you set the storage to just input, that why ur people are not using those sticks for huts . Thanks for the content!
I was omg! loooook you only have it on input, no output
I might not have noticed that just watching, but were I playing I would have noticed the ->[ ] vs. -> [ ] ->
I only saw what you meant so readily in the first few minutes because this comment was visible when I loaded the video.
plus it looks like he has a ton of rope
By the way, speaking of city builders: I recently found a channel where a city planner plays city builders (that's literally the name of the channel). He doesn't just build stuff in Cities: Skylines, he also explains how and why stuff is done in real life.
I'm not affiliated with the channel in any way, I just thought that you might find it interesting.
Here's a link to the start of one of his cities:
ua-cam.com/video/2h-Qwh-yzO4/v-deo.html
I love his channel.
I find it very interesting thank you!
I HOPE, this doesn't go the route of Dawn of Man and has you blast through these eras to get to the 'iron age'. I want each era to be super fleshed out and detailed. Release an expansion per era if that's what it takes. People are buying these games because they're fascinated with imagining how ancient man lived. So don't skimp!
Yeah: brass age
fuck that shit iron to steel age
If you ever played spore, they did something like that
@@calebdye2959 there was beta game by a guy who did a video on T-REXS do they have fathers

The cost against the lack of depth is pretty disappointing considering its been in development for 3yrs +
Yeah the cost is ridiculous. If it took them that long to get this far it'll probably take another year or two at least for them to make this a proper full game. I hope they manage to pull it off, because it looks so promising. But damn, they are taking a lot of time and a lot of money O.O
@@ronnychristenjoyer6778 I have never made a game to this Extreme, I made small ones for me just to play. But that took me like a year to make. So something this big might take longer, also depending on the team they have. They may only have like 3-4 people working on it. Which will take them a while to make. Not saying the price is fair, but why it’s taking so long might be why
@@bigteam1000 yeah
But there is no gameplay, just putting assets, no research, no progression I was bored after 1 hour playing and really disappointed, from what I saw 3 yrs ago in the trailer and now I can't see any difference, not much progress, if it took them 3yrs for 0.2 apha version, imagine? Maybe 5-10 years for 0.8 beta and 15 for full release, the problem is that the devs are only 2 men, if they were 10-12 then the game will be finished in 2 yers
@@hitleposixv167 2 men dev team or not, Manor Lords is a single man project and still looks more polished than AC.
I saw it was $50 on Steam. That seems pretty damn expensive for an early release, unfinished game.
Never ever buy an early release game unless the *current state* of the game is worth its *current price*.
@@hkr667 I just bought Endzone last night for $25. It's still "Early Release" but at least that game has been out for almost a year and is close to being finished. $25 seemed reasonable to me. It said on the Steam page the devs will charge more once the game is final. Since it's pretty much close to that, I figured I'd go ahead and get it. I agree with what you said.
If this game was that cheap being this early, I might get it also, but they want full price and there isn't that much content yet from what I saw in this video, so definitely not worth it. Too expensive. 👍🏻
It's basically paying $50 to be one of their alpha/beta testers
Manor Lords looks more polished than this and that is made by a single dude.
@@nickdentoom1173 manor lords isn’t even out yet lol
Spent 40 minutes looking at some storages filling up slowly. Wow, that's one engaging gameplay right there. Except for marginally better graphics, I haven't seen a single thing that makes this game worth the amount of money they ask considering there are many other cheaper and content full games.
"i shot my self in the foot and now imma cry about it" why watch if you're so bored also please tell me the names of the other cheaper more content games im legit asking as these are games i like to play
@@dimic1777 dawn of man
A major yawn. From what I've seen I would play this if it was free.
@@dimic1777 as for Stone Age, it is Dawn of Man, with all its flaws. As for other builders, Raptor named them in the beginning of the video. Cheaper and more fun, even when they were in early EA.
@@dimic1777 I watched so I can make an informed decision. I would've been an asshole if I would've complained about it without watching, no? Also, do your own research on what are those other better cheaper games, I'm not wikipedia.
Hey guys I found out that to get plant fibers or other vegetables to crop , in the crafting option we need to craft first the biface a tool to crop or cut. Then in the left upper corner next to gather icon is the scythe icon to use to make a command to your villagers to crop the desired areas that you want. I was waiting for so long before I figured it out haha i was checking the storage and no plant fibers are being stored 😂
many people commenting on cost, and I must say that I agree with them. I'm from Brazil and I receive all the prices higher than you guys and some early access are just ridiculous. But this seems a new practice on games. For you to have an idea, the back for blood ultimate edition or something like this will cost HALF a national minimum wage.
Comprei este jogo meses atrás... guarda seu dinheiro. Este jogo é merda por agora. Espera um ano pelo menos :\
@@OMamifero vlw cara! Eu vou comprar quando tiver com tempo o dawn of men.

To defend nothing from no one, oh well. I really wanted to see that house completed too.
A plus about building in france that you didn't cover, you don't have to worry about your villagers hygiene.
PLEASE KEEP PLAYING. THIS GAME IS SO COOL THANK YOU

“This is what early access gets you”
Me: it’s $50. Early access or not I expect a polished game for that price. I was one of the suckers that gave them $50 years ago when the game was first announced. I’m pretty disappointed at this point. I hope they deliver on my expectations.
Same. Hopefully it gets more promising
You ruined the comment by saying “me:”
YEARS?? and this is it?
@@amydartist9209 2016 or 2017 it was kickstarted. i backed as a lord and i am sooo dissapointed in 3-4 years and hundreds of thousands this is what they managed to scrounge together. 50$ for this is horrendous as its meant to be EA if 50 is the release price the EA price should of been like atleast 30$ maybe 25$ if its this early Lol. Not harping on people who want to support it i just ever since i played the pre release as i backed as a lord it was just sooo bad xD
I was also a kick-starter. And was a little disappointed at the three year wait. But I am glad I have holidays to spend trying to get into this game.
after playing a couple of hours I think I'll check back in a year or two. it's not a bad start, but it's more like a tech demo than a game at this point. something I'd expect someone show for a pitch, not after years of development.
If the game is still around that is.
Don’t know if you’ll see this. But it’s 2 years later. Give it a go
@@Henry-xu5jg good idea!
Been following this for years. I'm very excited... but super cautious.

Ya, na....fuck that...50 bucks for an EA? they're out of their fucking minds....
Dawn of man better
Потенциал у игры огромный, выглядит очень интересно. Если разработчики будут продолжать её развивать, с таким же скрупулёзным подходом, то можно и хит получить. Всем, кто прочитал этот коммент, здоровья и удачи!
Finally! immediately checked Steam, saw the big disappointment, insane high price for a early acces, i'll pass
I mean would you pay $50 for the finished game? You can buy it to support the devs and the game and come back to it when it’s been worked on more
@@GhostInPajamas Not really a fan supporting "broken" games that only have a playtime of 30min, I'll rather wait and buy it when it works, or even better, why aren't they sharing a free demo? That would be a good way to gain trust imo
@@only_the_best_stuff5706 I see what you mean, but this is an indie team, and this game is early access, so a broken unfinished game is expected. I just chose to support their development, if nobody buys it then it’s gonna fail, but I think this could be way better than Dawn of man if they get enough support
@@GhostInPajamas Problem is that i never buy EA games, because the devs can easily grab the money and abandon the game when they feel like enough people have bought it. AC doesn't even look properly polished. Dawn of Man graphics were better and what i have seen from Manor Lords trailers, which is a 1 person project even, even they feel more polished than AC EA.
@@GhostInPajamas yes but the number one huge marketing mistake they have made is the price! your points are correct they are a small team and need the money to continue so why did they not take 20 mins to look at the price range of games in the same genre and match theres accordingly they stated in a steam forum it is an exclusive niche game ..anyone with common sense or anyone that has seen their fair share of earlyaccess knows that low price of 20 or 30 AUD is what keeps these mostly empty games going in the start till the content rolls in they have made a huge mistake IMO and it could be the end of them TBH
"How can you be clumsy and smart at the same time?"
Thinking about A. Einstein. Good at tennis and figure skating? Probably not. Good at figuring out the universe? Hell yeah!
Ohhhh LOOK! Debris from floodwaters! The perfect place to build a settlement.
for 70AUD no thanks how could you promote this cash grab the devs are literally blocking people for questioning the price
I had a dream about this game. I was one of those settlers and I fought with a rock against people with bows. It was some weird sh*t, brother.
You played too much man too much.
Must have been a short dream. lol
I will save my 50 dollars and keep playing dawn of men until this is polished off better.
The prob with dawn of man is the lack of good maps
@@Forlfir Check out the Mod community they have a few good maps out there.
@@jeffreyhei7038 still meh. The realistic stone age mod is good but even I was able to modify it to find better seeds. I don't get why they don't release a map editor, it'd be much simpler
Ill wait for it to be on sale. Maybe a year or so.
Same, I was expecting a £15-£22 game not 50 bucks
It's finally here
Yep
I appreciate the upbeat outlook. I was watching Skye spend his stream ranting about how unfinished it is. If they continue development in 2-4 years this will be one of the best on the market. (IMHO)
"Hardcore Realistic Ancient City Building" It's so hardcore that you have to survive with 3 huts, a dryer, fence, storage and some other crap that does nothing. Quite amazing after 3 years in the making of this game. *clap*
This comment should be 📌
Also read that it's over-priced on steam, What a shame... Great Potential.. failed delivery! 😕
Really cool how the geography & climate changes overtime. Doggerland is so cool!
This is why you save before trying out the wall feature... just reload after. 😁
I've also learned a few What Not to Do: large storage spaces, many constructions, immediate walls.
As interesting as the game looks, it might be years before it's price is acceptable... assuming it's ever completed. Sounds worrisome so far.
Hope there's more videos coming soon!
I'd like to see a feature when in early days your settlement has always to travel to where the food is. Build a settlement, eat up all the food, leave all the waste there and move on.
The circle of life...
im just saying there had been permanent farming settlements in Mesopotamia and turkey for about 500 years before this settlement, it would defiantly not of been the first settlement.

Duuuude- your building placement is as if you're trying to fit a bookshelf in a very confined water closet :) Use the space!
A map of Europe at 10,000 BC is going to look very different from the one they chose. In particular, Britain and Europe would still be joined by a substantial land bridge known as "Doggerland", connecting the modern day east of England with Belgium and the Netherlands. The Channel was at that time an estuary starting where the Rhine, Thames and Scheldt river systems converged.
what are you talking about?
Their map at 10000bc has doggerland...
If your talking about the first minute of this video its 6616 bc.

@@spartancanuck No worries mate
I like your more positive outlook on this. The game looks really pretty, so I like that. You can kinda immerse yourself in it. But I agree with someone else on here, right now it feels like a demo. And the price on steam should reflect that.
I'll wait for this to get an update.
The one thing I always see you do with city builders, is you try to build everything at once and then wonder why its taking so long and nothing is built.
You should do a 4 hour timelapse and compress it into a 30 to 45min video while you narrate about neolithic era human history in the style of Morgan Freeman.
The price tag is one of the most outrageous price tags I've ever seen for a practically alpha early access game. What the hell were they thinking?
Seems to work with other unfinished games, same as pre-ordering in the millions by the gullible.
Just one big fake game to become millionaire, be vague about refunds and cover yourself for eventual lawsuits.
"Wolves and bears and other things.... like the IRS to fight. Real dangerous to life" Dude you really crack me up. LOL
I was looking forward to this. Another game that I can't wait for is Sapiens. But that will be another year or so.
I hope that, there's actual like events depending on each season. When the winter freezes over, and in the spring it can flood, or with heavy rain. So it sort of gives player reliable water and food, but also is a huge risk to build near it as rivers are VERY scary.
Looks good this game keep it come love the play though
I see a lot of people complaining, considering this is probably an indie game , 3y of development isn't really that much.
The game has very nice environment textures like water , trees , rocks and stuff, it looks nice. As for the game mechanics, well it's alpha, what exactly do you expect people, the devs do need a lot feedback afterall
Lol. Lets clear all these sticks from flooding and put houses there... in a flood plain... where the sticks were.
:P
This game looks pretty buggy and laggy to be honest...and how long does it take to build a god damn tepee????
@@zefft.f4010 That says something about the game not the player. How can someone play a game wrong? It's a game. Raptor is a good gamer, it's the game that sucks.
@@cheryldahl9192 Well, part of it with these games is learning how the systems work. Occasionally, it can be frustrating to watch, but mostly I enjoy watching him learn it, saves me the trouble when and if I pick it up myself ;)
I've been following this game since they announced it a few years ago. I'm not sure, but I think they had a setback and had to start over at one point. So I'm glad to see that they are on track to continue with this. I'm not happy with the price... this is an alpha. It doesn't need to cost that much. $20 is fine. But $50? No... I'm not paying for this until it's more complete.
I agree with what others are saying on the price. But It really really love what I am seeing for this game so far. Part of this is that I am looking for shunter gatherer simulator more than a city builder. Though others have called this game "boring", I really like the realism of how things take time. And you kind of learn as you go from the ground up. I feel like the controls seem simple enough to grasp from a perspective of learning and building your group of people literally from the ground up without being overwhelming.
0:00 General Kenobi you are a bold one
Are you able to turn off all those icons? That completely breaks immersion having to see all of those as you play. Would be nice if you could toggle them on/off with a keyboard shortcut.
They r brutal
I see so many potential customers who wont buy the game now because of its insanely high price. What are they thinking? if the price was lower they would have sold so many more copies, especially before people could be detoured by the lack of polish and content.
"English Isles" ROTFLMFAO! got to love colonists!
I’ve never watched your videos before but I really enjoyed this, good job 👏🏽
This game looks like it has some promise, can't wait to give it a try.
Dont even boder to play it,becouse this or any other 'civilization builder' aint based on real history facts, neither it contains anything legit. And most important chapters of human history in this kind of games are fake, and the most important nations are not even mentioned,or they are not even a part of the game. You see i have get upset when he has move timeline in settings to 6000BC,why you ask.Well its becouse the most important chapter of human history are the slavic people, whos are first white people that has created bronze, pottery, writing, agroculture, culture, and religion in the time of 6000BC.You see people have prove it that agroculture was not created in the valley of half moon in israel, but on helm pennisula where condition where perfect, and slavic vinca culture were growing.Another dissapointments in this kind of games are shortage of human tribes, and theirs uniqueness,i mean dont you want to play the game with actuall tribes that has existed in 6000BC.I mean realy, they have show 6000BC as the most primitive era of human history, when 9000 years earlyer or 15000 years ago, slavic aryans have emigrated to india, china, japan, persia, europe, and north america, and bring swastika with them.PS:That is what you get from 'western academia' that have not yet translated phestoist disc,or the etruscan script, but the russians did.MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW 2021,BUY YOUR SELF PC GAME CITIES SKYLINES ITS BETTER THAN THIS SHIT.

I honestly thought it said 125 'C for a couple seconds until I saw the .
Keep em coming eh!!
Hell ya! A new series!!!
One major thing I'm missing right from the start is a lack of an ability to dig ditches. Ancient humans dug ditches around buildings for drainage and used ditches to mark boundaries and to make animal enclosures. Ultimately ditches would also be used defensively. If you had a wall there'd be a ditch around it.
For anyone considering getting this game. As someone who played, I can tell you with clear consciousness that this game in its current state is not worth nowhere near $50 asking price.
At best this is a $5-10 game.
My reasons:
1) Extreme lack of content, the game basically is a 30 minute demo thats asking $50 from your wallet to try it out. The content is simply not there. Hunter gatherer game with no actual animals to hunt.
2) Horrible performance optimization, they made their own engine that needs a lot of work, i get sub 30 FPS and if you use fast forward you will go into single digit FPS. My GPU and CPU usage doesnt even hit 40% (at most) suggesting the game simply doesnt utilize PC resources properly.
3) Game is already 2 years overdue on FULL release, and judging by what they have shown in this "early release", it will take them another 10 years to deliver a proper game.
4) Current version of the game doesnt even include all the content they have shown in their kickstarter campaign. Suggesting this might be another Kickstarter scam campaign, but lets give them the benefit of the doubt on that one.
Anyway, save your money and time and check the game out in few years and see if it improved.
Thanks for the update. This was my suspicion, sadly. Hopefully a couple of years from now something rather nice will spontaneously appear but I'm deeply sceptical.
I cant wait until multiplayer comes
