I actually peruse my site on mobile all the time and won't let my ad agency remove the "x" from the ads so that you can still remove them. Sometimes it takes a second, but you can always remove them. Here's a tip with recipes on ANY site (they all have ads, it's how we can still provide free content for you): use the "jump to recipe" button and hit "print recipe" - a new, ad-free window will pop up that you can use as long as you want to read the recipe (you don't have to print). I do this all the time. :)
