- www.XeroShoes.com -- Making a pair of barefoot running sandals? Then you'll like this tying style which we use for our Xero Shoes.
This video shows what we call the Xero Basic. Once you tie it with tension that feels comfortable, you can slip it on and slip it off in just a second... and when it's on, it stays on, whether you're barefoot walking, hiking, camping, kayaking, paddle boarding, doing Crossfit or yoga, or taking a casual run or doing a 100-mile ultramarathon.
If you want to see this minimalist shoe tying style without a foot in the way, go to • How to Tie Huaraches B...
And if you've been checking out minimalist running shoes and barefoot shoes, take a look at Xero Shoes. Our barefoot sandals give you just enough protection (without support you don't need), a 5,000 mile warranty, your choice of fun colors, and a price that anyone can afford.
Ive has the same pair for 8 years. I bet ive watched this video 100 times. One day ill have it memorized.
Same here. 9 years for me
Same here I’m going to almost 4 years but wish they made them again to buy other ones
I still have mine from 3 years ago, and also just changed my lace. Amazing. Please a come back of this amazing huaracha shoes!!!!!!
I think I come back to this video at least twice a year because of the change of the straps 😂😂 now it’s almost 4 years with this babes. Please make them again 😢
I watched this video 9 years ago when I bought my first pair of the diy kit. It’s still kicking! I replaced the lace today. Will probably get another 9 years out of this. Amazing product. Hands down the best shoes/sandals I have ever owned.
The knot you are making is not a double half hitch but a lark's head hitch. But it is a very good idea to make it!
I'm still working on the tightness of the first over foot loop. Thanks for the tying tutorials with left and right video. I thought I could use the right foot video and figure out the left, but I was so wrong.
awesome, thank you! Love these shoes. If it wasn't for Shark Tank I would have never knew these existed. Tried the vibram 5 fingers, but was not a fan. Your foot feels trapped in the shoe. In these they feel so free. Keep it up & good luck!
EXCELLENT!!!
THANKS FOR SHARING!
Just ordered a pair in this colorway. Cannot wait!
thanks a lot! this first node is very usefull to adjust the lace. so enjoyable :)
The knot you are doing is a double half hitch as opposed to just the half hitch. There are a lot of interesting knots out there for different purposes.
Thank you!
just got my xeros and as a barefoot with just a leather sole - even the 4 mm is heavy , thick and very warm on my feet - and I feel the knot. look forward to get to know them better cuz right now it feels like the earth is very far away
I mean I usually just twist the laces around until I run out of paracord and tie an overhand knot
Thank you. This should be done for both sides of feet. Actually a bit tricky to do all in 'mirror mode'...
No
I like that one. Thanks for the tip. :)
A useful tip: never cut off the excess lace, just wrap it around. You'll need it later when the knot under the toes wears through and you have to pull it through a bit and tie another knot.
I'm especially glad I did this since the soles and laces are no longer available on the UK website. Why is this, and are they coming back?
You'll have to check with xeroshoes.co.uk directly... they're an independent dealer and make their own decisions about inventory.
@@xeroshoes Ah, OK, thanks.
Wow very nice
Absolutely! For me, it's much more comfortable than flip-flops. I wear this for every activity and I love it! I made a tutorial too! ua-cam.com/video/fuonqq9up9g/v-deo.html
Record the video, upload it to your YT account, and add it here as a video reply. Or post it on our FB page @xeroshoes
I recently order a pair of Xeros.. How come they didn't come with the toe holes? :(
ANd what would be an easy, convenient, and harmless to the ''shoes'' way to do it?
They come with a punch to make your own toe hole. Not all toes are created equally.
I need more paracord for mine . Anybody know what specifications to look for in order to find quality cord? Havent had good replacement cord with he same quality as the diy kit I originally bought. Even from Xero.
You can actually purchase additional laces here: xeroshoes.com/shop/gear/xero-laces/. These will be the same laces that are included in our DIY Kits.
Can I suggest the oystermans stopper knot for the toe knot.
I think you just did ;-) (it's a good suggestion)
@@xeroshoes thanks, I found it ok, nice button shaped low profile knot, thanks for the tying advice I,m using this method now. Now all I have to do is source some decent sole material.
As far as decent sole material goes, that's why we developed our own at xeroshoes.com. Our FeelTrue soles have a 5,000 mile sole warranty.
I know you said it's a double half hitch, but actually it's a lark's head
Thanks for the info!
If you ordered a kit, you punch the toe hole yourself (with the included punch) so you get it in the perfect place for YOUR foot. (that's in the instructions at xeroshoes (dot)com/make
Wondering? Do you have to make these into a thong style of could you punch 2 holes in the front and make a cross strap that goes over the toes like the z-trek style?
You can make them however you like. There are some designs like what you described at xeroshoes.com/tying/
🙌🏼
I got a sore spot on the back of my foot from this :/ Still trying to find the optimal tying pattern for me.
It *could* be the tying pattern, or it could be that you're discovering a "form issue." While it's not the same situation, you may find this blog post useful -- www.xeroshoes.com/blister (especially if you're getting the problem on one foot and not the other)
Try different string, or try to add string around the first one. Also watch?v=1bqkPAWVTLA . I wish you best luck.
Thanks for your suggestion! I got the spot on both feet. I'm now trying the super minimal style that doesn't have any knots at all; seems to be the right one for me :)
I found that with such a long 'in between the toes' bit, the sandals tend feel very loose for me, and when I tighten the 'in between the toes' thing, I get a blister right there.
Everybody's feet are so different :))
bruh I just tied them backwards because I did the left one first and the video is the right one💀
Gangster AF
If anyone is as dumb as me and needs this video flipped horizontally to do the left sandal, here ya go:
