- The BAFTAs or British Academy of Film and Television Arts Award show was held both in person and digitally this year. It’s interesting to see these hybrid award shows come together, as it definitely creates red carpet styles vs more editorial images! Except Andra Day, she had her own step and repeat and I loved it! Big actors like Renee Zellweger and Regina King unfortunately disappointed in some of the bigger luxury brands like Armani & Christian Dior. But new faces on the red carpet like Kosher Ali & Kingsley Ben-Adir killed it in Alexander McQueen Dior Men respectively! Leslie Odom Jr. gave us something to think about in Versace, while Priyanka Chopra also opted for multiple looks in Ronald van Der Kemp & Pertegaz!

I'd like for Luke to do a video on stylist. A lot of celebrities don't really know what to wear on red carpets and just trust their stylist to create a good image for them. Maybe a video on the works of stylist and how they create iconic moments for their clients.

I understand what you are saying, but I feel like recently you are more obsessed with people being “crazy or cookie,” and not just appreciating the looks for what they are. I agree! I think fashion should bring out the best in the wearer. Not what is the funkiest or most extravagant but what looks the best on the person and matches their aura the most, idk :')

I think he'd love it. Because luke likes weird, daring outfits and most men do not experiment with their apparel and I think Ranveer would blow his mind with the sheer variety in his style
I like Anna Kendrick's dress from Zuhair Murad quite a bit. It may not be terribly exciting but it is extremely flattering and screams classic Hollywood beauty with a twist on the material. I feel like Anna Kendrick has a very girl-next-door vibe and I appreciate when she dresses more like a femme fatale because she's trying to be a little bit iconoclastic and fight that more cutesy identity.
LOVED Kosar Ali's all-white look (though I have no idea who she is). Beautiful, monotone, tailored yet feminine.
Also loved Amanda Kirby's gunmetal femme fatale look in Versace. So slinky and gorgeous!
I LOVED Alan Kim in Thom Browne!! The cuff of the pants gave a "boyish" touch and I think it was super cute
“If I’m gonna be a Prada bridesmaid...” that makes me picture Luke as a bridesmaid, and he’d make an excellent bridesmaid

Shes got a power to her that shines through. She shape-shifts her aesthetic and identity to fit the clothes. I think her dress was ugly but she made it work somehow

Don’t agree with the Celeste dress. It looks like Maid Marion had a fight with a lawn mower. And I thought Anna looked beautiful. Perhaps not the most edgy choice but those Autumnal colours really compliment her brunette colouring. It was a flattering silhouette, the leg slit added a dose of sex appeal, the pleating added some visual interest and the metallic sheen of the fabric kept things luxe. I will say that her shoes were vile though. I’m not a fan of a chunky clear PVC “invisible” shoe strap.

The attention to detail is impressive. When I saw the second Louis Vuitton look I knew it had something off. And then Luke pointed out to the see through fabric that it doesn't go well with the wearer skin tone

the stitch down the middle MAKES THE DRESS. it makes it look like a flower petal. iron , metal like fabric in a petal design? yes and yes from this woman. complicated and smart and knows how to protect the best parts without giving anything away. this is a complicated magnificant dress.

Vanessa Kirby in Versace was also my favorite look. Would that I could afford a gown in that fabric! My next favorite look was GuGu Mbatha-Raw in Louis Vuitton. Rather than trying to match fabric to skin, I would have dyed the wannabe skin-tone fabric to match one of the accent colors in the Louis Vuitton look. I also wonder why not more boots? I wear boots (tall, short skinny etc.) 99% of my time in the outside (admittedly due to quarantine, 99% of my time has been spent inside wearing geta or zori) world. I do not know why, but the McQueen look on Kosar Ali made me smile. I think it was because the look had a certain "Bridgerton" flair to its silhouette...and I believe Kosar Ali was wearing boots!

Priyanka’s second look looks like it’s paying homage to Indian traditional clothing- the embroidery and flowers scream Indian and the pants resemble a dhoti- which is a traditional wrap around attire worn by men in South India. I think your critique was a little culturally insensitive... idk
He probably isn’t aware of that. And, even if he is. He is totally unbiased as he only judges the fashion part of it. I’m Indian as well and did it wow me? No! Indian fashion is better than this and as is Indian inspired clothing. Did the embroidery wow me? No! I have seen better embroideries. If you want to pay homage to Indian culture at least serve it good. Indian designers like Sabyasachi are hitting the stores of American household luxury stores like Bergdorf Goodman and even though they are mostly Indian style of embroideries, prints and colour blocking techniques there were a lot of silhouettes of the west. So, I expected better. And, let’s keep in mind it’s THE LAW ROACH who is her stylist. The expectations are bound to be high.
@@rojabiswas4677 you can’t exactly judge the fashion aspect of something while being blind to cultural things. he clearly makes an effort to go beyond a eurocentric critique of fashion, which i appreciate. and while i agree that some Indian designers are doing really well, i think the way we approach indian designs has to be a little different to others. for instance, calling fabrics “flowy” or big is an eurocentric ideal because those clothes favour structure and rigidity generally. whereas indian traditional garments are loose or flowy. so there’s a cultural difference there and also a bias

I think the issue with the Kendrick dress is that it was trying too many things--the pleats and bust would be nice if it was just a plain black dress, or the color would look good on a more regular shape, but...all together it was trying too hard

Celestes dress does have some prada elements like the embellishments and carwash pleats I thought it was prada at first glance too it feels and looks very prada fall winter 2009 which I really love and the green is gorgeous 💚
