  • www.XeroShoes.c... -- Want the ULTIMATE in minimalist tying for your barefoot sandals (huaraches)?
Our customer service manager, and ultra-marathoner, Bill Babcock came up with this. He's a serious barefoot runner -- does 100+ miles/week either barefoot or in Xero Shoes. And he loves to experiment with tying styles. So, Bill realized that you don't need a knot on the top of your foot if you jam 2 laces through a bead that's only big enough for one! ;-)
Whether you're using your barefoot running sandals for barefoot running, walking or hiking, you'll love how simple Xero Shoes are. Our running sandals are a perfect solution to your barefoot running shoe or minimalist running shoe needs.

Depends on what "sprinting" is for you. That is, some people think they're sprinting when they're really just running as fast as they can. ;-)
I'm a nationally ranked competitive sprinter (at 51, I run a 12 second 100m). I use my Xero Shoes for everything UP TO 85% of my full speed. All my warm ups, drills, builds, etc.
After that, I need more traction than a sandal can give, so I put on a "spikeless spike" for 85-95% and spikes for 95%+.
And then I'm back in Xeros when I'm done.

We have a lot of lifters who wear Xero Shoes (those who want to be close to barefoot, but with protection from, well, gym floors). Since these don't fall off your foot (the way flip flops do), they're great for lifting.

What you are one of the founders? I did not know that wow I am taking to one of the founders. Your xero shoes look amazing. Thanks for your input.

I was on Facebook the other day and I saw the xero shoes worn by one of your employees. He had cut a part of the shoes, and I was wondering if you could make a PSA or video on how to do it.

So I really really like this tying method. But I can NOT get the string through the bead the second time.. :/ any other tips to get it to work? Thanks!

Can to you sprint in them? Excuse my excessive questioning. I want your complete unbiased opinion.

Instead of using a bead, could you tie a knot there and slip the other end through it and then tie another knot a the end to prevent it from sliding out?

You could, but the point of this video was to show the most "low profile" way of securing the lace.

The only "secret" is to get the lace end as pointy as possible.

Hmmm... not sure what to say, then. The way we've done it hundreds of times is exactly what I show in the video.

what makes the price of ready made huaraches higher than clouds and ventures?

That we have a human being who makes them for your unique foot shape (picks the sole, cuts it, trims it, sands it, laces it, etc.

    How about lifting? (Weights)

He just cut away (with kitchen scissors) every part that he thought would never touch his foot and the ground at the same time ;-)
