thanks for good reminding of how long this character keep me up as long as i can remember myself. Nice one with reading all SM comics there is. Someday i achieve that too. Everyone who read some amount of comics can say that Pete is our friend.
So glad you and I could relate with this one! I made this video during a very difficult time in my life and it helped remind me spideys always there with his hand on my and many others shoulders letting them know they’re not alone! much love :)
Imo the reason i got into him in the first place was his COLOR. Spiderman has an extremely colorful costume and rogues gallery. Unlike batman who has darker colors and villains that can be same-y (most of em are just insane people), spiderman has villains that are extremely variable, diverse and full of color and are visually appealing to look at. Seeing Spidermans red and blue fight Goblin who is green and purple makes the characters pop. Not to mention the rogues gallery is extremely unique. You got the animal themed guys like Rhino, Vulture, Scorpion and Doctor Octopus. Then you got completely tonally and visually out of place villains like Green Goblin, Venom and Sandman. Its all so wacky and colorful that i cant look away from it. I also love how a lot of his villains are stronger and can't be beaten by conventional means. Most superheroes can fight 1 on 1 with their villains but spiderman can't and actually has to think to bring them down. Hes just one if those characters thats so full of personality, color and breaks the comic cliches that hes almost impossible not to love
Exactly man visually spideys comics and shows have always been stunning to look at! Even with characters like hobgoblin too with his bright blue and orange. It’s just blind to catch the eye of anyone!
Excellent video. Thank you for sharing how you became a Spider-Man fan on a personal level. Very nice presentation. I'm like you, but 40 years earlier. Spider-Man was always my # 1 as I was an original nerd and started following the Spider-Man story in 1969. Primarily because of the "Spider-Man" 1967 cartoon. I was born the year before Spider-Man's debut in "Amazing Fantasy # 15" in August 1962. My best friend was born August 3, 1962, and he's the same age as Spider-Man. How cool is that! I liked the original "Ultimate Spider-Man" run and thought Peter Parker/Spider-Man should have been a power couple with Kitty Pryde/Shadowcat. It was an alternate universe. However, the ending of that comic was terrible. First, we're led to believe Peter Parker/Spider-Man dies at the hands of the Green Goblin. Enter Miles Morales to take his place. Then it's revealed in a later Miles Morales mini-series that Peter is alive and with MJ. He teams up with Miles Morales and defeats the Green Goblin. Peter retires and passes the mantle to Miles Morales. Why? He's in his early 20s or late teens. Peter Parker/Spider-Man would never do that. This is why I feel Peter Parker/Spider-Man will eventually be replaced by Miles Morales in the Earth-616 universe. Marvel did the same story in the "Spider-Man 2" and "Spider-Man Insomniac" video games. Marvel has been pushing derivative, gender-swapped, and race-swapped versions of their main characters for quite a while now, and most of these characters have failed. Or other characters like Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel who have failed repeatedly. It seems Marvel has finally had success with Miles Morales. I don't call him Spider-Man because he's a derivative character who fights the same villains as Spidey and the ultimate sacrilege of having a girlfriend named Gwen Stacy./Ghost Spider/Spider-Gwen This is what Sony is doing in the "Spiderverse" movies. I acknowledge the movies have been very successful, but he's not Peter Parker. Why isn't Peter Parker/Spider-Man from Earth-616 in these movies, but Peter B. Parker is? Miles is supposedly getting his own rogues gallery, but it'll take time to establish this gallery. Greg Wiseman just released "The Spectacular Spider-Men #1" (TSSM) highlighting the adventures of Peter and Miles. All of a sudden, Peter is older in this comic. This is supposedly a continuation of the cartoon, It does have Kenny Kong working at a Coffee Bean. The Coffee Bean was where Peter started going with Gwen Stacy in "ASM" #53" as Flash Thompson was leaving to go to Vietnam. The 1st place they hung out was the Silver Spoon in "ASM # 44". This is two issues after the iconic "ASM # 42" when Peter finally meets MJ. However, I digress. The 1st issue was OK. Spoiler alert. Weisman had to put in the obligatory lesbian kiss where the two women profess their love for each other in a panel I thought was irrelevant to the story. I must have forgotten who these two characters are from the cartoon. Kenny isn't dating Glory Grant anymore. He's with a new GF. Supposedly Miles will date Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel in an upcoming issue. Gwen Stacy is going to go on a date with Peter. There is a rumor that Gwen Stacy is Spider-Gwen who will be brought into the Earth-616 main universe. How many characters is Marvel going to bring into 616? I'm concerned there will be too many characters and it will become bloated just like the CW's "Arrowverse". I don't know if this comic will overlap with "ASM" or not. I think it's supposed to overlap, but uncertain. As much as I'm not a fan of Miles Morales, I like the idea of him and Kamla getting together. I'd be interested in them guest-starring in each other's comic and becoming a power couple. This may be a way Marvel could generate interest in Ms. Marvel. if "The Spectacular Spider-men" fails, at least the idea was presented and could continue in "Miles Morales Spider-Man". If the current "Ultimate Spider-Man" (USM 2) is successful and has a long run, Marvel probably will replace Peter Parker with Miles Morales in the Earth-616 universe. If "USM 2" fails, then Marvel probably won't replace Peter. Yet, I like the idea of Spider-Gwen and Peter Parker getting together as a power couple. They can have a relationship, get married, she can guest star in the "ASM" comic and "TSSM" comic. I think this would be a fantastic idea. Will Marvel allow this storyline? Probably not. Anything would be better than the Zeb Wells run. Would Zeb Wells incorporate this story arc into "ASM"? Highly unlikely. I also know younger fans are huge Miles Morales fans, and think Peter is too old for Spider-Gwen, but this is the multiverse, so just bring a somewhat older version of Spider-Gwen to be his GF. MJ and Felicia Hardy's relationships with Peter seem to be over permanently, so why not. Throughout the decades I have liked a lot of the characters in DC and Marvel. My big 4 were: DC's Superman and Batman and Marvel's Spider-Man and Captain America. My friend was a huge Superman fan and we'd debate who was better Spider-Man or Superman. Great debates back then. Spidey will always be my # 1. I looked forward to Friday Nights as a kid through my late 20s as a store in South Philadelphia PA called "Gloria's Sweet Shop" would get in new comics that day of the week. It was 3 blocks from my house. When I was older, I would walk home from work in Center City Philly, so I could see the store as I approached from a few blocks away, and I could feel the excitement of what new Spidey stories there would be or a continuation or conclusion of a story. Those were exciting times for me. I stopped collecting in 1993 and moved on to Sci-Fi, Murder Mystery, and classic novels. I read the Dune series by Frank Herbert and sci-fi from Issac Asimov, Chalker, and Clarke. My favorite authors are Dickens, Dumas, Rice-Burroughs, and Steinbeck. However, Spidey with the other Marvel characters along with the DC characters will always be cherished from my childhood until I grew up. Great time for me. Thanks again for sharing. It was a great video. Keep up the great work. Cheers, GMan.
Hey thanks so much for the comment! I appreciate all the kind words, this was in many ways my most ‘personal’ video to date. I’ve been going through a real though time and during it Spider-Man has been my beacon of hope, my light at the end of the tunnel for so many reasons. One being how he always deals with hardships yet always manages to get back up (I mean it’s something so simple incredible at the same time) I have to admit as I don’t like miles morales I stopped at the death of Spider-Man, I barely count that book as canon since how much it ruined all the hard work of the bendis/bagley era. Tbh to me the only issues of usm that matter is the ones with bagley as pencils. I’ve had a request or two to check out spectacular spider-men and I might just do a video on the real shit issues of the series since I’d be able to talk more about it but man another failure of a spidey series while trying to undermine Peter😭 I’m so happy that you got to experience probably one of the best feelings on earth being new (soon to be classics) comics hitting your local comic store shelves! What I would do to be able to go to that time and experience it!! Loved reading your story and thank you again for your support :)
Honestly ik this is your pov of why you love spider-man but u can’t help but feel like you just spoke for me and every spider-man that loves him just as much as you do.
I love that man :)
This video is soo underrated ngl !
Hey thank you so much :) this ones still one of my favourite videos I’ve ever made!
@@mnstash yeah man and ngl this is the 6th time i am watching this video and its sick!
Holy shit I really appreciate that!! I made it during a tough time (girl problems..Parker luck am I right) so it was a pretty emotional video
@@mnstash i can understand mann..... But gotta say peter always comes in handy when its a girl problem
Spider-Man along with Sailor Moon and... a Greek folk song were the reasons I started to write. My novel, The Scarlet Fighter: Hero which I finishing shortly contains a chapter that acts as a homage to Stan Lee's legacy.
Oh man that sounds so cool! Will it be an international release?!
@@mnstash It is my intention. I must find a publisher first. But I guarantee you, along with many comic book readers, will love it.
YOU DID IT STASH! THE BIG 1K! Let me just say that this video is the love letter to all of us lanky nerdy boys who wished we could web swing. Thank you
AHHHHH WE DID IT!! I can’t believe it im so happy man😭 thank you for the support!! Im so happy you liked the video it was a pleasure making it
Very emotional level.
As a long time web-head fan I loved your video!👍👍🕷
Thank you man 😊
Spider man is so great how do you not love him
Amazing video! :)
Thank you man :)
Great vid keep up the good work ps webhead forever 👏
Thank you so much :) ☺️
Awesome video. Love your story and hearing you share your love for spiderman
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I was a little nervous releasing this as I was in a tough period in my life but this makes it all worth it
I Love Spider-Man Too!
Love to hear it :)
Hell yeah man
Excellent video.
One being how he always deals with hardships yet always manages to get back up (I mean it’s something so simple incredible at the same time)
I have to admit as I don’t like miles morales I stopped at the death of Spider-Man, I barely count that book as canon since how much it ruined all the hard work of the bendis/bagley era. Tbh to me the only issues of usm that matter is the ones with bagley as pencils.
I’ve had a request or two to check out spectacular spider-men and I might just do a video on the real shit issues of the series since I’d be able to talk more about it but man another failure of a spidey series while trying to undermine Peter😭
I’m so happy that you got to experience probably one of the best feelings on earth being new (soon to be classics) comics hitting your local comic store shelves! What I would do to be able to go to that time and experience it!!
Loved reading your story and thank you again for your support :)
The Video is Great!
(Btw,
I can recommend to you try undertale, oneshot or omori.)

BTW are you gonna review amazing spider man #6 (milestone 900) next man like tell us what you feel about the Sinsiter Six adaptoid that ends up being a one off and theultra living brain character that is extremely a poorly written character in the story like it is a prequel to the unnecessary tentalce story from asm issues 27,28,29 and 30 are you gonna do it plz?
