There solution was to put it on sale and earn more cash. Becsuse instead of fixing the rubber banding. They put in updates and put it on sale to draw in new users
the aggravation has ALWAYS been the one shot , the cycle has always been, you get one tapped, you sigh, you go through the ferry doors, you get one tapped in the back by a spawn point camper. you sigh harder, you go through the ferry doors , you get one tapped in the back again , you swear, you go through the ferry doors , you get one tapped again, the enemy gamer words you and laughs, you close the game down. saying one taps have never been the aggravating factor is pure unfiltered cope.
Board, deftly bob and weave with expert sword hops, get one tapped. Get boarded, shoot the boarder climbing the ladder, get one tapped. Sigh, equip the blunderbuss. Board, one tap a guy, get one tapped. Get boarded, one tap the guy. Or get one tapped if the one tap doesn't register.
sounds like a skill issue "saying one taps have never been the aggravating factor is pure unfiltered cope." ironic a pro tip: if you see someone pulling out a blunder, or if you get killed by a blunder... dont sword lord in their face... just.. think about what happend for a second and if going melee is a good idea
This is 100% true! Honestly I had no idea blunder had a knockback until I watched the dev video. Because? Because I get one shotted. When I return I peak out of my lower deck only to get one tapped again. Actually I think the idea of no being able to instakill people will add more "skill" into combat. You now actually have to think how to really kill enemy. Will you shoot then bomb? Shoot and swap weapon? Will be enough justto knock them out? Will you reload? So you will now have to use your head instead of instakilling people. I guess people are angry because they will now wont be able to abuse people and UA-camrs wont now have those nice insta kill crew clears.
I’m literally never knocked off the ship by a blunder, one blunders have always been worse. Don’t really know what Falcore was even discussing there but I respect it.
3v3 could work well as an hourglass thing including the story. Each team has a sloop, brig and galleon. If you survive you get the earnings like normal.
Just play Hourglass, since the devs clearly think a 1v1 premeditated fight is more fun than a pirate mode where pirates pirate against multiple pirates.
no hate, but thats LITERALLY a skill issue mate. getting better at pvp is key to combat of any kind. you cant complain when a more skilled players boards you and is able to distract you or even kill you so you sink. ive been playing for 3 years and i have 2000 hours. ive never had a problem with it because i knew i would get better. players now adays just wine and complain about it to the point where rare starts completely removing the competitive side of sot. instead of fixing hitreg, and removing cross play. putting xbox players agaisnt PC players is the dumbest idea any person can have. you are putting peaple aiming with thumbs against people aiming with their whole arm. nonsense.
im so confused, im refering to the fact that when a player boards its almost always up to the server that decides who wins. Rarely is it a skill issue. Im good at hand to hand but at its current state its almost unplayable, I used to love boarding but right now player held weapons never work as intended. Ive been around this game since day one, over 5000 hours played I have proof of it. just a quick glance at my profile will show I've been playing and have been doing hand to hand for a while.
As someone who primarily uses sword/blunderbuss, I think these blunderbuss changes just make sense. Having a one shot button, while nice, honestly didn’t feel right for the kind of game SoT is. I think trading some of that damage for additional knockback is fine
Hearing Captain Falcore do gymnastics every video to say "BALANCE UPDATE BAD" is so exhausting. It was a good update, full stop. Just because one is "so good at the game that they haven't been spawn camped in years" doesn't mean spawn camping has disappeared... He always views things from a veteran player perspective which always seems tired of the game
bros deff new them changing the guns is stupid especially one like the blunder if everybody good at the game nobody is this game mechanic is stupid the only thing I think is good is the more knockback
@@challengingcheetah7495 wait till they fuck up the other guns. Like I don't mind the blunder change cus u can still 2 tap people pretty consistently and the knockback is good fun. damage nerf is a bit too much imo. pellets should still be 10 damage, but it just shoots 9 if they really wanted it removed. but what they're doing to sniper literally has no positivies.
I've always used the Blunder as a defensive tool on the ladder anyways. So long as it stops boarders from getting on my ship, I'm perfectly fine with the change. I'm also sick to death with getting one-blunderred, especially when getting spawn camped, so i think this update has been nothing but a positive win.
It’ll be funny how blunder users will probably try to stay above deck instead of running below now. In my opinion, the change will be fine. The game has survived worse, I wouldn’t be surprised if the knockback is reduced. One blunders are incredibly inconsistent anyway.
@@necrosaro710 Where’d you get that from? I just said I was fine with the change, but I’d be completely fine if they didn’t change it. I’m not a blunder user. Why pick a fight?
@@thecoolaxolotlnova8523 Yes, but with people complaining about how the knockback is going to be too far (even though the update isn’t live yet), I wouldn’t be surprised if they nerfed it slightly.
I personally don't mind the balance change as something that I found frustrating with the blunder and why I stopped using it personally was it never seemed to knock the opponents off my ship; even if my nose was firmly planted in their behind. I turned to blunder bombs as they are just simply more efficient on keeping borders off. I do agree though that they need to focus more on the game's stability, the more they neglect it, the worse it will keep getting until the game will be actually unplayable. Which sadly for some folks that is the case already what with the multitudes of crashes.
then go to safer seas lol. or do alliance servers. this game is literally made for pvp. cant handle that, then uninstall you have no reason to be here.
I’ve played this game for years. I love the pvp aspect of the game, but the issue I’ve always had was the ability for people to sit on a ladder on bigger crews while I’m all by myself trying to get on. The new knockback is something I can see being an issue still, but at least I won’t immediately be sent to the ferry. Additionally, sweaty players are able to kill people the second they spawn with a one shot blunder, something I’ve always found unfair. I am guilty of using this technique. Making players switch to another gun to kill the person makes it harder for them to kill upon the immediacy of spawning, and two, potentially gives a chance for someone to dodge and heal back up. Even though hit reg is always in the game, it has gotten significantly better so the problem of missing the sniper, while it will be an issue, is going to only get better. Ultimately, I believe it will shake up the weapon meta and force people to explore more because it is currently impossible to win a fight unless you have a blunder in your inventory; a meta I have known since I started playing four years ago. I can’t ever be a less experienced player again; so, from my viewpoint, this is a great change. However, I’d love to hear opinions from others who haven’t had the game as long as I have.
The game is horribly unbalanced in a way that heavily favors larger crews. Rare needs to give solo players a way to counter the number advantage that doesn't require you to sweat 1000000x harder than the other team
@@haydenherman8656 no idea to be honest it is tricky. But I think giving solo players a HP boost for the player and their sloop ship could help. I'm sure if Rare really tries they could come up with something tho. Or a a single AI teammate that handles canons like they already do with the Burning Blade
I think this is a FANTASTIC change. I can count on one hand the times I've felt like getting oneshot by the blunder had anything to do with skill, and I find it infinitely more frustrating to get instakilled rather than just knocked off a ship. Most of the time in boarding situations the anchor is down before shots are fired so the water is an opportunity to heal, use throwables and play the ladder game - and when I do have to find a merm, even at its most elusive it feels quicker than the ferry. I think it's much healthier for pvp to have the only way to oneshot a player is to direct hit them with a cannonball, and now the blunder has a more specialized role rather than just being meta for offense and defense and everything in between. It's also a shadow buff to double barrel pistol as it now ties with blunder for max damage, so now you've got a choice between range and precision or CQC and boarding utility if you want max damage. AND ALSO, now I feel like there is actual room for skill expression with the blunder as shooting a knocked player out of the air actually does take skill and good aim as opposed to just pressing up against a pirate and sticking a gun up their @ss. Not to mention outside of the obvious necessity of a counter to the grapple hook, it also means if you run grapple+blunder you're meaningfully sacrificing damage in not having a secondary gun to finish people off. Getting grappled out of nowhere and instakilled would have actually made me quit the game for good.
I dunno how y'all can say the hitreg made blundy a non-problem and you can just respawn after getting blundy'd when I regularly get blundy'd by troll crews and then respawn-camped on my ship. It was every single boarding crew for me, consistently getting me one-shot, and my attempts to retaliate similarly were never no matter how many times I tried. I welcome this change and am happy that I can actually participate in PvP for more than 0.29 seconds.
As someone with lag issues frequently, I agree with this statement. Oh look, xxNoScope420360xx has boarded me silently and is now corpse camping me with the ability to oneshot me and I can't do anything about it because I have slightly higher ping than them.
this is what actually made my friend and i leave the game. my friend and i would just get spawned camped by trolls and nothing we did worked. we would have the scuttle and carry on, most of the time we didn't even have stuff on the ship and if we did we didn't care if people took it. we played for fun but the trolls and griefers is what made us stop playing, we had played since the game launched so it sucked.
Ull still get camped, u just won't get 1 shot, they will just blast u and swing once now with a sword. Stop letting them board, try blunderbus or blunder bombs to keep people off ur ship.
Can’t wait for you to complain again in a couple months because those same players will have learned to blunder then sword slash once and you are dead, the blunder nerf won’t stop high skill players from curb stomping you, it’ll just be 0.39 seconds before you die instead of 0.29 seconds
Someone mentioned that doublegunning is being hit even harder because of hitreg. Before, if your eye of reach hits but doesnt deal damage, you could still get the kill with a blunder. Now you can't, so if your first gun doesn't damage, you're cooked, especially against larger crews.
@@deltaray3012 I said hit reg, not miss. Sometimes in sea of thieves, your shot will give you a hit marker on your end, but the other player won't receive damage due to problems with the game. In this case, with these changes, a double gunner might lose a fight because the game is broken, not because of a skill issue. Why are they being punished by having their other option nerfed if the game decides that their hit doesn't count?
@@deltaray3012 Agreed, double gunning should be a thing just shouldn't be so god damn easy to just kill people with very little effort once your aim gets good.
@@Wuelfheze right, but it requires you to have good aim. Blunder/sniper will be replaced with double pistol/sniper. Good players will always destroy you with double gun. All this update does is make the game's horrible hit reg an even bigger problem for the people who are actually good at the game.
Skeet em back and follow up with with a pistol or whatever you're preferred weapon is. 💯 I don't think this is going to be a bad thing. One blundies were always unreliable with hit reg anyway.

As someone who uses the blunderbuss alot, I'm very happy with this. I use it both offensive and defensive. But while I will no longer be able to 1 shot someone, they also won't be able to do that to me anymore. Defending on my sloop will be easier instead of timing it perfectly.
The biggest bug me and my friends have been running into is when we come out from a dive (either pvp or raid or whatever) when we re emerge, our ship is put realllllly low into the water, like the water will clip over the boat and submerge you randomly on top deck. We dealt with this on a galleon and brigantine, and the only way I know how to fix it is by crashing into islands, but that doesn't even always work.
So, supposedly, the grappling gun is going to function like the Harpoon on players. This change is absolutely needed for this to work. Why? Imagine being across a Galleon deck, getting sucked over to someone, and then immediately getting one-shot the moment you land. No one can argue that this should be allowed (Not directed at you, Captain. Awesome video)
I actually hadn't thought of that. that would be OP. I am passive about these changes, and although i myself rarely use blunderbuss, i can no longer see a scenario where it is a good weapon for standalone use, and will probably even fall out of favor with double gun users too. it is a one shot reload, close quarters gun, that cannot one hit kill. think about that. it is now essentially on par with sniper and DB charge shot in terms of damage and worse in terms of range. which means DB pistol is unequivocally better in every regard. (exept ammo, but everyone camps ammo box anyhow) blunderbuss is now the worst weapon in the game and i don't think that's debatable. (im not complaining im just observing whats happening) the knock back is cool, but the blunder already had some knock back so it remains to be seen if this is a substantial change. so while this will probably make the skill gap even higher between me and casual players, I do mourn for the lack of opportunity to use my blunderbuss skins, at the same time i am exited to start using the DB pistol.
Servers definitely make blunders worse, and I have no idea how I feel about the knockback. However, I know for certain I will never be okay with the blunder being able to one shot at full health. Giving or receiving, for me, it makes the death feel cheated, and I feel like that regardless of how avoidable it was. Not even massive server desynchs make me feel cheated in the same way that a one shot weapon does.
2:43 honestly this clip its really hard after losing a 3 hour+ long Devils Roar stack, including my first ever BoWS, to rubber banding made me re-evaluate my entire stance on the game & got me to the point of uninstalling it for the foreseeable future
i don't really know how people are this comfortable with the knockback change. i mean, it's going to be REALLY annoying. i can imagine the new "defensive" blunderbuss being used to keep you off of your *own* ship once a boarder gets on, and while not being instakilled is sort of nice, i'd rather die than be trapped in mermaid hell, especially with how buggy the game is currently. honestly, i just wish rare would do something the game actually needs, like bug fixing, server performance, and cheating, but yk why do that when they can ignore almost all feedback.
Saying that most people dislike the blunderbuss due to the knock-back and not the one-shot is actually insane. I have never even ONCE heard someone complain about knock-back in six years of playing. You know what I have consistently heard complaints about? Boarding a ship to get one-shot because three players were all ladder guarding with a blunderbuss, sword fighting for someone to just suddenly swap to a blunderbuss and one-shot you, being spawn camped on a ship thanks to the blunderbuss one-shot. But yeah complain about a far more balanced weapon in the throwing knives (heads up: you can easily cancel out those "giant hit-boxes" with a sword block) instead of the single most complained about weapon since launch. I swear SoT partners always have opinions that make them sound like they don't talk to any of the average players.
1. You never heard anyone complain about knockback because it was fine the way it was. Now you're gonna be flung off your ship even if you're not on the edge of it. Have fun swimming for 2 minutes to get to a mermaid. 2. If 3 players ladder guard you at once, it won't matter if they use a blunderbass, sniper, pistol, sword, or blunderbombs. You're not making it up that ladder. 3. Blunderbass was made as a counter to the sword. You come close, you get rolled. And the sword is notorious for having a janky hitbox with a weird stun that makes it impossible to fight against if not using another sword or the direct counter (for example, using pistol-snipe). 4. Good point, being spawn killed immediately because someone just stood there or ran up to you when you couldn't even asses your surroundings yet, is completely bullshit. This is the only point in favor of the new blunderbass change. 5. Throwing knives (just like the sword) are janky, because: hit reg is bad (obviously), it has a bigger hitbox than a bullet (since it's a knife), it travels so slowly that the hitbox lingers in place for a split second. Combine it with server lag and you get an unintended area denial tool that you can spam. And not everyone carries a sword ofc, just the way not everyone carries throwing knives. 6. Have a nice day. (This is the best point)
False, the blunder is the ONLY defense against swords as swords literally suck players in and the blunder could then one shot them. Now when you get sucked in by a sword you cannot counter it
@@TKRepository my guy the blunder is the only counter to the sword vortex 😂 any experienced player knows that. i feel like this change was to make the double pistol have a more distinct place in the game? From what I understand there was no reason to use it because the range and damage of the blunder was just... better. I also feel like it may be more unclear how the harpoon gun will change things until it is actually out. Your point about being upset that they have not fixed bugs before making weapon meta changes doesn't make sense. From what I understand there are different teams within Rare working on different things so why would all other development stop until bugs are fixed? Also, opinions literally can be changed? That is the point of having a conversation about something you do not agree with
thats what im saying. its seriously not that hard to kill a boarder without knockback just snipe them on ladder and blunder them. you dont need to jus knock them back so they are of the fight for like 1 minute. this game is going downhill man
That's essentially what they did. The old blunderbuss was 10 pellets doing 10% damage each so that you'd take 100% damage if all pellets hit you. The new blunderbuss still has 10 pellets, but each now does 9 instead of 10, so if you nail all of them a player takes 90% damage. If you took 1 pellet away from old blunder, you'd have 9 pellets doing 10 damage per, for a total of 90% still.

It's about damn time, way too many free kills have been handed out due to it's ridiculous damage. They didn't have to make boarding louder or remove quick swap, these were both steps taken to avoid the actual problem--blunderbus' damage output. They either needed to nerf the damage/leave the knockback as is. Or leave the damage/remove the knockback Not take the damage off and buff the knockback that just relocates the problem. My issue was always the gun having the low skill of knockback if they missed the shot well. Like a fail safe if you miss your shot. Blunder has always been a ZZZ weapon for me.
@jaymcdude1291 ah yes the amazing response. Cause a weapon having a failsafe is not the skill issue. Cause blunder players need the failsafe if they miss their shots

I think also giving the blunderbuss' shooter a bit of physical recoil would be fun, not nearly as much as the receiving end, but still enough to distance two players.
Obligatory reminder that the Sloop should be 1,5% times the speed faster against the wind than all other ships. *_And for the Blundie:_* It was unreliable anyway. The oneshot mechanic was something for successful silent boarding or people with barely any lag. Won't miss it cause it never happened that much anyway.
I've always said that what really needs to happen is just make the Blunderbuss a lot slower to pull out and aim, because in my opinion the REAL frustration was when you'd walk up and sword slash a totally oblivious player in the back exactly one before they whip around and blunder you in the face in half a second. It should be a defensive weapon that requires you to be READY for defending, not the "oh shoot someone's on my boat, quick just murder them" weapon

Once the harpoon gun rolls in the meta is just going to become Harpoon-Blundie where both sides will be exchanging knock backs while hooking back to the ship.
Usually that errors either a file integrity error or a Microsoft account link error. id try to log out and log in, and if that does not work run a file integrity check.
Well question of a boarding situation in season 14. You're Launch on cannon for boarding but too high and then shoot with hapoon gun to board other ship. What happen if you miss the harpoon shot and hit player and not the ship , did he get grab and fly with you out of the ship like a normal harpoon ?

they need to lock the armoury on enemy ships so that if you want to use harpoon and blunder combo you are stuck with that until you return to your ship
I thought it would be weird to come back to the game without knowing what's actually happening nowadays, but holy hell, desyncs, lags, bad hit reg, it's like I'm coming back home
Changes on Blunder is actually good, people just talk like everyone likes and plays the game just for the boarding PVP, but it seems to me that everyone forgets those that play for naval PVP, so having a blunder that has good knock-back and don't kill you in one shot is very good for naval combat: silightly less annoying spawn-camping and less people on your ship... now, if they add the grapple gun like it's in the videos, than, goodbye naval PVP... I can imagine battles starting with the whole crew from a ship boarding the other at the same time, killing everyone and then, someone returns to ship to fire cannons while the rest just spawn camps... I also believe it is for the best to add more stuff that promotes the naval PVP, specially if they are adding the Grapple gun.

nice vid as always, i was thinking of ending my break from the game and play it with my friends, but i can see that its not time yet for that, maybe in a patch or two, so i will be going back to hunt showdown in the meanwhile XD
The lagging you showed at around 02:50 is what I've had for years, since the release, no matter what console, monitor or PC. Always and only on my account for some reason, no matter what WiFi or place I was at´. had me killed millions of times from players and PVE.
Really sad to see these comments, this games community used to be something worth being part of, now its almost worse than 2012 cod, i miss playing pirate with friends a lot more than random pvp for the sake of it like some budget shooter game with only 3 guns
Only things i want fixed are latency issues, easier finding of cross plat friends via an actual searchbar, more selections in the pirate emporium and base game, easier targeting with guns (half the time if feels like i miss because the bullet either goes within an inch of their hitbox or goes through them again due to latency), fix the stupid hitboxes of enemies and expecially players, fix the glitches eith just about every kind of interaction button, and make it where you can swimm onto a ledge eithout having to have a platform under your feet just to "walk" out of the water. If im trying to get out of the water, i sjoukdnt have to not go for the rock thats dipped below the waters edge but wont let me swim over and climb on top, just to circle around the whole island looking for a patch of sand
I hate the spawn campers and people with blundies just keeping me off the ship at all times. I can't defend, I can't play, I can't do anything to fight them back when they are on MY ship and on MY territory and it's frustrating too much and I'm happy to see something being done about it. Honestly great changes, but hopefully they've fixed up the issues or will soon cause those sync issues look damn awful and I wanna get back to playing the game once again.
I'm fine with the blunder being nerfed. On the rare occasion you get boarded by a hacker, they can't camp your hitbox prior to the respawn and instantly one shot you again.
I'd say it's much better like this. The 1 fear of double gunners is a sword spammer. Now you double gunners could use the blunderbuss to knock back someone with a sword to then finish them off with your sniper.
To be fair, SOT was never 100% Naval, the best way to sink someone has always been, Put holes in boat -> Board and prevent repair. While Chainshot Masts -> Death spiral is good too. i find that Boarding has always been more efficient, especially in muliti crew where a single cannoneer and appl npressure while the rest TDM on the boat
Everyone is focused on how the change effects Blunder users. But the real question is how Sword lords are going to feel about this. Blunder was already Sword's natural enemy because of One-Tap. Now it will be the best tool for keeping Swords away.
@@michaelvossen7253 it's fine because blunder user still has to hit their second shot, most of the time--let's be honest 90 damage is still huge output. However sword user has counter play now after being flung as opposed to automatic death and zero counter play.
@@Choom89 I'm not complaining, I just think other people are complaining about the wrong things. Sword is getting an indirect nerf and nobody has even mentioned it.

I hate hand to hand pvp, naval combat is beautiful but the second someone hops on my ship its game over
no hate, but thats LITERALLY a skill issue mate. getting better at pvp is key to combat of any kind. you cant complain when a more skilled players boards you and is able to distract you or even kill you so you sink. ive been playing for 3 years and i have 2000 hours. ive never had a problem with it because i knew i would get better. players now adays just wine and complain about it to the point where rare starts completely removing the competitive side of sot. instead of fixing hitreg, and removing cross play. putting xbox players agaisnt PC players is the dumbest idea any person can have. you are putting peaple aiming with thumbs against people aiming with their whole arm. nonsense.
im so confused, im refering to the fact that when a player boards its almost always up to the server that decides who wins.

I turned to blunder bombs as they are just simply more efficient on keeping borders off. I do agree though that they need to focus more on the game's stability, the more they neglect it, the worse it will keep getting until the game will be actually unplayable.
Now you’ll just immediately be sent to a mermaid, making it longer for you to get back to your ship to stay alive! Great trade!
The game is horribly unbalanced in a way that heavily favors larger crews. Rare needs to give solo players a way to counter the number advantage that doesn't require you to sweat 1000000x harder than the other team
@@chicolopes1928 how would they add somthing that larger crews wont just use as well or make playing in large groups not viable

@@chicolopes1928or they could make friends and play with more people 😂 instead of crying about being solo and getting crushed by bigger crews 🤔
What ladder game? you will be blown off everytime you touch a ladder. easy fire strat.

I've "emerged" entirely submerged several yards below the surface and had to maneuver that way until I dived again
The taste of blunder tears is sweet.
Amen brother, I love watching blunderbots cry

(exept ammo, but everyone camps ammo box anyhow)
blunderbuss is now the worst weapon in the game and i don't think that's debatable.
(im not complaining im just observing whats happening)
the knock back is cool, but the blunder already had some knock back so it remains to be seen if this is a substantial change.
so while this will probably make the skill gap even higher between me and casual players, I do mourn for the lack of opportunity to use my blunderbuss skins, at the same time i am exited to start using the DB pistol.
2:43 honestly this clip its really hard after losing a 3 hour+ long Devils Roar stack, including my first ever BoWS, to rubber banding

i don't really know how people are this comfortable with the knockback change. i mean, it's going to be REALLY annoying.
i can imagine the new "defensive" blunderbuss being used to keep you off of your *own* ship once a boarder gets on, and while not being instakilled is sort of nice, i'd rather die than be trapped in mermaid hell, especially with how buggy the game is currently. honestly, i just wish rare would do something the game actually needs, like bug fixing, server performance, and cheating, but yk why do that when they can ignore almost all feedback.
Yea pretty much..
This has been desperately needed for years, the blunderbuss was always supposed to be defensive, not meta offense.

@@MysticalProductions332 I agree that it's a skill issue to rely on 1-shots. There are PLENTY of other options besides the sword as well.
I think this change is fantastic. There are A LOT of players that have been getting by on that one-shot crutch.
It's about damn time, way too many free kills have been handed out due to it's ridiculous damage.
They didn't have to make boarding louder or remove quick swap, these were both steps taken to avoid the actual problem--blunderbus' damage output.
Frankly it should probably do 85 damage or have a longer reload time to actually balance it.
what they should do is nerf the sword if anything, the blunderbuss damage makes sense, show me a video of someone surviving a point blank shotgun blast.
@@curedanxiety1679 Fortnite has probably the best gun balance meta so lets use that.
Shotgun can only oneshot you if it hits on your head
@@curedanxiety1679what a horrible take... sword is awful and blunder dealing 100 damage with the current lag literally removed any skill difference between players by allowing for the most bs insta kills known to man.
@@Cqat1 "removes skill" while clicking left click requires so much skill right? also since you mentioned lag how about the fact when it's laggy the sword swabbie behind you facing the other direction still manages to hit or the fact when you're 4 meters away you still get swiped by a swabbie, yea so much skill.
Best case scenario would be to make the harpoon gun only have 1 shot before needing a resupply to balance out the constant knock back
They either needed to nerf the damage/leave the knockback as is.
Or leave the damage/remove the knockback
Not take the damage off and buff the knockback that just relocates the problem.
My issue was always the gun having the low skill of knockback if they missed the shot well. Like a fail safe if you miss your shot. Blunder has always been a ZZZ weapon for me.
@@ShaggyJonJ sounds like a skill issue.

Obligatory reminder that the Sloop should be 1,5% times the speed faster against the wind than all other ships.
*_And for the Blundie:_*

I think the buffed knock back on the blundy has just made it more effective as a offensive weapon.
I've always said that what really needs to happen is just make the Blunderbuss a lot slower to pull out and aim, because in my opinion the REAL frustration was when you'd walk up and sword slash a totally oblivious player in the back exactly one before they whip around and blunder you in the face in half a second. It should be a defensive weapon that requires you to be READY for defending, not the "oh shoot someone's on my boat, quick just murder them" weapon
should increase the weapon slots. 4 or 5.

I would like to see the knife onehit after you charged the knife attack 2 sec. A sound should indicate the full charge for attacker and victem. We need a sneaky weapon
Even though I see all the clips of this bugs and errors, me and my friend have never had this kind of problem, we all have Sea of thieves on the PC Xbox app and play and live in Spain so not sure if those problems are only in specific servers or what
Same here PC on game pass. The game has been running pretty smoothe lately. I only had one crash since season 13 launched. But, I'm pretty sure it was a faulty driver on my 7900 GRE. Cause after the next update from AMB I haven't had an issue.
I love his change 😊😊😊
I for one like the change. I find it most frustrating when someone boards and i miss the sound cue so the first i know if it is I'm dead. At least this way i have some chance. I also suspect they're trying to avoid the "harpoon someone to you then one blunder" meta
Once the harpoon gun rolls in the meta is just going to become Harpoon-Blundie where both sides will be exchanging knock backs while hooking back to the ship.
The one shot was definitely my biggest frustration, not the knockback
i cant eveb play cuz when i try to launch the game it says theres an error
What kind of error?
Usually that errors either a file integrity error or a Microsoft account link error. id try to log out and log in, and if that does not work run a file integrity check.
Well question of a boarding situation in season 14.
You're Launch on cannon for boarding but too high and then shoot with hapoon gun to board other ship. What happen if you miss the harpoon shot and hit player and not the ship , did he get grab and fly with you out of the ship like a normal harpoon ?
This is needed, my friend and i refuse to play open seas because we constantly get one shot by the blundy, and then get spawn camped. The knockback will be nice to send boarders flying off my sloop and leave me alone.
I know you lying bcs there is something like hitreg and blundy oneshot someone like 1/4 of times.
Get better little Ned.
@@mikailmasa no sir no lying here. On several occasions we would have someone board our sloop, I'd try to shoot them with the blundy, they take no damage, get up ladder and then one shot me. And by the time my Xbox is done loading the black screen, I am met with another one shot to the face. Can't really do anything against that so we just have to scuttle.
you're telling me you get camped 1v2 constantly and think that's a weapon issue? sounds like you and your friend might want to just play a different game
@@gamilith I didn't say it was a 1v2 did I?
One blunder HELPS breaking the camp. With that change, it will be tougher to break it. Think about it.
they need to lock the armoury on enemy ships so that if you want to use harpoon and blunder combo you are stuck with that until you return to your ship
Then theres me:
HOOORAAAAY! NO MORE ONE TAPS!!! HALLELUJAH!!! PRAISE RARE!

just wait till you start getting skeeted and hit off ur boat
I can’t say I’ve ever not looked forward to a sea of thieves update, but as it stands now I’m not looking forward to season 14 at all but I’ll wait and see how it is when it’s all out
I think it's a great change. You shouldn't be deckshotting and then wiping a crew with a blunderbuss.
@@Surfing_Pikachu Yes, instead the crew should be able to easily surround you and sword lord you to death even though they all suck at pvp

@@jonathan45732You can’t shoot people surrounding you with the current blunderbuss either. Also, there is a difference between sucking at tdm and pvp. Take me for example, I am pretty bad at tdm but if I get on cannons, your mast is going down and your cannonier is going to the ferry. Just because people suck at one part doesn’t mean they are bad at all of it.
I actually find it refreshing to have an anti-boarding weapon. Sure we have blunder bombs, but throwing knives and eye of reach are more than capable of damage output.
1 shot blunderbuss is toxic, anyone can bully anyone with that especially the cheaters. If cheaters can't 1 hit someone that is good enough.
while i agree the change is good, balancing because of cheaters aint it, the only balance against cheaters should be an effective ban system that you cant just make a new microsoft account to get around
Getting one shot has never been a problem
No more Braindead Blunder laddercamper standing behind a fruitcrate abusing this stupid oneshot mechanic.
Yes, instead, you'll get thrown clear from the ship and have to wait twice as long for a merm to spawn than you could waiting on the ferry! Or, the player climbing could release, and hip fire you, sending you flying off your own ship.
@@CaptainFalcore while this is probably true tho, I think if you just spam F you should be able to get on the ladder again, board and eat a pinapple.
And even if this is not the case, I prefer getting knocked miles away instead of getting oneshotting from miles away, this gun is too random rn.
@@CaptainFalcoreyep that's probably why the Blunderbuss is so annoying recently (the last 2 years). Indtability is crazy in SoT, from the Submarine hourglass fights, to super wierd oneball or the good old blundersnipe oneshot.

I have feel like the brazers at the top of skeleton camps might be contributing to all the lag issues (not relating to the burning blade because I'm experincing all the same issues whether or not ir's active), I say this because I've been looking at them with my spyglass from GREAT distances and like, it's a legit fully rendered brazer flame, from extreme distances, no way that doesn't affect the game in a way
The swords literally about to be SO broken.
The sword is balanced because majority of people dont know how to hop and just blend you which is counterable

if knockback pushes you in a predictable way it opens up combos with flintlocks

cant we all just sign a petition for rare to ignore a content update and focous souly on fixing the bugs and problems before we get a content season?
It would be cool if they add a throwable that makes your ship slippery. As a good defense against boarding
Really sad to see these comments, this games community used to be something worth being part of, now its almost worse than 2012 cod, i miss playing pirate with friends a lot more than random pvp for the sake of it like some budget shooter game with only 3 guns
Boarding an enemy ship has never been easier or more annoying because of crud launching and now soon to be the harpoon gun
This change seems like a bandaid way to deal with blunderbuss hit reg
This is awkward watching this now, when the Harpoon Gun not attaching to any ships other than Galleons and cant be used when launched from a cannon.
While Chainshot Masts -> Death spiral is good too. i find that Boarding has always been more efficient, especially in muliti crew where a single cannoneer and appl npressure while the rest TDM on the boat
i think this is one of the best changes theyve made, we'll see if the knockback becomes a problem.
