I'm glad you're speaking out. Most SOT UA-camrs refuse to admit how far the game has fallen from the 1st year anniversary. The SOT team's incompetence has finally caught up to them with the failure of Season 14's launch.
Not saying I'm happy about this, but I've been waiting for it to happen. Finally, normal people can see just how bad the game has gotten with bugs and nerfs and the devs inability to listen or fix the game. It's like all the problems that have been in the game in the past 2 years are finally being brought into the spotlight instead of a few people pointing it out here and there.
these issues existed 4+ years ago when arena was added and crossplay was introduced. but to be fair it was at least playable until 2022 even with all of the cheaters
The devs dont want to fix the game. The ones who talk to people in the steam forums make it very clear that they do not care. They want a buggy toxic wreck of a video game. They actively want to run off new players and keep a small toxic shithole that keeps whaling for the new skins.
Honestly I don't think you really understand the scale of what they have to update in terms of old content as there is a lot of stuff in the game that is old content that is broken and should have been fixed years ago. Honestly I would have preferred a whole season where the developers fixed bugs and read bug reports if not from all players then at least from insiders.
I was a brave vanguard, banned form insider when leaking the blunder changes, and now the game keeps on tanking. It's sad because it's the only decent pirate multiplayer game.
That’s the issue. With no competition (except S&B but we don’t talk about that) they can do whatever they want and still have players since you can’t go anywhere else. On pc Blaizing sails has less than 200 players and has tons of cheaters
I got banned for the EoR change. Except I'm not in Insiders and the blunder, DB, tk, and still not out EoR change were all things I suggested. After seeing them butcher my ideas with blunder I went on a rant warning about EoR and how it has to work exactly one way otherwise it'd be useless, and then got banned. They're a really shitty company.
I'm not banned and I'm literally modifying the game files for fun. I should be banned I've played 3k hours on a modded client and I'm still not banned. Please rare ban me I wanna quit this shit as game
This game must be suffering from major spagheti code. It’s getting to the point where doing any changes breaks a gazillion other things. It’s a shame they won’t do just a season completely focused on fixing everything. I don’t care how long it takes, if it just takes out all the bugs you’ll see this game atleast get back it’s original playerbase that they are losing rn.
The games performance being so bad probably has something to do with a last gen console still being supported for the game which it’s clearly outgrown. They need to drop Xbox one completely
Such a small thing but you are SPOT ON with the mermaid fruit thing. Like dude how hard was it to just make the uncooked version spawn your mermaid? would have been infinitely useful.
He totally missed the point of the merfruit and so did you. This is about tucking. This is a sneak season. Spam boarding is something totally different.
@@hegemon3 no, I didn’t. I understand that part, obviously. Our point is that the merfruit could have ALSO had a purpose when uncooked. As it stands, it’s just a blue pomegranate. That’s lame. A thing that spawns your mermaid is cool. And frankly would be huge quality of life update.
Yea that change will really positively affect solo Hg, not punish the players at all for going for dumb boards so the game won't be about naval anymore and it's just who is better at tdm
@@AustinsEdits there are better ways to do it. For now, this fruit must stay away from battle food because it may kill you if you waste time cycling through it. You take it only for tucking. They could have done it years ago, even at launch, and they decided not to. Pairing this with a merfruit is a bad idea

128 players came at the cost of the dynamic environment and was laggy af.but the reason sea of thieves suffers is because the game is old and has been lazily patched for years and its reached a breaking point
Also the summon merm idea could be worked into the merfruit cuz if its raw it will heal, when enchanted it makes the merm disappear but if u burn it THEN it summons ur merm RIGHT NEXT TO U and make it so naturally spawning mermaids spawn next to u instead of 5 mins away only to dissappear cuz ur "too close" to ur ship? Rare just let me use the merm regardless of how far away i am from my ship
Seasons were the worst thing to happen to SoT. Focusing on content over stability is just stupid and at this point the game would probably be astronomically better if the players were left in charge of what was added

I’ve been asking for an offline/singleplayer Sea of Thieves for years. I hate the player base and PVP games in general, but the game’s sailing mechanics and infinite random jobs (cargo hauling, treasure hunting, and skeleton bounties) are unmatched.
@@Merudiana-the-local-demoness There is a game on Roblox that I was kind of hoping was a singleplayer ish naval game. Turns out it just turns into pirate dragon bal.
@@saber2802 Personally I’ve been playing a game called “Salt 2” which is an exploration/adventure game on an infinite ocean with light survival mechanics. Similar to No Man’s Sky except pirate-y. Unfortunately the sailing only has the wheel and sail length, no turning, and the quests are more basic. But it does satisfy some sailing and exploration in a singleplayer game for me. No naval combat though.
These are really great points and ideas but what really sucks about this whole thing is that if Rare by the very rare chance they saw this video, wouldnt listen and would never even consider any of this....
I always wanted them to add your own fortress like a guild one or personal one and you could attack other people’s fortresses the biggest problem I have with this game is the fact that the goal is just to get cosmetics what if you could use your gold to level up your fortress and make it harder to attack and you could buy stuff for your ships to attack, just a random idea I always thought could be cool, and I’m glad to see someone talking about this because I’ve always personally thought that this game never really produced game changing content which kind of kills the game a bit, I’m all for the pvp and pve aspect of the game but there should be new ways to change pvp or pve
It's literally a crime that Sea Dogs Tavern is just rotting away and none of the "big content creators" will push Rare to do something about it. And 10000% about Arena. This video needed to be made.
12:45 me and my friends have always thought this for the longest time, if arena had other modes, like TDM, hourglass, plain arena, etc it would’ve had way more engagement. But instead of that they take it away from us
I’ve seen ideas of a guild hideout to serve as player progression similar to warframe clans where you can build it how you like and decorate it, probably with ship and unique decorations
I'm part of the Insiders Program and these were things talked about in the forums. We told them about these damn issues and they just decided to release the game the way it was. I don't even know the point of being an Insider anymore if they won't listen to us and release the live game broken.
@@Hyplivion YUP. That's what really pisses me off. They HEAVILY ignore us and then turn and blame us for not reporting etc when WE DO. The insider forums are a mess 100% of the time and they could give two fucks less. They only care about the money now and it damn shows.
The main issue is that the game is built on archaic architecture. It was made for a console that came out 12 years ago. That’s not to say Noob is wrong. They do just keep bloating the servers with content. If there was ever a time for SoT 2, it would be now. They’ll never do it. But it would be the best time.
@@Noobface idk how that drastically that would affect player base. Idk if they’ve even released those types of numbers regarding how many players there are on Xbox one, One X, Steam, and PS5. But, they could keep SOT 1 running while laying the foundation for SOT 2.
They could fix the servers if they wanted to. They would need to run servers with a higher tick rate. They are still using 12 tick servers which is not enough for anything. (Maybe for a chess tournament.) This costs money and resources, which they dont want to spend.
One thing I think sea of thieves desperately needs is a map change. One of my favourite qualities that drew me into sea of thieves was exploring islands, it made regular dig quests fun to do because you also got to check out every new island. But now every island has been discovered. Every secrets been uncovered, every Easter egg. It's not fun any more
I wish it was like other open world games where you could visit any area and find something to do. Without having a quest or world event at a given island, there is nothing to do on it.
not sure about that "animated" weapon cosmetics idea.... that just removes identity and places the game similar to that of other fps games who want your money (modern gaming). I can see how it could be good minimally but not long term
BIG rumor to be announced in 2025 is that the devs at Rare have plans to set up a dedicated team to tackle all of the core bugs and issues... ...oh wait, that was six years ago. ( ; Crazy how time works. Too bad the game doesn't.
Even playing in safer seas is just as laggy. We had a meg swimming in the air yesterday while two ghost ships fought each other. We didn’t take any damage but our ship sank. We just logged out after that afraid the voyage wouldn’t count anyway.
Well said. I’ve got thousands of hours, gold skelly, and truly love the game. For now I’ve mostly just given up playing though. It’s more frustrating than fun with the game’s performance problems
I get that online video games are difficult to manage but holy hell is this game a mess lately. I own a series x and I’m still getting black screens and game breaking lag. They should just start over and make a second game but somehow still let you keep all cosmetics and unlocks from the first game.
the lag part is so true, i will constantly have massive lag spikes where my ping shoot's up to 1100, if it could go higher i know it would cause i had it stay there for like 20 seconds this past weekend
There's one thing I've always wanted in SOT that I felt was missing since I first played the game, and that's same crew duels. Sometimes you just wanna duel your friends you know, would also be some good PVP practice. Could be as simple as having a friendly fire option feature you could turn on and off, or even as complex as a duel server where you and your friends can each have their own ship and duel it out that way. Currently the only way to fight your crewmates is to hop servers till you find each other on the same server, which is unhealthy for the game and overall really boring and tedious.
Absolutely agree with you, especially the lag part, also their miserable attempts at protecting people from toxic players, are they going to simply turn off chat in the next update?
fun fact: when i played sea of thieves a bunch of hackers decimated my ship and my crew died, and i got stranded on coral island, i lost my mind there and started going insane, plus i was forced to fend off any intruder. I also gave myself a title called "The Coral Monarch" :)
Many of the game breaking bugs that were present when this season launched were already patched on the insider version weeks before the season went live, yet somehow they made it into the live version which is rather odd and begs the question as to why ppl are even bother to reporting these issues and they still make it into the live version on launch
It was nice to see that you came up with really good suggestions which would fix the game whilst also catering to both new, PvP and PvE players and I strongly agree that the game needs to heal before making new content.
the games needs a single player campain NOT on a server, just an offline experience. Enought with the online service games that all they want is your money every month, we need a real games experience without the fear that one day the service will go offline and we will never be able to play our favor game even solo...
5:32 even Ubisoft does this for rainbow6 and that game is also going down a slippery slope, but even that brings people back to the game to test out new operators, and for people to look for bugs
I am so glad someone else mentioned it because I always thought it'd be best if the Mermaid had to be summoned with like a conch horn or something. As it stands they're still one of the biggest annoyances on the seas, never there when you need them but always conveniently right on schedule to ruin your tuck attempts. Just let me call the bloody thing when I need it.
Introducing this game to friends when the game is in this state is not easy to keep the boys coming back. Props to Drew though for being the whipping boy of Rare, that can’t possibly be fun.
I'm just sad we can't even say your name on the sea of thieves official discord server. like they wanna plug their ears to any good answers to the game's problems.
upgradable harbour would be sick... i mean that you can buy your own harbour and upgrade it further and further. maybe with passive money too like in gta
I joined that game a few months after the arena was removed, and watching gameplay of it really annoys me because it seems like a gamemode I would LOVE, but they had to replace it with hourglass, which isn't even the same and is unbalanced due to supplies. Bring back arena Rare!
I couldn’t of said it better myself. You have some really good ideas, a lot you said i’ve came up with on my own but for the past 5 years I’ve been trying to find ideas to improve the game. For people who play daily and spend countless hours on a game, the quality just isn’t there. Theres ways to fix it, rare just doesn’t like that way.
The lag was so terribly yesterday that my character feel through my ship down into the water, i was just trying to steer my ship and boom, down i went. Then after that my character froze when trying to manipulate the sails.
One idea I had was make HG have its own currency that you can use for sups and HG only cosmentics. Get rid of the gold from HG so people have to PvE or fight for PvE loot to get gold.
I founded a bug on the burning blade, if you walk between the grog barrel and the normal barrel, you just no clip the wall of the ship, they not solved this bug
I came back to the game from a hiatus since 2020. I literally played for 20 minutes and un-installed again because of the lag. The server can't handle everything they added. Is a shame
I agree completely. I used to play this game daily. Now me and the crew get on at the start of the season. And only play for like 2 weeks. Now. I miss this game.
I started playing towards the end of 23. I got pirate legend. Then pretty much never touched adventure except with the few random moments I wanted to do vaults or meme on merchants. And also did some reapers and fotd steals. But pretty much after I got PL I went to hourglass and never looked back. I love the pvp of the game so much. You can be so bad at fighting pirate vs pirate but be amazing at naval and still do very well. I wish they'd make hourglass more enjoyable. I stopped playing pretty much completely at the start of last season. But man I wish I could play this game for the first few weeks all over again cause honestly was some of my favorite gaming experiences
I quit this game in 2021. Back then you could get the entire server at a fotd or fof and have little to no lag. Seems like it was the right decision seeing the state of the servers
Is it bad to say that Skull and Bones has somehow been doing better than Sea of Thieves? They listen to fan feedback, have regular updates, provide a roadmap they stick to, and offer solid options for both PvE and PvP that don’t lock you out of content or content beyond certain points. Yes, we’d all love Black Flag’s full movement on islands and from our ship and sword combat etc, but they did advertise the game as one focusing on ship combat, even in the original reveal. In a way it fulfills that pirate “world of tanks” niche.
What I wanted the most with the grapple gun was to get on top of the headless statue in shores of gold talltales because I suffer the requirement of placing the ship perfectly and aiming cannon perfectly. However, grappling up to the statue is not possible. And in general, you can't tell what ledges or whatever you can or cannot grab on, which makes me drop the new "tool" and go on the usual way.

wow youre here too
They only care about making gold, nothing more, I just gave up
@@glowdonkWell im sorry but the Dark Adventurer skin and ship set is not going to unlock itself....
However, I see where you are coming from.
I have the opposite problem, in my servers no one seems to care about gold or commendations or anything besides spawning in on an outpost lol.
You are speaking facts here, people are still defending Rare its crazy.
Sea of Thieves needs to be reformed or remade.
Hi
Remade by a different company. SoT has potential but it doesn't seem like Rare has any.

no they just gotta stop making seasons 😭 ts isnt fortnite they need to just stick to one theme and keep it live service there destorying there own game
I'm glad you're speaking out. Most SOT UA-camrs refuse to admit how far the game has fallen from the 1st year anniversary.
The SOT team's incompetence has finally caught up to them with the failure of Season 14's launch.
how do content creators ALWAYS have better ideas than the game devs
Because content creators play the game and listen to the community for inspiration
because they actually play the game...
They actively want to run off new players and keep a small toxic shithole that keeps whaling for the new skins.
you, a single person, just came up with better ideas than the devs have in 6 and a half years
they need to stop working on brand new content and just update old things with better loot and new features
@@lamidou9998 tbh after S&B patch a basically infinite money exploit the servers more or less died and the grind is just to much
I got banned for the EoR change.
Please rare ban me I wanna quit this shit as game
why does such a goooood game belong to rare WHYYY!!!!!
You'd be banned from the official discord for saying any of this, too
The games performance being so bad probably has something to do with a last gen console still being supported for the game which it’s clearly outgrown.
@@hegemon3 copium
Having "call mermaid" item in food inv is bad. I'd rather have another tool, mermaid whistle available at all times in the radial. They could have done it years ago, even at launch, and they decided not to. Pairing this with a merfruit is a bad idea
Can't stop the fomo skins and battlepass system for game stability. Sorry 😂
Small seasonal money is better than improving the overall game for a larger audience to enjoy playing though!!!!!
If you open a support ticket for any reason, they'll copypaste the same answers you can find in the FAQ and close the ticket because "there are too many open" without any chance to progress with the support. They don't want to provide assistance to their customers.
SoT 2 would be awesome, but lets be honest, we're coping so hard RN
It's would only be good if progress and cosmetics carried over
@@gh0st0freach89do you say that about new cod or halo games too
It honestly probably wouldn't be hard because most of the stuff in sea of theives right now are just reskins
@@UndertakerFromWWENo because unlock cod and halo some sot cosmetics are insanely hard to get requiring thousands of hours and immense skill while cod is just if you have the skill
I'd like it if Sea Of Thieves 2 allowed us to actually join FlameHeart/Give the players the feeling of actually being in a faction or something. Since, it's a bit weird how you could be a massive Reaper yet immediately do a PVE quest that involves screwing over FlameHeart
lets be honest, rare only cares abt their emporium
You mean Microsoft only cares about the emporium
@@markov633 What happened to Minecraft proves that. Throw mods in the trash and turn a game into a glorified digital storefront. It's pretty gross, honestly.
Playing this game on the Ps5 is so fckn brutal. Constant lag and disconnecting. It's just not fun to play when you get disconnected 5-10 times a session
No wonder I don’t see anyone posting this game on YT anymore, no one wants to record this mess.
I’ve kinda hated the idea of a Sea Of Thieves 2 but honestly some of your suggestions like the modes make me feel more like it’s a good idea
Shame none of that is going to exist cuz that would require effort…
Its not even that they just make outfits
Its that they make outfits you cannot change.
Also masks are just eyepatches and rings are just gloves. Doesnt matter if they can be "on at the same time" if one just removes the other visually lol
They don't even need to add a separate item to summon mermaids. Just have cooked merfruit dismiss and uncooked merfruit summon.
That’s exactly what I kept suggesting on insider. Idk why they would release it as it is now
All of my friends quit the game and are done with it. So am I.
Serverperformance, lag, game breaking bugs. I love the game. But as long I see a launch like season 14 I am fine with never playing it again.
Rare need to get their shit together
And yes I did grind that shit. 100 Legends of the veil for shitty sword
also the quest board, currently useless, but with small changes could be very interesting
Forgot that existed ngl
Im always in shock how battlefield made 128 players a thing with hundred of explosions happening every minutes and building colapsing and tens of vehicules BUT the main xbox game with the infinite budget of microsoft cant get 10 players with 2 vehicules and 3 explosions per minutes
Focusing on content over stability is just stupid and at this point the game would probably be astronomically better if the players were left in charge of what was added
fighting on the burning blade is still the laggiest buggiest mess to this day. these servers cannot handle shit
weird for me it works fine all the time only hitreg sometimes but no teleporting or something like that its only with bad internet connection that you lag played comfortable with a 200 ping once
honestly I'd love a game like Sea of Thieves, but you have AI companions to be on your ship instead of people
I’ve been asking for an offline/singleplayer Sea of Thieves for years.
@Merudiana-the-local-demoness
I'll have to check it out sometime! Also cute profile picture, who drew it?

These are really great points and ideas but what really sucks about this whole thing is that if Rare by the very rare chance they saw this video, wouldnt listen and would never even consider any of this....
god i need an arena like that, TDM on an island would be perfect and would give me a good way to get better at my aim
Fax bro, thought my PS5 was factory defective, nah its just sot 😅
They did fix some of these issues but how tf did they make it into the main game unless they released the wrong build without knowing it???
@@P_uddlesSimple, they would have to put in effort…
and then they blame insiders for allowing these issues to get released in the live build.....
Well yeah if they made SOT 2 they would have to not release it on old consoles
@@Noobface idk how that drastically that would affect player base. Idk if they’ve even released those types of numbers regarding how many players there are on Xbox one, One X, Steam, and PS5. But, they could keep SOT 1 running while laying the foundation for SOT 2.
theres pretty much nothing redeemable left in this game
They could fix the servers if they wanted to. They would need to run servers with a higher tick rate. They are still using 12 tick servers which is not enough for anything. (Maybe for a chess tournament.) This costs money and resources, which they dont want to spend.
this video deserves more traction
One thing I think sea of thieves desperately needs is a map change. One of my favourite qualities that drew me into sea of thieves was exploring islands, it made regular dig quests fun to do because you also got to check out every new island. But now every island has been discovered. Every secrets been uncovered, every Easter egg. It's not fun any more
I wish it was like other open world games where you could visit any area and find something to do. Without having a quest or world event at a given island, there is nothing to do on it.
@@Nebby_smells sot 2 would probably have a new map
Amazing timing, servers are under maintenance again
not sure about that "animated" weapon cosmetics idea.... that just removes identity and places the game similar to that of other fps games who want your money (modern gaming). I can see how it could be good minimally but not long term
They already want your money and release boring cosmetics. Might as well make some good ones actually worth buying lol
@@Noobface I'm also now thinking in terms of gameplay if that gets in the way and also makes things lag more etc but also you have a point
BIG rumor to be announced in 2025 is that the devs at Rare have plans to set up a dedicated team to tackle all of the core bugs and issues...
...oh wait, that was six years ago. ( ;
Crazy how time works.
I don't understand how they justify making loads of emporium skins while their game is unplayable
this is a prefect representation for why duct tape fixing every bug is a terrible idea, it just leads to more later on
And I got a ship naming ban because of my country's slang, while in HG i fell against 4 cheaters in the 9 games I played.
Many great points mentioned here. I personally love your idea for a new and improved Arena and would love to see it implemented
So glad I quit this game
There's one thing I've always wanted in SOT that I felt was missing since I first played the game, and that's same crew duels. Sometimes you just wanna duel your friends you know, would also be some good PVP practice.
Could be as simple as having a friendly fire option feature you could turn on and off, or even as complex as a duel server where you and your friends can each have their own ship and duel it out that way. Currently the only way to fight your crewmates is to hop servers till you find each other on the same server, which is unhealthy for the game and overall really boring and tedious.
Love ur vids man keep uploading we need more often uploads and good content as always sending big love ❤️❤️❤️
great video man keep it up!
This video made me sub. Fantastic vid!
04:28 great point
It was nice to see that you came up with really good suggestions which would fix the game whilst also catering to both new, PvP and PvE players and I strongly agree that the game needs to heal before making new content.
the games needs a single player campain NOT on a server, just an offline experience.
Enought with the online service games that all they want is your money every month, we need a real games experience without the fear that one day the service will go offline and we will never be able to play our favor game even solo...
Falcore be like: Good things are coming just be nice
5:32 even Ubisoft does this for rainbow6 and that game is also going down a slippery slope, but even that brings people back to the game to test out new operators, and for people to look for bugs
I am so glad someone else mentioned it because I always thought it'd be best if the Mermaid had to be summoned with like a conch horn or something.
As it stands they're still one of the biggest annoyances on the seas, never there when you need them but always conveniently right on schedule to ruin your tuck attempts. Just let me call the bloody thing when I need it.
Could just be a function of the speaking trumpet somehow, or give us a merm summon shanty. It wouldnt be hard to do something like this.
Introducing this game to friends when the game is in this state is not easy to keep the boys coming back. Props to Drew though for being the whipping boy of Rare, that can’t possibly be fun.
If Siren Skull should become more rare event, then they should reduce the commendation of how many time you have to do it.
I'm just sad we can't even say your name on the sea of thieves official discord server. like they wanna plug their ears to any good answers to the game's problems.
lets gooo new vid, any content that tears apart SOT is my fav
upgradable harbour would be sick... i mean that you can buy your own harbour and upgrade it further and further. maybe with passive money too like in gta
Me love some Noobface yapping! In all seriousness your ideas are great , we also need some TDM mode because I'm ass and I want to learn xD
Ive been yapping about molten sands for years lmao, an ashen COF would go crazy
One idea I had was make HG have its own currency that you can use for sups and HG only cosmentics. Get rid of the gold from HG so people have to PvE or fight for PvE loot to get gold.
I founded a bug on the burning blade, if you walk between the grog barrel and the normal barrel, you just no clip the wall of the ship, they not solved this bug
I came back to the game from a hiatus since 2020. I literally played for 20 minutes and un-installed again because of the lag. The server can't handle everything they added. Is a shame
If a sot partner posted this rather than a banned player i bet they’d take a lot of it into account
