3 reasons why the BR-2.1P pickup system is even better!!

  • Creating a pickup system that allows you to use all the possibilities that an acoustic guitar has was very central for us in the last years.
With the BR-2P we created a pickup system which enabled you to combine the typical acoustic guitar sound, with percussive sound and bring this all together on stage.
We thought after 4 years it might be time to upgrade our BR-2P to the brand new BR-2.1P: to make it easier accessible and better sounding.

I've been using mostly only the undersaddle pickup for a month while I have this new Baton Rouge guitar.
I had to find this video to see how to change the battery in my new Baton Rouge AR21C/ACE guitar. The case with those batteries (three CR2025 tablet batteries) was little bit stuck there in the compartment, so I wanted to make sure that I do everything properly trying to take it out.
I used a multimeter to check all the batteries and found out that one of 3 batteries was really weak (the guitar is new, I got it a month ago) , I noticed a little dirt in a sound while playing, so I had to check the batteries. So the weak one is swapped for a new one.
So using multimeter is recommended for checking the batteries in this pickup system.
The guitar is incredible! I love it !

Hi. What batteries you can recommend? I tried few different types, but the performance is very low. Should it be CR2016 or CR2025 ? Thanks

@@vasylnekohda5323, I quit using the piezo system on this guitar. So I don't even know what kind of batteries to recommend to you. I started using Seymour Duncan Mag Mic pickup (magnetic pickup with microphone)

@@antonsavin72Hi. What you can say about this guitar?I'm thinking of buying this one.Is it good to hear the percussion in combo and what are the impressions of the guitar as a whole?

    • @antonsavin72
      @antonsavin72 9 місяців тому

@@floxer1883 , all around it's a great guitar. I bought it because of a wider neck . (When I got it I also found out that the neck is thicker, almost like a neck of a classical guitar). The frets after the 12 fret were not perfectly leveled, so I had to level them. And that little compartment for the batteries was a big problem for me. After changing the batteries second time the contact in the battery compartment was lost. I found what was the problem - the long wire contact that's positioned along the small battery compartment (inside of the main box compartment - that wire was bending over.
I got it to work when I found out that's it bending over. But still I am not using percussion technik. So I was going to try my favourite Seymour Duncan Mag Mic soundhole pickup. And I am using it now.
Answering your question about hearing the percussion - yes, when I tried it , the pickup responsible for the percussion was heard very good

Will you be selling the BR-2.1P pickup system? or it is only available and built-in to guitars?

El problema es con las baterias, deberia usar baterias de 9 volt en lugar de las cr2025.

Amazing job. Can you do side by side comparison to hear the difference between the old BR-2P and the new one BR-2.1P ?
Also, do you plan to implement the new pickup system on each new acoustic guitar production?

    • @batonrougeguitars

Thanks for the Input. That is a great Idea to do a side by side comparison! I'll what I can do! The BR-2.1P will be mainly build in our Rouge Series. So all the AR Models. The other ones will have the BR-1 Pickup!

Потрясающая работа? Да вы просто испортили хороший звукосниматель, вырезав из него все, что только возможно! Скорее всего вы просто хотите сэкономить деньги.

What type of battery best suits this pickup? is it CR2025 CR2016, CR2036 ? I lost the original batteries since the performance was poor, so now I'm trying to figure out what should I get. Thanks

    • @batonrougeguitars

Hi there. Thanks for your question. This is basically possible but quite tricky. The Preamp module of the BR-2.1P is bigger than the one of the BR1. So you might adjust the whole. To mention only one. The BR2.1P is not available for sale in general.

I have two ar81 guitars. They sound amazing. One with old and one with new Pickup. No doubt that the new one is more convinient. However, the guitars are slightly different as well. On my older model, slight difference on the shape, thinner fretboard and more mat finish. Overall, i find the old model more pleasent to play. Ideally for me would be to have the new pick up on the old model of my ar81.

Well, not enough demo to decide, but I don't like the sound. And I believe that guy don't like it too lol: 4:08 he's tune it to 12, then playing and then tune it again -- so I think he don't like the sound. So do I :)

I consider buying a Baton Rouge, but Thomann has sold them all out. Being a fingerpicker, it's really the only guitar that comes with at wide enough fingerboard in my price range. I guess when Thomann get BR on stock again, they will all be with the new pick up system.

i have a problem with this device, particularly with the tuner. it shows a note that is slightly lower than I'm actually playing. the outer tuner and tuner mobile app differs from br2.1p's one. I even tested it using a good synth: every note is as if it's slightly tuned down

Hello there, I have same issue too! Any solutions? Also three CR2025 dies very soon when touring, already replaced it with CR2032 which have little bigger capacity and easier to buy there, but still too small capacity
compared with ordinary LR61. Already thinking to change the preamp because of this issues! But the guitar great itself! (ar61)
