Zoom had the sweetest little shaker that she always kept cinnamon/sugar in. She would hand us a plate with hot buttered bread and we got to sprinkle our on. Thanks for showing this method.
You're a wonderful husband, Father. and Grandad. Your wife is really pretty and your granddaughters too. Thanks for sharing their favorite cinnamon toast. That was one of our favorites as kids and I still make it today. Have a blessed Easter. He is risen!
Awww, you are such a kind person! I love the way you love your family. I wish my children would at least call me. But they don't. God bless you and your family. Let's pray for each other and everyone else!

I don’t have a new wave oven either. But I do bake my own bread in a bread machine like you do. Mostly my loaves are tall and square. I make my cinnamon toast by grilling it on both side with an iron griddle using real butter that is lightly salted. I top it using a cinnamon sugar grinder that has a lot of cinnamon and much less sugar. After that I sprinkle 1 little packet of Stevia on the toast. For me, too much sugar is too sweet since diabetes runs in my family. I have tried using sucralose, but it makes me feel really bad and bloated. I find making my cinnamon toast this way allows me to still enjoy the flavors and slight crunch of the bread with a bit of sweetness that goes well with the cinnamon. I understand how your granddaughters love this to be more sweet. When I was younger, I craved more sweet stuff too.
Great idea putting the rack in the sink. I’m sure they loved watching this video. That looks so good. Hope you get to hug your grandkids soon. Happy Easter 🐇
Thankyou for the video. I too grew up with a similar recipe , I too make it for all our 9 grandchildren lol ...the difference is I combine brown sugar and cinnamon and butter..yummy
Hey Ken, I'm a new subscriber. This is a childhood memory food for me! Since I've become pregnant, I crave it. Nice to see so many of my favorite, simple recipes on your channel!
Never made cinnamon toast this way but it wld work cuz my daughter loves alot of cinnamon & sugar. She always tells me I didn't put enough. Thanks Mr. Ken for sharing and solving my dilema. Stay safe!😊
Doing cinnamon toast in the oven is the best! But, I rarely have the time & patience, so I use the toaster,. But you’ve inspired me to make it in the oven again! Happy Easter to you & your family...soon we can celebrate with loved ones. But, no pandemic can stop us from celebrating the reason for Easter...the resurrection of Jesus Christ! He is risen!
I know what you mean, I can’t hug or kiss my grands either, when my son and his fiancé comes over, I’m in the garage and they stand in the driver. We are doing our part like you all and if everyone gets on board, we’ll nip it in the butt. I pray this pandemic will soon be over. My Mama made this for us and I made it for our two sons about the age of your grand daughters. I can’t wait to hug and kiss them. God bless you and your entire family and stay safe. I made your biscuits for two and the yeast rolls and they came out perfect. I made the biscuits and they were done by the time the rest of the breakfast was ready. I love all your “simple” recipes, glad I subscribed! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤️ . Keep up the good work!
Ken, you've succeeded in making me crave cinnamon today. I can't have it though, I'm diabetic. I'll have to try it with some Splenda,.. that's what my sister does but I'd almost rather do without. We always toasted ours in the broiler. The bottom didn't get toasted but I guess it's what you get used to, huh?. Have a Happy Easter everyone.
My technique is just a variation of this one: I put my bread slices in the toaster to whatever degree of brown that I like and have some soft butter ready to spread on the bread when the slices pop up, then I have my own mixture of sugar & cinnamon that I liberally sprinkle on top. I like to then put the bread in the microwave for just 6 or 7 seconds and re-heat everything and that helps the sugar/cinnamon mixture to melt into the butter...yummy..!! And...my 13 yr. "young" Granddaughter lives in Virginia but since the schools there are closed for the remainder of this school term, her Mom flew her to Memphis, where I picked her up, and now she is with me..."Papa". My Daughter is still working, THANKFULLY....thank you, Lord...and that would have put my G'Daughter alone in their apartment . I am retired and living here in rural Arkansas, apparently not too far from Ken, and so I have lots of free time to spend with my G'Daughter. A couple of days ago I took my G'Daughter and her best friend to Lake Norfork and they had a great time swimming in the cold lake....Brrr..!! I sure hope this dastardly virus starts burning itself out real soon; the situation is getting too close; if it hasn't already happened, to our Constitutionally guaranteed liberties being curtailed and over-ridden. Each State must decide for itself and depending on the specific conditions in each State, how to handle the closing of businesses...or to put it another way...when to let local businesses open up again to the public and just take their chances. I know that President Trump is concerned with this problem and he doesn't want to step on the State's right of self governance. Heck, some States like Arizona & Nevada and Wyoming have such a widespread population that using the same guidelines and policies like NYC that have all but shut down the city and the businesses just do not apply to these sparsely populated States. Stay safe, everyone...!!
Glad you're getting to spend time with you granddaughter. You're right, every state is different. There are even great differences with a state (think of Texas with huge cities and wide open ranges). It's a problem for sure, but I believe it will all work out. Stay safe and well.
Oh my goodness, does this take me back. I have not had cinnamon toast since I was a child and my mother stuck it in the broiler drawer. The sugar would melt and come out bubbly. A new use for my NuWave oven, too. Guess I'll be trying this tomorrow. Thank you
I don’t have a new wave oven... I have to make it the old fashioned way in a skillet.. and I do both sides of the bread... but it’s yummy however it’s made..❤️
Butter both sides of bread and put bread in skillet or griddle . While one side is toasting , I dribble some honey or maple syrup on the top side and sprinkle cinnamon , nutmeg and sometimes a bit of ginger . Flip the bread and slowly brown the other side which makes the honey , syrup or sugar slightly "caramelize" . Karo syrup or molasses is also something to experiment with . All the best

It comes in handy. Of course any toaster over will work.
I bet your granddaughters watched this video and could almost smell the cinnamon. I'm certain they miss their pap-paw as much as you miss them.
I'll have to call them and get them to watch the video. I always enjoy a reason to speak with them.

Skillets rule for cinnamon toast and French toast . Try honey or maple syrup . All the best .
I've never made cinnamon toast in a skillet. When do you put the cinnamon & sugar on? After the first flip?
Butter both sides of bread and put bread in skillet or griddle . While one side is toasting , I dribble some honey or maple syrup on the top side and sprinkle cinnamon , nutmeg and sometimes a bit of ginger .
Flip the bread and slowly brown the other side which makes the honey , syrup or sugar slightly "caramelize" . Karo syrup or molasses is also something to experiment with . All the best
Thanks. Never had it that way!

Hey Ken. Can you please do a French Toast video? I would like to see how you make it.
Yes, I will.
My daddy use to make it just like this in the broiler. PS: Putting those biscuits in the oven right now.
Wonderful! Enjoy!
My oldest son is 44 and I still make him cinnamon toast.
