Hi William... straight down is how we do it. No need to avoid a chevron. I haven't heard more about drill bits since we started shipping a punch with every kit we sell... but a punch is WAY better than a drill no matter what.
it came out great! ive never used a punch thats why i was interested in drills but they came out like little apple cores and the "lacing tool" with pliers worked like a charm as well once i get the hang of them ill try them for my kung fu classes quick question do you know if these sandals make scuff marks on rubber/foam mats? if so i dont think ill be aloud to use them in my kungfu school for all the kicking/movement ill have to do
I'm not sure where your stats are coming from. In countries where there are very few shoes, there are even fewer complaints about foot pain. In the Western countries, it's quite hard to find a pair of shoes without arch support of some kind. And I'm a bit dubious about 80% of people complaining of foot pain (none of my Podiatrist friends agree with that number, FWIW)
okay i just bought the 6mm sandals i have a questions for the hole in between the big toes do i make it straight down vertically or at a diagonal angle and if so which direction of the foot? do i have to avoid the chevrons when doing said hole? have you heard any more information on the drill bit methods? the punch seems fine but i would not mind just using a drill i think it would come out cleaner and more professional that way i do not want to mess up my sandal before i even use them lol
I really wouldn't personally call that "clubbing" of the nails...looks more like unusually healthy nail growth related to barefoot running! hehe... As far as nocturnal hypoxia goes, I'd be more interested in the fingernails, and from what I can see, there really is no clubbing there. Also, nail "clubbing" can be caused by quite a few processes other than lung disease. However, just in case you were going to, I'd recommend not taking up cigarette smoking... ;) -your friendly neighborhood FNP
I can see these getting popular, like the sandal version of Toms. A lot of people watch Shark Tank. Funny how none of the people on the show took that into account.
If you follow the instructions for using it at xeroshoes(dot)com/make, in step 6 (click on the video image), you shouldn't have a problem (over 20,000 people have done it so far). Just make sure you have the sole on a SOLID surface, with a magazine under the sole (if you use something too thick, it absorbs too much shock). Then a good whack will do it.
I am a bit concerned about the clubbing of your toe nails. I read that the most common disease associated with it is lung cancer. You should have some tests done. BTw, I saw Shark Tank last night and I wished I could go to Walmart or Target already to buy a pair. Good luck!
The way you say "outsoles" makes the beginning of this video really, really funny.
I was perplexed for a while, until I realised he was saying 'out' soles. Even so, I still can't un-hear what I first heard. It's locked in now.

hi steve, your sandals are best ones so far, really nice, keep up the good work, thank you!!!
So its not just me that thought he says assholes. Quality.
i was going to say "be careful how you pronounce 'outsouls'":)
PeteKJ nope. (_|_)

What brand is the rotary hole punch? I need one long enough so I can punch the hols a distance from the front of the sandal.
I thought it was associated with... oh, what's that thing called where you can't remember stuff?

i want these for my birthday so badly but my mom would probably look at the shoes and just buy me flip flops. i want these badly :(
The hole punch that comes with the kit is impossible.

Obviously this dude does not age.
80 percent of the people complain of foot pain and 80+ percent of shoes have NO arch support. i wonder if there's a connection.
Thumbs up for the "assholes" :)
yunk9 hey! Keep your thumbs away from my outsole!
Pulmonary disease. Not nec cancer.
Massively overpriced product considering 1) you need to make the thing yourself and 2) it's very simple.
$30 for a piece of rubber and 550 cord. It's weird because they have nice shoes that fairly priced.
Why do I keep hearing, "Arseholes"?

Is he saying assholes?
shut the fuckup
"outsoles", LOL
