Very interesting. I've had one abandoned attempt at a vacform kit, a AW Argosy, a British military transport. The amount of sanding cutting and shaping was endless for what was going to be a low detail kit. I have had better luck with a pure resin kit, a Boulton-Paul P120, a British early experimental jet. As is stated, small resin parts are brittle difficult to work with. They can also warp in storage, which can sometimes be corrected by immersing in hot water. It's no wonder injection plastic kits rule.
@@geraldsteele7620 it was a Welsh models 1:144 scale kit. That was the problem. The sheet it was formed from was very thick so I had to remove masses of material to to get leading and trailing edges tapered to scale.
Since my videos are primarily historic, most of the specific models shown are long out of production. They are for sale on ebay sometimes as single kits in various states of completeness. Some of the vacuform and resin kits are only available locally in the US (but most are out of production). Injection moulded plastic kits, in general, are available world wide in standard distribution channels as are wood kits by Guillows and resin kits by Planet Models. I hope this helps you. G Steele
Thanks for sharing your know how. I hope to make such models someday.
You can do it!

If it's the kit I think it is, you picked a big difficult one, but you are right, vac kits are very lagor intensive and tend to be poor in detail.
